“Miss Rarity?” came the whisper in her ear. “You've had a long afternoon. Time to wake up.” The hot, breathy voice was accompanied by a soft lick, making her sigh and open one eye.
Rolling onto her side, she looked up at another white unicorn with a mane and tail shaded a pale pink. Fleur had the slim legs and tiny barrel of a fashion filly, standing with her hind leg cocked in a fancy pose. “Did I fall asleep?”
A soft white nose dug into her ribs, making her squeak in protest and bat a hoof at Fleur. “For a while. But I can't blame you. It is a lovely spot in which to curl up.”
Rarity had been working on her designs and had apparently ended up drowsing in a window seat, her papers and charcoal pencils scattered around. Now she stretched and grunted as she felt a pop in her chest, always a sign that she'd gone and curled herself up too tightly. “This is much more comfortable than it first seemed. I dropped right off.”
“I've done that, too,” Fleur laughed, her musically deep voice vibrating in Rarity's ears. “And I know how to get that kink out.” Her magic enveloped a long, slender pillow and set it down in the middle of the living room. “Can you stand?”
She inched her hooves towards the ground and rather gracelessly staggered up onto all fours. Blinking, she tried giving herself a shake and groaned as something else twinged. “Just about.”
“Okay.” Fleur let her lean on her shoulder, gently guiding her over to the cushion and letting her flop down. “Just relax your tail, for starters.”
She obeyed and let her curly purple tail droop, feeling the tight muscles in her dock and croup complain. Ooof.
It had been only two days since she had come home from the Crystal Empire and the awarding of the Equestria Games. Of course, right after she had gotten home (and rescued Opalescence from Spikey-Wikey and the rest of that little gang of ruffian animals), she had sent a message to Fancy Pants, notifying him of their success. Merchandising contracts for the Games would be handed out very shortly and her first-hoof report to him would give him just the thinnest edge on his competitors.
To her surprise, an invitation to visit had arrived the next day. So, packing up some of her supplies, (and Opalescence. She wasn't giving up another quality gem for more pet care) Rarity had come to his home to work on designs. Fancy Pants had suggested that having them ready to go when the contracts were issued might give them even more of a leg-up. “High-end stuff only, though,” he had told her, “No need to waste your talents on some mass-produced pennants or cheap tchotchkes.”
“And? How goes the creative?” Fleur asked, padding her hooves along Rarity's spine.
She grunted and stretched her hindquarters out a little more as she immediately felt knots move beneath Fleur's touch. “It goes, darling. It goes. A bit higher, please? Oh, I've been sleeping so badly lately.”
“Is there a problem with your bed?” Fleur pressed down into her withers, gliding her touch slowly over the backs of her shoulders. “We do have plenty of spare pillows if the ones in your room are too soft.”
“Oh, no, no . . . I was referring to the number of train rides I've been enduring recently. While those seats are comfortable, it's difficult for me to sleep in such a space.” She mmmphed as Fleur gently mounted and settled her thighs against her own flanks, leaning in on her shoulders and pushing forward. The slow stretch of her spine eased some of the tightness and there was a series of small clicks as things popped back into place. “Ooooh . . . you see?”
“A couple more days in a fancy bed and you'll be much better,” she suggested, leaning down to nose just behind her ear. “Hmm. Tense here, too. You have been using too much magic, I think.”
Rarity turned her head and gave her a pleading look. “Do you think you could . . . ”
“Just hold still.” And then a hot, wet mouth seized onto Rarity's ear and began tugging. Tension flowed away from the heavy bone that supported her horn as the ear muscles stretched. Her tail flagged weakly, happily as Fleur let go and latched onto the other ear, pulling up and eliciting another moan as more relief washed through her. “Like that?” she murmured around her ear.
“Mmmhmmm,” she breathed out, feeling better already. “Bless you.” This was a bit more intimate than she was used to in a massage, but she trusted Fleur implicitly.
Her muzzle pushed into the side of Rarity's neck. “No, thank you for agreeing to help my Fancy Pants,” she replied, giving the crest of her mane a soft bite and tug. “Mmm. He's been hoping for a chance at something like the Equestria Games for a long while.” Slim thighs gave Rarity a gentle squeeze and both mares settled a bit more into each other. Pink and purple tails switched back and forth slowly.
