Vinyl woke to the first rays of the rising sun hitting her in the face like a door. Her head was pounding like she'd been hit in the face with a hammer over and over again. Vinyl loved parties, she wished her life could be just like one big party all the time but she hated the hangovers. She would rather fight changelings than deal with a hangover any day of the week. She looked over to see the two other ponies in her bed still sleeping. She got up slowly, making sure not to wake them, and slowly got out of bed and moved to the kitchen.
An hour later, back in the bedroom, Wubsy woke with a pain in her head. Trying to think of what had happened the night before, she remembered a pink pony throwing a party. It was like the whole town was there. Well, knowing the pink pony, they all really were there. She’d remembered Vinyl and Octavia helping her get home from all the drinks she had that night. She looked to her side to see Octavia sleeping and Vinyl gone.She got to her hooves and made her way out of the bedroom to see Vinyl sitting at the table drinking tea.
"What happened last night and why can’t I remember?" Wubsy asked, trying to clear her head.
"Morning party animal," Vinyl said with a smirk.
"Why does my head feel like it’s being rammed into the same door over and over again?" She asked, trying to keep her balance.
"That's what we call a hangover. It helps to sit down," Vinyl said, offering Wubsy a seat. Wubsy sat down, finding it hard to keep her head up.
"When you have too much to drink, you don't really feel much until the next morning. As for last night, Pinkie put two parties together. Your ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ party and your ‘Thank you for saving Ponyville’ party. The hangover will go away over time." Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"I’ll get it,” Octavia said from the bedroom. She must have just woken up because she had to fix her hair before opening the door. To her surprise, she saw a mint colored pony with a white and light blue mane.
"Hello Octavia," Lyra said with a weak smile on her face.
"Hello Lyra. What brings you by?" Octavia asked, trying to keep her head up from her hangover. The sun came brightly through the door and burned her eyes like fire. She wished she had a pair of sunglasses like Vinyl’s at the time, but she fought through the pain.
"I’m just checking on you, Vinyl, and Wubsy after last night’s party. Are you okay?" She asked with concerned look on her face.
"I’m fine. I’m just fighting my worst hangover yet, that's all. Speaking of hangovers, if I remember right, you had more to drink than Vinyl did last night, so how come you’re out and about?” She asked, noticing that Lyra looked fine, which was hard to believe based on what had happened during the party last night.
"That's because Pinkie Pie helped with my hangover. She has a drink for it, but it tastes horrible," Lyra said a bit too loud, causing Octavia to hold her head in an attempt to stop the pounding ache.
"Do you want me to go get Pinkie to help with the hangover?" Asked Lyra.
“That would be lovely,” Octavia said with a weak smile. “Thanks.”
“I’ll be right back," Lyra said as she trotted off into town. Octavia closed the door and then slowly walked into the kitchen.
"Morning Tavi, who was that at the door?" Vinyl asked, looking with one eyebrow up in question.
Octavia sat down next to Vinyl and Wubsy with her head face-down on the table, unable to hold it up anymore.
"It was Lyra. She was stopping by to make sure that we were okay from the party last night. I told her we were fine as can be with killer hangovers. Speaking of which, how are you able to keep your head up?"
Octavia lifted her head up to see that Vinyl was not in as much pain as her or Wubsy. She saw Wubsy fighting the pain of the hangover as hard as she could, still very new to the feeling of the hangover. Even though it was not her first time drinking, she never drank so much at one time before.
"I party a lot, so I know how to deal with a morning hangover. It hurts, just not as much as it used to," Vinyl said as she took a sip of her tea.
"I see. Anyway, Lyra said she’d be back with Pinkie Pie to help with the pain.” Octavia said, trying to get her face off the table. Wubsy smiled, happy to know that she was getting something to help with the pain.
Half an hour later, Lyra came back with Pinkie Pie, who had a bag with what Wubsy hoped was some kind of painkiller. Pinkie came into the kitchen, and, seeing the two ponies and changeling sitting at the table, she spoke in a low tone as to not put them in more pain.
"Morning Vinyl, Octavia, Wubsy. Lyra said you were in pain, so I made my hangover juice. Well, it’s not juice because juice tastes good and this doesn't taste good also it doesn't really get rid of your hangover and hmmmm.”
Lyra put a hoof over the pink pony mouth and said, "What she is trying to say is ‘drink this it helps.’" Pinkie nodded her head then began to take out a baggie that read After Party. Vinyl got three cups out the kitchen and placed them on the table and Pinkie poured the drink into the cups.
"Okay, drink all of it. It’s easier if you do it fast, like a shot." Wubsy and Octavia looked at the dark green colored drink. "Bottoms up," Vinyl said as she took the drink in one shot.
After a moment of hesitation, Octavia and Wubsy did the same."What time is it?" Octavia asked.
"It’s about two," Pinkie said. Noticing what time she said it was, she added, "I forgot, I have to open up for the cakes. They’re out of town for the week and I have to watch the shop. See you girls later. I hope that helped with the hangover," Pinkie said as she hopped out the door.
"Well, it’s almost time for our practice. Lyra and I should get going or we’re going to be late. Let’s go Lyra," Octavia said as she trotted out the door with Lyra behind her.
"See you later Tavi," Vinyl said as Octavia left.
"Okay, so what do you want to do now Vinyl?" Wubsy asked as she put her cup away.
"I say we have some fun," Vinyl said with a devious smile on her face.
Rainbow Dash was sleeping on a cloud as always. Everypony in Ponyville knew there were only two places to find her; on a cloud or at Sweet Apple Acres sleeping in a tree.
"You ready Wubsy?" Vinyl asked in a quiet voice. Wubsy nodded, ready to start as she flew into the sky. Wubsy’s body was surrounded by a emerald fire, slowly changing her form into that of an orange colored filly with a purple mane.
"Rainbow Dash! Rainbow Dash, wake up!" shouted the filly.
Rainbow woke, rubbing her eyes. "Scoots, is that you? How did you get up here?" Rainbow asked, shocked to see the young filly on her cloud.
“I flew up here." Rainbow Dash, stunned by what she said, was unable to speak. Vinyl, unable to hold it in, burst out laughing.
"Vinyl! Too soon," said Scootaloo as she looked over the cloud.
"Wha? What’s going on here?" rainbow asked, trying to find out why Scoots would be hanging out with Vinyl. "I’m sorry, I just couldn't hold it in anymore! Did you see Rainbow’s face? Priceless!" Vinyl exclaimed as she was continued to giggle like a school filly.
There was a flash of flame that surrounded Scootaloo, changing back to Wubsy "Hey Rainbow." Wubsy said with a sheepish smile.
"We got you good Rainbow," Vinyl said, getting back to her hooves.
Rainbow starting to get what was going on, "I never took you as a prankster Wubsy. Good one, but don't think I won’t get you back for this."
Vnyl had been so busy with their prank on Rainbow that she lost track of time. "Hey Wubsy, Rainbow, I would love to stay, but I’m running late. I’ll see you at home Wubsy, later," Vinyl said as she trotted off.
"So Wubsy, when you change form, do you copy everything about them, or just their voice and appearance?" Rainbow asked curiously.
"I copy everything there is about them, why do you ask?” asked Wubsy.
Rainbow’s smile grew wide as she heard the answer she was looking for. "Good, can you change into me? If I can race myself, I could test my speed to see how much progress I have gotten so far. If you’re up for it that is," said Rainbow.
Wubsy was confused. "You want to race me?”
