There was a group of the colts circling around a single pony on the ground. On the ground was a small white coated colt, his mane a bright and bubbly pink. His fur and mane were covered in dirt, and bruises were scattered along his back and sides. The colts had him surrounded from every side, they had clearly been beating on him for a while or they mobbed him quickly, bruising him badly. An older filly with the same white fur ran into the group, her wings flared. She grabbed the colt and pulled him away from his subject of torture, then she threw herself over the little colt. The pegasus filly yelled at the colts around her. “GET AWAY FROM HIM OR I’LL END YOU!!” The crowd scattered instantly, leaving the two ponies alone. After all of the ponies left, she got off of the colt and nuzzled him. “Are you okay Flammy? I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner...” The colt wiped his tear-filled eyes looking up at the filly with a smile. “Thank you Jess I thought they would never stop, they would have killed me if you didn’t show up...” She hugged him as she put him on her back. “They wouldn’t dare. I’ll get them back for this tomorrow. We need to get you home first.” She smiled and nuzzled his cheek. “ I told you that I’d protect you. I wouldn’t be much of an older sister if I didn’t.” He curled up on the pegasus’ back as she carried him home, he was still weeping tears from the horrible incident. “Sis you can’t tell Mom or Dad, okay? They already hate me enough so just keep it a secret okay?” She nodded and let him use her mane as a pillow. “I won’t tell them. Tomorrow will you come with me and point out the ones that hurt you? I’m going to make them regret that...” He shook his head violently. “N-no please don’t, you’ll just make them more mad.” The filly let out a small growl. “You know that I don’t let anypony hurt my family. I’ll protect you from here on out. You can walk with me from class to class so they don’t hurt you. I promise.” He continued to look at her with an uneasy smile. “Please sis just let it go!” Jess let out a small sigh. “Okay... But if they touch you again they will regret it...” Flammy put his head down, laying it on her back once again while sighing in annoyance. “Can we just get home before anypony see’s me like this, I’m a mess.” She let out a small giggle and nodded. “Yeah, are you going to let me put on your makeup again?” He looked at her with a wide smile while his blackened eye twitched. “You know I love it when you put makeup on me!” He giggled and squealed with a large amount of excitement. She let out a giggle and spread out her wings. “Lets fly there!” She took off with the colt on her back, the duo heading towards their home on the outskirts of ponyville. The two had arrived home making a dash for Jessica’s bedroom the minute she opened the front door, The pink-maned colt had never run so fast in his life. The filly walked in at a slower speed. She winced as she heard her parents yelling at each other down the hallway. The pegasus walked into her room, shutting and locking it behind her. “The parents are fighting again...” He looked over to her a smile still on his face, even with the conflict of their parents he still managed to stay happy. “Well at least Mom talks to you and Dad well he’s got a mean punch...” She looks out the door with hatred. “The day I can move out, I’m leaving and taking you with me...” He jumped off her bed going over to her and looking up. “You don’t have to take me with you, I can handle them even if Dad does beat me and mom doesn’t even talk to me.” She shook her head and kissed his forehead. “We will deal with that when it comes. For now let’s give you a makeover!” =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= After a hour of putting eyeliner, lipstick, and other types of makeup on the young colt, Jess took a step back and smiled happily. “You look beautiful Flammy!” He looked at her with a heavy blush covering his cheeks. “You always know just what to do sis.” He hugged her tightly wrapping his forehooves around her neck. Jess returned the hug and kissed her brother on the cheek. “You know what, I’m going to take you out to dinner tonight, would you like to be my date?” She giggled and playfully winked at him. He released himself from their hug stepping back from Jessica. “I don’t wanna. You know I don’t like going out, the colts are all so mean to me! How come only you understand me.” He sighed looking down at the floor, scraping his hoof on the wooden floor. She picked him up and held him closer to her chest. “It’s because they don’t know true beauty when they see it. I bet Auntie Pinkie would love to see your makeup though.” He nuzzled against her still feeling