“Nnnghhh.”
“That sounds like a happy pony,” Fleur teased, gently digging into the sides of her shoulders and shifting her weight to rock against her croup a little. “You've had a nice nap in the sun and a massage. How can your day get any better?”
“Are you going to tell me?” Rarity murmured, tilting her head to the side and licking her muzzle.
“The evil, business part of me would suggest that you take some time tonight and finish up those designs for him. But the fun-loving, irresponsible part of me thinks it would be a treat if you really could finish those designs for him.” Oh, she could almost sense the smirk on Fleur's face. “And, if you do, there may be more in it for you.” Another slow squeeze from those thighs made her grunt.
She half-wondered if this was some sort of pre-planned seduction, although she had never known Fancy Pants to mix business with pleasure. Perhaps Fleur thought she was more interested in mares and was doing this of her own volition? Rarity had had clumsier offers in her time and had always turned them down, but she did appreciate the attempt that at least had some skill behind it.
Then the weight of Fleur's hindquarters was resting on her dock and the gentle pressure made Rarity gaze back over her shoulder in slight confusion at the unusual sensations. Violet eyes met her gaze, because Fleur had crossed her forelegs over her withers and was looking very mischievous. Her pink tail flicked down and she gave a deliberate, saucy wiggle.
Oh, yes. She was good. But Rarity never bowed to pressure this easily. Even if she didn't understand just how Fleur was creating that interesting feeling against her croup. “If I do manage to finish them tonight . . . and I do mean 'if',” she purred, “am I allowed to choose my own reward?” Turnabout was fair play, after all. If only she hadn't let that minx of a unicorn pin her down so easily!
Fleur tilted her head to the side and smirked. “If you like. But you will do your best, won't you?”
Rarity huffed back and propped herself up on her forelegs in a back-stretching arch that wouldn't have been possible ten minutes earlier, enough to almost touch muzzles with her. “When have I not?”
“I suppose we'll find out shortly.” Fleur's warm breath caressed her jaw, then she gave her muzzle a quick, gentle nip. “My word, I loosened you up nicely, didn't you? I look forward to doing it again later, if you so desire.”
Oh, my. So many ways to construe that entendre. Taking her time, Rarity considered her options, doing her best to ignore that slow shift of Fleur's thighs and hips against her body. Honestly, she was every bit as close as Fluttershy had been when she had fallen during the practice pony pyramid for the Equestria . . . Games . . .
The memory of that unfortunate pileup suddenly reasserted itself and Rarity sat up a little straighter. True, this was every bit as intimate, however, there was also one large difference, as it were. Oh. That explains . . . things.
Fleur nosed at her cheek and gave her a lick. “Miss Rarity? Are you all right?”
She eeped and came back to herself with a start, curling back down and gazing up at her with a new sort of appreciation. “I . . . um . . . yes.”
“Good. I should let you get back to your work. Just see Fancy Pants when you're done.” With a smirk that said, I believe I have made my point and gotten your attention, Fleur slipped gracefully off her back and stood up, that hind leg tucked up again. With a swish of her hindquarters, she sauntered off.
Rarity stared after her, eyes wide.

Fancy Pants looked up in surprise as Rarity scurried into the room, all her papers floating ahead of her in an untidy ball. “What's the matter, my dear? Aren't the designs coming —” His words were cut off as her grip on them suddenly faltered; rather than coming to rest on his desk like she had intended, they flung themselves into his face. “I say!”
“Sorry! Sorry!” She gathered herself and the papers quickly shuffled together and laid themselves neatly in front of him. “Um, yes. If you'd care to take a look, this is the direction I want to take our. . . ideas. Yes.”
He captured them in his own magic and flipped through them. “Very nice, Rarity. If you can top these off with your usual flair, I would be interested in using the first, fifth, and seventh designs.” He set them all aside and tipped his front hooves together. “However, you look rather flustered at the moment. What's the matter?”
Rarity gave him a weak smile and shook her head. “Well, I don't know if it's exactly . . . oh, I'll just come out and say it, shall I? It's Fleur.”
