Adventures of a Fisherponyby OverClockChaptersChapter 1Chapter 2Chapter 3Chapter 4Chapter 5Chapter 6Chapter 7Chapter 8Chapter 1Little Authors note~ I decided to get back into the writing scene after I got burnt out and ran out of ideas for my, admittedly, terrible human in equestria Slenderman Fanfiction, so after deleting it and doing some pony roleplaying on secondlife….I found myself struck upside the head with a simple yet brilliant idea for a new character. After designing his general appearance and planning out his talent and personality, many of the other roleplayers were amused and rather amazed with this new character….so while roleplaying I found myself also creating a backstory for him to help along with it….So why keep that story just for roleplay? As a fluke I decided to start writing about this character and let you guys tell me what you think about this, if the ideas keep flowing, and people are willing to read I am willing to write. So without further delay, let’s get started here is the story of the backwoods fisherpony, Cod Piece. This story features Anthropomorphic Ponies with hands, fingers but hooves for feet! Why? Because why not? The faint sound of hooves on stone could be heard as Celestia’s sun slowly crept over the horizon to greet the new summer day. As the faint clopping of hooves grew louder, so did the faint sound of somepony whistling an upbeat tune, as they walked briskly with a fishing pole in one hand, letting it rest upon their right shoulder, an old and well traveled looking backpack slung over their back, and an empty wooden bucket, that carried the unmistakable scent of fish, in their left hand. This equipment was all being carried by a tall, and slim tan brown stallion with an overgrown dark brown mane that grew down past his shoulders in an unkempt manner, and a long bushy tail that was tied at the end to keep it all together in a bushy poof of hair. He was clothed in a pair of simple, and very worn blue jeans, with rips and tears all over the legs showing they had endured a lot of abuse over the years, and a dark red t-shirt. As he reached the top of a hill the path lead up he clearly saw a town in the distance, the one his father had called Ponyville, with rivers, ponds and lakes teeming with more fish than the griffon kingdom could eat themselves. “That must be it, hope Pa wasn’t lyin’ about this place!” he declared with a backwoods drawl very apparent in his voice. With that he headed down the path as the town was beginning to wake up and start the day. It was a busy day in the Ponyville market as an orange coated mare with a long blonde mane and tail, both tied into a ponytail with an old brown Stetson resting on top of her head, wearing a pair of blue work jeans and an orange checkered shirt tied in a knot, was manning her family’s apple stand, she smiled and waved as her latest customer walked off after paying for their apples. “Ya’ll come back now!” she shouted after them with a smile. She enjoyed seeing the smiles on her customer’s faces when she sold them her apples, as she turned her gaze to face forward she saw a brown stallion who looked quite lost and must have been traveling given the backpack and other things he was carrying. He had started to talk to her good friend, a pink mare with a poofy tail and mane like cotton candy, wearing a bright yellow shirt and a blue skirt with three balloons on it, who had just gasped and darted off in a random direction, leaving the stallion standing there looking rather confused. She shrugged it off and let her mind wander a bit. Ah wonder who that stallion is, no doubt Pinkie is gonna try throwin’ him a party. Ah well, no need to wonder about somethin’ that’s not my business. As she went back to manning her stand she couldn’t help but notice that stallion bumping into a buff white pegasus with tiny wings, a blonde buzz cute mane, dressed in a white muscle shirt and black gym shorts, causing him to spill water he was drinking all over himself, causing him to turn and glare fiercly at the much smaller stallion. With an inward sigh the orange mare put a sign on her stand that said ‘Back in 5 minutes’, obviously feeling she should help the poor guy out. Guess I gotta make it my business now, or else this guys never gonna walk right again. “Watch where you’re going you puny little piss ant!” the stallion shouted angrily at the poor fisherman who was already flat on his rump with his fishing pole and bucket laying on the ground next to him. “I already said I was sorry! Water ain’t gonna stain yer shirt or nothin’ anyhow, I mean we do wash clothes with water don’t we?” he replied in a matter of fact tone, which the other seemed to take offense to. “Are you calling me an idiot you little shit?! Do you know who you’re talking to?!” he shouted as he grabbed the other stallion by his shirt and lifted him off the ground, his hooves dangling a few inches off the ground, but he showed no fear and just stared right back at the stallion. “Well of course I don’t! I just got to this town today. Shoo I think I would remember a big fella like you ifin’ I ever met ya.” He was not amused with the answer he received as he balled his hand up into a fist and cocked his arm back, ready to deliver a punch to the fisherman’s face, audible gasps heard from onlookers who could only watch, none of them brave enough to stand up to the buff pony. Just as he was about to send his arm forwards he felt as though it was being held back, by a small but strong hand, he turned to look and see a very unamused farmer. The look she was giving him sent a shiver down his spine. “Snowflake, what in the hay are you doin’? It was obviously an accident, ain’t nothin’ to hurt somepony over!” “Oh….S-sorry Miss Applejack….but ya see he-” “But nothin’! Now you set him down right now, or do we need a repeat of last time you lost your head from somepony bumpin’ into ya?” At that Snowflake immediately dropped the stallion and apologized multiple times to Applejack before walking briskly away, obviously afraid of the wrath of the orange mare. After he was out of sight Applejack let out a sigh and turned to face the fisherman with a friendly smile. “That there was Snowflake, don’t pay him any mind though, all that muscles really gone to his head ya know? You alright though sugarcube?” The stallion brushed his beat up jeans off before facing the mare and giving a dismissive wave and a smile. “Don’t worry about me Miss, I’ve had a lot worse happen to me back in my home town, like this one time during the flu season when I was just a little colt my Pa told me that every time somepony sneezes it destroys a tiny universe in another dimension an’ I started to freak out on everypony that was sneezin’ tellin’ them what my Pa told me an’ then they called the ponies from the mental hospital to come take me to their funny farm, good thing Pa was there to clear things up though…..anyways I’m gettin’ off track here. I’m Cod Piece! It’s a pleasure to meet you Ma’am!” he said as he held out his hand to the mare. Applejack scratched her head as she tried to catch up with the stallion’s story about sneezing and a prank from his father and just opted to shake his hand since he had extended it to her. “Ah’m Applejack, I own and run Sweet Apple Acres with my Granny and Brother. What brings ya to town anyways?” she asked as she released Cod’s hand. “Jeez that was a handshake an’ a half!....Huh? OH! My pa told me that this town was in the areas fer great rivers, ponds, and lakes fer fishin’! I think he said it’s due to lack of predators or somethin’ like that. Know somepony who knows where I can find such a place to fish?” Applejack scratched the back of her head as she pondered who would most likely have information on fish and where to find them best. Hmmmmm Ah know for sure Rarity would have no idea…..Rainbow is out of the question too…..Fluttershy might know, does she take care of fish? Pinkie…..well she already confused this poor fella to no end within his first few minutes of bein’ here……Maybe Twilight has a book about it. Applejack smiled and pointed in the direction of a large oak tree that had seemed to be converted into a building. “Try the library, my friend Twilight might have a book or something’ about fishin’ ponds Ponyville .” Cod followed her finger and smiled picking up his bucket and fishing pole, heading in the direction quickly. Only stopping and turning to wave back at Applejack who smiled and waved back to him. “Well he sure is interestin’…..hope he sticks around a bit….could use somethin’ new around here.” She said as she walked back to her stand. Chapter 2In the Golden Oaks Library a purple alicorn mare was hard at work as she walked back and forth organizing her books on the shelves. The mare had a straight dark purple mane with a single pink streak that went through it, her tail in a similar straight and plain style that was perfectly identical to her mane and she wore a purple, short sleeved button-up shirt, along with a pair of black dress pants. She hummed to herself as she kept sorting the books on the shelves, only to have her train of thought interrupted by a knock on the door. “Spike can you get the door please? I have to reshelve these books!” she shouted to catch the attention of her young assistant. “Just a minute Twi!” A young purple dragon with green spikes and frills. who couldn’t be more than four and a half feet tall walked into the room, he was dressed in a pair of green shorts and a purple t-shirt with a green flame on the front of it. He walked to the entrance of the library and opened it to greet the visitor, looking up at the tall brown stallion and offering a friendly greeting. “Good morning! Is there something we can help you with?” he smiled looking up at the fisherman who looked around for the voice until looking straight down at the young dragon. After a brief pause of silence the fisherpony dropped his fishing pole and bucket as his jaw dropped, staring in wonder at the young whelp. “WHOA! A REAL LIVE DRAGON! This is so cool!” he kneeled down to look the young dragon right in the eye and started looking him all over in wonder and chuckled as he stood up and picked the young dragon up. “I’ve never seen a dragon before! Only heard about them in stories and seen pictures of them……ya know they make your kind to be a lot bigger in stories?.....” Cod rambled on as he held the boy up, who’s face had a very unamused frown on it. “Hey buddy mind putting me down?.....Don’t really like being held by strange stallions.” Spike said as the stallion set him down. “Oh….hehe sorry about that…..so do you run this library by your self little guy?......I was told somepony named Twilight lived here….and Twilight doesn’t sound like a dragon’s name…..or a boy’s name…..You are a boy dragon ain’t ya?” Cod asked scratching the back of his head. “Spike who’s at the