-Finding Magic-
-CHAPTER ONE-
-Memories, Huh?-
It wasn't always like this. Things used to be alright. In fact, I still remember how this all started.
I never liked experiments...
7 days before Magic is Lost
“Spike~!”
I woke up with a start, upstairs in the library, right on my bed.
“Coming,” I shouted down towards Twilight, “just a minute!”
I'd hop out of bed and run downstairs, ready for the day, though I could have gone for a little more sleep. After all, it IS 7 in the morning.
“Yes Twilight?” I asked, “What do you need?”
“Quills, parchment, and An Advanced guide to Dark Mythos, please.”
I never found out why she ever bothered to say please.
“No problem!” I said with gusto and enthusiasm.
I thought this was sort of weird. Dark Mythos? Why? It doesn't make sense!
Whatever. Its Twilight, she's probably studying or something.
I scurried off and retrieve the things she needed, glad to be useful.
5 days before Magic is Lost
She became obsessed with writing some sort of list of directions and tools and things.
Twilight stuff I guess.
2 days before Magic is Lost
The only time I saw her was this time she got a sandwich.
Guess she's not dead.
Ponies have been going missing. Wonder whats up?
Magic is Lost
It was like she didnt exist
To this day I have no idea where she went. However, She had left some things for me.

Everything In The Crypt
A map lied under the passes, showing how to get to The Crypt.
In The Crypt, I saw some.... unsettling things.
Various animals were skinned and pinned to the walls, looking like they were holding their flesh open, the guts hanging out, the smell was horrid. The muzzles were all intact, the muscles in them frozen to make it seem as though they were smiling at me.
I wanted to leave. We all want things we cant have sometimes. So I walked on, desperate for answers to many obvious questions, not sure I'd find them. But find them, I did. Liking them was impossible.
A couple yards in the gruesome “wallpaper” switched from ground animals like squirrels, bunnies, and chipmunks, to more airborne animals, robins, crows, mocking jays. Their beaks opened widely as if they were all in some never-ending song. Later it switched to something unforgivable.
It started with Bonbon, her face was perfectly intact, the muscles in them frozen to seem as if they were smiling wide. As if they were HAPPY to die. Their hooves were places, again, at the edges of their flayed flesh. Their guts hanging out, blood pooling. Blood was all over their hooves and faces, as if to say they did it to themselves. Their hearts were missing. Like they tore open their chests and ate their own hearts.
I took a break from remembering, it was too much then, and it's too much now.
I take a drink of water, which we took for granite for so long, and savor the flavor. I load my rifle, feeling the click in my heart.
I walked on, both terrified and desperate for even more answers to even more questions I knew wouldn't be answered. The gruesome scene on the walls did not complement the stone floors and tight space. As I walked on I wanted to vomit at the feeling of their mutilated flesh still squirmed with warmth and maggots, but I wanted answers. And I wanted them right then.
We all want things we can't have sometimes.
So I kept walking. Lyra, Golden Heart, Vinyl Scratch, now their muzzles were open as if to say,
“Look! We're singing! We're happy! Be happy with us!”
I would definitely not be happy with them.
I walked on. Mr. and Mrs. Cake, pierced by spikes. Dinky Hooves was... mutilated beyond belief.
Strips of flesh hung from the ceiling, her guts like a criss-cross ceiling decoration, the blood dripping on me. I wanted to vomit. And I did.
Directly into the open maw of Carrot Top.
I had to walk on their corpses now.
Whoever designed The Crypt is some sick bastard.
So they were. And I did. After a couple meters however....
The intestines from the ponies on the floor and walls were braided into a twisted tunnel, in a perfect circle.
It was clear what i had to do. Of course, I didn't like it. I crawled through the sadistic tunnel, and noted something, whoever did this pays a lot of attention to detail. As I went through it, it appeared to spin.
Again. Sick. Bastard.
I felt the guts and random patches of pony hair all around my body.
Absolutely sickening
[I'll have you know i crawled through a mile of pure gore and i only threw like up seven times.]
Afterwords I came upon something more. A chest. A book. And a sacrifice.
Safety Flame had been destroyed, her skelton was at the center of a pentagram constructed of her intestines. A candle had been planted in each of her organs, at each point of the pentagram.
The book glowed with a black aura, mythic and cold.
I didnt want to know what was in the chest.
But I opened it anyway. Inside was a rifle, a list of instructions, and a coat.
The coat was made out of Safety's flesh and fur. As soon as i collected it, it wrapped around me and cememnted in place, growing to cover most of my body not including my head.
So I have pony fur now. And whats up with Twilight and these damn lists!
I leveled the rifle towards Safety's still beating heart. And fired.
Magic shot out of the book at me and imbued within me a power I had not felt before. I blacked out.
And woke up to Hell on Equestria.
