Prologue: Through the Portal
Twilight took a big gulp, as she stared at this portal. It was much different than the one that took her to the human world. She missed her friends over at Canterlot High. Twilight turned to stare at Celestia with pleading eyes. She really didn't want to leave.
"Do I have to?" She barely whispered.
Celestia gave a curt nod in reply.
Twilight turned back around. She stepped through the portal, and was sent into a world of swirls....
She was then suddenly thrown out, and into another world.
Meanwhile, Spike stood still, next to Celestia.
"Please? What if something bad happens? I could never forgive myself!" Spike begged.
Celestia looked annoyed but finally agreed.
Spike happily ran through the portal.
Twilight landed on her hooves, or what she thought was her hooves, with a soft thud. She barely walked two steps, when she heard something behind her. She turned around, and saw Spike.
"Spike?" Twilight asked.
Spike looked up, and was shocked.
"T-Twilight?" He asked.
Twilight nodded, curious as to why he was acting that way.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
Spike pointed to her body. She finally looked down for the first time, and tried to scream, but only hissed.
She looked down again, and saw tiny little hooves, that had claws that could come out, or go back in.
She could feel her horn, but not her wings.
"Spike?" She asked, worried, "Why can't I stretch my wings?"
"Maybe because you don't have any?" He suggested.
"Why exactly do I look like?" She asked curiously.
"You look like Opal, with purple fur, a horn, and a cutie mark.Your tail is the color of what used to be your mane...." He replied. "What do I look like?"
"You look like yourself." She replied.
Once they got through their shock, they walked down the streets of what was Cat-er lot. Suddenly, another cat with a blue, green, and purple mane appeared. She wore a crown, and tiny golden shoes on her paws. She had a horn and some wings.
Spike thought she looked even prettier than before, of course, he still had an eye for Rarity.
"P-princess Celestia?" Twilight asked in awe.
"Twilight Sparkle." Celestia greeted. "I trust you're heading to Kitty Ville soon to learn the magic of friendship?"
"Kitty Ville?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight!" Celestia said shocked, "Surely you must know your cities! Oh tell me you haven't been that ignorant!"
"I was just kidding!" Twilight said, laughing nervously. She truly had no idea what Kitty Ville was, or where it is.
"Well, you'll be leaving from here, Cat-er lot, soon." Celestia replied.
Twilight nodded, and noticed that some-kitties were wearing collar-bags, similar to saddle-bags. This shocked Twilight. Upon notice, Twilight also noticed that she too was wearing a collar bag. Her collar had some sparkles and gems on it, similar to her cutie mark. She also had a little bell on it. The bags would attach the the collar, and the collar was to be taken off at bed time.
"How do I even know this stuff if I haven't been here before?" Twilight asked herself in shock.
She then reached the train station, grabbing a map on her way. All of these town names and places had cat references like her home place was.
Twilight was still in thought. Today was very much the same day it was when she had first arrived in PonyVille. Twilight then started pondering about the portal when her mind clicked, and she sat in fear. The portal was alicorn powered! If Celestia had used her powers to use it, then that means she would have to relive her life here before she could go back home!
She was sad. She didn't even notice Spike trying to converse with her.
"Twilight?" Spike asked, worried.
"Yes Spike?" Twilight replied sadly.
"Whats wrong?" He asked, still worried.
She then explained her theory to Spike, bringing a sad expression upon his face.
Twilight was still staring at him when she noticed something.
"Spike, I think your actually a cat." She said, stupidly.
"What? That's ridiculous!" Spike called out.
Twilight stared at him. She started to rub her paw upon his head, until the dragon ears came off, revealing cat ears.
"Eeyup. You're a cat." Twilight replied.
Spike sat in shock. He then looked at his tail and yanked it off, revealing a purple and green cat tail. They both looked at the claws, and pulled them off revealing paws. They did this for on the way to Kitty Ville, until he had taken his costume off completely.
