Rose looked over the twilit sky, admiring at just how beautiful it made the landscape seem and even feel. It was like a warm final light before the soothing night chill puts you to sleep. She had seen it many times before, but still loved the landscape there.
Three months ago she moved in, and a year before, built the house. The landscape though...such a sight is a rarity across Equestria, thanks to the multitude of towns, cities, and villages that now settle into them. Celestia was careful when placing them though. That mare must love the landscape as much as Rose.
The doorbell snapped her out of her trance, and she took one last look at the landscape. The mountains in the background, the field in the center, the few trees dotting it, reachign high, and then the many trees that marked the Everfree, framing it all. And such an emerald green. She loved emeralds.
Leaving the balcony, rose hurried to the front door, and opened it, smiling to the grey mailmare.
"Ditzy doo!", she greeted the happy pegasus.
"How's it going, Amorous?", Ditzy smiled back.
"I said to call me Rose. I don't go by Amorous."
"Sorry, Rose. I got the surgery done, finally!", she pointed to her eye patch.
"Wow. Did they just completely blind it out, or what?"
"No. Thanks to the money you gave me, it expanded my options further. Thanks to you, I'll have perfect twenty-twenty vision in two weeks. Thanks Rose."
Rose nodded, "Anything for the only mail pony that would so much as glance at the distance taken to get here. You msut be tired, why don't you come in?", Rose asked.
"Sorry, Rose. As much as I'd like to hang out, I can't. It took me about half an hour to get here, and I've got only an hour left before my big date tonight."
"You finally asked him out?"
"Gossip of the week, I guess.", Ditzy rolled her eye up.
"Well, alright then. I can do without. I chose this place of solitude for a reason."
"Yeah. Beautiful place, considering location."
"Yeah. Can do anything with a huge fortune."
"Well, I'll see if I can get some of the other mail ponies to run this route. I can't be the only one comign this way, and it might help with the eh...problem."
"Problem? What problem?"
"Well. I feel kind of bad for even having to bring up the subject of...my plans. You jsut seem so lonely out here."
"Well...I've made due with myself here for this long, I can still manage."
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon, maybe."
"I see. Well, I'll see you later, Ditzy."
Ditzy removed the last thick stack of mail from her bag and gave it to Rose, turning to take off. After the mail mare had made it out of sight, Rose turned back inside, setting the stack on the dining room table. She'd deal with it later.
Returnign to the balcony, Rose looked over the darkening sky, a few stars poking out already.
"Just wish it weren't so lonely up here."
As she turned back around, she threw her hoof out, a ball of flames materializing and dancing about in the air as it made way to the fireplace, lighting the logs she had placed there an hour earlier. She smiled to herself. She is the only earth mare that can use magic as freely. Only one, and she's mastered everything from the basics of magic, levitating and such, and even the basic four elements of black magic. She could do much more than just throw fireballs. She could make her own hurricane if she put herself to the challenge.
The room became lit with white light, washing in fromt eh balcony window, and she turned around, shielding her hoof against the bright light that filtered in. It dimmed down, and a swirlign ball of flame plummeted to the ground below, landing smack dab in the middle of that perfect view that Rose was admiring not even five minutes ago.
"Meteor, comet, whatever you are, you just ruined my landscape.", she spoke to herself.
Her hooves began kicking up dust until a whorl of wind had coated each hoof. Jumping over the balcony edge, she spread her hooves evenly, slowly guiding herself from rock to rock, much like a goat would. As she hit the bottom, she looked ahead at the scorched center of the field, then sighed, taking off. elements at her disposal, such a distance took but a minute to surpass, and as she arrived, coated her hooves in flame, protecting them from the heated earth she was treading on.
It was simple enough, a direct impact crater made from a meteorite. Though, the center was still aglow and smoking heavily. As she approached, she gave herself a mask of wind, blowing away the toxins that now swirled around her.
She huffed and held her hooves apart, ready to clap them together, but stopped. The meteorite dimmed down to a black mass, and it was shaped just like a pony. The perfect red star cutie mark was a sure indicator that it was indeed, a pony.
Rose stood up from he rsitting position, then rose up, slamming her forehooves down on the soft ground. As she did, a rush of wind blew everything away from her, sending ash and soil everywhere until the form befor eher as cleared, and the ground around her, extinguished, livened, even.
Rose pondered what to do a moment, then approached the pony, shaking him gently with one hoof.
The pain in his side was unmistakable. Yep. Definitely hit something hard. Maybe an asteroid? Moon? couldn't be a gas giant, it'd have awakened him once it exploded.
He opened his eyes, staring up at the white and red mare over him. He looked at her, surprised for a moment, then blinked. She returned the gesture with a smile, then offered a hoof too him. Not a word was exchanged between them for the next few moments. Then he grabbed her with his forehooves, and pulled her down into a kiss, forcing his tongue into her mouth. A gesture which shocked Rose. She pulled away from him and he pulled his snake-like flat tongue back into his mouth, ushering a shiver from Rose.
"Your name is rose...", he looked at her, eyes a solid white.
"What the heck was going through your mind? you don't just kiss a mare the moment you meet her!", she said angrily.
"Oh...I'm sorry if that came out wrong. I just needed information."
"Then why didn't you ask?!"
"Because I wouldn't understand...", he drooped.
The strong taste of copper filled Rose's mouth, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Wha tdi you do to me?", she demanded.
"I got information. Processing such a complex nature is...hard."
"Do you know how creepy his is? I eman, you fell right out of the sky. Thats something which I would have seen as exotic, but now this is just-"
The black stallion grabbed her head again, and once again lcoked lips with her, running his tongue alogn the roof of her mouth once more. She tried to pull away, but his grip was tight, and it felt like his tongue was pressing deeper intot he roof of her mouth.
She panicked a moment, then froze, body stiff and rigid.
Calm down...
The thought was not her own, and even though she wanted to scream, it didn't happen, she was paralyzed. Even if she could, though, the feeling of fear easily dissipated, and the stallion let her go, leaving a sloppy spit string between the two of them.
He smiled up at her, and she blushed, turning away quickly.
"I can't really stay mad at anypony exotic."
The stallion rolled onto his hooves and looked at the ground around him before approaching Rose. She moved away slightly, but he got closer, snaking his tongue in ehr mouth for the third time.
"Would you stop that?!", she wrenched away.
"I'm simply trying to heal what damage I've caused."
"You're...weird...", she backed away.
He slowly approache dher once more and nuzzled against her, ushering another blush from Rose.
"You're a friendly stallion, I'll give you that."
"I find that my first sight when I wake up, being somepony beautiful, is...relaxing. I still can barely think straight."
"Well...would you like to come with me to my home?"
the black stallion looked at Rose, surprised ast first, then smiled, "That would be wonderful."
"But please stop kissing me. I mean, it's not unwelcome, just..."
"I understand."
"Well, it's a bit of a hike back, and-"
The black stallion took a hold o fher, and it felt as if she were thrown high in the air, landing back on her balcony, gently. She froze stiff, looking out over the impression once more. As she turned she met nose to nose with that black stallion.
"What did you jsut do?", she asked.
"I brought us here quickly."
"Well...I...I guess you could take the guest room."
He smiled and turned away, and as he did, it felt like a bright light that had shone directly on her, turned it's gaze away.
"I don't even know what to do...", she said to herself.
Taking one last look at the night sky behind her, she turned her gaze back to her forehooves, "But it can wait until tomorrow."
