Chapters Prologue-New-Fangled Contraptions
It started out as a pretty typical day for the lawyer known as Klonoe Clark, although soon, this would no longer be the case. Klonoe was lying on his imported sofa, waiting for something to do, even if it meant having to discus another boring case with a client. He fidgeted, started to twiddle his thumbs, then let out a deep, long sigh. His grandson, Bekhin, looked up from his computer and centered his attention on the creator of this very loud and obnoxious noise.
"Grandfather, what is the problem?" Bekhin asked, still eyeing the computer.
Klonoe sighed, and replied,"Oh, I just am tired of waiting, you know how I am with time."
"Yeah, I guess so." Bekhin replied, not paying attention as usual.
Klonoe thought for a minute, and smiled.
"Hey Bekhin!" he shouted, grinning.
"What?" Bekhin groaned glancing over at the old man.
"Would you like to watch television?" Klonoe asked his grandson.
Bekhin gasped, and, his eyes gleaming, began to waggle his head up and down in rapid succession.
"Yes please!" He shrieked excitedly.
Klonoe smiled. "Such a wonderful child." he thought to himself.
Klonoe then handed the remote to the child, who then bounded over to the couch and promptly sat down and began combing the many channels the television had to offer. Klonoe, losing interest rapidly, decided to return to his basement and resume his studies. Now, lately, Klonoe had a large interest in inter-dimensional travel, among other things. His son, his brother, and his friends all told him that he was crazy and his idea would never work but he didn't let that get to him. After all, Klonoe Clark was known to be a very stubborn man, and getting him to desert an idea, especially his own, was even more uncommon than a clown to come up to somebody and actually make them laugh. He made decisions on logic, not speculation, which is how he got his law degree.
He began to traverse down the long, winding staircase, and groaned. If this worked, he would be rich, but time and time again, the program failed. He sighed deeply.
"If it fails this time, I'll just have to give up." He reassured himself.
Klonoe, now in his study, sat down at his smooth mahogany desk and rebooted his expensive computer tower, and turned on the HD computer monitor as well. He stared at the screen, still showing its signature loading screen. He clicked his shiny leather shoe on the wooden floor impatiently as he waited for his computer to boot. He sighed, and began to doze off...
"Ding dong dong ding!" The computer sang.
"Why you little trickster..." he muttered.
He clicked on his profile picture, which was a black-and-white picture of him, his friends James and Susan. He placed his chin in his hands for a moment.
"Those two sure do make a good couple. Just like me and Ma-" he began to think, but shook this thought away.
Klonoe typed in his password, which was WolfLove23. He loved canines of all shapes and sizes, but his rather aggressive demeanor made it rather hard to realize this fact. He stared at his desktop, and double-clicked the program labeled as Boot.bat. He expected another message like,"The system is offline." but instead, he received a shocking sight.
There, on his screen was a command prompt window, which in itself is rather simple. Inside of the window, however, was a sight Klonoe never expected to see.
"All systems are go. Continue? y/n." The window said.
Klonoe gaped in astonishment, then he started to giggle, then broke into a full blown chuckle. Soon enough, he was laughing his head off. Unfortunately, a fly flew into his mouth at that exact moment.
"Gack! Ugh!" Klonoe wheezed, hitting his back.
"Grandpa? You alright?" Bekhin shouted, concerned.
"Yes, I'm fine." Klonoe sighed, coughing one last time.
"That's good. Now, please be quiet, I'm watching the television!" Bekhin shouted, annoyed.
"What show?" Klonoe replied, just out of sheer interest.
Bekhin sighed loudly.
"It's My Little Pony!" he yelled. "Please leave me alone!"
Klonoe grabbed his hair and began to growl.
"Fine!" he shouted tiredly.
Klonoe walked over to the computer and opened his video chat program. He selected the profile picture of James and Susan, and clicked it twice. He waited patiently as a loud ringing sound was heard from the computer. Eventually, an image of a rather middle aged man, with black greasy hair and a scar on the side of his left check appeared on the screen.
"Klonoe, what is it?" he sighed. "It's like three in the morning!"
"Actually, its 2:35 PM." A voice replied.
Next to James appeared a woman, middle aged, with black silky hair, and a dog shaped earring.
"Hey guys!" Klonoe shouted happily. "Guess what?"
"What?" James replied picking up a muffin from a plate.
"It works." he said, smiling like a lunatic.
James spat out his wad of partly chewed muffin on the floor.
"Is it that bad?" A girl sighed off screen.
