It knows everything from the darkest secret, to the strangest desire. It is as old as the princesses themselves, and can only be summoned by ritual. It holds knowledge of all, and many of the greatest ponies owe their power to it. But all information has a price, and what happens when somepony knows something it doesn't? After all, it just wants to know.
