The beautiful sent of rain.
Rain.
Load Full StoryThe beautiful sent of rain, so unexplainable. So beautiful. Warming and comforting to the nose. Though even if it was summer, the rain clouds crept closer walking on little cat feet. Making itself noticed by causing the clouds to roar of thunder. The darkness under the clouds caused by rain flowing hard underneath it. It looked heavenly, for this summer has been boiling hot all month. Nothing but a little rain could help fix.
I trot outside of my home, looking up cautiously at the sky. I breathe in the wonderful rain sent. I smiled so softly and closed my sky blue eyes. I trotted to the grass from in front of my porch. So green and luscious. Long and majestic. I lay my back onto it and laughed aloud. What wonder. I smiled so bright and big, and stayed on the grass for some time.
I though of how delighting it would be if I had a special somepony to share the night with. Yet, I don’t, and shall stay inside alone reading my romance novels wishing that I were that wonderful mare getting married to the prince Blue Blood. Or, the devilish looking mare getting the handsome vampire stallion.
A loud crash of thunder roared through my ears as the clouds had crept in while I was daydreaming. The cloud flashed with terror and rain had started pouring. I got to my hooves and ran into my house. Shutting the door, the thunder screamed outside. I looked out the window and shivered. Thankfully, I didn’t get wet to were my mane would be destroyed.
I sighed a hard breath and trotted over to my bookshelf. Dusty and covered in dirt, I pull out my MaryBank novel. This one was the one of the mare falling for the vampire. I blew off the layer of dust and opened it to page thirty-five. I never really read the book I just would skim through it and read the ending.
I sat back in my big pink fluffy chair. I relaxed and flipped through the old, brittle pages. I heard the rain hit the roof like rocks thrown at it. The noise soothed the ears of mine. Causing me to drift to a subtle sleep. I set the book on my face to block out the light from my lamp, and set off to sleep.
Stuck in the greatness of the semi-asleep, neither totally awake nor asleep. I dreamt of holding hooves with my special somepony. With a blue mane and pale yellow coat. Emerald green eye’s, so bright and beautiful, it’s hypnotizing. He looked to me and smiled, laughed, and grabbed my other hoof. We spun in circles in a light green meadow. So wide and vast, the grass up to our flanks. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves. Together we were as one. Love was in the fresh air.
When all of a sudden,
CABLAM!
Thunderclouds rolled in over our heads. Trapping us in a fog that was so thick, you couldn’t see your hoof in front of you. Thunder roared like a lion. I looked to him, he looked to me. I stared in his eye’s looking for protection. Yet all I saw was fear.
“Help…” I called to him.
Suddenly, arms formed around him, ripping him away from my sight. He was enclosed in the fog. I heard screams and yells for help.
CABLAM!
I awoke from my nightmare in a hurry. Seeing that my dream wasn’t real, I let out a sigh of relief. I looked around and saw that my book was on the floor. I reached down and grabbed it off of the floor. I set it nice and neat on my end table.
I got up from the comfort of my fluffy chair and stretched. I pulled my legs and cracked my neck.
Seems like the ran stopped. I could smell the rain still. So nice... the silence.
I stopped and listened. Such beauty.