depressed. “She isn’t our Auntie, Jess, she is just really nice to me, I wish more ponies would be like her but wishes don’t come true these days.” A single tear went down the pegasus’ cheek as she held the colt closer to her. “Wishes do come true, sometimes they just take longer than others...” He looked up to her kissing her cheek as the tear slid down it. “Let’s not get upset Sis we have each other. Our parents may be the worst ones in Equestria, but that doesn’t mean we have to be like them; depressed, angry, and unhappy. I hope we do get away from this one day...But for now we protect each other no matter what.” The young colt looked into her eyes with a glimmer of hope, like a sparkle in the night sky. The filly nodded and hugged him tighter. “Can you please sleep in here tonight? I don’t want to be away from you.” His ears perked up a little as the yelling had stopped, he nodded at Jessica with a wide smile. “I don’t wanna go out there at all tonight, I’m to scared Dad will take his rage out on me again so yes please.” Jess barely held back her tears and picked up Flammy. “Lets get some sleep.” She carried him to the bed and laid down in it with her little brother. “Good Night Bro. Tomorrow will be better, I promise.” He pulled the Stripped Bed sheets over the two of them snuggling close to his beloved sister, wrapping his hooves as far as he could around her body. “Night Jess and I hope you’re right...” The two cuddled up warmly as they drifted off into and deep and long sleep. Chapter 2: Things will get better, right? To Make a Mare of a Stallion Chapter 2: Things will get better, right? Suddenly a loud bang came from the other side of the door, waking up both Jess and Flamboyant. He looked at Jess as he shook violently. “S-sis what was that?” He pulled himself closer to her, making sure he was nice and safe. She shook her head, looking at the door. “No clue...” He continued to cower in her chest fur, his body still shaking violently. “Maybe if we hide it’ll go away?” Jess shook her head. “I’m going to make sure it’s not an animal breaking in. Stay in here, okay?” He protested, holding her hoof firmly with a strong expression of sadness on his face. “N-No he could eat you or hurt you!” She giggled and rubbed his head, ruffling his mane. “Chances are it won’t eat me, and you know I can hold up my own fight. I’ll be fine bro.” She stood up and unlocked the door, then walked outside it and shut it behind her. Flam Sat in his bed uncomfortably as he watched the door, not letting his eyes off it for a second. He was hoping his sister would return as quickly as possible. Flam hated being alone, even if he was in her room, it was cold and dark. Flammy sat up in the bed keeping the blanket around his short fur for warmth. A few minutes later a scream came from outside the door, and Flammy recognized it at Jess’ scream. He made a bolt for the door making the blanket he was hidden under land on the floor. He opened the door running out in a panic looking for his Screaming sister. “Jess! Jess! Where are you?!” The colt continued to yell and run up and down the hallway in confusion. He was panicking alot more than he normally would, he wanted to make sure his sister was okay. “Jess!” Flam heard a quieter scream from one of the guest bedrooms. He opened it to find that their father had Jess pinned down on the bed, and he was doing something to her that a father should never do to his daughter. She looked over to Flam, tears running down her cheek. “P-Please help me!” He ran over to the bed and climbed up it weakly. He started pushing at his fathers hoof with all his might, he wasn’t about to just let this happen. “Get off her Dad! What the hay is wrong with you!?” He pushed as hard as he could against the dark brown stallion’s hoof, in hope he would topple him and save his sister. The stallion turned his attention to the little colt. He punched Flam, knocking the little colt down to the floor with a hard slam. Flam became heavily winded after the hit getting up with a limp as he looked up at his father with disgust. “G-G-Get off of her you jerk...” He coughed violently, his breathing becoming more heavy as he struggled to stay up after the heavy blow to the flooring. The distraction was long enough for Jess to take her shot. She slammed both of her rear hooves into her father, using all of the force she could. Her father was sent into the wall, leaving a big crack in the wooden walls. Flam’s father stood up and looked at the filly and colt with anger.