"No dear, off course not. Anyways, Klonoe, we'll be right there, but can Autumn come with us? She's been dying to play with him again." Susan asked Klonoe.
"Sure, no problem." Klonoe answered, smiling.
"Alright. See you there!" She stated, with a grin.
Klonoe clicked the exit button of the program and started to prepare for the demonstration.
Soon enough, the three visitors had arrived at the house.
"Shall I knock?" James said tiredly.
"Yes, you shall." Susan announced.
Autumn face palmed.
Bekhin was having a good day. First, he got to spend the day at his grandpa Klonoe's, now he got to watch television.
Yes, Bekhin was very happy. Then he heard a knock.
"Who's there?" He asked suspiciously.
"It's your aunt Susan and your uncle James!" Susan replied loudly.
"Oh, alright." He said, unlocking the door."Come on in."
"Thanks." James told the kid, rubbing his hair."Where's that old Klonoe gone off to?"
"Him? Oh, he's off in his study." Bekhin replied pointing to a nearby stairway.
"Thanks dear." Susan smiled, then walked off with James down the stairwell.
Bekhin grinned, then walked over to Autumn.
"Hey Autumn, I have an awesome idea!" he said, grinning ear to ear.
"What Bekhin?" Autumn said, smiling too as well.
"A prank!" Bekhin grinned.
"Yes!" Autumn squealed, jumping in the air, but suddenly stopped.
"But on who?" Autumn asked confused.
Bekhin gestured for Autumn to follow him. Confused, Autumn complied. Down they went, listening to the adult's discussion. They sneaked into the room and hid behind the controls.
"On the adults." Bekhin whispered, giggling.
"Bekhin, it looks like they're doing something important." Autumn replied nervously, "We shouldn't interfere..."
"Hm....what does THIS button do?" Bekhin squealed, pressing the button.
"No no no no no no no!" Klonoe shouted, running to the computer.
Klonoe gave the children an cold glare.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?" he shrieked.
"Um, pranked you?" Bekhin laughed nervously.
Klonoe simply screamed with rage, while the machinery began to go faster, and faster.
Klonoe ran into the living room, grabbed a backpack and shoved his laptop, wireless charger, phone, and tablet in the bag, and ran back into the study. In the study, things were....not very good.
Autumn shrieked.
"What's that?!?" She shouted.
In the center of the room, what looked like a giant vortex had appeared.
"Nothing good I bet!" James shouted, running for the stairs.
In an instant, however, he began to fly into the vortex.
"No! Honey!" Susan shouted, jumping in after him.
"Eeeek!" Autumn shrieked, also flying in.
"We're blasting off again!" Bekhin shouted, giving Klonoe his trademark goofy smile.
Klonoe sighed as the vortex began to expand. Suddenly, he felt light headed and couldn't feel the ground. He looked around, and to his astonishment, he was flying head first into the vortex. As he entered it, he shed a tear. Then, all was black.

Chapter 1- Computers, chaos, and changing times.
Klonoe rubbed his head with his bruised hands, wondering what had just happened.
"Where am I?" he asked no one in particular. "Is this some kind of forest?"
He stood up, and looked around.
He suddenly stopped. On the ground lay James, Susan, Bekhin, and Autumn, seemingly unconscious from the stressful ordeal. Klonoe grimaced and held his chin in his hand.
"Those naughty little scamps." he scowled. "I never should have agreed to let them see each other again."
"Well, at this rate, nightfall probably isn't very far away, so it would be in our best interest if I built a temporary shelter for nightfall, as there is no possible way to find out what kind of creatures could be lurking around here, and it would be most unfortunate if they found us unprepared." he said aloud.
"Huh, what?" James questioned drowsily."What is going on?"
"Ah, I see you're awake." Klonoe stated, monotonously. "Was it your idea for Autumn and Bekhin to pull that prank on the machine?"
"Why of course not!" James replied indignantly."How could you suggest such a thing!"
"Your wife was the one who suggested Autumn should come along!" Klonoe shouted.
"Why you little...." James growled.
"Let's just end this now." A voice stated.
The two men looked over at the source of the sound which happened to be Susan, who woke up due to their squabble.
James sighed.
"Sorry K." James groaned.
"Same to you." Klonoe apologized.
"Now that all that is over, lets-" Susan began.
But then, she stopped.
"What's wrong darling?" James questioned.
"Something is watching us." Susan replied.
Slowly, the three turned to face the nearby bushes, and soon a small creak was heard.
