Chapters The Melancholic Life Of Soarin'
Soarin' flopped on his bed out of breath and heavily breathing. His blood flowing through his veins like himself not even 10 minutes ago. He had just finished a show with the Wonderbolts in Cloudsdale, his home town. He loved preforming there but that only put Soarin in a situation that he hated, he would have to deal with not going to the the after party and the paparazzi on his flank, witch he hated a lot. Soarin was shy almost all the time except when he preformed in front of other ponies, he just lost himself in the bliss of flight, he loved it so much.
He was really out of breath today because he was chased by the paparazzi nearly half way home. He didn't even have enough time to get changed out of his Wonderbolts uniform. He was a sweaty mess underneath the costume so he got up and he decided to take a shower. He troted over to the bathroom and peeled the uniform off his moist fur and tossed it aside. As he walked towards the shower he stopped and looked in the mirror that he had. His fur was matted down in places and the rest of his fur was glistening with sweat. His mane was a mess, it looked like a mini bomb went off in it. His tail was about the same but it was still a mess. Soarin' sighed and said "I'm a wreck" defeat was extremely present in his voice. After Soarin' started the water and slid under it he finally got a chance to relax.
Soarin' was now under the steaming hot water relaxing and then Soarin' started thinking. He thought about how the paparazzi chasing him to his home, he thought about how awkward he would have been at the after party. All these thoughts were normal to him because he always did this. But this time it felt different...in fact it was different. All the other Wonderbolts were use to him going straight home and they completely under stood why he didn't like all the attention. But it was different because there was a new Wonderbolt and she might not have understood why Soarin' took off and all that jazz. She has been to busy training and practicing for her first Wonderbolt show, nopony could really tell her what was up with anything, she was just so focused all the time. Soarin' knew that he would have to go back and tell her tomorrow back at the Wonderbolts HQ.
Soarin' gritted his teeth with anger but at the same time he was saying to him self "I should have just told her myself." but at the same time he knew he couldn't because he would just come into a 10 foot radius of her and just turn around and trot the other way like he had never approached her in the first place. Soarin' then thought of all the nice times they had together before she was on the team. Like the time she saved him from almost certain death while he was trying to save somepony else at the best young flyer competition. Then he thought of the time where he danced with her at the wedding of Shining Armour and Princess Cadence, it was an awkward highlight for him. But last but certainly not least, the night the should have won him an Oscar for best actor, the night of the first Grand Galloping Gala that she had attended. She had tried talking to him a Spitfire but they kept on getting dragged away by other ponies, Soarin' had yet apologized for that night.
By the time his memories had gone through his head he had gotten out of the shower and dried off. Soarin' looked at the clock, the time read 12:24. Soarin' let out a yawn and dove onto his bed. He quickly got comfortable and started to doze off. but the last thing the went through Soarin's head was how cool the name was of the mare he was thinking of.....Rainbow Dash.
The Melancholic Life Of Soarin'
The Morning Before Disaster
Soarin' woke up to the sound of his alarm clock, a loud beeping noise that almost made his ears bleed. Very tiered, he very slowly inhaled and exhaled. It smelt like fresh air in his room, this was odd. The window was open, he forgot that yesterday that he opened it before he went to his show.
His alarm clock was still blaring in his right ear, he raised his hoof out from underneath the warmth of his blanket to turn the alarm off. Silence fell upon his room, only the whistle of the wind was heard. After nearly being blinded by the sun that came through his window when he opened his eyes, Soarin' looked at the clock, it read 7:32. After painfully sitting up after a somewhat stiff night of sleep, he stretched, a few crack noises came from his back. With a quick twist of his back and an even louder cracking noise than the last one, he was up and ready for the day ahead of him.
Now on normal nights, Soarin' would just wing it in the mornings, but in the mornings after shows he had a little routine he had. Soarin' planted his hoofs on the ground and walked into his bathroom. He brushed his teeth and picked up his Wonderbolts uniform with his wing, he didn't pick it up with his teeth because he had just brushed his teeth.
