Beneath the Frozen North, under ice and snow, were two condemned souls. One, a king, who ruled the crystal kingdom for their sparkling “gold” and the other, given a destiny that he never was chosen for. But, it seems that fate has damn both, and will favor one to escape these icy walls. It was quiet and still. Then, from the peace there once was, a shout came from darkness filling the whole cave.

“Rraahh, damn you!” the shadow roared with anger.

“I will rip your bones from your...ah,” the king waved off the pointless threat. “No point of wasting my breath.” said Sombra, as he called himself, had just been defeated by the Sisters and a story of old, which he himself thought was just a tale, the Lion. They banished him into the deep core of the Frozen North, here no one would have to fear him again and other garbage Celestia had spewed out. He was more focused on the other two, Luna, the ferocious and more attractive sister, and the Lion of Equestria. Luna seemed more interested on breaking his muzzle and back than talking it out, the Lion, in the other hand was waiting, trying to keep his anger at ease.

It seemed that the Lion wasn't very pleased to see chains on ponies and force to mine against their will for crystals. But now, the so-called hero was trapped with him in this dark prison. He was forced to drag down Sombra with him, since Sombra was “too powerful” and the Sisters were too busy keeping the frozen ground open with their magic, the lion was the only one there to stop Sombra. When he had awoken the Lion laid there unconscious, so he gave himself the liberty to chain the beast to the very end of the cave, just in case he tried anything when he woke up.

Sombra looked at the Lion, inspecting his armor, helm, and height. Sombra had thought that the Lion was an actual lion, guess he was wrong. He seems to be taller than Celestia, but yet no wings or horn. How was this possible? For this stupid brute to be the height of an Alicorn, and have no visible horn to use magic or wings to fly- yet he flew and summoned lightning, but how? Instantly, Sombra remembered: lightning fell from the sky; it hit the Lion, and a blinding a flash occurred-

“Ah…now I remember, you do have a horn and wings,” Sombra said, his voice hushed so that he wouldn't hear him. “But one question remains…how do you keep them hidden?” as he questioned himself he continued to search around the Lion, without touching him, looking for an answer. Meanwhile, the lion slowly gain consciousness; his vision was blurry accompanied by a massive headache, now he knew what his father meant. He slowly looked around to see where he was; at the same time he reached to rub his aching head with a heavy, armored hoof, but was immediately stop by the yank and rattle of a chain. He quickly but painfully moved his head to see what stop his hoof from moving.

As he did this his head began to hurt even more from when it started, he reached with his left hoof and again stop by the same yank as the right. He reacted with the same instinct, quickly turning to see what stop him, but this time ignoring the pain. He looked at his armored hoof bound by an iron shackle or what he could make out due to his eyes still being a bit blurry. The Lion had a mixture of anger, confusion, and pain as these feelings are never to be mix in the same bowl. Again, he began what he originally intended to do, look where he was and find someone. Then, he caught a glimpse of green-red eyes; they were actually just to the side of him watching his armor, so that meant one thing- Sombra was with him.

The Lion began to breathe heavily in his helm. Vapor came out of his nostrils, and was about to yell till Sombra finally spoke.

“You’re awake, great,” Sombra’s voice expressed no emotion, and he was still searching this time touching the Lion with his magic, lifting his surcoat. “Tell me…how do you keep your horn and wings hidden?” Now, his voice showed some interest. Even though his voice sounded interested his face surely didn't. Sombra released the surcoat and stared at the Lion, waiting for the answer.

“Magic…I assume?” His voice was horse, and dry swallowing saliva to make it better. Sombra nodded his head, then placed his hoof on his chin and looked down. After a moment of deep thought Sombra simply shrugged.

“Fair enough,” Sombra turned around and began to walk away not even looking back for the slightest second. The Lion was bewildered and asked him why he had said that. Sombra stopped for a moment, and turned around to face him. “One cannot receive answers from stupid bastards like you, that's why!” Sombra voice filled the cave then faded; he turned and continued his way. The lion stared at Sombra, wanting to shatter his face, but the insult slowly crept away from his mind. He moved his hoofs, and the sounds of rattle filled his mind.

He was still chained to the cave.  His original plan worked, he knew where he was and with- not really the friendliest of people. Now off to plan B, escape. He began to pull with his right, then with the left, with such forced the walls and floor shook. He repeated the process a couple of times, he even used his hind legs, but they were as well bound to the cave. After hours of pulling, nothing broke or even came loose. But, an idea came to his mind. He had remembered about his horn. Horn equals magic. The Lion prepared his head and closed his eyes, for the lightning that gives him his power was blinding.

He waited, probably for a few minutes, but seemed like hours for him. Then, he became tired of waiting and finally opened his eyes, to his surprise the cave was now a live able cottage. A table, decorated with fruits and a single candle in the east side, a fireplace to the west, and a queen size bed close to the fireplace, and down here to the south seemed to be a library like the one back at Canterlot, much smaller though.  There were books in every bookshelf; all had titles and colors in different order and size. The Lion was amazed and forgot all about the pain, confusion, and anger, now only a sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. With his will, he tried to use magic to be able to reach at least one book, but it was no use.

He sighed in defeat and snorted, he let himself hang forward as the shackles hold him. Sombra took notice and walked towards the Lion. He was hanging from the chains, the forelegs stretched back as well as the hind legs. Sombra sighed for a moment then smiled. The sound of a large book crashing into the ground awoke the Lion, startling him from his day dream.

The vibration the book made echoed though the cave, slowly fading. Two small clinks of a quill and ink pot came next, spilling a few drops of ink on the cold floor. The Lion looked up from where the book fell, but only to see Sombra’s dark, smiling face, the glow from his eyes illumining it.

“Here,” Sombra said slightly pushing the book to the Lion. “You can write your memoirs in this.”  The smile was wiped away and only the dark look remained. The Lion raised an eyebrow inside his helm, looked at what was given to him, then stared again at Sombra.

“Why?” Confusion could be heard in his voice. Sombra didn't say a word, and then chuckled.

“So I can have a good laugh when I’m out of here.” He said darkly and left the Lion to himself. The Lejonet stared at the large book, it was new and was big enough to fit four stories. There was no title and nothing was written within the book. He felt excitement in him, he would make a story about his life and his adventures-

"No...no it's never an adventure," He said to himself quietly. "But, a lesson to those who think death is an adventure." He opened the book and began to write.

"The Lion of Equestria" His handwriting was a bit sloppy but readable. He thought about writing his name and agreed to himself to write it down.

"By Storm Crasher" Storm laughed and smiled.

"This is gonna be fun!"
