//-------------------------------------------------------// The Shadow and the Fallen King -by Milibron212- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A King Fallen //-------------------------------------------------------// A King Fallen One thousand years before the crowning of the new king of Dracous, a frost filled wind bellowed over the snowy plains of the Crystal Empire. The crystal castle visible on the horizon of a single figure adorned in a cloak that flowed with the wind. His black scaled hand held an unsheathed long sword colored in a black so deep that it seemed to suck in the white around him. "I was beginning to think you three would never show up." The figure spoke as he turned and dropped the hood concealing his black draconic features. The sound of crunching ice and snow matched with the hoof and foot steps of two alicorns and another draconian, "He is a common enemy, Noxus." Princess Luna stated. She was adorned in ebony armor and a midnight blue coat, "An enemy of the peace that must be vanquished." Nox chuckled at the way Luna spoke, "If we make it through this your highness, I'd rather go by Nox. Noxus sounds much too proper for my blood." His hand pressed into his chest while his head bowed slightly. Princess Luna nodded, "As you wish Nox." she complied as the four allies gazed over the darkened lands of the Crystal Empire, "He knows we're coming." She stated as a cloud of black began to build over the tallest tower. The white scaled draconian took several steps forward and drew out his blinding silver rapier, "Then let's not disappoint him." He held rapier over his head and twirled the blade in a circle over his head. A white light flowed from the tip to complete a magic circle overhead. With a downward slash a suit of pure white armor brimming with magic materialized onto his body. Nox grinned seeing his white counterpart's eagerness to fight, "Bloodthirsty are we Alabaster?" He asked before he unsheathed his long sword to repeat the other's actions. From the black circle overhead a set of ferocious pitch black armor fell into place onto his body. The fanged helmet turned to Celestia, "You ready for this?" He asked before taking his steps forward into the deep snow. Celestia gazed out at the corruption in the horizon, "It is not a matter of being ready. We have to stop this now. He will be too powerful to fight if we wait any longer." Her golden armor flashed in the little sunlight that reflected off it, "If we must destroy him, then that is what we must do." Alabaster, the white armored drake, smiled under his helmet, "I hoped that bringing you into this conflict wouldn't be necessary, but it seems that your magic is required." His wings spread wide, "Forgive us for not being able to remove this problem alone." He took off from the ground and sped to his target in the distance. Nox snickered at the White Knight, "Bloodthirsty and prideful. This can only end well." He flew along with the princesses close behind his white counterpart. Sombra stood gazing at his kingdom, a halbard crafted of black magic and shadow hovered close to his back cloaked in an aura of dark magic, "I would have expected the two warlords, but the princesses as well?" He hadn't turned to face the four bodies that had landed onto the highest part of his tower. The crystal heart clearly in view past the cage of crystal and dark magic, "You must be getting desperate Noxus." His  now head tilted in which to look at his opponents. Alabaster readied his blade and drove himself towards his opponent without a word. His rapier pierced through Sombra's head effortlessly. He tugged several times to try and pull the thin blade from his enemy's skull only to be met with the resistance that he should have had going in. "Or was it your decision to bring them?" Sombra asked seemingly unphased by the fact that the blade had impaled between his eyes, "The proud warlord of light diminished to receiving the aid of those he is sworn to protect. It must be such a blow to your pride." Alabaster placed his unoccupied hand atop the hilt while a white circle glowed from his palm. The hilt glowed with white light and spread to the blade. Sombra's body shifted into black smoke before the light could reach him. The smoke materialized behind Celestia while the halberd swung to the white alicorn. Two swords bearing the princess's emblems of sun and moon appeared and blocked the strike as the princesses turned to confront their foe. Nox in response swung his blade and cleaved through the dark king's neck. Sombra's head dropped to the ground, black smoke billowing with the wind. His body stayed upright while his eyes shifted to the black dragon, "So you truly betray me Warlord of Shadow? After what I did for you." Nox slammed the tip of his blade through Sombra's still living head, "Shut up you piece of garbage!." Nox slammed the blade repeatedly into Sombra's head until it finally shifted into smoke and back onto where it had been sliced off, "Just die!" He charged forward slashing repeatedly at the king's body. Each slash split his body only to be regenerated a second later back into place. Sombra did not bother moving from his place as each blow split tore him asunder. His eyes stared blankly at the drake then to the princesses, "Noxus. You bore me." The king's shadow split from his body and slammed itself into Nox's body. With only a second to recover, he blocked Sombra's concoming swing with his own blade. The steel shattered and sent the drake tumbling aside. The pieces of blade vanished and merged with the shade's shadow once he brought himself back to his feet. Celestia and Luna's sword slashed at Sombra only for his body to vanish into the dark cloud. The dark halberd knocked the blades aside and charged for Celestia again. The lunar princess deflected the blow intended for her sister with her armored shoulder. A beam of magic shot from her horn and through the dark cloud. Sombra laughed in an echo while the darker colored magic shot through him, "Oh dear Luna. How little you understand about me." The shadow that bashed Nox aside impacted Luna and sent her reeling back, "Though, you hardly know anything about yourself. So I suppose that is to be expected." Sombra materialized again in front of Celestia. The solar princess guarding herself against the incoming halberd with her own sword. The two weapons collided, this time in a stalemate. The two pushed forward against each other, neither offering the other a chance to see the other struggle in their magic grasps, "You