Now Soarin', being the famous Wonderbolt that he was, you would think that he lives in a huge house. But the truth was that he only lived in a very small house. He wanted a small house because if it were a big house, it would draw attention. So when Soain' walked out of his room he entered a hallway, you couldn't go the left because you would run into a wall and if you went right the rest of the hallway was their. He turned right and walked down the hallway a bit and came to the closet that was at the end of the hallway. He opened the door and washer and dryer was squeezed in the small closet. Soain' opened the door to the washer, threw the uniform in, closed it, and set the machine to the right settings and and hit a button and it began washing the suit.
Soain' brought up a hoof and started to rub his eye to get some of the morning crust out from the corner of his eye. He did the same thing with his other eye. When the hallway ended, it merged with his living room and kitchen. Soarin' went left to go into his kitchen. The kitchen was pretty nice for a house of that size. It had all the thing he needed, oven, refrigerator, microwave, etc. There were cabinets next to the refrigerator, he opened one of the cabinets and there was all kinds of bread inside. Soarin' reached in and grabbed the bag of bagels, opened the bag and placed a bagel into the toaster that was next to the microwave.
While the bagel was toasting he went into his living room and turned on the T.V. He flipped to the news channel. He was not really paying any attention to the what they were saying, he just wanted something in front of his eyeballs to keep him occupied until his bagel was ready.
Soarin' heard the toaster pop and walked over to his toaster. He went to go pick up the bagel but before he touched it he felt the heat come off it, he decided to let it cool off. As if it were scripted the washing machine made a ding noise, indicating that his suit was done washing. He walked back over to the washer, opened it, opened the dryer, took the wet uniform out of the washer and flung it into the dryer. He started it up and walked away.
He returned to his bagel now, it was just the right temperature. Soarin' walked over to his fridge and pulled some grape jam to go with his bagel. He used his wing to open a cabinet and pick up a butter knife. His hoof wrapped around the jar while his teeth were trying to pry it open. After he got it open and slathered the jelly on his bagel he slowly walked back to his T.V.
While he was walking back to his T.V he noticed something, Pegasi don't really used their wings like he did. Well, every Pegasus could fly like Soarin' but Soarin' used his wings to grip things often. Other ponies would just wrap their hoof around something to grip it but Soarin' found it easier to grip things with his wings.
Soain' sat down in front of his T.V silently eating his bagel. The news was the only thing he could hear, but he was not focused on it. He looked at the T.V to fully understand what was happening the wide world of Equestria. Their was a news mare sitting at a desk looking straight at the camera. ".....Now moving on to sports! Last night the Wonderbolts put on a performance that some call there best one yet! Ponies say that the new recruit, Rainbow Dash, added a new and energetic flare to the already exciting performance that the Wonderbolts usually put on. Fans can't wait to see more from her!" After that Soarin' heard nothing because he was choking on part of his bagel. He had forgotten over night that he would have to go through the embarrassment of telling Rainbow Dash about his shyness and all that.
At this point Soain' had gotten a glass of water to wash down the piece of bagel that was stuck in his throat. He heard a ding from behind him. His suit was dry. He walked over to the dryer and took out his suit, it was still slightly dry. He let out a defeated groan and put on the suit. "Might as well get this over with." He opened his door and closed it behind him and flew off to his doom.
The Melancholic Life Of Soarin'
Soarin' was flying at a slow pace. Slower than usual. He wanted to tell Rainbow Dash and just get it over with, but at the same time he didn't want to do it at all. He needed to relax, he needed to somehow forget all of this. He looked to his left and noticed that the sun had just finished rising. All he could do was stare at it, it was one of the most beautiful, he shut his eyes and continued on his way.
Ten minutes of drifting later he finally opened his eyes again, the HQ was in sight. Soarin' just girted his teeth together. Every part of his body told him to turn around and come back later. But he couldn't because then he would be late for practice. No matter what he did it was not going to be pretty.
Now he was just about 100 feet away from the building, he felt like his lungs were about to explode, he remembered that breathing was probably a good thing to do in a situation like this. He landed on the cloud that was sporting the building and slowly trotted his way to the front door.