“You little pieces of crap, get your flank back here or I will kill you both!” Jess picked up her hurt brother, bolting to her room as fast as she could, holding onto to Flam to make sure she wouldn’t drop him. As she opened the door, she turned to see her father fall on the ground in the hallway. She looked at him with a sly grin. “You fat old stallion, I wish you were never my father!” She ran inside and shut the door, then locked it. Flam was holding onto his sister tightly, his eyes were firmly closed as he shook in fear. A light trickling sound could be heard as Flam groaned in pain. “S-Sis my Arm really hurts...” His voice was becoming more faint. As he spoke the trickling sound was becoming more frequent as his right forehoof dropped from her back to her side, making blood drip on the floor into a puddle. With each passing second the puddle got larger and larger, and Jess realized she had to do something now. She opened her closet and pulled out an old shirt, and ripped it in half. The filly used half of it as a bandage while holding pressure on the wound. She carefully lifted him up onto her bed, making sure that the injured leg is propped up on a pillow. Jess wiped a tear away with a forehoof. “A-Are you feeling alright Flammy?” He looked up at his sister. He was feeling quite faint blood loss, this had happened to him and his sister a few times but Flam has never started bleeding from such a heavy blow to his body before. “S-Sis I feel dizzy....” She hugged him tight, making sure to not touch his hoof. She knew that he needed to get to the Hospital soon, but she was worried that he would be scared like the last time this happened. “W-Want to go for a walk? You can ride on my back.” She smiled and kissed him on the forehead. “It’ll be fun. We can look at the stars and we will be away from dad.” He once again used his energy to faintly smile at his sister, gripping her hoof gently as he coughed violently. “P-Please get me out of this hell hole....” His grip loosened from his sister’s hoof as his eyes slowly drifted shut. She put him on her back and opened the door. When she opened it, their father caught the door. Jess turned around and kicked him in the jaw, making him fall back on his flank with a loud thump. The filly bolted to the front door with her little brother on her back, and smiled as she exited the building. She opened her wings and flew towards the hospital as fast as she could. “We will be there soon Flammy... You will be alright...” Flam’s breathing was getting heavier and his ability to stay conscious was becoming a harder thing to do with each passing moment. He looked at his sister one last time before resting his head on her back. “I-If I die what’s to say anypony would care anyway.......” He found himself getting more comfortable with his own death. He had never been popular or had an easy time making friends, plus his parents being the massive jerks they were. To him living seemed pointless. He could just let his life drop here and he would be happy with that but his death was unlikely to happen, as his sister had a strong love for him and would never let such a thing happen to her beloved brother. Jess kept flying, tears running out of the corners of her eyes. “I-I would care. I l-love you Flammy, you are my only brother. I never want to lose you...” She increased her speed as the hospital came into view. “W-We are almost there Flammy! You’re going to be okay.” As the two entered the front door of the hospital, Jess yelled out, her voice quickly filling the entire room, making most of the ponies inside turn their attention to Jess.. “Please help! My brother is hurt!” A few seconds later, a nurse ran up to them with a Gurney. She put him in the bed and ran him into the back with Jess in tow. By the time they reached the room, there were a few nurses hooking up machinery to him. A nurse pushed her out of the room and nodded towards her. “I’ll get you when he is okay sweetie.” She looked past the nurse to see the doctor putting his hoof against the colt’s foreleg. “His heart rate is slowing!” The nurse shut the door to the room and turned her attention to Flam. “Doctor,he’s lost a lot of blood. He needs a transfusion ASAP!” Jess had no clue what was happening. She was staring through the window as the nurses began to pump blood into his body. A nurse put her hoof against his neck and looked towards the filly in the window, then back towards the doctor. “He doesn’t have a pulse! Chapter 3: Spending a night away from hell.To Make a Mare of a Stallion Chapter 3: Spending a Night Away From Hell. Blood. That’s all Jess could see through the window before a nurse pulled her back and took her to the waiting room. By the time they reached the waiting room, Jess was screaming for the nurse to drop her. “LET ME BE WITH MY BROTHER!” The nurse shook her head and put her in a seat. “I’ll get you when it is okay for you to visit him.” Jess looked