He was the same color he was as a dragon, and he had a color, and a cutie mark. His cutie mark was a rose, with a heart.
"You're probably a match-maker." Twilight said.
"But how can that be? I'm only a baby, er, kitten!" He declared.
"No you're not." Twilight said noticing that he was in fact a cat just like she was.
They both decided to get some sleep while they waited to arrive in Kitty Ville.
Twilight and Spike got off the train, and saw a cream colored cat with a pink tail, and wings. She had some butterflies as her cutie mark.
That must be Fluttershy!
Twilight walked over. She was happy to get some friends.
Twilight approached Fluttershy happily. It was nice to see some familiar faces here. She noticed the cat was heading over to flower stand, a basket in one of her paws. As Twilight had caught up to her, she noticed that cat was also wearing a collar, but she didn't have a bell. The cat turned around, hearing Twilight's bell ringing. The cat also noticed that she was new in town. She noticed another cat by her side. She kept praying that this cat wasn't going to hurt her.
"Hello! My name's Twilight Sparkle and I-" Twilight was cut off, as the cat had then run off. Definitely Fluttershy.
Twilight shrugged, kinda shocked. She headed over to Sugar Cube Corner, and noticed it was gone. In it's place was Cat Nip Corner. Despite that, she walked in and saw a pink cat behind the corner. This cat also noticed that Twilight was new to town. Twilight walked over to the counter and began to introduce herself, when the pink cat let out a huge gasp, and ran away from the counter. Twilight felt hurt. Despite the fact that this had happened to her when she first came to town as a pony, they weren't this hurtful.
Twilight headed over to Sweet Apple Acres, where she found Applejack. Everything played out like it did as it did in Pony form.
Her face was stuffed with apple products. The strangest one was the 'Apple Stuffed Mouse' that was in her mouth. Not wanting to hurt the Apple family's feelings she just smiled and ate it all. She was still grateful that they had accepted her.
Twilight headed home, she had an urge to study instead of hangout with anyone, which was strange for her, even if she was an Alicorn or not. She studied the same thing that she did when she had first moved to PonyVille. The book about Nightmare Moon. She felt strange, considering that she knew what would happen. She still had Spike wright a letter to Princess Celestia. Almost everything played the same way.
She fell asleep, and when she woke up, it was about time that she knew Pinkie would throw the party. She headed out anyway, and went to the book store, and went to get some quills as well. Once her collar bags were full, she headed out. Needless to say, trying not to hurt Pinkie's feelings, she did the lamest impression of surprise ever. Pinkie still thought she was shocked, so her plan worked.
This time, she was careful not to put hot sauce in her cup, instead of juice. This time, she didn't head upstairs in ignorance that they wanted to be her friends. She knew she had to, or else the elements wouldn't work like they did last time. She pretended that she didn't like them at all. Spike noticed, but thought she was acting like she did in the other world. He knocked on her door.
"Twilight?" He called out.
"Hey Spike." Twilight replied.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you sitting downstairs with the rest of us enjoying the party?" He asked.
"I don't feel good" She lied.
"Yeah right." Spike said rolling his eyes. He closed the door, and went downstairs to continue partying. When it was about time to see Princess Celestia rise the sun, did she finally go down. Everyone was leaving to go and see the event. Twilight and Spike left together.
Once they arrived, they noticed that something was different. Either Princess Celestia was here, or what. They couldn't tell. Suddenly, she noticed someone familiar in the crowd that she never noticed before. Flash Sentry. She was love stricken. She had finally realized her feelings for him when she had gone into the human world. Needless to say, Twilight had gotten used to saying somebody, and someone, instead of some pony, so it she knew it would be rather difficult for her to get used to saying some kitty.
Finally, Mayor Queen* had appeared. She welcomed every kitty there, and then she began to introduce Princess Celestia.