He slowly opened the door and walked in, he looked to his right, there was a clock hanging on the wall, the time was 8:02. Fashionably Late. Soain' looked right and saw the hallway to the locker room where the other Wonderbolts changed and the room where the Wonderbolts trained. Soarin never used the locker rooms to change for obvious reasons, he didn't want to see other ponies private areas and he didn't want other ponies to see his private areas, and then the reason that he was most know for in the HQ....he was shy.
Slowly trotting down the hallway he heard voices from the locker room, none of them sounded like Rainbow Dash. As he walked past the locker room he tried not to make any noise so people wouldn't know that he was here. He got to the end of the hall where the door way to the big training room was. He slowly crept into the room to make sure that there was nopony around. He quickly took off and before he knew it he lost himself in the magic of flight.
Soarin' was flying with ease, just passing through air like a hot knife cutting butter. He completely lost track of time. He landed and looked at the clock, it was 12:43. He heard a rumble in his stomach, it's time for lunch. Soarin' flew home when he ate lunch, he never ate with anypony else.
As Soarin' was flying home and he noticed that Rainbow Dash was not at HQ today. He didn't mind at all he was just wondering why was she not there. He just pondered the reason until he got home to eat. He opened the door to his house that he left the T.V on. The 1:00 news was on but Soarin' didn't notice because was looking in the fridge for food.
He finally found some vegetables in the fridge and put them on the counter. He then trotted over to the cabinet where he kept his bread, pulled out the white bread and put it on the counter next to the vegetables. He started constructing the sandwich and thinking of the reasons why Rainbow was not at the HQ today. Did she have some thing to do? Was she sick? There were so many reasons as to why she was not at HQ today.
Soarin' was now in front of the T.V eating his sandwich, still pondering why she was not there today. It was her first day after her first show, how could she not come? He ponder until he got frustrated. He was frustrated because he was so worried that he would have to embarrass himself.
As he was pondering and eating he got an idea that when he thought of it he would normally punch himself for. The idea was to ask Spitfire where she was. Now he had no problem with asking Spitfire anything because they were best friends, but Soarin' rather not know when doomsday was coming. At least that's what it felt like to him.
Soarin' was now done with his sandwich. He got up and trotted out the front door. He closed the door behind him and then he took off.
Soarin' walked through the front doors of the HQ and heard voices coming from the locker room. He couldn't tell who was talking, the voices were to distant. He slowly walked down the hallway to see who it was. He slowly peaked his head in to see who was in the room. Soarin' felt his legs turn into noodles. He quickly looked away. It was Rainbow Dash and Spitfire chatting about something. He didn't know what they were talking about because he was to busy having a heart attack.
Soarin' was really in a pickle, not only was Rainbow Dash here, where she and Spitfire were sitting really made his situation horrible. They were sitting on a bench, the first bench you see when you trot into the locker room, the bench was about 10 feet away from the door. This was why Saorin' was in a pickle because if he tried to walk or fly by really fast Spitfire would notice because she had the eyes of a Hawk and would notice him. One other option was to just leave the HQ, he had a certain amount of time he had to train for the week. It's a Wonderbolt thing.
The now hyperventilating Soarin' was so unsure about what to do next. All of his thought were racing in his head, but then, it was like he had no control of his body. His mind was saying 'NO' but his body was saying 'YES'. He slowly walked into their sight. He didn't need to look at them to know they had their eyes fixated on him.
"Oh, hey Soarin'!" Spitfire said obviously happy to see her long time friend.
"Sup Soarin'!" Rainbow Dash chipped in.
"Hey guys what's up?" At this point he had no game plan, he just rolled with the punches. He was internally yelling at himself to turn around but something was keeping him from doing that.
"So, what brings you around these parts, Soarin'?"
"Oh, I don't know. Just thought saying hi to my fellow team mates would be nice."
"Yeah we were just talking about the after party and how awesome it was" Rainbow said squealing at the memories she had from the night before. But on the other hoof Soarin' was about to go into cardiac arrest. Soarin' was sure that his life was going to come crashing down on top of him if she asked that question. So he decided to flip the tables on her.
"Sounds like you had fun, but I have a question. Why were you not at practice this morning? Just wondering."
"That kinda has to do with the party. I got all kinds of messed up at that party, I hate to admit but let me tell ya, I had the time of my life!"
