My Country Belle

The Poem

Granny Smith green eyes that sparkle,

A smile that takes my breath away,

An angel with a sunkissed glow,

Bright as a sunflower in May.

Her blonde hair almost seems to shimmer,

A living wonder just to see,

Her laugh sweet as a sugarcube,

As she wanders beneath the apple tree.

Just by the look she gives to me,

I feel myself falling apart

This sunset apple of my eye,

Has a piece of my wishful heart.