however dear Celestia." He pushed his entire body forward which, "You are truly special. A warrior such as yourself has no place with these mongrels." A white light shined behind Celestia as a second sword identical to the one locked with Sombra's weapon pierced through his chest, "Indeed, which is I must be sure that you do not success in your conquest." This time a grin formed on her face. Instead of merely turning into a cloud of smoke, Sombra winced as the blade pierced where his heart would have been. A trail of ichor dripping from the blade. Sombra pulled back from the blade. His armored hoof pulling itself to sweep up a small segment of the ichor, "You dare." He growled at the solar princess. His horn glowed. Several circles of black magic appeared overhead. Small beads of magic started forming in the corner pieces to the emblem ingrained in the circle. "I dare." Her own horn glowed before countless black spikes shot out from the circles only to shatter against a barrier of white that Celestia formed around her body, "Alabaster, Noxus. If you please." Sombra's gaze broke from Celestia when she cued the two dragons. An impact stuck his chest and he was sent airborne. Nox was on his knees underneath the dark king with his own black circle projected under him. Alabaster was overhead, his arms over his head with a white circle centered in his palms. The second circle drove him back down, but his body seemed frozen in place between the two circles. Massive chains shot themselves from the two circles and entangled the king in a series of shining white and dusky black threads. Sombra was truly frozen, no twitch, not even a blink. Alabaster and Nox kept their respective circles shining, "Sorry it took so long Sombra." Nox spoke as he rose up, "But you're too much of a threat to leave here. Alive or dead." Luna pulled herself up and shook off the snow that had built up while she was down. She walked calmly into place while Celestia took to the opposite position, "Sister. Let us remove this creature." Celestia's eyes glowed white while Luna's glowed midnight blue, "At once Luna." Two more circles of their respective colors appeared at Sombra's sides and started to spin. The opposing colors blurred as the speed grew faster and faster, "Sombra. For your crimes against Equestria, against the Crystal Empire and against this world, we sentence you to oblivion." Luna's voice came next as the spells combined between ancient dragon and alicorn magics, "You will know nothing, speak nothing and your influence will be lost to the ages. You will be lost forever." Sombra's horn glowed black while his body fought against his bonds in any way it could. The circles grew and with them so did the bubble that formed with the circles, "I will not let my legacy be forgotten princesses. I will be the king forever known as the slayer of warlords and princesses." The bubble expanded further. Nox drove himself to the ground and pushed his claws forward while his shadow wrapped around the four circles and the bubble, "Get out of here!" Nox shouted while his body strained, "He's trying to overload the spell and drag you with him. Get out of here!" He shouted again. The bubble pushed against the barrier that Nox pulled up. Alabaster's eyes grew underneath the helmet when he realized what was happening, "Luna, Celestia. He speaks the truth. We have to leave!" He shouted past the mask. Celestia stepped back seeing even after she removed her magic the spell still wove itself and grew. Her wings spread and she started flying away to keep herself from being caught up in the bubble that would soon swell if Nox's barrier of shadow broke, "Luna. Go, now!" Luna turned her head to berate the dragon only for the black armor to fly off the drake. A smile focused at her, "Nox. If you don't come with us you'll be caught up as well." Nox shook his head, "I'll be gone as soon as this barrier lets up." Cracks started to form in the translucent black material, "And you will too if you don't go." His head bowed in defeat, "I'm prepared to face oblivion if it means our homes are safe. That's my purpose as the Black Knight after all." Luna gazed at the defeat in Nox's face then she nodded somberly, "Farewell then. Nox." She spoke softly before leaving the drake to the fate he chose. Nox chuckled to Luna as she left, "At least I got to hear that voice one last time." He pressed one claw to his chest. A black circle appeared between his palm and his scales. Slowly he pulled his claw back. A cloud of black pulled from his chest and his eyes losing the light they once had, "Goodbye Sombra. And go to Hell." When the cloud was completely removed from Nox's chest, an agonizing minute later, the cloud shot free of Nox's claw. The black barrier shattered like glass. The white light that built up from the spell engulfed the entire castle and the lands surrounding. The vacant space where no snow fell being the only reminder that it had ever existed. Luna, Alabaster and Celestia landed safely as the white eruption of light and sound took the entire city with it into oblivion. Alabaster remained in his stoic suit of armor while watching as the white slowly covered up everything that had been the Crystal Empire's capital city, "So." He started in his unwavering voice, "I suppose it's all over now. The king is gone." Celestia nodded while her eyes trailed where the benevolent black orb shot into the distance. A sad smile on her face, "Yes. It's over." Her voice matched the drake's unwavering voice, "I." She paused to find the words, "I'm sorry for your loss." She spoke before her wings spread, "I was careless." Alabaster shook his head, "No. It was my fault as much as yours. You do not have the sole claim to that." He then turned to face the other direction, his wings shaking like a cape in the wind, "We will have a ceremony to send Noxus off into the everafter. You are welcome to attend if you so wish." He spoke with that steel laden voice before leaving the two princesses to their own devices. Luna remained silent in the exchange, her eyes focused into the horizon, "Farewell fair Nox. May you find your peace." She whispered quietly to herself before spreading her wings, "The deed is done sister. We must make haste to Equestria to deliver the news of Sombra's demise or the citizens will worry." She flapped her wings to pull herself off the ground and away from their former battleground. Celestia's smile did not waver, "I will see you again Nox. In your next life." She followed after her sister back home to Equestria.