at the nurse, tears running down her face. “Didn’t you hear them... He has no pulse. My brother is dead!” She wrapped her hoof over the filly’s shoulder while looking down at her. “He’s not dead, his condition just caused him to lose a lot more blood than we expected. He’s in critical condition right now so no visitors, I’m sorry.” The filly hugged the nurse, her tears running into the nurse’s fur. “W-What if he dies? I l-love him... I d-don’t know what I would do without m-my brother...” She hugged her back, gently stroking her mane while trying to comfort the crying filly. “He won’t die sweetie, we will make sure of that.” “B-But... W-What about the bill... My p-parents won’t pay for it...” She wiped the tears from her face, her eyes red from the crying. She smiled at the filly looking over to the front desk before looking back to her. “Don’t you worry about the bill honey, I’ll take care of it.” She ruffled the filly’s mane continuing to smile at her. “You can go see your brother in a bit, I’ll make sure you’re the first one in there.” Jess sniffled a bit before hugging the nurse tighter. “T-Thank you... S-So much... What’s y-your name?” “I’m Nurse Redheart. It’s lovely to meet you honey, and what would your name be?” The filly smiled a bit and looked up at Nurse Redheart. “My name is Jessica, but everypony calls me Jess.” She got up from the chair she was sitting on, offering Jessica her hoof. “Come on, I’ll take you to go see your brother. It’s the least I can do, you’ve been though a lot tonight.” Jess grabbed her hoof and let out a squeal of excitement. “Thank you!” She lead Jessica down the hallway. It took a little while to get to the end of the hall but once they did they came to door number twenty two. She opened the door, letting Jessica inside. “Just be quiet, I don’t want to get in trouble.” She closed the door quietly leaving the two alone. She put her front hooves on the side of the bed and looked at Flammy. He had an oxygen mask on, and he had a heart rate meter hooked up to him along with a couple of IVs. She laid her head on his chest and whispered quietly. “I’m glad you aren’t dead... You are the most important pony in my life...” His eyes opened weakly looking down at his sister. he was too weak to talk but he simply rested his hoof on her mane and stroked it gently, a weak smile rising up on his face. She looked at his face and smiled. Jess climbed on the bed beside him and hugged him with all four hooves. “I love you Flammy.” He found enough energy in himself to talk. “Love you too Sis....Guess this is the worst dad has ever beaten me down to right?” He started breathing heavily, continuing to stroke his sister’s mane. She hugged him tighter and nuzzled his cheek. “It’s okay, I won’t let him hurt you any more...” “T-Thanks Sis that means a lot....” He took another deep breath, looking down at her. “Now you go home...I don’t want to see mom and dad come down here and take you away by force. Mom still loves you, she’ll protect you from dad....Or just lock yourself in your room. Just don’t worry about me.....” She sniffled and kissed his cheek. “O-Okay... If y-you need anything then as f-for Nurse Redheart, o-okay?” “I’ll let her know as soon as I need you or anything else....” Jess let go of her brother and stood up, then made her way to the door. “B-Bye Flammy...” “Bye Jess, be sure to visit okay?” He looked at her with a faint smile before laying his head back and closing his eyes to rest himself. Jess opened the door and shut it behind her, leaving the room in complete silence, aside from the repetitive beep from the heart rate meter. =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= He sat up in bed, pulling the oxygen mask from his face as he started to breathe normally again. Flammy’s face and mane were messy, though the make-up his sister had applied the same night was still in perfect condition. “Jess, what would I do without you....?” He turn his head to the right, picking up a small bowl of water left by Nurse Redheart. The colt looked at his reflection with a sigh. “So this is my life now huh? Being a mare-like stallion, that part I’ll always love. It’s all thanks to my sister, she takes such great care of me... She’s even nice enough to put make-up on me. That’s the sort of thing that’s hard to find in a loving sister...” He smiled once again, eyeing himself in the watery reflection. “I Guess I’m gonna be here for a while. Of course my parents won’t care. What’s the point in thinking they would. They never have, never will....” He continued to look into the water. He could see the rage building in his eyes. “J-Just forget this stupid life that I call my own!” He threw the bowl of water to the side, his rage causing