"Ah," he said, chuckling. “Oh, dear. Did she try her patented 'be a good pony and finish your work and you might get to play later' routine?”
“Yes, she did.” She whuffed nervously. “But that's not my problem. I can give as well as I get with that. It's more that . . . well, she sort of caught me off guard with something.”
Fancy Pants sighed. “I believe I can guess. But perhaps we should make sure so I don't assume?”
Rarity gestured rather awkwardly. “She just, oh, this is going to sound silly, she . . . straddled me while delivering an absolutely divine massage. And I didn't give it much of a thought at first. But, the other night, when I was rehearsing for the Crystal Empire bid, one of my Pegasus friends landed on me. And there was a difference. One which my traitorous brain decided to bring up just a few minutes ago.” She looked at him. “I felt Fleur's sheath, Fancy Pants. The same as if you would have lain on me.”
“And if I suggested your mind was playing tricks on you?” He shrugged lightly. “Memory is a very uncertain thing, Rarity. You could just have been dreaming. Half-asleep, the haze of pleasure beneath her hooves. . . I've been there with Fleur's massages. One can never be sure what they're feeling."
"I suppose." She gave a little whine and her curly tail flicked from side to side in sudden agitation. “If it were any other pony, I'd be happy to ignore it and go back to living in my comfortable little world. But I don't think I should do that.”
He leaned forward. “And why not? What's in it for you?”
“Discomfort,” she admitted, “and perhaps a little embarrassment. But I have to challenge myself and if that means getting used to a mare who's not quite a mare, then so be it. I admit, I've seen some stallions who can wear a dress and get away with it, but I have never seen one who looks like Fleur.”
Fancy Pants nodded, looking pleased. “Of course you haven't. She's very good at what she does.” He got up. “You look as if you need something strong. I know I do if I'm going to talk about this." Opening a cupboard, he produced a carved crystal salter and a golden spoon, bringing them back to the table.
Rarity sat and watched as he pushed his sleeve back, licked his fetlock, and used the spoon to sprinkle some salt on the edge of his hoof, before accepting it and doing the same, letting the salt crystals stick to the wet patch of her coat. “I know it's completely inappropriate for me to pry, but I think she meant for me to find out.”
He nipped at his leg, then looked up. “I'm hardly surprised, but I'm glad it's you she's done this to. Fleur and Photo Finish have been feuding over this for years and we're very lucky she's got a strange sense of honour and hasn't bothered going to the press or to anypony else who could make trouble for us. Oh, there are a couple other ponies who know, but it's hardly an open secret throughout Canterlot.”
She licked her own fetlock and let the salt tingle against her tongue. “Photo Finish? What on earth is that about?”
“Let me start at the beginning, then. And please know that while Fleur will understand that I'm talking to you, this really isn't my story to tell and she will probably want to correct some things.” Fancy Pants took another slow lick, then sighed. “Fleur was born a colt. Let us be clear about that. And he was very young when there was an accident. Supposedly, he and his friends were being foolish, daring each other to jump over a fence. A fence that was topped with barbed wire. They even had a little ramp and everything. On his last jump, his hooves slipped and he landed quite badly.”
Rarity cringed.
“My sentiments exactly. Luckily for him, the damage was limited to a certain section and the doctors decided to geld him rather than remove everything. It's not a technique they use very often, although many surgeons do still know how to do it with the minimum of discomfort.” He shifted a bit. “So yes, Fleur is still quite functional. Just unable to reproduce.”
“I don't know where to begin,” she murmured. “There's just so much that's contradictory about her.”
“Which is what drew me towards her in the first place,” he agreed. “I'd never seen a mare that slender and leggy, but with a voice even deeper than mine. And she never stood like an ordinary pony. She was always striking unusual poses, which I later learned are just camouflage. She kicks her hind legs up in a way that hides her sheath or just completely draws attention away from her thighs. And I've been used as a prop by her. Ponies look at us and think 'there's no way that that isn't a trophy mare' and that she's had a great deal of work done to look like that. But it's just a stallion's height with none of the neck or shoulder thickness that you'd normally get. She did have her muzzle re-shaped, though, to complete the impression she wants to give.”
