What makes a pony become a villian? Surely he was not born this way. He enslaved an entire empire, shrouded it in darkness for 1,000 years. Where did he gain this power, why was his hate so strong? Who are you, King Sombra.
King Sombra, ruler of the crystal ponies for 1,000 years. Why does Sombra enslave them? Even evil has a reason for being evil. When the colt leaves school one day, and is brutally jumped by a group of crystal pony schoolboys, he returns to the orphanage to brood. It's not the first time, but it will certainly be the last.