door?” Twilight chimed in as she walked to the door and saw the young dragon looking uncomfortable as the stallion ogled at him like he was the most interesting thing in the entire world. “Uhm I think this weirdo is looking for you Twi, I’ll leave him in your hands.” He gave Cod another cautious glance before walking in the direction of the kitchen. “Whoooo! Pa was right about dragons havin’ quite an attitude! Fiesty little fella!” Cod laughed as he slapped his knee watching the young dragon walk off. “Well he hasn’t had his nap yet and tends to get grumpy….Anyways I’m Twilight Sparkle, you were asking for me?” she asked giving the stallion a quick once over with her gaze, as if to size him up. Cod looked at her and scratched his head as if the thought had entirely escaped him before he snapped his fingers and a smile dawned upon his face. “Oh right! I’m a travelin’ fisherman an’ Pa told me that the rivers and lakes here were perfect fer fishin’! But I’m a bit lost an’ some mare named Applejack sent me here thinkin’ you might know where I can find the lakes I’m lookin’ fer. Ya wouldn’t happen to know where I could find a lake where I could catch some bass would ya?” he explained to her, and in the blink of an eye she was already at one of her book shelves pulling out a book on Equestrian lakes in the area of Ponyville. “This book should help you. If you want you can stay for a while and rea-” “Done!” he said as he handed the book back to her with a smile, leaving Twilight standing there dumbfoundedat how quickly he had found what he needed in the book. “I’m sorry?” she asked with a confused tone “I found what I needed, yer book said I can find a river that runs through some place called the Everfree into Ponyville fer trout, a lake just on the outskirts of Sweet Apple Acres fer catfish an’ bass, an’ a pond near the park fer hybrid striped bass. Well it was nice meetin’ ya an’ all but I got some fishin’ to get to.” Cod smiled and grabbed his fishing pole and bucket and went off on his merry way, leaving a shocked alicorn behind. H-he….he found all that in just a few seconds of skimming through the book? It took me at least half an hour to find that out on my own…..I better keep an eye on this one. Cod whistled to himself as he walked through the town and stopped as he saw the tell tale sparkle of a bit on the ground, smiling and bending over to grab it. “Well I guess this is my lucky day!” just as he grabbed onto the bit he felt a foreign prodding at his backside causing him to fall over onto his face, a loud ripping being heard from his jeans. “Oh my are you alright?!” the sound of a eloquent and feminine voice reached his ears as he sat up and rubbed his snout, looking up to see a white unicorn mare with an elegantly curled purple mane and tail, wearing a white dress shirt that wrapped tightly around a generous bust and a knee length black pencil skirt that made her look somewhat like the hot teacher all the colts wanted to get with in high school. “Uh….yeah I’ll be fine, had worse falls and tumbles in my day.” Cod replied as he stood up and brushed his jeans off, taking note of the near rip at the knee. “Oh my, your jeans! They must have torn when you fell over darling! Come now you simply MUST let me mend them.” She said grabbing a hold of the stallion’s hand and dragged him off in the direction of her boutique. “N-no really Miss, no trouble at all they have more rips an’ tears in em’ anyhow so what’s it mat-” “I will not take no for an answer darling, think of it as my way of apologizing for knocking you over.” She cut in before he could finish speaking. Perhaps I can do something about that mane and tail as well….ugh so dreadfully unkempt! The bell to the front door of Carousel Boutique rang as it swung open and the fashionista pushed the young stallion inside. “Come now dear no time to waste I simply must repair these pants for you, now go behind the curtain over there and take them off.” She instructed pushing him behind the curtain and standing just outside. “Uhm you really don’t have to do this, there are more rips and tears than possible to fix in these old jeans, I’ve had em’ fer years.” Cod replied from behind the curtain. “Oh how bad could they be?” she replied as she heard the sound of a zipper and then saw the jeans being held out to her, upon closer inspection she shuddered at how many holes and tears were actually in the jeans. “Oh…..perhaps you are right dear…..we will have to just make you a brand new pair from scratch, now come on out so I can get your measurements dear….uhm what was your name by the way?” “Oh, ya can just call me Cod Piece, and….is it really necessary we do the measurements while I’m in my boxers? Little embarassin’ wouldn’t ya say?” Cod asked from behind the curtain. Causing the mare to roll her eyes and reach behind the curtain and grabbing the stallion’s hand to drag him out. “Oh come now, the more time you waste standing around the longer it’ll take for em to get your new pants made. And you may call me Rarity dear.” She said as her horn glowed, levitating a measuring tape over to her hands which she then started measuring the stallions waist and legs. “Well I really appreciate this Miss Rarity, but ah don’t think I’ll have the bits to pay fer a brand new custom made pair of jeans, only brought enough bits to keep me fed fer a while while on this trip.” He scratched the back of his head sheepishly as she continued to take his measurements. “Don’t you worry about it darling, this is free of charge, it is simply a way to show I am sorry for not paying attention to where I was walking, your snout must hurt from hitting it on the ground afterall. I must ask though, what exactly are you traveling for?” “I’m a fisherman, Pa told me bout this town bein’ near some great areas fer fishin’ an’ I just had to make the trip here.” Cod replied in a matter of fact tone, trying to ignore how close Rarity’s hand was to his crotch as she measured his inseam/ “Oh….well I can’t stand anything like fish or anything…dirty... but I suppose if it’s what you enjoy.” She said as she stood up and set the measuring tape aside after writing the last of his measurements down on a notepad. “Now you wait here while I go make your new pants.” She said as she walked off into the other room, leaving a half dressed Cod Piece standing around. “Am I ever gonna get to fish today?” he asked nobody in particular. After about twenty minutes of just standing around in his boxers Rarity entered the room carrying a brand new pair of jeans in her hands, which she handed to Cod with a smile. “Try these on darling, I am sure you will not be displeased.” She said as she watched waiting for him to put on the new denim trousers. Cod shrugged and stuck his legs into the jeans and pulled them up, zipping the fly and fastening the button, giving a few experimental leg lifts and a couple steps around, gaining a satisfied smile. “Well I’ll be damned, these are just as comfortable as my old jeans! Maybe even a bit more. I can’t thank you enough Miss Rarity.” He smiled as he grabbed her hand firmly in his and gave it a hearty shake, causing her to slightly blush from the sudden contact but shake his hand back. “Oh think nothing of it darling, just try not to let these ones get ripped and torn up so much or I might take offense.” she teased as he released her hand and started to gather his things. “Well I hate to just run on ya ma’am but I gotta get goin’ if I want to get some fishin’ in by sundown. I’ll make sure to tell everpony I know about ya if they need some new clothes.” He said as he exited the boutique giving Rarity a final wave before shutting the door behind him. Rarity chuckled and shook her head watching him leave. As she let her thoughts wander a bit. Well he isn’t so bad for being a backwoods stallion, still wish I could have done something about his mane though, ugh I thought I could see rats scurrying around in there… Chapter 3Cod Piece Walked along the path from the boutique that led in the direction of the park, hoping to get some fishing in before it got dark. It was already well into the afternoon with the time he wasted in the market with Applejack saving his ass, looking for information on lakes and rivers in the library, and having a brand new pair of jeans made from scratch for him by Miss Rarity. “Ok, no more interruptions, I have to get to that park before the sun sets or else my time fer fishin’ will all be gone fer today!” he said to himself as he diligently walked along the path, passing right by a building that was the shape of an oversized gingerbread house. In a big blur of pink Cod felt himself being dragged backwards, and into a building and landing flat on his rump in the middle of the floor. “Ooof! What in the hay?!” Cod was barely able to get out the last word as a cupcake was thrust into his mouth, effectively silencing him. As he looked up he saw the pink mare from earlier standing there with a goofy grin on her face as she bounced on her hooves. “HI! My name is Pinkie Pie! You must be new in town because I’ve never seen you before and I know everypony here except for you but that’s because you’re new here and I just met you! What’s your name?! Where are you from?! Why do you smell like fish?! And are those jeans one of Rarity’s designs?” Of everything the fisherman just heard he only made out a few things and decided to answer what he heard after chewing and swallowing the sweet and delicious pastry that was shoved into his mouth. “Uhm my name is Cod Piece, I smell like fish cuz I’m a fisherman, and….yes?” he sat there slightly confused at this bubbly pink mare’s enthusiasm for meeting some smelly fisherman. Not wanting to waste any more time Cod was about to excuse himself, only to feel something wet and slimy gnawing at his arm, upon closer inspection he saw a small alligator with its jaws firmly wrapped around his wrist. “Gummy! We don’t chew on ponies without their permission!....Silly alligator.” Pinkie giggled as she grabbed the alligator and pulled him off his arm, leaving it covered in drool. “Uhm…..right, listen I don’t mean to sound rude but I really have to get goin’ to the park….or else I won’t be able to go fishin’ today.” As Cod spoke the party prone mare seemed to grow slightly more sad, giving him a sad puppy dog pout, complete with quivering lip. “B-But….I wanted to throw you a party….” She whimpered as she turned and began to slowly walk away. Never wanting to be one to enjoy making a mare sad Cod sighed and stood up. “Well….I suppose I could stay a little while an’-” “GREAT!” Pinkie cut him off as she grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to the center on the shop, as she ran over to what appeared to be a standard box to hold a fire extinguisher, but with a lever that said ‘In Case of Party Emergeny Please Pull Lever’. As she pulled the lever lights started