“How did Photo Finish find out?” Rarity's mind whirled as she tried to pull all this information together
Fancy Pants sprinkled more salt on his fetlock. “The way Fleur looks now, it's almost natural that she became a model. Clothes just hang off her in the right way. So when she broke into the business, she had a lot of photographs taken. Photo Finish originally thought she was just a plastic pony and looked down on her, but then came a show where they were both backstage and, well, let's just say that she was at the wrong, or right, angle. Well, if a plastic pony was bad, a stallion 'masquerading' as a mare was worse. Since then, the two of them have made sure they're not at each other's shows.”
“My, how awkward.”
“Quite. We pass it off as either Photo Finish being cheap or Fleur having standards. It keeps the gossips focused on other things.” He gave another lick and a content sigh. “I realize everything I've said sounds preposterous, but it's all I know. She may have found spells of which neither of us are aware to make parts of it possible.”
Rarity reached for a glass of water before nosing along her fetlock for any stray salt crystals. Finding a couple, she nipped at them. “I should apologize for asking you about this rather than her, but there was no way you wouldn't have known. You do share a bed, after all.” Looking up at him, she blushed. “I wasn't sure what to do, either, when she was being so, well, blatant in the other room. If I read her innuendo and implications correctly . . . what am I letting myself in for?”
Looking more relaxed, he patted her hoof with his own. “You did say you felt like broadening your horizons, but it doesn't have to be today and it doesn't have to be ever, if you're not comfortable with the concept. Fleur and I have talked about you, but then again, we talk about several ponies we'd be interested in. Naturally, your little discovery has moved you to the top of the list.”
Rarity sat there with her mouth open, knowing she looked foolish, but she just didn't know what to say. Was this yet another test to see if she was ready to step into the decadence of Canterlot society? Oh, heavens, she didn't need this on top of all the other stress she had been going through. After Princess Cadance's hair debacle, she wasn't sure even a week at the Luxury Lotus Spa would be enough to unwind her.
On the other hoof, it might be just the thing she needed for the stress. And she might have been ready to step upstairs with the Fleur and Fancy Pants she had known before this. Now that she knew the truth, she would be upstairs with . . . whom? “As flattering as that is . . . it's one thing to roll around with a couple. It's another to go upstairs with a couple of stallions.” She hesitated. “Oh, I shouldn't really call her that, should I?”
Fancy Pants shook his head. “No, you shouldn't. She may have been born a colt, but is now a mare, for all intents and purposes in her life. But you're still referring to her as 'her', which is the right way to start.” He considered things briefly as she gazed at him. “Perhaps you should come up tonight anyways and get everything out in the open, so to speak.”
Rarity pricked her ears up. “Well, I suppose I could, but first I shall have to finish these.” Her magic gently whisked the sheaf of papers off the table as she trotted around and gave his cheek a quick nuzzle. “After all, as a pony just told me, one must finish her work before she can have her reward.”

Standing out on her balcony, Rarity dipped her horn towards the silver sliver in the night sky. It was days from the new moon and this was the time when Princess Luna was more attentive to those who petitioned her. “Grant this foolish pony a small measure of your joy, Luna,” she murmured. “And let me bring that joy to those I want to be with tonight.”
She had put the final touches on her designs for Fancy Pants. Who was probably in his bedroom across the hall right now. With Fleur De Lis. Waiting for her. Well, she was quite ready to not make them wait any longer.
Her room still looked as if Rainbow Dash had staged a nose-first landing, which was how every one of her creative efforts turned out. But Rarity gently suppressed the urge to sweep up the stray pages and rolls of cloth she had strewn across her bed. No, she was being naughty tonight. And what better way to express it than to not tidy up?
Prancing through the debris, she used her magic to select her most dashing and fashionable dressing-gown, wrapping it around her barrel in a swirl of magic and cinching the belt. After all, one didn't attend a seduction without having something to take off.
She paused to eye herself critically in the mirror, a brush quickly smoothing down a few stray strands of her mane. If only there were time to catch a ride back to the Crystal Empire and beg Princess Cadance to let her resume her crystal form for just one night. Oh, to be bedded while in that state of gleaming beauty! One day, she promised herself, she would achieve that dream. But not tonight. Tonight was different.