Spitfire cleared her throat and then spoke up. "Um, Soarin', could I ask you something out in the hall way?"
Soarin' did not hesitate to reply to that question "Yeah, sure."
Spitfire and Soarin' walked out of the locker room and stepped into the hallway. Where they would only whisper.
"What do you want to ask me?"
"Nothing. I need to tell you something!"
"I need to tell you something as well"
"Oh, well you go first cause I think what I have to say is way better that what you have to say."
"Spitfire we have been friends for a long time and you should know how I feel about asking me why I wasn't at the party!"
"Oh shit you're right. I'm so sorry I should have known."
"It's okay Spitfire, I will just tell her myself when the time comes. You wanted to tell me something?"
"Yeah I wanted to tell you something! Rainbow totally likes you! I don't know if it was the alcohol talking because it was a sorta near the beginning and I had no clue if she had gotten drunk already or not. She just walked up and told me. Like I said I don't know if it was the alcohol talking or she just wanted to get it off her chest. Either way you could have a fillyfriend if you want one. Plus Rainbow is a nice mare and I think you will genuinely like her."
Soarin' now had the most confused face on. He didn't know what to say or do. He looked down the hallway to his right and saw the clock that he first saw when he first walked in, he squinted to try to read what the time was. It was 2:30 now and he only had a little bit more time before his training would be done.
"Spitfire you know how I feel about this, but i'm not saying i'm not going to do it, i'm just saying it may or may not happen."
Spitfires face lit up, she looked at the clock and read the time. "Listen, you only have one hour before you go home, can you please think about this while you are training!"
Soarin' let out a sigh and somehow mustered up to say "Yeah, sure, i'll think about it."
"Awesome!" Spitfire then walked back into the locker room to continue chatting with Rainbow Dash.
Soarin' was now frozen in time, he couldn't move, he could not believe what he had just done. He finally got control of his body movement and continue down the hallway to the large training room. He had this dumbfounded look on his face. He was able to shake it off and get his senses back together. He didn't know what to think he didn't know what to do. He needed to take his mind of this. So he took to the sky so he could train and try to think about what just happened and what to do.
Soarin' was in the middle of a trick when he caught a glance from the clock, he had over stayed his welcome here at the HQ by at least 45 minutes. He landed that most of the Wonderbolts that were there over stayed there welcome, he could tell because while training before lunch he had noticed them walk in.
Soarin' knew that he would be confronted by Rainbow Dash as soon as he entered that hallway to go home. Soarin' let out a sigh that sounded like a sigh that said 'Lets just get this over with' and it sounded like a sigh of fear. He knew what he had coming for him. Knowing the outcome of the situation made it worse for him, it was like a night mare but in reality.
He slowly began trotting out of the big training room and into the hallway with the exist at the other end of it. He looked down the hallway and it looked like it when it on forever. He heard voices coming from the locker room as he trotted towards it. he was now in the same situation as hes was before, he was outside the the locker room and he just he had no clue what to do. He was hoping his body would take over again and just get it over with, but nothing was happening, he was going to have to do it himself.
One thought just came to Soarin' and all it was, was to just go do it, and so he did, he just walked into the locker room. He felt like an empty shell of him self standing in the middle of the room, all eyes on him. There were only two sets of eyes on him but it felt like a lot more than that. Once again only Rainbow Dash and Spitfire were in the locker room. Soarin' noticed a big fat smirk come across Spitfires face, she was the first one to speak. "Hi Soain'! Me and Rainbow here were about to get going."
"Oh, really? I was just about to get out of here to."
Spitfire rose her voice "Damn it, I forgot something in the training room! I'll be right back, don't go anywhere."
As Spitfire walked out of the room she winked at Soarin' and left. It was now just Rainbow Dash and Soarin' in the locker room. He didn't want to to make a fool of himself to soon so he was the first one to speak up. "So Rainbow, how's it going."
"Pretty good, you?"
"I'm fine. Hey why weren't you here this morning?"
"Oh...um..I don't want tot talk about it" Rainbows cheeks were red, very red.
"Come on you can tell me, I don't judge."
"Fine, I will only tell you if you tell me why weren't at the party last night."