"I'll go look." Klonoe crept over to the bush and peered in, but suddenly, he reeled back in pain.
"What the floop!" he cried stroking his beard, but feeling a warm liquid.
He looked at his hands and came to a shocking realization.
"MY FACE!" he shouted, waking everyone nearby, including Bekhin, Autumn and a certain other creature.
Almost instantly, a small head belonging to a hen rose from the bush, and slowly stared at them.
"Aw! It's so precious!" Autumn ran over to the hen and plucked it out of the bush.
She looked at it's face and smiled, but then slowly looked down at it's lower half. Instead of cute little chicken legs, there was only a long serpent-like tail.
"Ew!" Autumn shrieked, dropping the creature and running over to Bekhin."Gross, gross, GROSS!"
The chicken-like thing glared at Autumn, offended by her statement.
"Now dear, I think you made it mad." James joked.
The thing, eyes burning with anger, started glaring at Autumn.
Suddenly, Autumn couldn't feel her legs. She looked down at her feet and mentally screamed. Instead, she saw a gray stiffness creeping up her legs.
"Dad! Help!" she screamed.
James glared at the thing.
"NO ONE HURTS MY FAMILY!" he screamed.
James leaned down and grabbed a stick and ran for the thing.
"DIE YOU FREAK OF NATURE!" he shouted.
James began to rapidly pound the stick into the creature's back, resulting in it emitting a large scream.
"DIE!" he shrieked again.
The creature gave one last look at James before it finally passed on. James sighed and wiped the blood off his face. He walked over to Autumn and sternly looked at her.
"Didn't I tell you not to mess with whatever kind of creature you see?" he scolded.
"I'm sorry father." Autumn sighed tiredly.
"James!" Susan yelled at her husband.
"What?" James replied, turning to face Susan.
"How can you possibly be so inconsiderate?" Susan shouted.
James thought for a minute then realized his mistake.
"Oh, sorry Autumn," he apologized,"Are you hurt?"
"Not really..." Autumn stated,"But I can't move my legs."
"Hey, Klonoe?" James asked. "You went to medical school in college, right?"
"Only for a semester," Klonoe admitted. "But yes, I did."
"Good." James said. "Can you check on Autumn?"
"Sure, I guess." Klonoe replied walking over to the girl.
"Now, this will only hurt for a minute..." he told her.
"Alright, Uncle Klonoe." Autumn replied bravely.
He walked over to Autumn's legs, and hit his hand on her leg. To his surprise, he felt nothing but rock.
"What?" Klonoe stated, confused. "Her legs are as hard as rock!"
"Autumn, are you ok?" Bekhin said, running to her.
"Yes, but according to your grandpa, my legs are stone." Autumn replied, giggling.
"Does that mean we can't play football?" Bekhin stated, trying hard not to laugh.
"Yes Bekhin, yes." Autumn answered, tiredly.
"We need to find a hospital." Susan said out of nowhere.
"Yes, quite." James agreed, looking at Klonoe, who nodded.
"That will work." he said.
"Then let's be off." Susan said, gesturing for everyone to follow her.
As they walked out of the forest, Klonoe heard something. He looked around, and, finding nothing, decided to carry on, and disregarded the noise. Little did he know this noise would end up being something that would change his life forever.
Chapter 2- Out of the darkness
Bekhin, quite frankly, was bored. He had nothing to do but walk, and for a 4 year old kid, that does not really suffice. He sighed, gradually louder and louder, until finally the noise coming from his mouth was not possible to ignore.
"Bekhin, what is it?" Klonoe groaned.
I'm bored!" Bekhin replied.
"Then don't be." James responded, grinning.
"But I can't!" Bekhin sighed. "I want something to do!"
"I have to agree with Bekhin on this one." Autumn stated,frowning. "We need something to do."
Klonoe groaned.
"Kids these days." he muttered.
"Hey, I have an idea!" Susan exclaimed, jumping into the conversation.
"What is it, Aunt Susan?" Bekhin asked gleefully.
"How about you run ahead and look around and see if you can find some trace of civilization." Susan replied excited. "You could be detectives!"
"It sounds good, but I can't come." Autumn told her mother, sighing
"Why not?" Bekhin asked her.
Autumn, annoyed, pointed at her legs.
"Hehehe." Bekhin laughed nervously. "Sorry."
"Well, then it's settled." Susan him, smiling. "Now, go on!"
"Here I go!" Bekhin shouted.
Susan smiled, feeling the pleasure of doing a good deed. However, suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder.
"What was that for!" she shouted, turning around to face Klonoe.
