Why Did This Even Happen?

Claw didn't know much about what he was plotting. Nor did he care. He simply wanted blood.
He was a Greymon, but in no way friendly to others all the time. Claw was heavily scarred, mentally, emotionally, and physically, and it showed. His eyes revealed nothing about him, his skin was not calloused, but still heavily scarred. He was the size of a pony, but with a lot more attitude, and a higher level of intelligence and ingenuity. His journey from his egg clutch to Equis had been a hellish one.
Claw had lived a tortured life.
He'd been born several years ago, and was the only one of his clutch to actually hatch. When he did, he saw another Digimon in front of him; Claw didn't remember what species the creature was. The Greymon had quickly realized what was about to happen, and swiftly avenged his unborn siblings. As he feasted, Claw realized he had no mother or father to speak of. They had died, too. This left the newborn orphaned and without siblings, but Claw swiftly adapted to his environment; within a few years he was able to topple other Digimon that were far stronger than him. He developed the skills he needed to survive, and did so for many years. He eventually rose to the top of the food chain, sealing his place as the alpha predator.
Then, just like that, his world ended.
A black hole came along, and swallowed up Claw's home world. The Greymon was lucky enough to somehow survive; he was sucked into the black hole but was quickly blasted out of a white hole. He fell into Equis's atmosphere, somehow surviving long enough to collide with... A cloud.
Claw couldn't understand this at first, but he then realized that he had been shrunken down a bit. In the distance, he saw some sort of structured area, which he soon learned was Cloudsdale.
In his words, "They should change their name to Speciestdale."
Upon his arrival in this mysterious area, Claw met the local, dominant species: Ponies. More specifically, Pegasi, which dominated the clouds. They did not take kindly to him. After a few seconds of being within the city, Claw was the most hated life-form within Cloudsdale. The hatred was unrelenting; all anyone wanted was for him to die. Then, he got an opportunity to, in the words of the Cloudsdale official that had informed him, "Prove yourself semi-useful."