flashing, tables flipped over revealing identical tables, only decorated for partying, balloons fell from the ceiling, and refreshments appeared as a long table sank into the floor and soon rose back up. Rather distracted by the sudden change of the room Cod failed to notice tons of ponies making their way into the small bakery. “Ain’t no party like a Pinkie Pie party!” Pinkie shouted over a microphone she somehow came into possession of, as a Dj started to unleash the loud dubstep. “….Well there’s always night fishin’…..Cod said as he let himself unwind and get into the party. As the party reached its peak Cod was leaning back against a wall catching his breath from dancing with strangers, Pinkie Pie skipped up to him with a grin on her face. “Having fun Cod?” she asked in her bubbly happy voice. “Well it ain’t a hoedown like in my hometown but it’s fun alright....But if I still want time to go fishin’ I better get goin’ here pretty soon, it’s getting’ around to bein’ 3 o’clock.” Pinkie just smiled and nodded at him as she gave him a bone crunching hug. “Awwwww, come on back if you ever want cupcakes! We can make them together sometimes! OOOOO maybe we could make them with fish in them! But maybe they would taste icky then!” Pinkie rambled for a good thirty seconds before releasing Cod so he could catch his breath and exit the building, giving Pinkie a cheerful wave goodbye. I really like him! Even if he is a bit smelly. OOO! Maybe he could take a bath with Gummy sometime! Gummy smells a lot like fish too! Pinkie let her mind wander to places only she knew as she shut the door to the bakery and got back to the impromptu party she was hosting. Cod was yet again on the path towards the park as the sun started to make its slow descent towards the horizon, causing him to groan and pick up his pace. “Man I shoulda just left that party before it started!.....But I can’t make a mare cry like that….Celestia knows what Pa woulda done if he knew I pulled somethin’ like that.” Cod shuddered visibly as he recalled the last time he upset his father by disregarding what he had been told. It was a quiet evening in Cod Piece’s childhood home as a young Cod Piece snuck into the dark house, trying to be as quiet as he possibly could, creeping through the living room with his fishing pole and other equipment, setting them down and heading towards the stairs to his room, only to be caught off guard by the lights coming on in the living room, revealing a displeased looking stallion in an armchair. The stallion had the exact same tan brown coat Cod had but a sandy blonde short-cut mane, wearing a checkered flannel shirt and overall jeans with the bibs undone, letting them dangle around his waist. “O-oh……hey there Pa.” Cod choked out as his father silently stood up and walked past the young colt, walking over to inspect the fishing gear his son had set down. He grabbed the fishing pole and inspected the lure before removing it from the line and walking over to his son. “Son…..can ya tell me what this is?” he said as he held up a bright golden lure that resembled a small bait fish. “Uhm…..it’s yer prized golden minnow lure Pa.” Cod stood there wringing his hands together nervously. With a nod his father stood up and walked over setting the lure on a nearby table before walking back over to his son and kneeling down to be at eye level with the young colt. “That’s right boy…..an’ what did I tell ya to never do with that lure?” he asked, his voice calm yet unnerving. “Y-you…t-told me to….never ever use it…w-without yer permission….” He whimpered in response. “Right….but you went ahead and did just that…..what made you think that was a good idea?” he leaned in closer to him but received no answer in response. Cod’s father stood up and in a swift motion backhanded the young colt right across the face, sending him stumbling backwards into a display cabinet, causing the glass to shatter as his head made contact. “This is what you get when you don’t listen to me boy! Yer Ma an’ I brought you into this world an’ raised you under our roof, an’ this is how ya repay us?! Sneakin’ around an’ stealin’ yer father’s lures?!.....Clean this mess up and get to bed now.” He said trotting up the stairs as he left the whimpering young colt to clean up the broken glass, blood running down the left side of his face from a cut on the top of his head. Cod shook his head to rid himself of the memory for the time being as he saw the park come into view. With renewed vigor he quickened his pace as the pond started to come into view. Filled with excitement of finally being able to fish before the day ended Cod broke into a full sprint towards the pond, neglecting to see a yellow mare kneeling in his path as she tended to some baby ducks until the very last second, causing him to try skidding to a halt but found himself sliding ever closer to the mare before he slammed into her, knocking them both over and causing them to tumble a few times before coming to a halt. Cod groaned as he tried to sit up but stopped as his face was met with something soft and pillowy pressing against his snout and a surprised feminine yelp reached his ears. Quirking a brow Cod tried to get a better look at his surroundings but was only met with a green material taking up all of his vision. His vision grew clearer as whoever was on top of him began sitting up, revealing the yellow mare he had run into……and what his snout had just run into. Cod was Blushing furiously as he realized he pretty much just stuck his face into some mare’s bust without even so much as a ‘Howdy do there!’. Thankfully she didn’t seem to notice as she was sitting herself up and Cod was able to get a good look at her. She had a long pink mane, flowing over her shoulders like a waterfall. She was wearing a soft green sweater that seemed to hug every curve of her body, making her large bust all the more apparent. Her sweater stopped at her waist where a long flowing yellow skirt that reached her ankles could plainly be seen. She sat there rubbing her head for a moment before looking down and seeing she was sitting on top of a stallion, causing her to yelp and shoot to her feet, muttering apologies and trying to pull him to his feet. “Oh I-I’m sorry sir. I-I shouldn’t h-have been standing in the way there…y-you were obviously in a hurry and…oh I’m just so stupid!” Cod brushed himself off for what seemed like the hundredth time today and quirked his brow as the mare kept apologizing that was obviously not her fault, so he decided to stop her from taking the blame. “Whoa now hold on there Miss, I’m the one who wasn’t really payin’ any attention there. Are ya alright? I plowed into ya pretty hard there.” Cod mentally slapped himself from his suggestive way of explaining their collision. The mare nodded her head as she tried to hide her face behind her mane. Cod smiled and reached his hand out to her. “Well that’s all that matters….my name is Cod Piece by the way.” She looked at his hand cautiously before reaching her own out and giving it a light squeeze and a shake. “Uhm…I’m Fluttershy…..” she said as she let go of his hand and rung her hands together nervously. “Well uhm….nice meetin’ ya I guess?” he said as he picked up his fishing pole and headed towards the pond, spotting an empty bench right at the waters edge where he sat his backpack, and bucket next to and got to setting his pole up for fishing. As he opened his bag and pulled out a small sealed container, that even when sealed emitted a foul odor, he failed to notice the mare inching herself closer to peek over his shoulder as what he was doing. “Uhm….what are you doing?” she asked in a soft almost inaudible voice. Flicking his ear Cod turned to face her, causing her to jump back a bit from the sudden movement. “Well I’m baiting my hook to catch me some fish Miss Fluttershy.” He said as he pulled out some sinkers and fishing weights, which he bit to open to be put around the line, pinching them closed just above the hook. “Oh….ok….” she stood there and watched silently as Cod opened the jar of mystery bait, letting out a blast of the stench out and into the air around anypony unfortunate to be so close. Fluttershy cupped her hands over her snout to keep the foul aroma from offending her sense of smell and possibly her lunch. While she kept her hands over her nose Cod just brought the jar up to his nose and took and deep breath from it, causing him to cough and retch a bit before he shook his head to clear his sense and nodded. “Perfect! Been festerin’ and creatin’ a smell fer about a week now.” He said satisfied with the stench as he reached two fingers into the jar to pull out a yellow paste like substance, which he squeezed around the hook into a ball. “I-it’s supposed to smell that bad?” Fluttershy asked through her hands from about a good three feet away from the bench Cod was sitting on. Cod simply nodded his head as he stood up and took a quick look over the pond before taking his pole into his hand and over his shoulder, letting the line with the bait dangle behind him for a few seconds before giving a swift powerful swing of the pole, catapulting the baited hook straight to the center of the pond where it entered with an audible *PLOP*. Once the foul odor had cleared up Fluttershy moved closer to the stallion once more. “Do the fish get hurt when they bite into the hook?” She asked, only to be met with Cod shushing her and turning his head back to watch the water. “Oh uhm….sorry….” she said as she sat at the far end of the bench, twiddling her thumbs as a nearby sparrow chirped from a tree branch. The silence was deafening, she wanted to ask Cod if the poor fish in the pond would be alright, after all, she did often come to take care of them. Just as she was about to open her mouth to ask another question she heard a splash and the sound of Cod scrambling to his feet, giving the pole a yank as it bent from the resistance only a fish could cause. “WHOOO! Got one already!” Cod shouted in delight as he started to pull and reel the fish in, Fluttershy bit her finger as she watched pole bend and jerk and the line going everywhere to get away from the fisherman dragging it in from the water. “OH dear..p-please be careful…d-don’t hurt the poor dear….” She said watching on as the fisherman kept reeling in his line. Her plees would fall on deaf ears though as Cod was currently in his own little world that included just him, and the fish on the end of his line. “He’s a fighter that’s fer sure!” he said as he gave another yank on his pole sending a large trout out of the water and straight towards him, in that moment time seemed to slow down as Cod and Fluttershy watched the fish soar through the air with the hook in its mouth. The fish reached the peak of is parabolic arch and started to make it’s descent straight for Cod, the trout flailed its tail around