Disharmony's End

"And thin it was like boooooom! kapooow! Kerplooosh! and that's all I remember before I woke up! Hey do you wanna hear another one!" Pinkie pie said with utter excitement from reminiscing about her most recent dream. "I would like too but you know the cakes don't pay us to stand around and talk about our dreams all-day." Said the stallion standing right across from pinkie pie. "Besides aren't those your friends coming in." He said noticing the group of five mares walking in from his peripheral vision. Making a bet of commotion as they entered. "Huuuuh! your right frosty those are my friends! I'm gonna go say hi!"

Those were the last words pinkie pie uttered before exiting the kitchen in an uproar of bouncing and giggles. Leaving the stallion alone with nothing but the sweets they had been backing that morning.

"Hi girls!" Pinkie pie yelled as she entered the front room of the shop. "Hey pinkie wanna hang out." Rainbow dash called down as she hovered near the ceiling. "Gee dash I would love to but I gotta watch the shop while the cakes are out of town on vacation. They've been looking forward to this all year, they even saved up enough bits to bring the twins with them. Ohhhh I'm going to be so lonely with out those sweet little chocolate raisin cakes here." As an expression of saddens washed across pinkie pies face if you looked close enough you could see a tear forming at the edge of her eye and was about to fall until it was quickly sucked back into her tear-duct and her expression returned back to its overwhelmingly happy tune. "Well I'll just have to have twice as much fun with them when they get back to make up for lost time".

"Oh will that's to bad. About the hanging out thing, not the cakes thing." Rarity said quickly correcting herself. "I know I wish I could, Oh twilight before I forget, can you give this to spike." Pinkie said before lifting a box from under the counter. "He is the cakes personal taste tester you know, Well other than me of course."

"Sure, I can bring it by the library on our way to the park. Butt .... What is it."

" Ooooooh just look and see." Pinkie pie said as she opened the box to reveal an average sized cake but instead of frosting it was costed in gems. "It's absolutely beautiful!" rarity said with a slight outburst but showed no sign of apologizing. "What do you call it."

"Mr and Mrs cake were experimenting with new recipes and they call this one rainbow gem surprise." Pinkie pie said while her and every other pony in the room  were eyeing the cake with pure interest.

The multicolored gems surrounded the cake in such a way you'd think the cake  itself was made entirely of gemstones stacked into the form of a cake. "That is one awesome looking pastry!"

"Your darn tootin it is!" Rainbow dash and applejack exclaimed. "There's no denying that, spike is going to love it, It'll be his present for working so hard lately."Twilight said as she magically closed the box and sat it on her back. "Thanks! I can't wait to hear what he thinks of it."

"Are you sure you can't come to the park with us." Fluttershy quietly said as she made her way over to the counter. "Ooh, like I said fluttershy I wish I could but I've gotta wa........."

"You ok sugar?" applejack asked.

"I'm fine, just a sec. Um, lunar frost can you come in here a second." Pinkie pie called into the kitchen but heard no answer. "Lunar frost?, Who's that?" Twilight whispered to herself.

Moments later the stallion in question entered from the back doors into the front room. Standing before the six mares was a pegasus  no taller than any them, if so just slightly. He wore a grey coat and a black mane with a white streak that ran along the edge of it, but the only interesting feature about him that caught every ponies eye was his eyes they matched the same shade of grey as his coat, witch was weird, sure there were ponies who's eyes matched their coats, twilight being no exception, having purple eyes to match her purple coat but no ponies eyes matched their coat to the exact same shade. That being, the only ponies that seemed to recognize him other than pinkie pie were rarity and rainbowdash. Desperately wanting to break the awkward silence that had befallen the room lunar frost let out a weak hello. wishing he could have said that better he waited for at least one of them to answer back, but they were all struck silent by he's appearance that is except for rarity who let a smile run across her lips pleased to see a familiar face. "Hello darling how are you."

"Hi rar...Miss rarity." lunar frost corrected himself. "Oh please no need to be so formal you can just call me rarity."

"Ok....rarity lunar frost hesitantly said with an awkward smile, not because of rarity but because when he looked up he noticed a certain blue coated rainbow maned pegasus eyeing him like a lion would its prey.

Noticing her gaze was met she floated down and stood infront of him. She leaned in close causing lunar frost to bring his neck back some and said in a tough confronting tone. "Don't I know from some where?" Rainbowdash asked as she circled the winged stallion as a vulture would a dying body in the desert. "I don't think we've met before now." lunar frost tried to say but ways quickly cutoff by rainbowdash who had remembered where she had seen him before. "Now I remember!" Rainbowdash shouted.  "Your that pegasus who's always flying above clouds to where no pony a can see you, huh." Rainbowdash demanded. "I always wondered what you did up there in secret! So oneday I followed ya. Saw you doin some pretty quick maneuvers up there. Some pretty advanced tricks too, nothin a poser like that wimp thunderlane could ever pull off. But he's a pretty good flyer too, not as good as me mind you. But you looked pretty natural up there like you were training for something. So I put two and two together. I bet you're training in secret to show me up at the wonderbolts try-outs next month aren't you."

"Um......no.... I." Lunar frost stammered.

"I bet you think your a pretty fast flyer don't ya." Rainbowdash said eagerly enjoying how she was winning the nonexistent argument. Lunar frost not knowing what to do swallowed back his cowardness and met rainbowdash's  gaze trying his best to stand his ground. "So what if I do you think your a fast flyer!"

Because I'm the fastest there is!

"You think you are!"

"Is that challenge!"

"No it's an observation! All you do is showboat!"

"Showboat! Showboat!" Rainbowdash couldn't think of anything else to say that word kept running through her head. "You know what, enough talk lets settle this."

"Any time! any where!" Lunar frost yelled back.

"How about tomorrow at noon! First one to fly to canterlot castle and back to the finish line wins!"

"Sounds like a plan." Lunar frost said not as mad as he was before.

"Alrighty than, see you there, come on girls lets go!" Those were the last words rainbowdash said before exiting the shop in an uproar of anger. "Rainbow wait!" all the mares yelled after apologizing to lunar frost and chasing after her, pinkie pie was the last to leave the shop stopping to talk to lunar frost. "Um....frosty sorry about rainbow......and sorry about this too but could you watch the store while I go and try to calm her down."

Lunar frost who was no longer mad a rainbowdash but at himself for losing his composure turned his gaze to pinkie pie. "Su..sure pinkie I'm sorry for all that I'll watch the store you go ahead.

"Thanks frosty." That's all pinkie pie said before leaving the shop to chase after the others.

Taking in the silence of the now empty room lunar frost couldn't help but shout under his breath

"I'm such an idiot.!"
