Twilight was walking through the woods, walking off her sadness when she heard the crunching of bones. Twilight lowered her wings and trotted very carefully toward the source of the noise. She peered over a bush. A stallion sat their , eating a rabbit. He had a black mane, a dark grey coat, a curved horn. Armour was on him as well as a steel crown and a red king's cloak. Twilight realized with awe it was King Sombra, the tyrant of the Crystal Empire.
But now he looked sadder and actuals... rather cute. Twilight's face warmed up. What was that?
Twilight stepped away but accidentally steeped on a twig.
Sombra's head shot up, his ear twitching. His horn turned red and the whites of his eyes turned green and started to spout purple smoke.
"Who's there?" He asked, his horn lit up.
Twilight knew that there was no point in hiding. He would find her. She stepped out of the bushes, the moonlight lighting up her coat and mane. Sombra's eyes widened.
"Twilight Sparkle?" Sombra said, his magic going away.
"Yes." Twilight said.
Sombra looked away.
"Why are you here?" Sombra said, bitterness in his voice.
"Because my friends don't think everything can go back to normal." Twilight said, her head and wings low.
Sombra looked at her and went next to her.
"Well their wrong. You're still you and you can shine just the way you are." Sombra said, lifting up her head with his hoof.
Twilight looked into Sombra's eyes and saw pure sympathy and compassion in them. There was no trace of the old arrogant, evil king in Sombra now.
Tears filled her eyes and she did something she would have never done when she had first met him.
Twilight hugged Sombra. Sombra's eyes widened with surprise and his body became tense but then he relaxed and hugged her back. Twilight cried into Sombra's shoulder. Sombra stroked her back.
"It's okay, Twilight. No one will hurt you." Sombra soothed.
Twilight's sobs subsided and Twilight lifted her head and looked into Sombra's eyes. And suddenly, Twilight did what neither of them expected: Twilight kissed Sombra. Again, Sombra was surprised but got used to it. They both heard a snap and they seperated.
The mane six and Spike stepped out of the bushes. Blushes covered both of the ponies face. But they kept their hooves together. This was the start of a beautiful love.