in mid air causing it to turn and slam it’s body into the side of the fisherman’s face, knocking him flat on his back with the trout laying on his chest flopping around. “Oh my goodness are you ok?!” Fluttershy rushed over to the fallen fisherpony and kneeled next to him. “Y-yeah I’m fine this one had more fight in him than I thoug-” “You poor poor baby!” Fluttershy said as she leaned down and grabbed….the trout?.... Cod sat there a bit dumbfounded as the mare held the trout in her arms like it was a baby, pulling the hook out of its mouth and walking back over to the water. “It’s ok, Mama won’t let the big mean fisherman hurt you anymore.” She said as she pat the fish and put it into the water where it promptly swam away. “Uhm….I….wha-……nevermind.” Cod said as he stood up, and rubbed his now red cheek from where the fish ran into him “You should really be more careful when fishing…..you could really hurt the poor dears.” Fluttershy said in a somewhat chastising manner to the fisherman. “Uhm….ok…I’ll take that into consideration?” Cod scratched the back of his head a bit, causing the mare to smile and nod, turning and walking away, leaving behind a very confused fisherman. He should really be less reckless and think about how the fish feel about being caught like that….though he seems to have a good heart….even if he did sort of shove his face into my boobs… She giggled as she blushed a bit remembering the shocked look on the stallion’s face after he saw he had unintentionally motorboated the mare. As she headed of in the direction of her cottage she couldn’t help but notice the rainbow trail going through the sky towards the direction of the pond. Oh my…I hope Dashie isn’t going to practice her tricks again today….Cod will be in for a rather….loud surprise. Chapter 4Cod let out a content sigh as he was now able to fish alone and in peace. The sound of the nearby birds singing as a soft breeze rustled the leaves of the trees helped him relax after his rather interesting day in this, supposedly, quiet town. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small bell that was attached to a clothes pin and clipped it onto the end of his fishing pole, effectively being able to alert him should he doze off, which he intended to do. About twenty minutes later, Cod was fast asleep on the bench with his equipment nearby. As he snored softly a rustling was heard in the bushes as a small figure snuck out towards the bench, leaning towards the stallion to ensure he was asleep. Quite satisfied when a snore met their ears they moved to start looking through his bag for anything of value, only to be disappointed by all the fishing equipment, clothing obviously too big for them, and a jar that emitted a foul odor, even when tightly shut. Deciding it best to just leave they got up to walk away, only to trip over the pole that was propped up against the bench, causing it to fall with a clatter and the bell to ring. Cod’s eyes shot open as he heard the bell and he reached to grab his pole, only to find it missing, he looked down to find his pole on the ground, with young filly lying across it with a scared expression on her face. The filly’s coat was a dark navy blue that could easily conceal her in the shadows, her mane was a black spikey mess similar to a mohawk going down the middle of her head, her tail being a simple straight style. She wore a black denim jacket with a grey cotton hood attached to it, giving it a layered effect, and a pair of plain jeans that had noticeable stich-work done to them, showing it got the job done, but wasn’t necessarily an expert stich like Rarity’s work. Cod quirked an eyebrow down at the filly and leaned down offering a hand to help her up. “You alright there little miss?” he asked as the filly eyed his hand cautiously before grabbing it and letting the stallion pull her up to her hooves, when she stood up straight her head came up to just under Cod’s chest, if you counted her mohawk . “Uhm….yeah I’m fine….I uhm….didn’t see your pole is all.” she chose her words cautiously, hoping he didn’t notice her rummaging through his things. She didn’t necessarily plan on stealing anything, she was mostly just curious. “Well just be more careful alright? Coulda tangled my line up and made a rat’s nest of fishin’ line….an’ lemme tell ya kiddo, they are a bitch to take care of.” Cod replied as he picked his pole back up and propped it up against the back of the bench before sitting back down and letting out a yawn. The filly shifted her weight back and forth on her hooves nervously before sitting down next to Cod and twiddling her thumbs idly. “So….what are you doing anyways Mister?” she asked as she eyed him a and his fishing pole a bit. Cod glanced over to the filly and smiled “Just fishin’…I am a fisherman ya know. My name is Cod Piece, how ‘bout you?” The filly looked up at him and smiled a bit “I’m Stormy….Stormy Night….and why would a pony need to be a fisherman? Ponies don’t normally eat fish you know.” Cod chuckled and shook his head in a way that said ‘I thought you might ask that’. “Well most ponies would think that, but I don’t sell fish to ponies, I sell them to Griffons, Diamond Dogs and sometimes if I’m lucky a young dragon.” Stormy eyed him suspiciously, clearly skeptical that he had successfully sold fish to diamond dogs or dragons, griffons were believe-able since they often visited Equestria and got along with ponies a bit easier than other species. “You’ve sold fish to diamond dogs and dragons?.....Ok if you say so.” She said before sitting there silently, creating somewhat of an awkward silence between them. Cod reeled in his line to check the hook, letting out a sigh as it had been picked clean, he looked to see the sun was getting close to setting so with a sigh he attached the hook to a loop on his pole and reeled up the excess line, starting to pack his things. “What are you packing up for? Don’t you have to keep fishing to….get fish?” she asked curiously as he continued packing his things. “Can’t catch the fish that are ‘in season’ at night, too cold fer them to be active enough to be caught.” He explained in a matter of fact way. “But I thought fish didn’t sleep? And how can fish be in season?” she asked, scratching her head a bit. “Well that’s true, fish don't sleep at all, but certain fish are active at certain times, some during the day when the water is warmer an' clear, an’ others are more active at night when the water is cooler and there is less light to give them away to other fish or predators that would eat them. The summer season is great fer certain types of fish becase of they way they taste and the texture of the meat, mostly catfish, trout and bass.” “You sure know a lot about fish Mister Cod Piece.” Cod laughed a bit before ruffling the filly’s mane up, causing her to pout a bit before fixing it. “Well if I’m gonna make a livin’ on fish I sorta have to know about ‘em.” Stormy shrugged and watched him pulls his backpack onto his shoulders and grab his bucket and fishing pole. Following him as he walked off, filled to the brim with questions about him and what he does. Only now did she start to hear a voice in the distance growing slightly louder as it got nearer. “WoooooooooooohooooOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” A rush of wind caught Stormy and Cod off guard as a cyan pegasus with a rainbow trail following her flew past at high speed, almost knocking Cod off of his hooves. “What the hell was that?!” Cod shouted, slightly miffed that the careless flyer almost knocked him down for what would be the fourth time that day. Stormy chuckled and watched the trail of colors darting around the sky. “Oh that’s just Rainbow Dash, resident daredevil and all around awesome mare.” “You forgot rude…..” Cod grumbled as the pegasus shot back towards them, flaring out her wings to come to a stop in front of the stallion, a smug grin on her face. Getting a better look at her, she appeared to be just a head and a half shorter than him, with a trim toned body, only a true athlete could sport. She was wearing a pair of black training shorts and a cyan sports bra. “Hey there, hope you enjoyed the free show as a way to say welcome to town…please hold your applause.” She crossed her arms with an even smugger smile plastered across her face. Cod rolled his eyes and walked past her without so much as a response. Rainbow obviously did not take it very well as she turned and glared at him before shooting past him and turning around in front of him to stop him. “Hey! It’s rude to ignore someone as awesome as me you know! Especially when I gave you such an awesome air show out of the kindness of my heart!” she barked at him angrily with a piercing glare. “Well then you should know it’s rude to almost knock some innocent bystander over by flying past ‘em at mach 4!” he barked right back at her, causing her to gasp then shove him, causing him to fall onto his backside. “Watch what you say to me bud! I’m not afraid to knock your teeth out!” she said as she grabbed his shirt collar adn glared fiercely into his eyes. “Hey knock it off you two!” both ponies looked down to see Stormy worming her way between them, and pushing them apart, being surprisingly strong for a filly of her size. “Dash you shouldn’t be so mean to Mister Cod Piece, I mean you did almost knock him over when you flew past….” She said. With a groan Rainbow dash rolled her eyes and held her hand out to Cod Piece. Cod Piece eyed her hand suspiciously but grabbed it, letting the mare help him up. “Uhm….I’m sorry ok…” Rainbow apologized not quite sincerely as she looked away from him frowning slightly. “….Just be a bit more careful next time….and not so rude.” Cod replied as he let go of the mare’s hand. Rainbow Looked past him at Stormy and pretended to look at a watch she wasn’t wearing. “Oh uh…look at the time! I gotta get going bye!” she shouted as she darted off into the sky, leaving behind the fisherman and mischievous filly. That stallion better watch what he says around me….plus he smells funny…. Chapter 5After his encounter with the atheletic, if not somewhat rude, Rainbow Dash, Cod seemed to be wandering around the town, as if looking for something. Noticing this Stormy couldn’t help but speak up. “Hey Mister Cod Piece? What are you looking for? Are you looking for somepony or something?” she asked as he followed closely behind him, oddly attracted to his tail, the vast amount of hair tied at the end to make it a somewhat manageable poof calling out to her young curiosity. “Well…I’m lookin’ fer an inn or somewhere I can be put up fer the night, gotta get up really early tomorrow to get back to fishin’.” “Oh….well I don’t think we have an inn here…a small town like this doesn’t see a lot of tourism so there isn’t really any need for an inn.” Cod stopped midstep at the filly’s words, letting out a