"Are you out of your mind!?!" Klonoe shouted at her.
"Come on Klonoe, he'll be fine." Susan reassured him. "Nothing will happen to him, I'm sure!"
"Yeah Uncle Klonoe, Bekhin is super strong!" Autumn yelled at the adult.
Klonoe sighed, and shook his head.
"Do you not recall what got you in your current predicament, Autumn?" Klonoe said, scowling.
"Yes, it was that mean chicken..." Autumn began, but stopped as she began to understand Klonoe's point.
"I see you understand now." Klonoe replied, glaring at Susan. "Not only have you told my son what he can and cannot do, you have also needlessly put him at risk with the monsters of this forest."
"Erm...I see." Susan stated, sweating from embarrassment. "Sorry about that."
Klonoe just glared. James, sensing a fight, decided to butt in.
"Now, lets stop this guys." he stated, nervous that his wife would get hurt.
"Fine." Klonoe growled.
"Luckily, I have a way to fix this." James said, grinning.
"How?" Klonoe questioned, clearly confused.
"He went north, correct?" James inquired, his grin growing even larger.
"Yes, why do you ask?" Klonoe replied, pondering the question.
"To find him, all we must do is..." James replied, having broke into a smile like no other. "Go north!"
Klonoe glared at him.
"That's good logic, but seriously?" he stated, glaring at James.
"Seriously!" James assured him. "Let us be off!"
Klonoe groaned.
"Fine, I've done stranger." he thought to himself, sighing.
So, they set off north, looking for Bekhin. Unfortunately, no matter how much they looked, they could not seem to find him. The four were in low spirits and were about to give up, but then something happened.
"Hey, what's that!" Autumn yelled, pointing at a shape in the distance.
"Hm... that looks like a-a- house!" Klonoe shouted, excited.
"Yes, yes it does. Let's go!" James agreed.
As they ran to the house, Autumn looked around. For some weird reason, instead of seeing a person, she saw some sort of yellow horse with pink hair.
"Um, excuse me," Autumn said, waiting for everyone to come to a complete standstill. "Does anyone else see that small yellow horse?"
"Yes, I do Autumn." Klonoe replied.
"Huh, would you look at that!" James exclaimed. "A yellow horse, with wings, no less!"
"Yes, it's all very amazing." Susan said, yawning. "But where is it's rider?"
"I don't know, but I feel like I've seen this horse before." Autumn replied, scratching her head.
"Well, if there is horses here, then there must be people as well!" Klonoe exclaimed, however, he yelled a little too loud.
"Huh? What was that?" the horse said.
"A talking horse!?!" Klonoe exclaimed.
"Eeek! Please, go away!" the horse squealed.
"It's ok...we wont hurt you little horse!" Autumn cooed, getting it's attention.
"R-really?" it questioned, still frightened.
"Nope, unless Klonoe here gets upset." James replied, pointing at Klonoe.
"Hey!" Klonoe shouted at him. "I resent that!"
The horse giggled at the spectacle in front of it.
"I guess some introductions are in order." Susan stated, smiling.
"I-I guess." the horse said.
Soon, the humans had introduced themselves to the horse.
"So, who are you?" Autumn asked it.
"Um, I-I'm Fluttershy..." the horse replied.
"I feel like I've heard that name before..." Autumn thought to herself.
"Hey, Fluttershy!" a voice called out.
"That's Bekhin!" Klonoe thought, turning around.
There, on the doorstep, was Bekhin.
Klonoe gasped.
Chapter 3- Into the light
Klonoe gasped.
"Bekhin, what are you doing here!" Klonoe shouted at the child at the doorstep.
Bekhin scratched the back of his head nervously.
"Erm... I got lost..." he began.
"Yeah, that isn't very hard to realize..." James groaned.
"Didn't I tell you not to socialize with strangers, especially with those of an inferior species!" Klonoe scolded.
"Um, can I say something?" Fluttershy whispered.
"I didn't do anything wrong!" Bekhin groaned.
Klonoe shouted, busting with rage.
"Yes you did, you stupid little idiot!" Klonoe screamed.
"Um, can I butt in here and..." Fluttershy attempted again.
"Ugh!" Bekhin sighed. "You are such a jerk!"
"Me?" Klonoe shouted at the top of his lungs."It's you who has disobeyed everything your father and I have taught you!"
"You know, I hate-" Bekhin began, close to tears.
"Stooooooppppppp!" Fluttershy shouted. "Um, if that's ok with you..."