"And now, here to raise the sun, Princess Celestia!" Mayor Queen had announced, and then lifted the curtain, to reveal nothing. Every cat had gasped, including Twilight. She turned to Spike, who nodded.
Suddenly, Nightmare Moon had appeared, laughing crazily. "Why hello every kitty, glad to see you've come to welcome me and not that dreaded Celestia!"
"So, who knows who I am?" She asked, laughing. "No one?"
"I do!" Twilight called out. Every kitty gasped. "You're Nightmare Moon!"
"So then, my smart cookie, you must know why I'm here?" Nightmare asked.
"To bring eternal night" Twilight answered fearlessly.
Nightmare Moon laughed like a maniac. "Correct!"
Suddenly chaos spread across the room, and every kitty was running for their life.
Twilight fled with Spike back to the library, where she put him to bed. He may not've been a baby, but her sure did act like one! Suddenly, the door burst open, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie had come in. Rainbow Dash had flew over to Twilight, and slapped her, leaving a cut on Twilight's cheek. She used all of her will power not to attack back.
"HOW DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS? HUH? ARE YOU A SPY?" Rainbow Dash burst out.
"Oh shush Rainbow, she a'int ah spy!" Applejack said, grabbing Rainbow by her tail.
Fluttershy looked up and saw Twilight's scratched cheek. She began to treat it. and in no time, it was already begging to heal.
"Thanks." Twilight said.
Fluttershy just nodded and flew back to the ground.
"Well? How the hay did you know about this?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Twilight explained, but not about the portal or anything, and then she walked over and grabbed the book on the Elements of Harmony. She read the elements out loud. She walked outside, not even bothering to wait for them. They followed her to the Everfree forest where the Elements would be waiting. This time though, everything went down differently.
This time, there was an Ursa Minor instead of a Manticore. That really shocked Twilight. Fluttershy still took care of it, flawlessly. Thinking that the trees wouldn't appear, Twilight kept walking without a care in the world. When they popped up, Twilight was shocked. Pinkie still sang her Laughter Song.
They walked forward until they came across the crying dragon. Rarity felt bad for him, so to fix his mustache, she cut off her fabulous curly whiskers, and gave them to the dragon. He felt better, and once they crossed, they came across the broken bridge. Rainbow Dash flew across and fixed the bridge. While doing so, the Shadow Bolts had appeared, wanting to take Rainbow Dash, but she refused the offer.
The six cats continued, until they finally reached their destination: The Sisters old castle. When they got inside, they quickly located the elements. Twilight requested time alone with them so she could try to get the sixth element. Nightmare Moon had made an appearance, and took the elements. Twilight jumped into the little tornado that had appeared, and then it disappeared.
"Twilight darling, are you done yet?" Rarity asked.
"Twilight?" Fluttershy called out.
The five ponies walked inside to see that she and the elements were gone. They frantically looked outside the window, when Rarity had noticed a flash coming from the other side of the castle.
"Look!" She said pointing. They ran over to help Twilight. Meanwhile, Nightmare was flinging Twilight around.
"You're just a pointless little kitty! Aw poor Twilight, no cat is around to save you!" Nightmare laughed evilly.
Suddenly, the battered Twilight looked up, and heard them coming.
Suddenly something started to happen. Twilight just grinned.
"You see Nightmare Moon, while you think that you've destroyed the Elements of Harmony, you've simply made it easier to defeat you. All I needed was the elements broken up into gems."
The five ponies stepped into the room, and elements lifted into the air and started spinning, and Nightmare Moon looked amazed. Then, power began to ring about the room.
"You see, each element was here the entire time! Laughter, Loyalty, Generosity, Honesty, Kindness, and finally Magic!" Twilight called out.
Suddenly the room lit up, and then Nightmare Moon's armor was blasted off, leaving her naked in just her fur, like every cat was. Then Princess Celestia appeared. She was happy, and escorted us back home, where I went happily. I was awfully tired. Once I fell asleep, I knew I would have a great dream.