him to tear up and cry. “My life is crap and will always be that way......” A click sound came from the door as it opened, and a worried Nurse Redheart entered the room. “Is everything okay?” She looked at the tears on your face, then the water spilled on the ground. “What’s wrong Flamboyant?” “My life is what’s wrong!” The tears running down his face caused the make-up to smudge and blur, making his once-clean face a colourful mess. The nurse sighed and picked up a wet washcloth, then wiped the makeup off of your face. “But you have such a loving sister, and I bet your parents care about you too.” “My dad beats me on a daily basis and my mother hasn’t spoken a word to me since I started wearing make-up with my sister, so she’s the only family I have......” His head dropped in silence, tears dripping down from his face. She rubbed his shoulder and sighed. “It’ll be okay, I won’t let your father get close to you. I’m guessing you want Jess to be allowed in here at any time, right?” “Yes, Jessica is allowed in any time but if my parents are with her keep them out.......” Redheart nodded and walked over to the door. “Of course. I need to go check on the patient in the next room over, do you need any food or another pillow?” “A new family for me and my sister is all I want......” He laid his head down on the pillow yawning as he felt his eyes grow heavy. “I need to rest......” Nurse Redheart nodded and opened the door. “Okay, good night Flam.” She left the room and closed the door, once again leaving the room in silence that is broken by the beep of the machines hooked up to the small colt. Chapter 4: Leaving the past behind. To Make a Mare of a Stallion Chapter 4: Leaving the past behind. The hospital night life was dull and boring. The young pink-maned colt was laying in his bed and his body was motioning back and forth in his sleep as he tried to get comfy. He woke up from his sleep, moving himself so he was laying on his back. His eyes were scanning the dark ceiling in boredom and curiosity. The tedious sound of the monitor beeping next to him was just another nitpick of him being stuck in the hospital. ”So this is what my life has come to, an annoying beeping sound every second to let me know I’m alive and the dead silence of this empty room.....I wish I didn’t send Jess away. Then at least I would have had somepony here to make me happy, she always knew what to say to keep me smiling, sometimes even just the smallest things made me smile, like putting makeup on my face or kissing my bruises. She was the mother I’d always wanted.....” As if on cue, there was a tapping noise at the window. He pulled himself up, sitting up he turned his head to the window where he heard the noise. from Flam’s position, all he could see was a white hoof. Jess’ face popped up on the other side of the window, and she tried to lift the window up. Flam could see that the window was locked, but Jess couldn’t see the pin holding the window shut. He climbed down from his bed slowly trying not to make his bloody hoof worse, he limped his way over to the window. The colt grabbed a small box cardboard box from the corner of the room and pushed it up against the window. He removed the pin, unlocked the window, and pushed it open for Jess. “Hey there little bro! How are you doing?” The filly climbed through the window, landing her hooves on the other side of the window. She picked him up and put him back in bed. Jess climbed in the bed beside Flam, and turned her attention to him. He slightly shook his head while looking at her. “I’m okay, but I’m still not use to being alone like this....I’m not like any other little colt who would be begging for mommy and daddy to take me home, no I’m stuck out here alone, and I have the worst parents ever...... Sis why don’t they love me?” She let out a small sigh and nuzzled her little brother. “It’s because they don’t appreciate you for who you are... And they are wrong. You are the cutest pony I know, and you deserve better than this...” He couldn’t help but smile at his sisters comment. “T-Thank you Jess, I can always count on you to make me smile, even when I am down in the dumps and depressed....” She smiled and hid something behind her back. “I’ll always be there for you bro. You are the best thing to come into my life. Plus, I got a surprise for you, and I think you will like it...” His eyes widened and he looked at her, even happier than before. “A surprise for me? What did I do to deserve a surprise? Besides get my self beat up and in hospital again...” His happiness faded again as the thought of being beaten once again entered his mind. She frowned and pulled a little bag out from behind her, then put it in between the two. She smiled