KAROOMM!!!! I awake on the ground amidst a plain with patches of green where there aren’t exploded craters or blackened patches etched into the land on the edge of a evergreen forest. I realize the ground is littered with the bodies of injured and dead ponies, I hear gunfire and roars of fighting ponies and bombshells whistling over my head, and the earth shaking explosions that is curdling my blood with fear, I begin to feel my hooves grow cold, my mind starts to race my body begins to move without me as if this is natural for me, concerning since I have never gone into combat. Dawning realization that I’m in the middle of a battle, gathering my wits from my unconscious haze I look down at my clothes to find a gray uniform with red accents, it blends in nicely with my ruffled gray coat and orange mane. Movement catches my eye as I see a small group of ponies wearing the same uniform as me, waving for me to come over. I pick up what I assume is my weapon and rock back on my haunches to crawl over to them, knowing that flying would be much more dangerous. When I reach them they all hug me and exclaim “CROSS FLAME!!!!”
I understand that Cross Flame is likely my name and that they are excited because they assumed I were dead along with all those other ponies around me. “I can’t believe you defeated all of them!” a brown coated pony with an hourglass cutiemark noted with excitement.
Next to him was a beautiful purple blue alicorn she was shorter than me by a few centimeters she had brilliant blue eyes and was wearing a light green bowtie, she was blushing with a big smile on her face with a hint of shyness to me more so than to the rest of the group, but she had a desire deep in her eyes. I make a mental note to investigate later, but right now I have bigger issues. She leans against me and gives me a deep loving kiss, surprised I blush but kiss back and then she nuzzles up against me. I turn to who I assume is the leader of the group, she is an orange yellow pegasus with flame like hair and a flaming lightning bolt cutiemark, but when I make eye contact she tears up and silently cries. I don’t understand why, but with her like this she won’t be helpful, I look around at the rest of the group there is a gray pegasus with a bubbles cutiemark, her eyes are looking at different places but other than that she seems pretty normal. There is blue pegasus with a rainbow colored mane she is leaning against a nearby tree, I walk over to her and ask what is the plan.
“Well duh, the plan is to get to the other side of this plain alive, and why are trying to use that?” she says pointing at the weapon I have on my back.
“I thought this was mine.” I reply.
“Wow you really got thrown for a tizzy didn’t you, go grab your gloves.” she orders, and notices my confused look and says “There white, classy Matter Gloves. Now go quickly!”
I hurry back over and drop the weapon on my back and find my Matter Gloves, these are much more my style.....speaking of which, I wave my hooves in the air around my body. POOF!! “This is very cool, now then, to complete it.” I say flicking my wrist, a black cane with a beautiful blue sapphire on top appears in my hand completing my outfit. I walk back to the group in a stark blue shirt, black coat, and a red bowtie, complete with a top hat and cane.
“M-my, don’t you look nice.” said the blue alicorn.
“Thanks...umm..” I stumble out trying to think of her name.
“M-midnight, I’m m-midnight, Rainbow Dash or Dashie for short, said you bonked your head pretty hard, but the fact you forgot m-me is impressive.” Midnight says looking away shyly.
“Nice bowtie there.” says the brown pony who now dons a fez.
“Not bad yourself” I say noting his bowtie.
“This is the Doctor.” Dashie says gesturing a hoof at him.
“And this is Derpy Hooves.” the Doctor says dragging Derpy in front of him.
“This is Spitfire.” Dashie gestures to the orange yellow pegasus from before.
“She’s your mom.” Midnight whispers to me. I walk up to Spitfire and give her a hug.
I turn to the group and yowl “Ready for battle!!”
“RAWR!!” the group replies.
I close my eyes and imagine a bag about one meter long and one half meter wide and one decimeter deep inside are bombs and a portal to keep the bag small. It appears in my hooves and I shoot high into the sky, I also materialize some sunglasses and put them on, they enhance vision and ID friend vs. foe for me. With that information I begin my attack, heading into a deep dive towards a large machine gun trench. I open my bag and drop two quite large bombs, “DIRECT HIT!!” I yell, and my group charges in through the smoke to make sure there aren’t any survivors and to salvage ammo. “Cross get down here!” Midnight calls, I fly down to find a underground bunker door secured with heavy dead bolts. I put my hoof on one of the dead bolts and close my eyes and see the mechanism holding the dead bolt in place. I melt and pull the matter that makes up the dead bolt out and create a key to unlock the rest. Everyone is in position to charge in after I push the door open. I hold up a hoof to signal them to wait and mold the key into a spy bug send it in and find guards with guns aimed at the door.
I report to the group “Guards, guns at the door.”
Gesturing them back I use the bug one last time as an explosive blinding and deafening the guards. I push the door open and the group charges in and dispatch the guards quietly. We then walked into a long hallway past several empty labs with experiments of all kinds from magic in a bottle to hi explosives to webbing nets to antimatter, and among which were more sexual, at the end of the hall there was a larger lab with lots of scientist ponies all watching intently at a blue orb which you understood was powered by antimatter the only thing that could give a slight gravity shift on this magnitude. I gesture my group back and walking forward grabbing a lab coat and dematerializing my hat I walk next to a scientist pony and ask “Sorry I’m late, what’s going on here?”
“Transdimensional travel, it’s the most important experiment here second only to antimatter weaponry.” He replied.
“I’m still a little fuzzy so what are those unicorns doing done there?” gesturing to the six unicorns at the base of the machine.
“The three on the left are stabilizing the antimatter because it’s too volatile to have a set stabilization field and the three on the right are controlling the stability of the P-branes for travel.” He explained.
“So, how did you permeate the field with the antimatter necessary for it to run?” I continued.
“We just kept the antimatter into a ball and it spun itself out to become the tunnel’s lattice.” He answered.
“One more, what is the range on this field?” I asked.
“We don’t know this is its first test, your on the team you should kno…..!” he said turning around to face me, I quickly smacked a pressure point on his neck and he fell to the floor. I went to my group and said “Wait for my signal.”
They nodded in response. I ran to the pony who was at the main control desk and whispered in his ear “The enemy has infiltrated the bunker, we need to shut this down.”
He replied “Understood, Sir.” He slowly pulled down a lever and the machine ramped down. The machine begins to dim and the unicorns suck the antimatter into a container and the portal closes in on itself.
“Now!” I yelled my group charged into the room around the group of scientists halting them and Dashie radioed base reporting unusual lab experiments in an underground bunker.
“Cross Flame!” I heard Midnight yell before I lost consciousness.....