Klonoe glared at her, and started to growl.
"Eeep!" She screamed.
"Klonoe, let her have a chance." James reasoned.
"Fine." Klonoe groaned. "What is it weakling?"
"U-um, Bekhin came here because he was -um- lost." Fluttershy whispered. "I thought he needed help so..."
Klonoe gaped in confusion.
"You-you- did this for his safety?!?" Klonoe gasped.
"Um, yes." Fluttershy agreed, sighing.
"Looks like apologies are in order." Klonoe replied, scratching the back of his head.
"Mmhm." Susan said, grinning.
"Sorry about the misunderstanding miss." Klonoe apologized.
"Even though you are an inferior species." he muttered under his breath.
"So, um, would you like to go inside?" Fluttershy asked, gesturing at the door with her hoof.
"Sounds nice!" Susan exclaimed, walking inside, the others trailing after her.
As the 5 humans entered the cottage, Klonoe began to groan, but then he felt something hard against his head. He reached in his hair and pulled out a half-eaten carrot.
"Who or what did this!" He shouted accusingly.
He turned around and glared at all present. Then, he saw something in the corner of his eye. A little white bunny, sticking it's tongue out at him.
"Oh, so you think you're a wiseguy, eh rabbit?" Klonoe shouted, glaring at it. "When I'm done with you, not even the doc's will be able to stick your bones back together!"
The rabbit waved its hands in the air, as if to say, "Bring it on!"
"Oh, you're in for it now, you pathetic little-" Klonoe began to say.
"Angel, stop being so rude to out guests!" Fluttershy scolded.
"This -thing, is your pet?" Klonoe gaped, befuddled.
"Yes, yes it is." Fluttershy replied, smiling. "Although he is a bit naughty with guests, I still love him."
"So don't kill it." James whispered in Klonoe's ear, grinning.
"Kill it?" Klonoe answered James quietly, giving him an evil smile. "Who said I was gonna kill it?"
Fluttershy looked at Klonoe suspiciously, but shrugged the feeling off.
"Do we have any tea?" Klonoe asked Fluttershy, still keeping an eye on the insane rabbit.
"Yes, I do, I'll go get some." Fluttershy replied. "I'll be back soon."
"Hm." Klonoe stated, looking around. "Fine by me."
Once Fluttershy left the room, Klonoe shed one last glare at the "demon rabbit".
"This isn't over, you know." He told it, growling.
Angel grinned at him, nodding his head.
"Hm, that rabbit has spunk, I like that." Klonoe turned around and told the others.
"Grandpa, please stop thinking of ways of killing Fluttershy's pet." Bekhin groaned.
"What are you talking about, I'm completely over that now!" Klonoe replied indignantly.
Everyone looked at him suspiciously.
"What?" He asked incredulously.
"Nothing." They all stated loudly at once.
"Well..." Susan added, changing the subject. "Has anyone noticed how many animals this Fluttershy pony has as pets?"
"I know right?" Bekhin answered, shrugging. "I have no clue why, other than the fact she's way too in tune with nature."
"So, she's a hippy?" Klonoe questioned, grinning.
"Klonoe, isn't that a bit cruel?" Autumn replied, sighing.
"The tea is ready!" Fluttershy called, walking back into the living room.
"How about we stop this pointless gossip, and drink some tea." James stated, clapping his hands together.
The others agreed, and nodded their heads.
"So, what exactly are you?" Autumn asked Fluttershy, taking a sip of tea.
"You all honestly don't know?" Fluttershy gasped, confused.
"Not really." Autumn admitted.
"Well, I'm a pegasus." Fluttershy answered, grinning.
"That's...interesting..." James trailed off.
"Well, it's getting late, do you all have a place to sleep?" Fluttershy asked worryingly.
"No, but I think only the kids will need a place to sleep, we can sleep outside." James reasoned, sighing.
"Sounds good to me." Klonoe agreed, cracking a smile.
"Alright, the kids can sleep on the couch, if that's ok..." Fluttershy said, with a small smile.
"That's just fine." Susan replied, walking outside, soon followed by the others.
While everyone (and pony) were asleep, Klonoe stirred in his makeshift bed of leaves.
"This place is far too happy." He muttered. "Hopefully I can find a way to rid this place of it's pathetic excuse for a town and see what I can do with the land."
He grinned to himself.
"They'll never know what hit them, especially that demon rabbit." Klonoe yawned, drifting off to sleep.
"Hehe. I can just smell the cooked flesh..." he groaned, finally asleep.
