Whooves and Flicker: volume one- welcome to Equestria!
"Nonononono!" The Doctor ran about, pulling levers and pushing buttons. The TARDIS was crashing in an unknown
place, and it just had to happen when he was about to regenerate. As he finished the process he thought would get him to earth...Golden energy swirled around him, and he dropped to his knees.
Darkness closed in as he blacked out.
.....
A small tan figure stood at the edge of the Everfree, looking into the dark mass with eager eyes. Sure, it was dangerous, and yes, she was not supposed to go in there, but so what? She didn't care, and she charged in all the same.
.....
The familiar interior of the TARDIS came into view as The Doctor opened his eyes, his suit burned and in a heap around him. He tried to stand up but wobbled and fell, as he was trying to stand on his hind legs. "Ow, my muzzle....Wait what?!" He looked at his hooves...Since when did he have hooves? What exactly was he? Trotting over to mirror, he examined himself, noticing that he seemed to be... A horse, perhaps? No, the shape wasn't quite right. Aha! He realized he was a pony.
"Hm... Blue eyes... Tan coat... Brown mane," He sighed, "Still not ginger....Oh, and i have an hourglass tattoo on
my bottom! Ha!" The doctor began to spin around, And noticed wings on his back. wait, wings? "Brilliant! I
can fly!" He attempted a lift-off, but failed miserably, crashing to the ground with a clatter. "Ouch."
He did not, however, notice the TARDIS's door was open.
.....
The filly's ears twitched at the unfamiliar noises. She realized that they were coming from her right, a began to push through the dense forest. The bushes ripped at her vibrant red mane, but she kept going! She would surely find out what that noise was. After all that.. She stumbled upon a blue box. What could it be? Was it alive? She was not sure, but the noises were from here.. It looked oddly out of place, but this was the Everfree, and...The box thingie had a door, so it was obviously supposed to be opened. Pushing slowly and carefully, she opened it to reveal... A gigantic room with some odd shiny thing in it. She was not the best judge, but this simply was not right, She's never seen magic like this. She then noticed a brown pony sitting there.
The Doctor looked over. How did she get in? He hadn't unlocked the TARDIS, and the shields shouldn't be down... But she didn't seem like a threat, So he'd let it slide for now.
"It's... It's..." Amber stuttered.
Might as well play along, right? "Yeees?"
"It's bigger on the inside...."
The stallion was rolling on the floor, laughing his head off. "Yes! Yes,i know!"
She simply did not understand what was so funny, It must be some grown up thing, she decided. "Who...are you?" He got up and dusted himself off. "Sorry about that. I'm The Doctor." Amber stared at him for a minute.
"Doctor Who?"
"Just the Doctor!" He rambled on about stuff She did not understand; Something about rifts, regnerations, and some other things. It must be more adult stuff. She trotted over and looked up at the strange pony.
"Um, excuse me, Mr. Doctor?" He paused, looking down, and just now realized how small she was. "Yes, miss...?" "Amber. What is this box thingie?"
The Doctor thought for a moment. "Well now, This box is the TARDIS, time and relative dimension in space. It travels anywhere, anywhen." She suddenly perked up. "Really?! How does it work?!" He was surprised. Normally the reaction was different. Maybe it was because she was a child, and they believe most things. "Well, it's kinda...Timey-Wimey." Her golden eyes shifted to a confused look. "Timey-Wimey? Like dimension Timey-Wimey?"
This Amber was full of surprises, wasn't she? "Yes, you could say that..." He shifted his wings a bit. "Um, you don't know how to use those, do you? It's easy to see that you are not from around here." Amber asked.
Another sigh from the Doctor. "Nope."
"Well, I can help, if you want, that is..."
He nodded. If he had wings, might as well use them. After all, they could be valuable tools. "Ok, first you flap them like this, not too fast, or too slow, and you'll hover." Amber demonstrated this point. "Then it's a matter of weight shifting, and leaning to turn and maneuver." As she showed this, he noticed fire trails in her wake. "Fascinating!" He peered at them, and picked up his sonic screwdriver to examine them with it. "Than- What are you doing, Doctor?" Said stallion set down his screwdriver and tried to imitate Amber, but fell down again immediately. "This.. Is not as easy as you make it look." He whined at her. Amber rolled her eyes. "Well duh." He tried flapping his wings harder this time, and got a hover, but whne he leaned forward to move, he plopped down. Determined to get it right, he tried once more, and then again, and finally was able to maneuver himself through the air.
"Why don't I leave fire trails, but yours do?" The Doctor questioned her. "Because i'm special, that's why!" She responded confidently. He kept flying around the TARDIS console. But he did not watch where he was going.
"WEEEEE! This is brilliant! And useful! Allon-"
He crashed into Amber. They tumbled across the floor, all tangled up in eachother's limbs. They finally rolled to a stop, the Doctor on top of her, and The filly all bruised up. "That was unexpected..." He said at last. "Amber? Where are you?" He was then answered by a groan under him. "Oh! Are you alright?!" He scrambled up off of her. " I don't know, am I?" she whined, not sarcastically, though. "No. No, I don't think so. Come along then, let's fix you up."
Amber flailed her hooves about. "No, it's ok, just wait a minute." The Doctor was displeased about this, but did not want to do anything she didn't want him to, so he waited. A sudden fizzle of gold energy poofed out of her mouth, and the wounds were gone. "See? All better." She grinned nervously. He was dumbfounded. "Whaaat? That's not possible... One second, stay still dear..." He placed the Sonic against her head for a second, and his eyes widened. "Oh. Oh my..." The filly frowned. "What?"
"Nothing."
Amber still looked very unhappy about being not told something, but said nothing. "Vwoooorp!Vwoooorp!" Suddenly, the TARDIS lurched, letting out it's signature sound. The Doctor suddenly seemed distressed. "Oh, you choose now to leave do you?!" Amber slid across the floor. "Woah! Is this what it does when it travel through time?!" He looked at her. She obviously somehow did not care what was happening.... As before, it must be a filly thing. "Yes... Right then!" He grinned. "Amber, we are going to another time, another place. I suggest you hold on tight, as there is no stopping the TARDIS now. I assure you that you will return home in due time. Allons-y!"