The knock on her door made her start and bump a hoof against the mirror. Stifling a small noise, she turned around to see Fleur De Lis in the hallway. “Oh. I was just about to . . . ”
“I can see that. But I just wanted to see if you had any questions that you didn't want to ask with Fancy Pants in the room.” Looking her up and down, Fleur smiled. “I see you've read Honeysuckle's book, too. 'When accepting an invitation to a pony's bed, always arrive with something on so it can be removed for their pleasure',” she recited, stepping into the room and giving a slow twirl to allow Rarity to appreciate her own short, sheer dressing gown with the ribbon knotted at her throat.
Blushing, Rarity admired her poise. “I admit, I find her quite contradictory at times. Because she also says 'If a pony can have style while completely nude, that pony is a joy to welcome into one's bed'.” She stepped away from the mirror. “You did startle me this afternoon.”
“I apologize for the rather crude way in which I revealed myself to you.” Fleur murmured, giving her a kiss on the nose. “But you are such an adorable innocent that I couldn't resist.”
She bit back her first response, forcing her ears to perk up instead of going back. Adorable innocent? Why, I've had a threesome before! And Sapphire Shores once . . . Rarity struggled to not let her entire laundry list of sexual encounters spill out. “I suppose I can forgive you,” she finally said. “And if I might ask, what about your family?” She sidled just a bit closer. “They must have been worried about you when you were hurt.”
“Also when they had to deal with a son who made the eventual decision that it was easier for him to be their daughter,” Fleur said, then sighed. “They were very frightened for me, but never stopped loving me.” She glanced back along herself. “My father, of all ponies, has not blinked once at who I am, or who I became. It was him who helped me scrape together the bits to have the last couple of changes made after I was finished with school so nopony would ever again look at me and say, 'gelding'. He called it an investment in my future. I called it a loan and worked hard to pay him back every bit.”
Rarity stopped her lower lip from quivering. A pony about to enter the bed of another did not cry, after all. “Oh, how lovely. I wonder if my parents would have done the same for me.”
Fleur gently stepped around so she could put a foreleg over Rarity's withers. “I know they would.”
“How?” she asked.
“Simple. They named their daughter 'Rarity'.” She winked. “Come on. You simply must see the house-coat Fancy Pants thinks looks good on him. Perhaps you can help me make him throw it away.”
With a giggle, Rarity brushed at her eyes and allowed herself to be led from the room.

She fully expected to be led to the left, to where she knew Fancy Pants and Fleur's bedroom was. However, Fleur turned to the right, and Rarity shot a puzzled glance over her shoulder. “You don't use your bedroom?”
“Sometimes, when we're already in bed. But if it's not as spontaneous, we do prefer using the boudoir instead because things can get rather messy.” Fleur smiled. “It's not always spur of the moment. Especially with how we tend to schedule our lives in Canterlot.” She swished her pink tail from side to side. “One runs into last-minute dress-fittings, fashion shows, invitations to things one would rather not attend . . . and it helps to say, 'No, we have some personal time scheduled'. Plus it sometimes allows us to plan something extravagant.”
“Extravagant can be good.” Rarity stopped and raised her foreleg, apprehensive again. She had heard the story from Fancy Pants, but she was sure there were still things she was missing. And she preferred that she get those things straight before she let the boudoir door close behind her. “Might I ask . . . how should I treat you tonight?”
Fleur looked back, her smile not fading. “What, as a stallion or a mare? Why would I limit myself in that fashion?”
She blinked in surprise. “Oh. Was Fancy Pants wrong when he said that you considered yourself a mare?”
“In public, I am very much a mare.” Fleur turned with an agile twitch of her slender hips. “But it's rather difficult to hide myself in bed, however long it takes to get me in the mood.” She gave another shimmy. “Being gelded may have lowered my desire, but it's not something that can be eliminated entirely.”
“I don't believe I'm understanding very well.” Rarity sat down and rubbed her foreleg against her muzzle. “Help me?”
