Chapter 1 It’s all up-ish down-ish hill
So I woke up what looks like around… around 8 in the morning, when I realized that my head was killing me. I then remembered that I was at my friend’s brother’s friend’s cousin’s party, or something like that, so after I downed about 17 orange tasting alcoholic beverages, and washed them down with orange juice... after eating a couple of oranges, I went to throw up my orange colored guts. When I got back, I distinctively remembered what I think was Princess Luna flying out the window… and then BOOM all went black, then that’s all I remember. I THEN realized that I was outside lying on grass looking at some really brightly colored trees. I tried to get up to get a closer inspection, but when I tried, I couldn’t stand. I tried to look if there was something wrong with my hands, if they were hurt or something. They weren’t hurt, but there was something off about them, maybe it was the fact that they were BLUE HOOVES!!! I was actually pretty calm.
So after that I quickly realized that I was a pony… Pretty fast realization, huh? So since I was calm, I got up on 4 hooves, and started to walk up to a pond. I peered down at my reflection, and realized I looked exactly like my human self except exactly recreated as a pony, I had my brown hair (or mane and tail now I guess), with my green eyes, I had my tattoos which covered the entirety of my arms, and I was apparently a dark blue pony, I still had my beard, and I also have my ponytail but looks like I have two now, eh? Worst joke ever, right? After that bit of nothing, I hear an all too familiar voice…
“Come on Angel, please eat your pie, It’s a really special recipe.”
Is that who I think it is? I walk past a bush after finally getting used to these damn hooves, (which are awesome!) when I see the cutey of cutey-ness, Fluttershy! “Angel, I don’t want to argue with you, please.”
“Fluttershy?” I said in a voice which was a mixture of questioning and… no just questioning.
“Ah!” she screamed. Fluttershy quickly hid behind a rock. I guess she was in ‘the zone’ or something and I spooked her. “Oh sorry, I was in the zone and you spooked me.” Never would have guessed… But she quickly got out under the rock and had a questioning look on her face. “I haven’t seen you around here before, so how do you know my name, I hope that it’s okay that I asked.” She asked. She is so cute!
Okay focus, Tyler! You can’t tell her you’re a human, because she’ll freak the hell out, what do I say? “I’m uh… Twilight’s cousin from Kenya- uh… Kenterlot, no! Canterlot, that’s right! I’m Twilight’s cousin from Canterlot! She told me all about her friends!” She stared at for a second then said, “Oh, ok. What’s your name?” I thought about it, and thought that it’s okay if I have a human name, just as long as I don’t have a human face, otherwise, CHAOS. “My name’s Tyler. Nice to meet you.” I said with subtleness. “It’s nice to meet you too, Tyler.” There was an awkward silence… “So uh… Which way to Twilight’s?” Nice. “Just follow the dirt path until you see a big tree, that’s it.” She said in her quiet voice.
“Ok thanks I expect to be staying In Ponyville a looong while.” I’d say that would be as honest as it can get. “Who knows, I might move here!” I gotta figure this out. “Ok, well I hope I see you around, you seem really nice, Tyler.” She said. After walking away I just lit a cigarette to pass the time. It’s a bad habit, I don’t need your input. Whatever.
Well time to be on my way. I noticed as I looked back that Fluttershy was STILL trying to get Angel to eat his food. Stubborn guy. So I set off on my way to Twilight’s when everything went dark for a second, when I opened my eyes I was lying in a broken fruit stand, while I saw a very familiar pink figure.
“Oh sorry I ran into you like that I just noticed that you were the new pony in town and I always like meeting the new ponies in town in fact I really really really really really really really really-!” She said before I cut her off. “It’s fine, really.” That really hurt. “Could I have a hoof?” It REALLY hurt. “Sure thing but I mean you can’t have my hoof because I mean you already have hooves of your own and I-!” “Ahem.” She kept it down. “Uh right sorry.” After she helped me up I told her I was looking for Twilight, she didn’t provide any info I didn’t already know, and I also told her my name, and that I was Twilight’s cousin. She also said she liked the… as she would say it, the ‘drawings’ on my arm. Don’t worry, I explained it to her. She managed to knock my smoke out of my hand when she tackled me into the stand, and after I lit a new one, Pinkie asked what it was.
“Hey what’s that thing?” She looked really curious, so I enlightened her. “Oh, yeah, this is a cigarette; it’s just something to pass the time.” She turned her head, put on a smile and said, “Can I have one?” What the hell was I supposed to do? I can’t have one of my favorite ponies smoking! What was I gonna do? “Uh… hey that pony just ran out of Sugarcube Corner without paying!” She looked around and saw a pony that was going for a jog; she thought he was the thief of legend, so she dashed after him.
Ok onto Twilight’s house, I can meet the rest of the mane 6 later, but right now I gotta figure out what's going on with this pony thing. I got to the door and knocked. Twilight answered and said “Hi, you must be new in town, it’s nice to meet you, I’m-.” “Twilight Sparkle, yes I know, and I need your help, can we talk inside?” so much for taking this subtly, Tyler. (I’m using the word subtly a lot aren’t I? No, really, am I? I don’t know!)
She just stood there staring at me for a few seconds then said, “Spike take a break, I have some stuff to discuss alone with someone.”
So I told her the whole story, about the party, the ponyness, the seeing Luna, and that I don’t want her to tell anypony anything, unless she’s absolutely sure she can trust them. After that hour. Fifteen minutes spent telling her my story; forty five minutes spent telling her how to walk on two legs. She didn’t get it.
“Ok, I know that we can trust Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity. I’ll gather them round in the morning.” I didn’t get why she didn’t just do it right now, however I realized that it was getting dark and I needed a place to stay. Twilight said I could stay at her place, but I wanted to explore Ponyville.