a little and reached into the bag. “Guess what’s in it...” “Umm a train ticket so we can leave?” He looked up from the bag and back at Jess. She shook her head and pulled out her makeup. A large smile appeared on Flam’s face as he saw the makeup, the one thing he loved almost as much as his sister.. “Sorry little bro, but it’s the next best thing. I am saving up for some tickets though, so I can get you out of this place....” He pushed the bag aside, darting forward while wrapping his sister in a tight and loving hug. “Thank you Jess I love it, It’s the best thing you could ever get me!” He giggled releasing his hug sitting back from his loving hug. She smiled and pulled out the makeup. “Okay, so do you want me to put it on you?” She grinned and pulled the lid off of some pink lipstick. She already knew the answer, but she loved to see him excited. “I don’t need to tell you how to do it, you know how I like it right?” He smiled sitting himself up straight making himself nice and comfy while his sister worked on him. “ Yep. Pink lipstick, black eyeliner, blush, and that small swirl behind your eyes that you love.” She smiles and begins to apply the makeup, bringing joy to the little colt. =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= A couple of hours had passed and the two were still awake, chatting and giggling to each other. They were both enjoying being with each other once again. Even though they were enjoying themselves, the sun started to rise outside, making the beams of light come through the blinds by the window. Flam looked at Jessica with a sigh. “You better go home, Mom and Dad will be worried if you aren’t in bed this morning...” Jess shook her head and looked at him. “Screw Mom and Dad, they don’t know that you are here, and they don’t know I’m here so we are good.” She looked at Flam and shook her head. “You look so beautiful... And look at me, I’m a mess!” She motioned to her face and her lack of makeup. He couldn’t help but giggle at his sister, she was right. Her face was rather messy, but he seemed to shove that thought aside and wrap his forehooves around his sister in a tight hug once again. “You’ll always look beautiful to me Jess, and nothing will ever change that.” He smiled. snuggling in Jess’s Chest fur. Jess let out a small giggle and hugged her brother. “You always make me feel beautiful Flammy-Wammy!” She giggled a little after saying the nickname that Flam didn’t like one bit. Flam looked at her with a cute pout on his face. “Don’t call me that.” He pushed her playfully. “You know I don’t like that, it’s Flam or Flammy plain and simple.” He couldn’t help but blush in embarrassment from the silly nickname. “Fine, fine, but I’m going to call you want I want to mister!” She put on a serious face, but then burst into laughter from her remark. Flammy joined in on her laughter but both were interrupted by yelling and stomping down the hallway. An angry-sounding voice yelled at another pony, and the two could mostly hear what he said. “They are my children! I’m allowed to see them, don’t make me …., trust me I will!” The angry stallion’s voice was then met with a softer, but equally loud voice. “I said you can not go in there sir. He is in critical condition and any intrusion could hurt him. If you want, I can give him a message.” The stallion retorted back at who they guessed was Nurse Redheart. “I don’t care about that rotten excuse for a colt! I’m here for my daughter. Now move before things get violent.” The two foal looked at each other and then back at the door. Jess was the first to speak. “That’s Dad... We need to get out of here. Nurse Redheart can’t hold him back for long...” He climbed out of his bed, pushing the box back under the window. He opened it once again and looked back at his sister who was still on the bed. “We leave now and never turn back...” He turned back, looking out the open window. The morning sunlight was beaming against his clean white coat. “Please Sis now is are only chance to escape let’s just leave and forget our family.....” She looked back at the door and then to the window. “O-Okay... Let’s go...” Chapter 5: Rails of hope.center]To Make a Mare a Stallion Chapter 5:Rails of hope. It was a cool summers morning and the grass was wet and the sun was lo[w as Flam and Jess climbed out of the small hospital window. They both landed on the wet grass after making a small jump to get down, and the moment Jess landed next to Flam he turned to her with a smile. “We’ll make our way to the train station and try to escape from there.” She shook her head, then lifted the small colt onto her back. “We need to get out of here now.” She spread out her wings and took off towards the train station in