Soarin' felt like he got punched in the stomach, he knew that he would have to embarrasses himself but he would have to tell her at this point but he tried stalling. "I asked you first."
Rainbow sighed. "I was hungover! I usually get a little carried away with my alcohol. Now why weren't you at the party"
Soarin' just stared at the floor. He slowly trotted his way over the the bench where Rainbow was sitting at and sat next to her and sigh, "Well I rather not tell you cause it's kinda personal but given the situation I suppose I have to tell you. I'm shy, I hate to be the center of attention and if I had gone to that party my worst fears would have been a reality, hell I was chased half way home." It was now Soarin's turn for his face to bed red
Silence fell over the room and the suspense that Soarin' was going through was like something out of a horror movie, when Rainbow spoke he was expecting the worst
"Wow...I had no idea...I completely understand Soarin'...I have a friend back in Ponyville who has the exact same problem."
The answer that Soarin' got was so unexpected, he could not help but to get a smile across his face. But this is where is body did the work for him as he spoke. "You want to go grab a bite to eat sometime soon? I feel like we have not really gotten the chance to just sit down and know each other."
"Yeah sure I would love to! When is best for you?"
"I'm free basically all day every day. So the real question is what time is good for you."
"Well i'm doing something tonight so how about tomorrow after work?"
"Sounds like a plan!"
"Awesome!"
At this point Spitfire walked back in with the item that she had forgotten in the training room. They all walked together down the hall and out the front where they said their goodbyes and parted ways.
Soarin' finally got to his house where he entered to the T.V blaring 4 o clock news, he had forgotten to turn it off again. Soarin' just kept trotting down the hallway. He opened the door to his room and closed it behind him. He flopped onto his bed, suit and all, and just stared at the sealing.
"HOLY SHIT!"
The Melancholic Life Of Soarin'
Soarin' woke up sprawled out on his bed. He noticed that he was slightly sweating, he looked down and saw that he was still wearing his Wonderbolt uniform.
Soarin' got up and took off his suit and carried on with his normal morning routine. He threw his suit in the wash, made breakfast, and ate while watching the news.
He finished breakfast a little early so he decided to actually give a listen to the news. The mare on the screen was talking about the Wonderbolts, Soarin' was not surprised by this so he stopped listening and just thought to himself. 'Why do someponies get more attention then others?' The question the rattled around every famous pony head in Equestria.
Soarin' heard a ding, his suit was done washing, he slung it on and he was out of the door and off to the HQ.
Soarin' got to HQ and trotted in like he normally did. He was a lot happier than normal because he had something to look forward to after he was done training today. Or was he scared? He had no clue about how he was feeling but defiantly felt something about it.
He walked down the hallway and head voices in the locker room. They sound quite familiar to him, but it was still a little fuzzy as to who was talking to who. He poked his head around the corner and saw Rainbow getting changed while Spitfire talked to her about something that escaped his hearing.
"Oh! Look who it is Rainbow it's Soarin'."
Rainbow had just finished putting on her uniform. She trotted up to Soarin' and poked him a little bit "So are you ready for later?"
"I am. But the real question is, are you going to be ready?"
"What are you guys planning tonight?" Spitfire chimed in.
"Oh, me and Soarin' were just planing to get something to eat later on." Rainbow replied
"I didn't know you did that kind of stuff Soarin'."
"Welp, now you know." Soarin' said sheepishly
The two mares giggled a little at Soarin'. They continued on with there conversation and all was fine. But Spitfire noticed something out of the corner of her eye, it was the light bulb, it was flickering a bit. She continued with her conversation but she kept her eye on the light. Then as if she had predicted the future the light bulb went out. The conversation stopped as the three ponies stared at the light.
"Well shit.....Not it!" Spitfire shouted
"Not it!" Shouted both Soarin' and Rainbow at the same time.
Spitfire got a look on her face, it was like she was holding back a grin of some sort. "Welp it looks like both you are going to have to replace the bulb. Go on you two I need to train any way." With that Spitfire walked out of the locker room.
Rainbow and Soarin' just stared at each other, then Rainbow said "Might as well get this over with. Hey...um...where do keep your light bulbs in this joint?"