sigh and scratching the back of his neck. He took on a troubled look as he received this new information, he needed a place to sleep but there was no inn and he didn’t know anyone who lived here well enough to crash at their place….He actually didn’t really know anybody here other than the mares he met today and Stormy. “Oh…..is that so?....well no worries I can figure somethin’ out, I can probably just find a nice place to camp out if need be.” He said with a half-hearted smile, heading back in the direction of the river “You should be headin’ home Stormy! I’m sure yer parents are worried sick about ya!” Cod shouted over his shoulder as he waved goodbye to the filly. Stormy tensed up a bit at the mention of parents but smiled and waved to him anyhow. “Oh…uh yeah…..I’ll see you around I guess!” once she was sure Cod was out of earshot she sighed and walked down the streets of town with her hands in her jacket pockets. “If only my parents ever cared about me...." Several years ago at Matterhorn Manor, the manor of an esteemed noble unicorn family, a fancy invite only party was in the works, many nobles and elites stood around idly chatting of their accomplishments in business, or their wonderful children’s achievements in their boarding schools or nobleman’s sports that have been played by nobles for centuries, or the general boring story that others would play off as entertaining just to kiss up to the lord or lady of the manor. “….and so I said’Four star? What do you take me for? And upper middle classman?” said the lord of the manor, earning laughs and giggles from the ponies who surrounded him just to bask in his company. He was, as to be expected, a well groomed unicorn stallion who was dressed properly as well, his dark black mane was slicked back and trimmed to a acceptable length, his light grey coat of fur was well kept just like his mane and gave off a healthy shine. His attire consisted of a stylish and classic black suit with the only accessory being a gold chain to a pocket watch, dangling out the coat pocket. He was essentially the perfect image of a noble unicorn stallion with a great reputation. “Pardon me everyone, I have a small matter to attend to.” He said as he headed towards the kitchen to speak with his chef “O-Oh….hello my lord, are the refreshments and orderves to everyones liking? I would hope I haven’t caused any trouble to you by mistake or-“ “No no Mr. Souflet everything is fine…..I just came to remind you to feed the child….” He said with a noticeable coldness to his voice as he uttered the word child. “Oh yes…..your daughter, I shall take care of that right now.” “Mr. Souflet, she may be the product of my wife and I’s lovemaking….but to have both unicorn parents and be born without a horn…..she is no child of mine….she is a burden….now take her meal down to her in the cellar……I can not have her ruining anything by making an unexpected appearance at the party.” He said as he swiftly exited the kitchen to return to his guests. With a sigh Mr. Souflet grabbed a plate of a pre-made meal and headed to the cellar, opening the door and setting it on the top step that led down. “Dinner time Stormy….” He said before closing the door. The plate remained untouched for some time as a navy blue filly sat leaning against the wall, her knees curled up into her chest as she sat in the darkness in silence. Cod had made his way over to the river that traveled behind the town hall and looked around for a while hoping there would be somewhere that could shelter him for the night, he settled on just going to the stone bridge that went over the river to the marketplace and sighed setting his things down, pulling a blue hoodie out of his bag and slipping it on, he kept the hood over his head as he leaned back against the side of the bridge. “Well…not ideal but it’ll have to do for tonight.” He said to himself as he closed his eyes, only to be jolted by the rumbling of thunder in the distance and the tell-tale pitter-patter of rain on the top of the bridge. “…..Well piss…” he groaned as he knew he would have trouble sleeping with the thunderstorm tonight. It was a sunny, if not somewhat damp, morning in Ponyville as the first rays of light made their way under the bridge and straight onto the face of the sleeping fisherman, who groaned and rolled over onto his side to hopefully block the annoying light with his back. To say that Cod had not slept well last night would be an understatement. Coupled with the pouring rain, thunder and lightning that persisted throughout the night, there was a powerful wind blowing rain right under the bridge and onto him as he tried to sleep, and there was a rather active couple in the house right next to the bridge who seemed to both share an over active libido, and love for kinky playthings that caused shrieks, moans, and, of course, screams. The ray of light managed to reflect off the water under the bridge and straight back onto Cod’s face, causing him to groan in a frustrated manner and sit up, rubbing his sore back and neck from having to sleep on the cold hard ground. “…..today is not a good day fer me….” was all he could say as he stood up and cracked his achy back and neck, causing him to grunt loudly each time a pop from his joints echoed under the bridge. Gathering his things up he headed further down the stream towards the outskirts of town where he was hoping nobody would be at this time of day. After walking for about ten minutes he reached a small pond that seemed to be isolated away from the town, it’s waters were clear and looked so refreshing since it had been untouched by civilization. Cod smiled as he then set his things down and began pulling his hoodie and t-shirt off, followed by his jeans which he unceremoniously tossed in a heap onto his bag, leaving him in his boxers which quickly joined the rest of his clothes. Quite sure he was alone Cod was standing on the bank of the pond as naked as he was the day he was born. Taking a deep breath he ran and jumped into the pond, the cold waters immediately washing away any remnants of fatigue out of him. “Holy hell! This water is colder than a nun’s lonely shriveled up babybox!” he shouted as he shivered a bit standing waist deep in the water, after a few minutes though he found himself getting accustomed to the temperature and began swimming about, trying to wash some of the stench of his sweat and dirt off of him. After a few more minutes in the water he left the pond and grabbed a towel from his bag to quickly dry his fur off. He hummed to himself as he tossed his towel aside and began to redress himself, so as not to be seen by the unlikely passerby. After he was satisfied with his backwoods bathing ritual he began to head back towards town, obviously unaware of an elongated protrusion that traveled down the leg of his jeans, that seemed to wriggle every few seconds, obviously alive. As Cod walked through the streets of Ponyville towards the market for some breakfast, he couldn’t help but notice all the stares he got from ponies he passed by, especially mares who seemed to point and giggle to each other, or even keep their gaze following the stallion for a few moments. “Huh….never got this many looks from ponies yesterday…..wonder if it’s the new jeans….they are pretty nice…” he pondered as he found his way to a stand that sold apples, and other apple related foods. “Well look who it is, how ya doin’ this mornin’ Cod?” said the orange farm mare who Cod had the pleasure of meeting yesterday. “Oh, hey there Applejack, just lookin’ fer somethin’ to eat is all…gotta get some food ifin’ I wanna catch some fish.” He said with a smile. Applejack smiled and set a small basket of apples on the stand in front of Cod “Well I can give ya a dozen apples fer 5 bits, some of the best apples you’ll ever have too.” Cod shrugged and reached into his pocket placing the bits on the counter but couldn’t help but notice more mares passing by and giggling as they looked at him. “Hey Applejack….why are all these mares gigglin’ at me?...Do I got somethin’ on my face?” Applejack just shrugged and took the bits set on the counter before her. “Maybe they just think yer a cute stranger who blew into town, I wouldn’t worry about it so much.” She said with a dismissive wave. Cod just decided to go along with her assumption and grabbed the basket of apples turning and heading off in the direction of the river. As he walked Applejack couldn’t help but notice the elongated shape that traveled down along Cod’s pant leg and went past his knee slightly, the shape seemed to wriggle a bit, causing Applejack to shudder at the sight. Oh, don’t tell me that colt went swimming in THAT pond…..hope he notices it soon or he’ll be bled dry… Cod sat down next to the river and bit into an apple as he examined the waters of it, wondering what would be best to fish for, but he couldn’t help but look down and notice the protrustion along his pantleg. Obviously curious at the bulge he clenched his apple in his teeth and unzipped his jeans, pulling them down to unmask the unknown protrustion, he gasped a bit causing his apple to fall to the ground with a soft thud, attached to his thigh was an eel like creature he knew all too well about, a blood sucking sea lamprey. “Dammit….that’s why them mares were laughin’……they thought this here lamprey was……oh jeez…..” he blushed slightly and pushed the dirty thoughts out of his mind as he sat on the ground and grabbed hold of the eel like bloodsucker and tried to pull it off of his thigh, grunting as the lamprey gripped tight with its suction, wriggling about in his grip to make it more difficult to be gripped by the stallion. “Cmon now! Get the hell offa me!” he grunted as he kept trying to pull the lamprey off, his efforts being rewarded as the lampreys grip gave way and was yanked from his thigh, leaving a mark where its hundreds of gripping needle-like teeth had jabbed into his skin and a big red circle where the sharp teeth on its tongue had bored into his flesh to create a blood flow. With a sigh Cod tossed the, now well fed, lamprey into his bucket hoping he could find someone who wanted to buy it when he would sell it on the market. As he stood up and began to pull his jeans back up, he was caught off guard by a cough from a filly who had apparently seen the whole fiasco right behind him. “Oh……hey Stormy…..there’s a……good reason for why I don’t have pants on right now…..” Chapter 6Being caught with your pants down by someone you know can be really embarrassing. It’s happened to everyone at least once right? Whether it be a parent or sibling who doesn’t know the common courtesy of knocking before entering your room while you are having a little “alone” time or by some strange twist of fate, Cod was having that strange twist of fate right about now. Here he was in a public place with his jeans around his ankles