the distance. =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= Jessica could see the train station a few hundred yards in the distance. She could almost count down the distance to the station. Five hundred feet. Four hundred. Three hundred. One hundred fifty. Fifty feet. Ten feet. Jessica’s hooves made contact with the gravel as her wings flared out to both sides, stopping her almost instantly. She kept a small jog when she landed so that she didn’t lose the passenger on her back. “Well Flammy Boy, we are here.” She giggled a bit after using Flamboyant’s humiliating nickname. He slowly climbed off her back grunting as his hoof made contact with the floor, looking up at Jess with a pout on his face. “I told you not to call me that.” His pout quickly turned into a smile as he wrapped his hooves around her hugging her with a giggle. “Thanks for getting me out of there Jess...” She giggled a little and picked up her little brother. “Heh I told you that I’ll always be here for you. ‘Brother and sister together forever’, remember?” She smiled and trotted to the ticket booth, “W-Wait Jess.” He tugged at her leg getting her attention. “We don’t have any bits to pay for a ticket. How are we gonna get on the train?” Jess stopped in mid trot. “I didn’t think about that... Well I have fifteen bits on me right now.” She tapped on the ticket booth. “Excuse me, how much are two one-way tickets to Las Pegasus?” His eyes widened at his sister’s words tugging her hoof harder this time. “Are you mad Jess? What would we even do in such a place? wouldn’t we be safer going to Canterlot and finding our place there? Las Pegasus has to man gambling ponies and such no place for a filly and colt.” She thought for a second then turned to the booth worker, a mare with cream fur and a long red mane. “Never Mind, how much are two one-way tickets to Canterlot?” The mare working the booth looked at her chart. “It will be ten bits each, so twenty bits. The next train will leave in a couple of hours though.” Jess looked down at her small bit pouch. Fifteen bits. She thanked the mare working the booth then turned to Flammy. “We need five more bits. Do you think Pinkie would give us the bits?” He looked at her with a smile. “We could try, I mean if mom and dad catch us then are whole plan is ruined, but we need to leave, so let’s go find Pinkie.” He said with a valiant smile. She giggled and rubbed his mane. “Okay Flammy the Knight. Lead the way!” She put him on her back and giggled a bit before taking off towards Sugarcube Corner =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= After trotting from the train station to the main town of Ponyville, the filly and colt made their way to Sugarcube Corner. If anypony could help them now it had to be the most friendly mare in Equestria, Pinkie Pie. Even if she wasn’t willing to part with the bits required to leave, the two could still enjoy some time with their favourite mare in all of Ponyville. Jessica slowly walked into Sugarcube Corner with Flam on her back. She looked around until she noticed the pink-maned mare arguing with a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail on which cupcake was the best. The two seemed quite serious about the conversation. Not wanting to interrupt, Flam climbed off his sisters back and walked over to the two arguing mares. He raised his hoof up to Pinkie, poking her chest with a gentle prod. “Umm excuse me Pinkie….” He always seemed to be shy around the mare, Pinkie being one of a few who accepted Flam’s way of life without question. Her hyperactive attitude didn’t scare the young colt, although it did at times make him feel uncomfortable. In what seemed like half a second, Pinkie had quickly gone from full blown argument to the same lovable pink poofy mare everypony knew and enjoyed being around. She looked down with a wide smile, almost instantly grabbing Flam in a tight and warm hug while he hugged back with a wide smile. “Flammy! It’s been ages since I’ve seen you! How are you!” She almost deafened the colt by how loud she was sometimes. He looked up at her shyly, his wide smile still plastered on his face. “I-I’m good Pinkie...How have you been?” He felt awkward asking her but he had to break the social ice somehow. “Well Flammy I’ve been great! Me and Rainbow Dash were arguing about which cupcake was best, I still say that chocolate is better.” Rainbow Dash almost burst forward her hind hooves flailing in the air as she kicked into the argument again. “I told you Pinkie Pie! The Rainbow Cupcakes are the best simply for being based off my awesomeness.” The rainbow-maned pony’s ego made Flam sigh. He was never a fan of her and never would be, not as long as that ego of her’s was still