The funeral day...
The funeral
Load Full StoryToday was the day that Apple bloom never wanted to see. Today is that she’d feared for the whole day, the whole week, the whole month. Today, was the funeral.
Apple bloom walked to her closet and chose the dress Rarity had made for her. The dress was pure black with covered with black sparkles on it. Everypony wore this kind of a dress today, for the death of a bright and happy pony. Applejack and Rarity both took it hard. Applejack was sent into days of crying fits and Rarity, weeks. Apple bloom could barely think about it without crying. Even Rainbow dash, the toughest pony, was sent into at least hours of crying.
Apple bloom fitted the dress. It was a perfect fit not to mention comfortable, but she HATED wearing it. Apple bloom sighed and walked out of her bedroom. She met eyes with Applejack. Applejack walked over to give her little sister a hug, but this only sent her into more tears.
“I know, Apple bloom. It’s okay.” Applejack rubbed the back of her little sister while she hugged her. “Are you ready to go?” Applejack tried to change the subject. Apple bloom nodded. “Okay then, let’s go downstairs.”
Apple bloom followed her big sister down the staircase. At the bottom she found Big mac, he wore a blank tuxedo and tie.
“Are you ready to go, Big mac?” Applejack asked.
“Eeyup.” Big mac didn’t looked like he had cried, but he had lost all emotion in his voice.
“Okay then, let’s go.” Applejack lead the way out the front door. Apple bloom slowly followed. The Apple family were headed to downtown Ponyville to where the funeral was being held. The trip usually took 5 minutes, but it felt like an hour. Apple bloom walked with her head layed low, trying not to cry.
Along the way Apple bloom found Scootaloo. She had obviously been crying. Apple bloom brought her in for a hug, but no words were spoken.
“This doesn’t make any sense! Why would she do this? Why didn’t she tell somepony? Why did it have to be her! This doesn’t make sense!” Apple bloom thought to herself.
Over the horizon, they saw the funeral. Something hit Apple bloom hard, probably due to the times they had spent together. Apple bloom saw Pinkie pie close to her. She wore a very dark black and her mane began to droop. Her eyes were focused on the ground. Applejack ran to comfort her friend.
Applebloom and Scootaloo took a seat somewhat near the front. Apple bloom looked to her right, Scootaloo was desperately trying to hold back tears, she wasn’t succeeding. Apple bloom hugged her friend, in an attempt to stop her own tears from flowing. Apple bloom noticed the speaker walking to the front. He began the funeral.
“Welcome, friends and family. We are gathered here today, in memory of a student, a
friend, and family member. This pony was an inspiration for all of Ponyville. This pony helped where needed, she helped the elderly, the school she went to, and her friends. Before I go on, she had left a will and wished this to be read at the funeral.
“Dear friends, family, and Ponyville. I write to you in a time of sadness, in time of fear, and a time of horror. For as long as I could remember, I suffered from depression. I never showed it because I wanted others to feel what I couldn’t...happy. Ponyville was a great place for me to help others to become...happy. I will never forget my time in Ponyville. Now that I’m writing this, Rarity, I’m so sorry to make you hear it this way. I never meant to hurt you, but all I ever do is mess up. I never help you, all I do is make a mess for you to clean up. But I need to let you that that I will always love you.
For Scootaloo and Apple bloom. Hey girls, I know this letter may be hard to believe and understand, but I need to tell you two of you somethings. The times I had with you were the best I’ve ever had in my lifetime. You two gave me joy, when I thought I couldn’t feel it. You two gave me hope, when hope was gone. You two gave me strength, when I was weak. But the thing you two gave me the most of was friendship. You two gave me friendship when I thought I was alone.
I will never forget the times I had with you, because they were the best in my whole life. I will never, ever forget the times we spent together, from the cockatrice incident to the sleepover parties. I remember every minute of it, and I treasure it. I’m so sorry to do this. But darkness and fear hold my brain and I’ve done everything to get rid of it, but it never goes away. There’s only one other thing I can think of, I’m sorry.
Apple bloom, I know that when you grow up you will be successful. You’ll have children and you’ll be amazing at what you do.
Scootaloo, You’re are going to go far in life my friend. You with that scooter! You travel so quickly! I can see great things in your future.
Girls, please don’t stop living life because of this. I didn’t want to do this to you, nor anypony. But I just need to get away from the black cloud forming in my head.
This is the last time you’ll hear from me. So have a nice life and be happy.
From a crying, Sweetie belle”
Apple bloom had broken down because of that note. Just to think a happy unicorn could do this! Suicide was never the option. It killed Apple bloom from the inside to know her friend committed suicide. The happiest and most generous pony she personally knew!
“And with that, I hereby wish Sweetie belle a nice afterlife in the heavens. You may stay for punch and to comfort one another.”
Apple bloom got up from her seat, and started to trot back to Sweet Apple Acres. A sad day indeed for Apple bloom, but today was the first day of the rest of her life.
Author's Note
Oh hey guys! Long time no see. Super sorry about not writing but I do have other things in life so...yeah. Also keep an eye out for a new fanfic coming your way very soon. I don't know why, but I have this thing for the Cutie mark crusaders. Like seriously this fanfic, a common interest, the fall of friendship. Like seriously! Never mind. But yes it is about the crusaders but one in particular and her adventures about hanging out with someone she hates. I'm not releasing anymore on that, you'll need to be on the look out on that. Anyways, this is Greenblaze signing out.