and from the exact viewpoint Stormy had from behind him, could be taken as something rather inappropriate to be done in public. At first glance from behind it would never be considered as the motions one would have trying to remove a slippery, wriggling, blood-sucking parasite from their thigh. “Uh listen Stormy, I can actually explain this,” Cod began as he pulled his jeans back up, promptly zipping and buttoning them before continuing “ya see this mornin’ I went fer a swim in this isolated pond out by that apple farm an’ I didn’t know until a few minutes ago I had picked up a hitch-hiker.” He said as he reached into the bucket he had tossed the aquatic vampire into, holding it out to show her. Stormy tilted her head to the side looking at the creature and shrugged “Uhm…I was just coming by to see how you slept last night….and….you had your reasons for your pants being down, not like you took your boxers off too right?” she replied matter-of-factly to him. Cod let out a sigh of relief as he was now sure he wouldn’t be labeled a pervert who likes to polish his fishing rod in public. “Oh uh….yeah that’s true…” he chuckled as he sat back down and started to bait the line on his rod, casting his line into the calm waters of the river. Stormy sat next to Cod and watched the ripples of the water briefly, letting her gaze shift between the stallion and the water every few moments. The silence was deafening save for the sound of the river and nearby birds. After a few minutes of complete silence Stormy decided to speak up. “So where did you sleep Mister Cod Piece?” she asked causing Cod to look at her then look away, scratching the back of his neck a bit sheepishly. “Uhm…..under that bridge over there.” he replied pointing at the bridge that was only about twenty feet away. Stormy’s eyes widened at his reply “What?! Why were you sleeping under the bridge?” she asked with concern present in her voice. Cod just shrugged and reels his line in a bit, leaving her confused and shocked. “But it rained like a typhoon came through last night! Weren’t you freezing?” “Well…I wore mah jacket….It wasn’t so bad….I mean sure I got a few cricks in mah neck an’ back…not any different than how I normally sleep…I travel a lot fer mah fishin’ career so I almost always find myself havin’ to camp outside.” Stormy’s concern turned to curiosity at the prospect of the many places Cod must have been to in his travels. “Travel?....where have you been to on your travels?” Cod smiled and decided to share a few of his stories with the filly while he fished. A few hours later as the sun had reached its peak in the sky and Stormy and Cod were laughing loudly by the shore of the river. As Cod was right in the middle of one of his more humorous stories of his past. “….An’ lemme tell ya…the doctor said it was nothin’short of a miracle that I was still alive with the way my spine was bent!” Cod finished as he slapped his knee and laughed loudly. Stormy wiped a couple tears from her eyes and sighed “Oh wow, and all of that from slipping on some fish slime?” Cod nodded and sighed “Yeah…I need to be more careful at the fish market next time I go to sell my catch..” Cod chuckled and just let silence take over for a few moments. Stormy looked up at the stallion and twiddled her thumbs, looking over towards the bridge he said he was sleeping under, not finding it to be the least bit comfortable just from the way it looked. “Hey Cod…I have some room at my house if you need a place to stay…I live alone but my neighbor keeps an eye on me…I have enough room if you don’t mind sleeping on an old couch.” Cod was reeling his line in but paused to look at her with a quirked brow “Oh….are ya sure about that Stormy?....I wouldn’t wanna impose on ya or nothin’…plus…I’m not sure I smell the best…bein’ around fish all day long ya know?” he said scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. Stormy waved her hand dismissively “Aw cmon you don’t smell that bad! Grab your things, I won’t let a friend sleep out in the cold.” she then stood up and started walking off, not giving Cod a chance to press the matter anymore. Defeated Cod rolled his eyes as he grabbed his things and followed the filly to her house. As Stormy and Cod approached Stormy’s house a voice was heard nearby calling out Stormy’s name. Stormy and Cod stopped and turned to see a mare approaching them. All Cod could do was stare dumbfounded at the mare who approached them, he had no idea why but he couldn’t seem to look away from her. Cod would have said it was love at first sight….but he wasn’t so much feeling love just from the looks of this mare, that wouldn’t be love after all…he felt….more of an attraction to this mare. Not just in that shallow way most stallions would just wanna take this mare to bed. He felt more of an overall amorous intent towards her. She had a sky blue coat and violet mane that was tied in pigtails, slightly lighter violet eyes, and was just tall enough for her forehead to easily meet Cod’s chin, she had rosy cheeks that gave her teh appearance of a constant blush. Her outfit consisted of a cream colored cashmere sweater with a low cut collar that exposed her shoulders and showed a small yet tantalizing amount of cleavage. Cod wasn’t a bra cup expert, but he judged her to be between a large C cup to a smaller D cup, not really too big but just enough to be a decent handful in ones palms. Her hips were generous and somewhat motherly, they were accentuated by her dark grey skirt that reached down to her calves, which were covered in stockings that Cod judged reached her thighs and were white with grey polka dots. Her body wasn’t really skinny, nor was it pudgy, it was more of a careful balance, giving her a good amount of meat on her bones, yet not being overweight. Overall she was a very attractive mare, Cod could easily see that and found it hard to look away from her. Stormy smiled and waved at the mare who approached “Hey there Soupie! Whatsup?” the mare walked up and hugged the filly before responding. “Oh nothing much, just pushing Olive on the swing.” She said gesturing to a young colt who appeared to be close to Stormy’s age. He had a dark orange coat and mane and was dressed in a plain blue tee-shirt and orange shorts, he was pretty much the same height as Stormy, pretty much an average young colt…the only thing that seemed to stand out about him was the oversized black top hat he wore on his head. Stormy nodded and looked over to Cod “Oh Soupie this is Cod Piece, I’m gonna be letting him stay with me for a bit, right Cod?” she said nudging him in the side with her elbow. Cod seemed to be in a trance until he was nudged by Stormy, causing him to shake his head and look around “Huh, wha-?...OH y-yeah that’s right, since there ain’t any inns in this town Stormy offered to let me stay at her place.” He held out his hand to the mare who just looked at it then at him, wrinkling her nose a bit at the fishy odor he seemed to emit. “Uhm…hello mister Cod Piece…You may call me Soubrette…Stormy may I talk to you for a moment?” Soubrette looked down at the filly who just shrugged and followed the mare over to her house, leaving cod to stand at the doorstep of Stormy’s house. “Huh….guess I really do stink….” Cod said with a shrug. “Stormy I don’t really think it’s a great idea to let this grown stallion stay with you.” Soubrette lectured the young filly. “Why not? He has nowhere to stay Soupie. He slept under a bridge last night in that terrible thunderstorm!” “Stormy I know you want to help him but you don’t really know him that well…you only just recently met this stallion and I don’t really trust him being alone in the house with you…..and on a related note he smells terrible…like fish…exactly like fish.” she replied with visible disgust just remembering how he smelled. “He’s a fisherman, of course he smells like fish….And Soupie I can take care of myself, you know that…cmon please just trust me on this?” Stormy seemed to plead to the mare, puppy dog eyes, quivering lip and all. Soubrette sighed in defeat and nodded. “Oh alright fine…but I am going to keep a close eye on him….and try to get him to take a bath or something.” Stormy grinned and nodded and hurried over to her house. “Thanks Soupie!” she shouted waving back to the mare who sighed and watched go meet back up with the fisherman. “I sure hope she doesn’t get into trouble because of that stallion.” She said as she watched them, from the short distance, and as Cod turned she couldn’t help but let her gaze roam to his backside right as Cod had swished his long floofy tail to the side. She blushed finding herself somewhat staring. For a stallion he had a…rather feminine backside. Soubrette smiled a bit as she watched him walk into the house. “Well….I might have to keep a closer eye on him….for Stormy’s safety of course.” She assured herself, trying to deny any attraction towards this strange stallion. Chapter 7Cod awoke the next morning right as the sun was beginning its slow crawl over the horizon, the sky taking on a light orange hue that created a soft warmth on his face through the window. He sat up and stretched with a loud yawn, letting his back pop several times as he smacked his lips. He slowly stood up and carefully crept over to his fishing gear and began to rummage around his backpack, pulling out a notepad and a pencil. He then began writing a note and set it on the coffee table when he was finished. “There….now she won’t wonder where I am.” Cod smiled as he quietly crept out the front door, shutting it as quietly as he could before taking in a deep breath of the fresh morning air and sighing contently, heading in the direction of the river that flowed behind the town hall, Completely unaware of the pair of violet eyes affixed on him as he walked the empty streets of ponyville. “…..Maybe I should follow him and make sure he is just a simple fisherman….wouldn’t want a dangerous pony around her….gotta keep on his tail.” If not just to get a better look at that ‘tail’ of his~ she thought before mentally slapping herself to keep her thoughts in check. After settling the mental argument with herself she decided to cut through the alleys and gaps between ponies houses to follow the blissfully unaware fisherman. Cod hummed to himself as he trotted down the street towards the outskirts of town in the direction of Sweet Apple Acres, perhaps to check out the nearby lake for bass and catfish. As he walked along he was completely oblivious to the mare who was closely following behind him, diving behind anything she could to hide herself should the stallion turn around. Why is he headed to Sweet Apple Acres?...Is he going to meet Applejack? Soubrette thought to herself only to watch him veer off the road and slide down a steep hill in a crouch, skidding himself to a halt near a large lake just on the outskirts of the