"Come on I will show you, follow me."
Soarin' lead Rainbow to where they kept the light bulbs. Now if any Wonderbolt turned right instead of left to go training they would come to the wrong hallway to go down, at the very end of this hall way was this supply closet where they kept things that might come in handy, and light bulbs were in this closet so it looks like they were going to go in it.
Rainbow and Soarin' were having a little conversation when they walked up to the door. "Welp this is where we keep our light bulbs." Soarin' opened the door with his wing. Rainbow Dash noticed this but didn't really say anything about it. The door swung inwards as it opened.
"This is the most dustiest room I have ever seen. This place has more dust in it than my attic." Rainbow Dash said with a little bit of a surprise.
"Well, we barley ever go in here so it's bound to get a little dusty. Now where are those light bulbs?"
They looked around the room for about 30 seconds. "Maybe turning on the light would help a little, you think?" Soarin' teased as he turned on the light. Rainbow chuckled as their vision went from pitch black to color filled.
"Oh there they are! They are up there on that shelf." Rainbow tried to open her wings so she could hover up there and just get them, but the closet was so small that she had barley had enough room to open her wings.
"Here let me try." Soarin' then reached out his wing and tried to get the bulbs but they were out of reach.
"Here give me a boost up there." Rainbow said
"Ok." Soarin' hesitated as she went to stand on his back. Rainbow got up on his back and tried to reach the bulbs. These lights bulbs were on the second shelf so Rainbow used the first shelf to support her weight with her right front hoof. Meanwhile Soarin' was holding her up, his spine almost giving away. Not only was his spine about to give but Rainbows tail in his face did not help at all.
Rainbow was still trying to reach the light bulbs, her tail still in Soarin's face. Rainbows tail was be breathed in and out of Soarin's nostrils. She was up there for what felt a eon and a half trying to get the bulbs. But then Soarin' felt a something in the back of his throat, he could not take it anymore, he sneezed causing dust to fly every where. When Soarin' sneezed that caused Rainbow to ejected into the air a little bit and on the way down she hit the first shelf and with her weight coming down on it caused it to break.
Rainbow and Soarin' got caught in a avalanche of boxes and dust. They heard glass break and wood snap in half. They were buried with boxes from head to tail.
"Rainbow! Are you alright?!"
"Yeah i'm fine. You?"
"I'm fine to."
When they finally came to their senses they looked around the room to see what was the damage. At least 60% of the boxes were knocked over and the shelf Rainbow had been leaning on was completely broken.
"Oh no." Soarin' said with shock in his voice
"What?!" Rainbow said worried that Soarin' hurt or something had broke but she looked at Soarin' and she found him looking at the door, it had been shut by the falling boxes.
"So what, just open the door."
"We can't."
"Why the hell not?!"
"Cause that door has always been locked from the inside."
"How do you know?!" Rainbow asked worried
"Because Fleetfoot did it one time and it took us all day to find her. It wasn't pretty."
"So you are telling me we are trapped in a room that is the size of a cardboard box, filled with even more boxes!" Rainbow finished her sentence by kicking the nearest box.
"Hey, hey, hey, there is no need to get mad. We can just chill for a while, you know just chat. Maybe we will learn a thing or two about each other." Soarin' was very clam for some reason, it was like he was use to being in a small room all day. Rainbow finally took time to compute that sentence and come to terms with it.
"So,tell me about yourself Rainbow." Soarin started the conversation trying to sound positive.
"Well, if you didn't already know i'm in the Wonderbolts."
Soarin' chuckled "No really, tell me about yourself."
"I don't know where to start really. I'm just a mare with a Rainbow mane that's addicted to speed. I don't know what more I should tell you. What about you Soarin'? What are you like."
Soarin' sat down and looked at the floor. "That's a good question. I'm just a average stallion who is fed up with the world that we live in. I have a love hate relation ship with my job and I live in a dump. I don't know what to call my life but it apparently it's one of the more important things to the media. Do you think that sums it up Rainbow?"
Rainbow was shocked to say the least, she moved a box and sat next to Soarin'. "Soarin'....I didn't know it was that personal to you."
