Carrot Top asked standing near the door to her room, It was allready late night on Ponyville and Derpy for some reason was still up, she was focused, watching the window with a worried look on her face and althought Carrot Top was extremelly tired she managed to notice that something wasn't right with her friend. "Hey is something wrong?" Carrot asked. "A few minutes ago when I was delivering my final package I noticed a big comotion in the Hospital area, I tried to go see what was going on but they didn't let me in, they said that there was a very dangerous infection and the hospital had to be put under quarantine...whatever that is..." Derpy responded without taking her eyes out of the window. "And? what's the worry? the hospital Is all the way out there and if they have it under quarantine nothing will be able to get out, everything is going to be ok, so just relax and go to bed." Carrot Top said with a calm and relaxed voice, Derpy and Her had been best friends for a while and Derpy saw her as a sort of big sister figure so obviously this put derpy in a more  relaxed state of mind." You're right, what i'm I so worried about?" Derpy chuckled, glancing to her best friend, Carrot Top smil ed "So, are you going to hit the hay or what?" Derpy looked out of the window again. "In a bit, It's a nice night... i'll just stay here and look at the stars for a bit more." Carrot Top entered her room. "Ok, good night."she said before closing the door. As Derpy watched the stars as the night got deeper, she felt a growing peace within her, she was a simple Mare, but one that had everything she desired and this thought made her...happy, watching those blessings from Luna in the sky we're a sort of meditation for her, the sillence of the night somehow made it more beautiful and like that, she was left wandering her thoughts, until a sudden noise of sirens broke the trance and snapped Derpy back to reallity, the sound seemed to be coming from far away, or more specificly, from the hospital area, Derpy was deeply confused and was trying to process what happened until a violent explosion took place in the same place as where the sirens were , Carrot Top left the room in a hurry "What the in the hay was that?" Derpy was starting to panic, she struggled to speak and her legs we're starting to shake."I don't know, it came from the hospital." Carrot Top also started to panic "I think we better not stay her to watch, go get Ditzy so we can leave!" the mare said , her mind racing and her legs shaking too, both of them rushed to Ditzy's room to find an empty bed "Where... Where is she?!" Derpy lost it, Ditzy would normally wonder out at night to roam the late night ponyville as it was much more peaceful , but in a situation like this, it was a sort of tragedy, "We got to find her quickly!"  the two ponies rushed through the front door and started franticly searching for the missing filly, but no trace of her was found "Do you think she wen't to see what happened at the hospital?" Carrot Pointed out , Derpy froze and time was cut even shorter as guards came dashing through "We need to get there quickly, come on, let's go!" Carrot Top grabbed Derpy's hoove and ran to the hospital, as they started getting near, hell was starting to break loose, hordes of ponies running for their lives we're blocking the streets and many buildings we're on fire "Oh dear celestia!" Derpy was in pure shockl , they kept running until they came to a stopping point we're guards we're barracading the street, they tried to pass  but they we're stopped by the guards "You need to let us through!  There's a filly probably there and we need to go get her!" Carrot tried to reason "Not a chance, there's been a breach on the quarantine and nobody is allowed to get past this point!" The Guard said with a stern look on his face. "But... but..." Derpy was in the verge of tears until she was grabbed by Carrot Top once more and they dashed around the checkpoint trying to find a way in "There's no arguing we need to find a way in!"  They came to a stop on a burning building "We can get there by going through the building!" Carrot Top said "Are you crazy?" Derpy asked but she was pulled in "If we are going to find her we need to get past the checkpoint!" they ran through the building and got out safelly on the other side, they looked franticly but all they could see was chaos, that is, until Ditzy was heard screaming from far away, they got there as quickly as possible and the sight was not pretty, she was being brutally torn apart by a rabid pony, Derpy was in shock, The crazy Pony turned and looked at derpy before trying to attack her, Carrot Top protect her by kicked him in the head and tried to leave with Derpy, but Derpy was hesitant "Come on! Hurry up!" Carrot Top tried carrying her away but she wouldn't budge "I'm not leaving her!" Derpy started crying "Carrot Top viollently shook Derpy and looked into her eyes "Listen what ever happens i'm not going to leave you behind! now I know it must be hard but we have to go quickly!" They ran back to the building. When they got in the building, the flames started burining with more intensity, the house let out a furious roar, it was eminent that it was going to start falling appart, the two friends dashed throught the inferno and when they we're near the exit tragedy struck again, a burning pillar fell on top of Carrot Top "Carrot Top!" Derpy started trying to pull out out her friend, unfortunatly, to no avail. "Listen Derpy I know I just said I wouldn't leave you, but it was to ensure your safetty, and trust me when I say you're not safe her, you have to leave now!" Derpy wouldn't stop "Don't you think i'm leaving you behind!" Carrot used the remaining strenght she had to push Derpy away "You are, I will never forgive myself if something happens to you,so listen to me, you get out of her and take care of yourself and remenber, in a way I will allways be with you, helping you, so with that said , do me a favor and live on." Carrot Top smiled, tears fell like a waterfall from Derpy's face "I.. I will never forget you!" The poor ditzy mare ran towards the exit leaving her friend behind on the crumpling building, and thus, Derpy was now alone on a world that would start to fall apart.
