What's Left Unsaid
Twilight stood outside the entry to her teacher’s chamber. The sheer size of the door, was truly immense. For Twilight it stood roughly five times her height, dwarfing the unicorn, and even dwarfing Celestia herself. An ornate sun carving, vaguely reminiscent of the princess’s cutie mark, was carved into the center of solid surface. The sun engulfed most of the door, with strong lines representing the life-giving rays jetting off from the elaborate carving. Floral patterns drew sweeping, elegantly curved lines around the wooden canvas, leading one’s attention back to the overbearing golden sun at the center. The vine-like curves stood as a backdrop, with small flowers sprouting out seemingly at random; in the grand scheme of the design however, they were mirrored symmetrically on each side of the door. Polished golden rivets held a sculpted golden framework in place, leaving a gaudy, almost sickening border around the whole motif. Gold and white drowned the senses in a nauseatingly garish display of the princess’s role in Equestrian life. A few welcomed splashes of purple came from embedded amethyst in the flower-like features, but it was far too little to save this calamity.
Twilight shook her head in disgust, dreading this door. No matter how many times she saw it, it always sickened her down to her core. Today she found herself staring into the intricate design; forcing herself to look at its loud, over-the-top craftsmanship in hopes of delaying her purpose for being at the castle, even for just a moment longer. On the other side of that door lie Celestia’s chambers, an entire wing of the castle devoted to her petty endeavors. She had her own private library, stocked with first editions—most of which she seized under royal authority—a private study, spa, terrace, observatory, office, the list went on. It was utterly disgusting that her kingdom’s taxes paid for the princess to live in such unnecessary luxury.
The worst part though was Twilight’s visit to her teacher today for some “special lessons”. Twilight’s stomach churned as she fought the urge to vomit right there. Special lessons, that was good for a laugh. She knew the purpose of this twisted call once she read the summons. Twilight held a hoof to her stomach, holding back her thought-induced sickness. Once she managed to calm her stomach, she took a deep breath to ready herself further. Beyond the disgusting excuse for a door, was her mentor, waiting for her. She couldn’t delay any longer, she had to go inside.
Twilight opened the hulking door, leading to the main foyer of Celestia’s private wing. Statues and paintings of herself were the main décor. Accompanied with obscene golden carpet, and enough pure white on the walls to make you want to drown yourself in a small puddle. A purple border lined the room towards the ceiling, giving some vague sense of an accent color, but it was too little. The floor itself was of course marble, and really beat the white and gold motif into your skull. Golden suns were engraved into the floor and walls leaving a grid pattern in the floor, and placed evenly between the paintings on the walls. Each sun was a carbon copy of Celestia’s cutie mark. Looking up, one could see the dome ceiling, which actually had some color to it. Unfortunately it was another vain rendition of Celestia herself. The colors of her flowing mane were painted onto the ceiling, in wavy segments to further mimic the princess’s mane. Imbedded into the plaster were diamonds, which gave a soft twinkle when the light hit them. To add more insult to injury, at the pinnacle of the dome sat yet another gaudy, downright sickening sun, glaring down at whomever entered these godforsaken chambers.
The whole design of the foyer made Twilight feel woozy with how utterly gaudy, daft, and tasteless it was. No restraint, no sense of design, and a revolting display of vanity cursed this entire wing of the castle. It was utterly putrid in its presentation, with a nasty aftertaste that left one feeling lightheaded. Twilight could have passed out right there, but she didn’t want her mentor to find her like that. The last time that happened, she couldn’t walk right for a week. She groaned like a foal preparing for school after a long summer, feeling her mind and body yelling at her not to get her mentor’s attention, but she had no choice. Reluctantly, she called out into the endless quarters.
“Princess?” She felt a small piece of her soul die in that instant she called out to alert her teacher. A sinking feeling settled into her chest, pulling down on her heart, as her call echoed down the hallway in front of her. She shouldn’t feel this way, but it was all Celestia’s fault she was like this. All Twilight wanted to do was leave and get out of there, but years of conditioning on Celestia’s part held her in place. Her hooves remained still no matter how much she told them to move, as if they were glued to the floor. Her eyes fell upon her useless, piss-poor excuse for hooves, utterly revolted by the sight of them quivering. They had the power to get her out of this, but they refused to move. That disgust she felt turned inwards once she heard the clip-clop of hooves coming towards her. Twilight was pathetic. She hated herself for letting this happen. It wasn’t her hooves that had the power to end this, it was Twilight herself, but she was too much of a coward to stand up for herself. As the sound of hooves came ever closer, she whimpered slightly, dreading the sight of her monarch appearing in the doorway across from her. In a final cop-out Twilight closed her eyes tightly, squeezing them shut in hopes to shut out the world.