“Of course.” Fleur's breath tickled her ear and was followed by a gentle nuzzle. “While I do present as being one of the prettiest trophy mares Canterlot has ever seen, I've also chosen to accept that some parts of me aren't ever going away. It isn't as if I could just have every trace of my former life as a stallion removed. Neither medicine nor magic has advanced to that point.” She cocked a hind leg and looked back at herself. “Some might expect me to be ashamed or unhappy with that certain part of my body. I admit, that was the case for a few years. I wanted to have it gone and just be Fleur De Lis, the fashion mare. Then I met Fancy Pants.”
“And?” Rarity flicked her ears forward.
“To hear him tell it, he found both my body and my brains interesting.” Fleur nickered softly. “It took ages for me to open up to him about who I really was and who I had been. The idea of not changing to meet the love of another pony was difficult. He convinced me that it was all right and I could be whomever I felt most comfortable being. So it makes no difference to me how you would like to approach me in my boudoir. I've learned to be open about it.”
Rarity swallowed and let herself breathe deeply, trying to settle the butterflies in her stomach. Heaven help her, she was going to do this. “All right.”
Fleur looked happy as she offered a foreleg and pulled her back up onto all four hooves. “Do you have any other awkward questions, or would you rather wait until we've snuggled you for a bit?”
“I believe I'll take things as they come from here on in, thank you.” Rarity followed her to the door at the end of the hallway and allowed Fleur to lead her across the threshold.
The room was draped in satin and silks, lit in orange, red, and violet. Lanterns flickered behind cut-metal frames that cast oddly-shaped shadows on the walls. There were gems scattered here and there, on tabletops, on the nightstand, and even some on the bed itself. It stood by the far wall, a large, red, and round bed, with a white unicorn stallion lounging carelessly on top. And he was wearing what was indeed the most hideous plaid dressing gown Rarity had ever seen in her life.
Words failed her. She couldn't even pull her jaw up to begin articulating the horror that lay in front of her. Her natural magic flared to life and tried to offer her a haven by making something, anything out of the material around her, but she kept getting distracted by the sheer painfulness of the pattern in that gown and her magic was getting confused with all the gems present, so things fizzled out as rapidly as they had begun with a rather emphatic pop!.
“See?” came a wheezing noise from somewhere behind her. “It's ugly!”
Fancy Pants chortled and simply relaxed further into the covers. “Oh, now. This was willed to me by my Uncle Satin Boxer. He never lost a boxing match when he wore this to the ring. He called it his good luck charm and I happen to feel it bears the same luck for me in bed.”
“Yes, because I encourage you to take it off as quickly as possible to save my eyesight!” Fleur yipped.
“Oh, very well.” Fancy Pants did a bit of an eye-twinkle that Rarity swore was a trick of the light, then he was undoing the knot on the robe and sliding out of it, and for the first time that she could ever remember, she saw all of his white coat. No jacket. No vest. No lace cuffs. Just one hundred percent well-groomed, handsome, blessedly naked stallion.
Oh, yes. That was how one breathed. In. Then out.
As she regained her composure, Rarity gave a dignified shake and swept up his gown in her magic. “I believe I shall just put this somewhere out of sight for the rest of the evening,” she said. With a flick of her head, she tossed the offending garment out the door and closed it behind her.
Fleur's tongue softly brushed the back of her ear and Rarity forgot how to breathe again. “Thank you ever so much,” she murmured. “Now, we thought you might like to do this with just a few gems around, given your cutie mark and all, but perhaps we should sweep them off the bedspread before we join him?”
“Allow me.” Rarity obliged with a sweep of her magic, the rubies and emeralds whisked off to land on the floor with a clatter. “I believe there's room for all three of us on there. Shall we?”
Both mares sashayed over to the bed and Rarity allowed Fleur to go first, watching as she hopped up and settled down with every bit of elegance that a fashion pony possessed. As Fleur gave the customary stretch and wiggle of her hindquarters, she tilted her muzzle up and Fancy Pants obliged her with a kiss. Then both of them looked over at Rarity.
“I take it that I am to tell nopony else about anything I have seen or done here tonight?” she asked. “Although, if I can be honest, who would believe me? Other than Photo Finish.”
Fleur rolled her eyes. “That's one name we don't need to hear for a while. I admit it does give me great satisfaction to have success in a career that she denies is suitable for a pony like me.”
