The Story Begins.
It had been a long, warm, spring afternoon, and the four friends had been sitting around Nightfall's cabin, enjoying some refreshments, and relaxing under the shade. They were all at peace.
''Hmm... I really did try that vegetarian diet thing you guys have been making me use,
But Roasted pork kebabs are much better.'' Said Greytooth, while he was laying in a hammock, drinking from a bottle of scotch. It seemed so matter how much alchohol that gryphon drank, he never got drunk.
''If you say so.'' ''I just don't understand how you could eat meat, i mean, your're eating the dead body of an animal.''
Said Mystic Dawn.
''Well, it's because the flavor is is so rich, all that fine seasoning rubbed on that, nice juicy, tender piece of steak slathered in BBQ sauce, fresh off the grill, and if you must know, steak is better when it's medium rare.''. Said Greytooth with a smug grin.
''That's just nasty!'' said Mystic, with a look of disgust.
''Well it's no different with vegetables and plants.'' ''Just because they don't have a mouth and can't run dosn't mean they aren't living, sentient beings.'' ''Why, i bet every time you eat corn, you eat a defenseless poor creature.'' ''Atleast i eat fruit.'' Said Greytooth, smiling.
''Just leave him alone Greytooth, you know he isn't gonna stop being an anytime soon.'' Said Nightfall, jokingly.
Only two of the four friends laughed.
For most of the time they were there, Lily Blossom had been reading a book on ancient treasures.
She had just read something about a treasure called the Platinum Wheat, so she announced it to her friends.
''Hey guys!'' ''I just read about something called the Platinum Wheat, and according to the book, who ever takes a bite of it, gets fortune and fame!'' ''Even tons of gold!'' Said Lily excitedly.
She then showed them the page of the book. Nightfall had to put on his reading glasses.
The Platinum Wheat
Back during the time when ponies had first discovered Equestria, They had also discovered a a great treasure.
It was called the Platinum Wheat. The Platinum Wheat gives anything that touches it gains great fame and power.
It has done a good thing such as saving the universe from being destroyed by itself when something thought of utter destruction. Researchers believe that a demon of tarturus did it.
They said his name was Nightheart Solaris.
Nightfall hoped that the others didn't know that Nightheart was his father.
But it has also been used by the corrupt to kill many great rulers and innocent ponies, Including
Mstarka Tlhoofin Kanaggra, The creator of the the Platinum Wheat.
''We should totally go try and go get it.''
''I bet we could never find it though, i mean if it's in this book, something probably already got it.'' Said Nightfall.
''Fuck that Nightfall, we should totally try and find that thing.'' Said Mystic, since he always liked to disagree with Nightfall.
''He's probably right.'' Lily said sadly. ''But screw that, let me show you guys this awesome new spell i learned from the book!'' Said Lily with excitement, even though she didn't know what the spell she learned really did. She never did.
After a blinding flash, they could all feel something different under their feet, and it obviously wasn't the fine wood floor of the deck on Nightfall's cabin.
It was sand.
Fine sand.
Everywhere.
''AGHHH!'' ''MOTHER OF NIGHTHEART!'' ''WHERE IS MY HOUSE?!'' Nightfall shouted angrily.
He then started digging in the sand around him, swearing under his breath.
''Lily Blossom, what spell did you use?'' Asked Mystic questioningly.
''I don't know.'' ''It was called Missa Ianuae Magicae or something.'' Said Lily, looking around.
Lily still had her book with her.
She flipped a couple pages and read aloud that Missa Ianuae Magicae meant Mass Teleport.
Mystic immediately picked up the nearest rock and started slamming his head into it.
Greytooth had just been sitting there watching them. He finally said something.
''Do you guys not understand?'' ''What Lily did isn't what should be concerning us right now.''
''We are obviously in the desert.'' '' We're going to need a way to survive in this harsh enviroment and all this heat.''
''We're going to need food and water.'' ''And some shade of course.'' Said Greytooth with a grim look on his face.
The others stopped what they were doing and looked at Greytooth. Greytooth was not the type of person they thought would say that. Greytooth was always fooling around and usually never serious.
Nightfall turned around and looked at the gryphon.
''You're right.'' ''If we are going to survive out here we need to get up off our asses and do something.'' Nightfall agreed.
The others nodded their heads.
''I think i know what we need first.'' ''We need heat.'' ''We need fuoco.''
''We need fire. ''
It had been hours. None of the members of the group had seen a single palm tree or anything.
They didn't find anything to use for hats either. Lily was the only one who had a had since she had a book with her.
They were all miserable. They couldn't find any water either.
Mystic had drank some water form a cactus.
He decided not to drink it anymore, because he started hallucinating.
So did the rest of the group.
They were so tired.
They all felt dead. Hollow.
But to their surprise, they found a box full of supplies, buried under some sand. They all went up to it.
It wasn't a mirage. They opened it.
It was full of of water. And food. And some bedrolls, and Lighter fluid. The bad thing was that there was nothing to burn, but none of them seemed to care. Lily noticed something on the box. It said Survival Rations Kit on it, ans he noted what year it said it was on the box. It said 2017 on it.
She would would mention something about that to her friends later.
This box was truly the Oasis they had been looking for.