farm. “This must be it! Hope the bass are bitin’ this mornin’, I promised to get some cut up and packaged to be sent out to Canterlot fer Pa….hope they have a good mail system here.” After talking to himself for about another minute Cod started to unload his things on thr ground and started setting up a fishing lure on his rod. “This Crawdad lure oughta tempt them bass.” Cod continued to set himself up for the day of fishing ahead of him as Soubrette watched him from a nearby bush. What a surprise….the fisherpony is fishing…..why am I even following this guy around? I don’t even think he would dream of molesting a filly…maybe I should just talk to him. With that thought Soubrette decided to emerge from the bushes quietly and walk over to Cod, clearing her throat to catch his attention. Cod turned to face the sound and gained a small blush on his face when he saw Miss Soubrette standing there. “Oh! Uh, hey Miss Soubrette!.....what brings you here?” he asked tilting his head to the side a bit. “Oh, just thought I would come….talk to you for a bit….we had only met briefly you know.” Soubrette replied, hoping he would buy the…mostly true statement. Cod shrugged and pat a spot on the ground next to him “Have a seat an’ we can talk….honestly surprised you came all this way just to talk…but I always welcome company when I’m fishin’.” With a smile Soubrette sat on the ground next to him and watched the ripples on the water for a bit, seeming to have trouble with a topic to start on. Shrugging she decided to take the easiest route with getting to know the stallion. “So Cod….where are you from?” “Well…” Cod scratched his chin before replying “We don’t really have an official name fer our town….we just called it Timberwolf Ridge…..we had a real problem with timberwolves….I live there with my Ma and Pa…..” he said as he gave his line a couple tugs to move his lure around the bed of the lake. “Oh, so why are you in town anyways? Not really a big tourist place ya know.” “Well Pa told me that there are great ponds and lakes here fer fishin’ since the town itself is rather peaceful, so I might as well take advantage of it to get the next quota fer fish to be shipped out and sold.” Soubrette scratched her chin and nodded softly, there were probably a lot of places that served fish in Canterlot for those adventurous eccentric ponies or visiting gryphons. “So you have a talent for fishing I take it?” She smiled as she watched him tug the line a few times and reel in the slack. “Yup, been fishin’ fer 15 years.” Cod said with a smile “Got mah Cutie mark when I was only 8 years old.” “Mind showing me?” Soubrette asked, genuinely curious what a fishing cutie mark looked like. Cod shrugged and stood up, pulling the waistband of his jeans around his hip down just enough to expose his cutie mark of a fishing pole that had a small silver fish on the end of the line. Only exposing his hip to her which left Soubrette feel….oddly disappointed. Shaking that feeling of minor disappointment she decided to keep the conversation going with the subject of how he earned it. “Do you mind me asking how you—“ Soubrette paused as she was leaning closer to Cod and cupped her hands over her muzzle, her eyes watering as she was met with the aroma of dead fish, sweat, dirt, and just plain unwashed stallion. “How you smell so bad?!” Cod seemed a bit offended at first but started to scratch the back of his head sheepishly “Well….Pa always runs a really tight quota and deadlines that….I never really have time to bathe?” Soubrette grabbed him by his wrist and stood up “Oh no, no excuses, you are going to take a bath. NOW.” She said as she pulled the stallion behind her, who just barely managed to scramble to grab his things off the ground. “Uhm, really I think I can handle bathing myself Miss Soubrette….and can’t we do it inside?....” he said as he stood in Soubrette’s backyard in front of a large washtub filled with soapy water. “And let you stink my house up and possibly stain my bathtub permanently? I don’t think so, now strip…” she said in a stern tone, with her arms crossed under her breasts, seeming to make them stand out much more than they already did which made Cod blush and look away before he sighed turning his back to her and lifting his shirt up. As Cod lifted his shirt up it exposed what appeared to be a myriad of scars on his back, causing Soubrette to gasp and mutter under her breath “Battle Scars?” Cod looked back at her “You say somethin’?” Soubrette quickly shook her head no. Cod just shrugged and tossed his shirt aside and started to unbutton his pants. Soubrette just stood there looking sternly at him as he undressed, though as Cod’s jeans went lower Soubrettes stern expression seemed to slowly melt into one of interest. As Cod's jeans seemed to slide past the base of his tail and over a rather generous curve Soubrette couldn't help but let her eyes follow the denim trousers downwards as more and more of his rather girlish backside was exposed. Soubrette couldn’t believe she was just staring at this stallion’s butt like she was, but for the life of her she couldn’t help herself! It was as if Celestia herself had put meticulous work into crafting this particular stallion’s ass into near perfection! Cod kicked his jeans aside with his leg as his hands were rather busy covering his front as he slowly dipped himself into the washtub, Soubrette shook her head coming out of her somewhat trancelike state she seemed to have slipped into and grabbed a scrub brush, immediately starting to scrub the stallion’s filthy back. The process went on as expected, she started with his back , chest and stomach areas, much like anybody would when they clean themselves, Cod found it kind of relaxing actually. Cod sighed softly as he relaxed in the tub of water….until he felt a hand making its way dangerously close to his rump, causing him to jump and squeak rather girlishly and look straight at Soubrette “What the hay you think yer doin’?!” Soubrette rolled her eyes and crossed her arms under her breasts again “Come on Cod, We have to get ALL of you clean, that means your butt too, just relax.” Cod sighed and relaxed best he could as the mare’s hand slowly made its way to his backside, gently rubbing and scrubbing in small circles much like she had done to the rest of him, though as she continued Cod couldn’t help but notice her getting slightly more….aggressive. What was simple scrubbing was now more of squeezing and feeling up, making him feel just the slightest bit uncomfortable. Meanwhile Soubrette was beside herself as she was ‘cleaning’ the stallion’s backside, finding that not only was it soft and yielded to her touch, but also firm and pushed back slightly. Not wanting to seem like some creepy perverted mare she decided to stop and move on. “Ok, now let’s wash your mane.” She said as she poured some water over his head which made him become blinded from his soaked mane draping all over his face, she then squeezed some shampoo onto his mane and began to lather it up, slowly massaging his scalp to get all the dirt grease and sweat washed out of the mane, pouring more water to rinse the suds out and smile “There all clean.” She said with a grin. Just as Cod was about to stand up and ask for a towel Soubrette had gasped and pushed him back down “WAIT!....we forgot to wash the front.” “We already washed my chest and stomach?” Cod scratches his neck nervously. “I didn’t mean that front…” she paused pointing downwards “It has to be clean…spread your legs.” She said with a s tern tone, this is where Cod drew the line, he started to squirm and wiggle out of her grasp. “Oh no no no no you don’t!” he shouted as he managed to wriggle free and hop Soubrette’s fence, skidding to a halt as he spotted not only Twiliht, that mare who ran the library…..but Princess Celestia standing right next to her, both staring red faced in his direction. “Ok this looks bad…but I can explain, ya see Soubrette here was jus--.” Cod turned to point Soubrette out but had seen she had abandoned him to deal with this mess on his own….wondering what the punishment was for exposing himself to two princesses…. Chapter 8If one lived close enough or was within a twenty foot radius of Golden Oaks Library, they could hear the familiar voice of a certain librarian yelling loudly at some pony who seemed to offend her…if they were in the street about five minutes ago they would know the exact reason why this purple alicorn was so flustered and red-faced at this stallion, if not from anger then for the reason she was angry at him. “Don’t you realize there are laws against nudity for a reason?! What if there had been a group of young foals walking by?! Or somepony thought you were some pervert flasher and attacked you! You should be arrested for what just happened, or banished or--!” “Twilight calm down, it was an accident after all, plus it helps having a bit of excitement these days. I know you are just making sure that everything for the Summer Sun Celebration goes off without a hitch, but it can get a bit boring to go over these things all day…” Celestia smiled at the stallion who sat there with the expression of a child who had been caught doing reprehensible deeds…pretty good comparison considering he DID do something reprehensible…only as an adult. “Aw shucks yer highnesses…highnessai?....highnessee?....uhm….both of ya…I would never ever intentionally expose myself like that, let alone to a couple of proper princesses who deserve the utmost respect.” Cod said as he sheepishly scratched his arm, now wearing the clothes he had previously had on, given the chance to grab them before being dragged off for a lecture in the library. At his explanation Twilight’s angry expression seemed to soften a bit, yet she still crossed her arms and looked away from him “…Fine….just don’t let it happen again or I will show you what happens when a stallion gets hit by a magic blast spell straight in the groin.” Twilight replied sternly, making Cod’s hands dart straight between his legs protectively, nodding rapidly to show he understood. Princess Celestia only giggled as she stood up “Now now there’s no need for that Twilight, you may go now Cod Piece, just try to keep your clothes on alright?” she winked at him which made him blush and chuckle. He stood up to leave the library, still obviously flustered from all that transpired, he tripped over a nearby stool and ran into the door, which he tried to play off by opening the door, only to end up flopping outside onto his stomach and scramble to stand up, closing the door behind him to preserve what little dignity he had, earning a couple of giggles from Celestia and making Twilight crack a smile as they watched his little fiasco. “He certainly is an odd pony…but he sure does have a cute ass.” Celestia said, earning a nod from Twilight, who paused then looked at