Finally the sound stopped. Twilight lifted one ear, expectantly. She didn’t have to wait long for the kind, sugar-coated voice of the princess to grace her ears. “Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student, I am pleased you decided to accept my invitation.” Her tone was almost melodic, and was sweeter than all the sweets in Sugarcube Corner. One could get diabetes if they listened to her talk too often, and if that was the case, Twilight should be dead from the amount of coma inducing ear-candy Celestia stuffed her with. Needless to say, it made Twilight sick just hearing it; the overly nice tone turned her stomach in knots, mostly because Twilight knew what would come shortly after these pleasantries.
“You know I couldn’t refuse, even if I wanted to...” the defeated unicorn muttered, barely audible. She opened her eyes, but kept them firmly glued to the ugly golden carpet beneath her; She didn’t want to see the princess, not now, not ever. Twilight miserably walked towards her mentor’s voice, her body working slowly, and very purposefully now. She had to actually focus on moving every muscle, or else she wouldn’t move at all. If she didn’t move, it would be a great insult to the princess—besides, Twilight had already tried that before, and it did not work out.
Twilight followed her teacher to her bedroom. For the entirety of the short trip, she refused to even glance up, finding much comfort in what the floor had to offer—mostly the lack of a white alicorn looming over her. Plus it didn’t matter if she looked up, or followed the princess, she knew the way there like the back of her hoof—straight out of the foyer, take the first left, and all the way down the hall. Twilight had plenty of lessons in the princess’s private wing when she was just a filly, so she knew the layout almost as well as Celestia herself. The bedroom though, that was only for Celestia’s “special lessons”.
She heard the door open ahead of her. Her body froze for a moment before taking that step into Celestia’s bedroom. The thought of one last chance at freedom almost seemed too sweet to pass up, but her fantasy was interrupted by a gentle siren’s call from beyond the doorway. “Twilight, aren’t you coming?” Twilight could only close her eyes, yelling at herself mentally to run. But she instead took the last step into her awaiting doom, unable to resist the sweet, motherly tone of her mentor.
As the soft click of the door closing behind her hit her ears, Twilight felt yet another piece of her soul die, her heart fell further in her chest, and that self loathing grew just a bit stronger. Reluctantly, she lifted her head, finally working up the nerve to look at the princess. The large alicorn was on her unnecessarily large circular bed. Tomorrow she would have to start anew by repressing today’s events, at least until the next summons came.

She could overpower just about any unicorn in the world with her power, but compared to Celestia, she was an insect. That realization slowly sunk in, leaving Twilight with absolutely no hope. She had always took some solace in that if worse came to worse, she could have escaped by force, but now she knew that had always been a pipedream. A solemn tear slowly formed in Twilight’s eye, and was quickly absorbed by the blindfold.
“Please stop, Princess, I don’t want this...” she murmured. Her sentence was a broken mess, riddled with soft sobs as she pleaded to stop her humiliating torment at the hoof of her mentor. Finally Celestia placed a hoof on Twilight’s flank, causing the bound pony to gasp slightly. She knew what would soon follow. When Twilight awoke, the first thing she noticed was Celestia was not in the bed with her, the second was that she was across the room. The alicorn was staring out the window, while brushing her mane after a long day. The sun was already set, the stars and moon already in their place. The world was filled with the pale glow of moonlight, save for Celestia’s bedroom. A fire crackled softly in the fireplace, giving a warm glow to the white walls of the castle. The gold seemed much less gaudy at night, taking on an orange tinge from the fire. In the dim lighting, it looked more aged, more approachable, and less nauseatingly overbearing. Twilight had never been in this wing at such a late hour. She realized it wasn’t so bad considering this is when Celestia saw it the most, when in its nighttime beauty. She glanced down at the bed, remembering what had transpired a few hours ago on its still soiled sheets. She let out a small sigh, as her self-loathing crept back into her heart.
“Why did I let this happen again?” she asked herself in a soft whisper, crawling to the edge of the bed. Looking over at her distracted mentor, she decided this would be the perfect time to leave. The loud clop seemed to echoed in the room, making more noise than a sonic rainboom. She glared down at her hoof, cursing her lack of grace.
When she looked up, Celestia stood in front of her, cutting off her only escape. The large, imposing figure of the alicorn caused Twilight to shake slightly, as she made herself as small as possible. She knew she was caught. The thought of looking into Celestia’s eyes, and seeing her discontent from Twilight trying to run out on her sent a chill down her spine. All she wanted to do was go home. She was tired, dirty, reeked of Celestia, and she had been thoroughly humiliated, she had enough for one day. But now she was caught trying to flee, how was she going to explain this one?
“Did you plan on leaving so soon? Without so much as a goodbye?” Disappointment sat heavily in her voice, with a small touch of sadness. The princess sounded like Twilight really hurt her feelings, making her feel even worse than she already did.
“I didn’t...want to disturb you...” she lied. Her voice was small, and timid, making Fluttershy look boisterous by comparison. The trapped pony still avoided looking Celestia in the eyes. She thought she might try by burying her gaze deep in the fireplace, hoping the dancing flame would assist her in her plight. After a moment, it became abundantly clear that it would not.