"It's okay, you would have found out anyway, I mean we were going to go out of something to eat and the very same question would have came up. So I heard you were a Element of Harmony, hows that working for you?"
"It's hard sometimes, saving Equestria. It's different and I like saving ponies but at times at really do hate risking my life. But hey i'm the Element of Loyalty so i'm going to stick to my friends when it comes to that."
"I see." Silence came upon them like the first ripple in still water, just so suddenly.
As if they were reading each others thoughts they both asked at the same time "So do you have any family?" Both of their facial expressions said it all. Both of there faces had a look on that said 'Don't make think about it' More silence came upon them. It was not dead, nothing but still noise.
"Not it." Rainbow said with fake strength in her voice.
Soarin' smirked a little bit but he swallowed his tongue and spat out the truth. "Well to start off I have no brothers or sisters. I never knew my dad. My mom was possibly the nicest, loving, and caring pony I have ever met. One night she said she had to work late and she never came home. This all happened before I was in school. I had to go live with my aunt and I don't know how her and my mom were related, she was like a devil. I lived the rest of my school day there and as soon a I was able to I moved the hell out of there. What's your story?"
Rainbow did not really have a shocked face on but it more than a understanding face if anything. "My story...I don't know if I want to share mine. But I guess that it's only fair if I go. Well where do I start....now that I think about it my story is not that long, it's very simple, my parents went out to diner by themselves and the never came back.....I suppose that our stories are a little bit similar."
"Yeah. I suppose." Then Soarin' started putting pieces together in his head. His eyes shot open.
"Rainbow you mind if I ask you some questions?"
"Sure, I guess? Why?"
"If i'm right, you will see why. How old are you now?"
"Twenty four?" Rainbow answered with confusion
"How old were you when your parents died?"
"Four."
"How did they die?"
"I don't see what you are getting at here....they died in a train crash."
"On there way to or from they place they were going to?"
"From."
"What was the date and time they died?"
"They died September.....4th I think. I don't really know what the exact time but they were on the 9:30 train from Canterlot to Ponyville. Soarin' these questions are really strange."
Soarin' hung his head low, he let his mane hang over his eyes, he turned to Rainbow Dash "Did your parents go to Canterlot for that fancy dinner of theirs?"
".....Yes."
"Did your parents always fly from Cloudsdale to Ponyville because they knew they could not fly there?"
"Yes....h-how did you know that?"
"Because my mom did the same thing everyday when she went to work."
"Okay so why did you ask me all those other questions?"
"Here's why. I'm twenty four now, I was four when my mom died, she died on September 4th, my mom was on the 9:30 train from Canterlot to Ponyville so she would be on her way home...she died in a train crash. Witch can only mean one thing, my mom and your parents were on the same train when they died" His voice became weak as he finished.
Soain' looked up from his mane with tears in his to see that Rainbow was in tears her self. They just looked at each other this watery eyes. Rainbow leaned in forward and gave Soarin' a hug, Soarin' returned it with all he could. They remained like that for minutes.
After they broke the hug they sat next to each other, they just stared into each others eyes. Soarin' noticed that he was sitting on something, he turned around to see what it was. He picked it up with his wing, it was a box of light bulbs. He held it in the light so Rainbow could see, they both chuckled and they moved in closer to each other. Rainbow sniffed and sighed and she laid her head on Soarins shoulder.
The Melancholic Life Of Soarin'
So i'm just going to spill the beans. AHEM. As far as this story goes it's no longer happening for 4 main reasons. 1 I feel like this story is not the best thing I have written by far witch makes me not want to write it more and more. 2 every time I get an idea for this story i hate it, like my idea for THIS story lately have been really dumb. 3 I really don't want to write about ponies, what I mean by this is that in order to make my writing career better i have to write about things that are good and can move me forward, i feel like if im writing about ponies im not getting anywhere. 4 i always try to put out chapters and i feel like if you guys dont get the next chapter sooner or later you will just forget about this story and move on, and that puts me under pressure and im always saying to my self "I HAVE TO PUT OUT A NEW CHAPTER!". So im sorry if you liked this fic but i cant do it anymore. sorry. bye.