her teacher. “Wait what was that last part?” Cod let out a sigh and brushed the dirt off his jeans and shirt from his fall “Man I thought they were gonna rip mah ‘fishin’ rod’ off an’ shove it up mah—“ he paused as he heard some rustling in the bushes and a giggle. Cod quirked his eyebrow then walked over quietly, he thenknelt down and jumped into the bushes, colliding with the smaller body of a certain dark blue filly. “Ahhhhh! Help the big naked fisherpony is gonna show me his ding dong!” Stormy playfully teased as Cod pinned her down after tackling her. “Stormy! What the hell are ya doin’ eavesdroppin’ like that?” Cod crossed his arms as he stood up and helped her to her hooves, picking a few leaves from his mane. “Well Soubrette told me about what happened and told me to come make sure you weren’t getting banished or….like you said about getting your fishing rod ripped off……by the way I thought you left your pole back at my place when Soubrette was gonna give you a bath…” she teased again causing Cod to sigh and trot down the road. “Damn….with the past couple days I had here I need a nice stiff drink….ya’ll got a bar, or pub or tavern around this town?” Cod said as he stretched his arms up above his head and groaned a bit from the tension in his muscles. “Well we have the Prancing Pony over by the town square, I think they run till around midnight or so.” Stormy replied, only to see that Cod was already heading in the direction of the town square “Wow he must really need a drink…” Stormy shrugged and headed down the road to her house. As he trotted into the swinging saloon style doors of the tavern Cod took a quick look around, it was a pretty standard environment as one would think a tavern would look like. Tables with chairs set at them with a couple of lights on the wall nearby to keep the areas adequately lit, some random pictures of different ponies and notable landmarks within the town spread on different areas on the wall, hardwood flooring, and of course the bar with stools set up for ponies. Aside from that the bar was nearly empty, then again most ponies don’t start drinking at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Cod decided to take up a stool at the empty bar and looked at the different bottles of booze they had lined up, they had rum, triple sec, gin, vodka, cider, wine, and of course whiskey! Cod smiled as he waited, hoping the open sign in the front was correct in saying the bar was open at this time. As Cod tried reading the label of an awkwardly shaped bottle his ears flickered to the sound of a door shutting, he turned towards the sound and spotted….a rump? A cute tight rump at that, topped off by a short bright yellow tail. Slowly but surely the rest of the pony it was attached to came into view, a young pegasus mare who was carrying crates full of bottles, presumably to be stocked at the bar. She seemed to be hardly much older than Cod, maybe even a year or so younger. Cod couldn’t help but let his eyes roam a bit to take in the sight of this mare. She had a bright red coat of fur that was complimented by her fiery yellow mane that was in a similar fashion to a certain Wonderbolt, yet not quite as spikey and somewhat more girlish. She had an athletic build with curves in just the right places, that showed she kept herself in great shape. She was wearing a denim mini-skirt that her perky rear filled out quite nicely, and a white short-sleeve t-shirt that fit tightly around her breasts, which were currently squished up against the crates, and seemed to bulge out to the sides against the pressure of the boxes, showing the mare had a generous bust. She spotted Cod and looked a bit surprised, but her expression quickly changed into a sly grin as she trotted over and sat the crates down on the floor behind the bar, slapping her hands together a few times to dust them off before leaning over the bar in front of him. “Hey there! Don’t normally expect anybody to be here so early. But I suppose I could let it slide this once k?” she said as she leaned forwards on the bar towards him, showing off her cleavage as she did, causing Cod to stare for a moment before blushing and quickly trying to make eye-contact with her. “Oh uh….th-thanks….” He stumbled a bit over his words causing him to blush more from making himself look like an idiot. “Sheesh, this your first day talking? Don’t worry I don’t bite…..unless you want me to.” She leaned over the bar towards him, still grinning slyly which made Cod turn almost as red as her coat. “Oh uh…well I…” Cod paused and cleared his throat before speaking again “….good to know?” he chuckled nervously which caused her to giggle and start laughing. “Relax! I’m just messing with you, my name is Hot Plate by the way. What can I start you off with?” she kept leaning on the bar waiting for him to place an order, since he was the only customer there. “Well…I guess just a whiskey will do fer now.” Cod shrugged and took his bag of bits out, placing a few on the bar with a smile. “Sure thing.” she swiped the bits quickly and dropped them down the front of her top with a wink as she searched for a glass and the ice before pouring the whiskey for him. “So what’s your name sweetie? I haven’t seen you around town at all.” She asked as she set the whiskey in front of him, which he grabbed and took a sip of before replying. “Mah name is Cod Piece. I came here on business, Pa sent me here cuz the time is just right fer fishin’ here. I catch, filet, an’ sell fish to griffons, diamond dogs, sometimes even a dragon who doesn’t much care fer the taste of ponies….but mostly just send shipments to the Griffon Kingdom.” He punctuated this by taking another sip of his whiskey. She nodded as she leaned forward again, lazily resting her breasts on top of the bar in front of him as she listened. “Fishing? Never heard of a pony having a talent for fishing.” “Well I guess I’m a rare case then?” Cod chuckled and shrugged taking another swig of his whiskey, effectively emptying the glass and setting it down with a content sigh as he felt the light buzzing sensation in his head. Hot plate refilled his glass and shrugged “Maybe….so do how do you get the fish to the Griffon Kingdom? Take it yourself? That’s a long way to go just to deliver a couple fish, especially for an earth pony.” She punctuated this by giving her wings a couple flaps. “Naw, I actually never been to the Griffon Kingdom mahself…would like to someday though but Pa keeps sayin’ I ain’t ready fer it….I normally find a local delivery service in the town I go fishin’ in an’ package them mahself to be shipped out, gotta do it JUST right to keep the fish from spoilin’ on the trip.” Cod took a sip of the refilled glass, putting another couple of bits on the table for the drink. “Makes sense….so where are you staying? We don’t exactly have an inn or hotel in this town.” She asked him, quirking her eyebrow questioningly at him. “Well….I slept under one of the bridges on that night there was a rainstorm….kinda sucked and hardly slept at all….but this young mare I met named Stormy kindly took me in fer the duration of mah trip….kinda weird how at her age she already lives alone…but I’m just glad I have a place to stay.” Cod replied, taking another big gulp of his whiskey, feeling the effects of the alcohol getting to him a bit. “Stormy? That filly who lives by herself? I don’t think many of the ponies in town are gonna look at you staying with her in the best light….grown stallion who just blows into town and hunkers down with a filly who lives on her own?” she said causing Cod to look a bit shocked. “Why would they think that? Shoot I know I’m new in town but I would never even dream of doin’ anythin’ wrong with her. I ain’t some sort of foal fooler….plus the fact I ain’t even had a marefriend before…so I’m sorta in the dark about the inner workins’ ya know?” Cod shrugged finishing off his second glass of whiskey. Hot Plate grinned slyly again at this new development “Never had a marefriend? You’re a cherry boy then? How cute~” she stuck her tongue out a little, poking fun at the poor stallion who blushed brightly, cursing under his breath about whiskey giving him loose lips. “I-it’s not that mares don’t wanna date me ro somethin’…I think….It’s more of….me constantly travelin’ and never bein’ able to get to know a mare well enough ya know?....plus doesn’t help I got pulled out of school at an early age to go straight into the business fer Pa…” he seemed to get a bit sadder as he continued, looking down into his reflection in the brown liquid. “H-hey I was just messing with you Cod, and if you ask me you are actually kinda cute…I’m sure you’ll find a nice mare who wants to be with you?” she quickly replied trying to cheer him up. It seemed to do the trick as he looked up from his drink and smiled a little. “Yeah…I guess yer right…” he said as he began taking another drink. “Or a stallion if you’re not careful…you do sorta look a bit like a mare.” Hot giggled as she went straight back to teasing him, causing him to almost spit his drink out, coughing as he forced it down. “Hey! I do not!” he crossed his arms and pouted a bit which made her laugh loudly at him. “Oh cmon you have a long pretty mane and tail and you are actually kind of curvy, you could totally pass for a mare from the back.” She smirked as Cod then began looking down and lightly dragging his hands over his front, as if investigating if it was true. “Naw yer crazy.” Cod chuckled as he brushed off the topic and glimpsed towards the clock on the wall. “Ah hell, I’m burnin’ daylight, I better get back to fishin’ if I wanna make quota by the end of this trip.” He said as he stood up and turned to heard for the door “I’ll see ya around Hot Plate!” he waved back at her with a smile. “Nice meeting you Cod! You can come back anytime…especially if you bring the sweet ass back with you!” she called after him, causing him to turn and look at her blushing brightly, to which she just winked back at him as he awkwardly stumbled out the door.
Chapter 1Little Authors note~ I decided to get back into the writing scene after I got burnt out and ran out of ideas for my, admittedly, terrible human in equestria Slenderman Fanfiction, so after deleting it and doing some pony roleplaying on secondlife….I found myself struck upside the head with a simple yet brilliant idea for a new character.
Well he isn’t so bad for being a backwoods stallion, still wish I could have done something about his mane though, ugh I thought I could see rats scurrying around in there…
Chapter 3Cod Piece Walked along the path from the boutique that led in the direction of the park, hoping to get some fishing in before it got dark.
“Oh……hey Stormy…..there’s a……good reason for why I don’t have pants on right now…..”
Chapter 6Being caught with your pants down by someone you know can be really embarrassing.