The princess sighed, disappointment filling her eyes. “You have been avoiding me all day. At first your little game was cute, and I played along, but now it’s starting to worry me.” She sat down side by side with her student. When Twilight winced from Celestia brushing against her, she realized something was truly wrong. Twilight had never had a problem with her mentor’s touch before. “Twilight, what’s wrong?” she asked.
“Nothing...” she said plainly, still staring deep into the fire across the room.
“It’s not nothing, tell me.” Celestia continued to probe. Twilight broke her staring contest with the fire, finally glancing up at her mentor. She fought hard to hold the tears in. She wanted to tell her everything, but Twilight wasn’t strong enough. She wanted to tell her how it was her fault Twilight couldn’t be in a healthy relationship, she wanted to tell her it was her fault Twilight hated herself, she wanted to tell her that it was her fault Twilight had no self-esteem, she wanted to tell her it was her fault she gets off on being abused—but she didn’t. Twilight feared Celestia’s wrath more than anything, and telling her would certainly draw it. So she did what came best to her, and hid those feelings deep inside. She locked them in a small mental box, and buried them deep in her mental attic, to dig out and hate herself over once she was home. She could sit up all night, on her bed, crying until she couldn’t cry anymore about how weak and pathetic she was, and how she let Celestia take advantage of her once again. Ending when she finally fell asleep after being too exhausted to even think. And when morning came she would put these memories back in her mental box, and bury it until the next time.
She put on a fake smile, and gave her teacher a reassuring hug. Lil’Twily made her grand appearance again, putting on a fake show for the princess. A royal puppet that shirked any confrontation, and let the princess live blissfully unaware of how her prized student truly felt about their relationship. “It really is nothing, Princess. I just...need to use the restroom.” Twilight lied one final time, feeling a still lingering piece of her soul die off. Her heart sank deep in her chest, leaving a tangible pain digging at her. Utter disgust for a pathetic unicorn that couldn’t even tell the pony who just raped her how she felt filled her mind. Strangely, she was comfortable with these feelings. Twilight felt them every time her special lessons ended, and she had come to know them quite well—like old friends.
Celestia raised a skeptical eyebrow to her student. After a thousand years, she knew when a pony was lying to her. However, she also knew Twilight enough to know when she wouldn’t get a straight answer from her. Reluctantly, she put on a fake smile too, though hers was much more practiced. She wrapped a foreleg and a wing around her beloved student, returning her hug. The two shared a fake moment, wearing fake smiles, in a fake hug, hiding what they didn‘t want to tell each other.
After they pulled away from one another, Celestia raised Twilight’s chin with her hoof. Her lips met the smaller pony’s for a quick kiss, but something wasn’t quite right. She noticed her student squeezing her eyes closed, and holding back a pained expression. She wasn’t enjoying this at all. It broke Celestia’s heart to see Twilight so uncomfortable with her show of affection, but begrudgingly, she chose to ignore it.
A picture was forming as to what Twilight was hiding from her, but Celestia wasn’t too sure if she was ready to admit it to herself. Besides, Twilight would tell her when she was ready to talk about it. And just maybe when that time came, she would have the courage to apologize to Twilight for everything she had done. Hopefully Twilight would have it in her heart to forgive her teacher for being so selfish, and possessive. And by the slightest chance, just maybe they could salvage their relationship. Which relationship that was would be up to Twilight. Be it the surrogate mother–daughter relationship that formed between them, the teacher–student Relationship Celestia took on, the friendship they forged together, or the sexual relationship she forced upon Twilight. Only time would tell.
But for now Celesita bid farewell to her faithful protégé. She realized things wouldn’t remain this way for long as she watched Twilight leave. The feeling that she was on the cusp of losing something precious to her once again dug at her heart; it felt much like when she lost her sister all those years ago to Nightmare Moon. With her bedroom door closing, she wanted to call out, she wanted to stop Twilight, and tell her she was sorry. She wanted to beg her student to forgive her despicable acts—but she didn’t. Asking for forgiveness now would only anger Twilight, driving her away, and that scared Celestia more than anything. So she did what came best, and buried that fear inside her. She locked it in a little box to dig out on days when Twilight was with her. She would relieve the pent-up fear on her student, controlling her, dominating her, making her into the perfect soul mate. A pony who would never leave her side. And when Twilight would go home, she would bury that fear again, too ashamed to talk it over with her beloved student, too ashamed of herself to even apologize for the pain she caused, too ashamed to admit she was wrong, so it’s left unsaid.

So this started as an "I want to do a Celestia x Twilight" fic, and after writing the first paragraph it took on a life of its own. A life full of walls upon walls of text, way too in-depth descriptions, and a tear-jerker ending. I hope you all enjoyed.
