Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Hello Twilight Sparkle," A hazy voice interrupted the princess's dreams about a male pony and a ball. "May I speak to you or do you have other important matters to dream about?"
Twilight Sparkle looked around the ball room, her colt right next to her, staring intently as if asking for another dance. She searched around for the hazy voice and couldn't find it.
"Are you okay, Princess?" Said the orange colt, his blue mane combed neatly started to drop a bit in the front.
"Yeah, I'm okay." Twilight spun lightly around and tried to reason that maybe she was just hearing things. Maybe somepony is above me whispering things to me in my ear. Frowning, she saw the dream slowly become twisted, her date left her, everyone was leaving. She didn't understand! It was her dream!! A deep, red Changling walked over to her, bowing her head.
Her hair was a see-through pink-ish color, her eyes almost blood red. Twilight cringed and watched the Changling stroll to her.
"Do you think I'd be like my sister and hurt you?" The red changling hissed. "I see she left quite an impression. But I'm not here to hurt you, your Poniness; I'm here to warn you."
She lifted her head in a regal manner and let her hair sway in the musty room.
Twilight looked at her curiously and held her ground. She still didn't trust them because of what their queen did to her brother. Her brother couldn't quite recall everything even though it's been a year and a half.
"Why did you come here in my dream?" The princess shouted, "Who are you and what did you come to warn me about?"
"I am Rose Quartz," Rose Quartz bowed her head showing a sharp, jagged horn, "Princess of the Changlings, second to my sister Queen Chrysalis, older sister to Princess Moonstone, the one who jesters as your Princess Celestia. My warning is this; Do not trust your Princess, young one, trust those who only heed your warnings with no hesitation in harmony. Your friends are in danger thanks to my sister. Why do you think your training has been a month and not a couple weeks like promised?"
Twilight didn't like the hiss in the word 'promise' nor did she like her mentor to be called false. But Rose Quartz did bring up a good point, the training was supposed to be a couple weeks.
"Do not worry, young one, you will see me again," Rose Quartz lifted her head up and looked back the way she came from, "I am here to help you in your quest to stop the darkness from spreading. There will be a gem Spike will not be attracted to, that is my calling stone."
"But you haven't answered my other question!" Twilight Sparkle shouted over her, watching the red changling go.