there. He returned his line of sight to Pinkie Pie, hoping she wouldn’t be too busy arguing. He tried pulling the cutest face he could, making his sister giggle at his silly face. “Auntie Pinkie...” She returned her sight to him looking down once more. “Yes Flammy?” She raised a brow, curious as to why he was pulling such a silly and cute face. Not wanting to question him, she simply smiled awaiting his question. “Me and Jess are leaving Ponyville, we’re going to Canterlot to get away from our parents and well... I know you won’t let me go, because you care about us and we’re too young to run away from home and such but please Pinkie….” Before he could even bat an eye, the pink mare had placed him back down and took a moment to run behind the counter before returning to him with a small bag. He looked inside it and to his delight there was a large stash of cupcakes and drinks. He looked up at Pinke with a smile, jumping into her hooves while hugging her tight. “Thank you Auntie Pinkie!” Jessica was starting to feel left out and was obviously getting bored of standing at the door so she walked over to her brother who was occupied hugging Pinkie Pie, she took a moment to look in the bag, her own face filling with a wide smile. “W-Wow Pinkie you’ve given us so much thank you but won’t you get in trouble with Mr & Mrs Cake?” She raised a brow thinking ahead before taking such a large bag of treats. After she had finished her tight hug with Flam she placed him back on the ground turning her sight to Jessica. “Oh no It’s no problem! I’ll make sure to take the bill out of my own bits!” Jess Kicked the ground with her hoof feeling bad for asking for more bits knowing the mare just gave them what looked like a very expensive set of goodies. “Uh Pinkie we came here because well…..We don’t have the bits to pay our way to Canterlot and we were hoping you might help us?” Flam not wanting to leave his sister alone in her stand to ask for bits, stood next to her with a smile “Please Auntie Pinkie…” Pinkie Pie now looking down at the filly and colt, placed a hoof upon her chin tapping it with a quick pace. After a short time she placed her hoof on the ground she trotted back behind the counter and opened the register. She looked over to the colt and filly with a smile. “Okay how many bits do you need?” She clearly was breaking the rules but she seemed determined to help the two of them, so she just stood by and smiled awaiting their answer. Flam stepped forward before his sister could, simply not wanting to take more than was needed. “Ten bits should be enough Pinkie, thank you….” The pink mare placed the bits into a small leather pouch after grabbing it from under the counter. After the bag was full she closed the counter, placing the bits in the bag of treats. “Good luck to you both, I’ll miss you so please come back and see me again. I’ll throw you a party when you get back!” She smiled hugging Flam and Jess before placing them on the ground. =>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<= After a short trot the two had returned to the train station, their saddlebags full of goodies and bits. They walked back onto the train platform, wide smiles on both their faces. Jess walked up to the ticket seller, who was a large stallion this time. His coat was a light brown with a grey mane and eyes to match. Placing the twenty bits on the counter, she placed the five bits she had left back into her saddle bag. “Two one-way tickets to Canterlot please.” The Stallion collected the bits, placing them into the till. He printed out the tickets and passed the two tickets to the filly. “Enjoy your trip you two.” He smiled at them giving them a nod. Flam jumped in excitement, hugging his sister while letting out a giggle. “We get to go to Canterlot and leave this hellhole forever!” Jess hugged her brother back with an even bigger smile than before. “I told you we would get help from Auntie Pinkie!” The two walked up to the train, showing their tickets to the conductor. He nodded, approving their entry to the train. After walking inside the two climbed into their seats. As they got comfy Flam grabbed his sister in a tight hug. “Thank you Jess...You’ve made me the happiest colt in Equestria!” After a couple minutes of the colt and filly getting comfy the train started to move. The engineers of the train gave the horn a loud toot as they began moving. It was a long journey ahead and this was just the beginning.
Chapter 1: How it all began. To Make a Mare of a Stallion Chapter 1: How it all began All that could be heard behind the schoolhouse was the laughter of colts.
“O-Okay... Let’s go...”
Chapter 5: Rails of hope.center]To Make a Mare a Stallion Chapter 5:Rails of hope.
