"But mom I won't do it again!" Sunset Shimmer screamed in despair. She said this even though she didn't know what she did.
"No we gave you enough chances!" her mother replied before throwing her out the door. Literally throwing her. Ever since the day she was born her parents hated her. For two reasons that Sunset knew of. She wasn't a pegasus like her mom and dad, and she was a unicorn. The only way Sunset had stayed in her home was by she casting a spell that allowed her to walk on the clouds. But since her mom threw her off the cloud steps into the air she had to think of a spell that would save her quick. Then she remembered one where it could create a cloud. But she had never done it before. On the other hoof she didn't want to break a bone, or die. So she tried it out... Then when she tried the spell she closed her eyes to see if she would hit the hard wet ground. She felt her back land on a light fluffy thing of puff. The spell worked, but not for long. The cloud had disappeared after she landed on it. So she fell. Just not to her death, or broken bone.
She was still alone and wet sitting in the rain, hoping to die there. Instead, finding she fell asleep. She felt comforted by the sunset and fell to sleep. During the night Sunset had felt somepony lift her up into the night sky. When she peaked through her heavy eyes she felt so close to the stars she touch the little flickers from the night stars. The princess must have found her in the night and was bringing her somewhere. Sunset always adored the princesses, their magic was just so powerful. They had the powers to raise the sun and moon. Sunset had always wanted those powers to show her parents she was special.
When she woke Sunset saw something she never would have thought she would ever see. The princess, Princess Celestia was standing above her. Looking down upon Sunset. Although Sunset didn't feel the cold hard ground anymore, she felt a nice warm bed. At first she was surprised but then put the pieces together. She must have brought her to the castle that night. Then Sunset saw the other princess walk into the room. Sunset had heard of this princess but has never heard her name. Celestia started to say something but then choked it back and stopped.
"What? Is there something wrong?" Sunset asked.
"Oh, no. Not at all," Celestia replied.
"How did I get here?"
The night princess replied, "I picked you up in the middle of the night. You were lying underneath a pegusas home. Was this home anything to you?"
"No," Sunset lied quickly turning away.
"I can tell you are lying young one. What is your name?"
"Sunset Shimmer," she mumbled.
"Well I can tell by the look on your face you don't know my name. I am Princess Luna. Princess of night and the moon."
"Well, Sunset, where do you live?" Celestia asked.
"I guess nowhere now."
"That pegusas house did mean something to you. Didn't it?" Princess Luna asked.
"Yes.. It was my home."
"But you aren't even a pegusas," Celestia pointed out.
"I know, I was born of two pegasi. But I learned a spell to allow me to walk on the clouds. Then my mother pushed me off the side. I casted a spell just in time to save myself from the fall. Then I fell asleep to the sunset," Sunset explained.
"Well," Luna started, "you are looking for a new student, aren't you sister?"
"Yes, I am," Celestia replied. "How would you like to be my student Sunset Shimmer?"
"Oh, YES!!! I have always wanted to learn to do magic. But my parents wouldn't send me to school because they were disappointed that I was a unicorn."
"Great, you can start your studies tomorrow morning. For now have a look around your new home." Celestia replied with great joy.
"Alright," Sunset said. Then the princesses left the room to continue business elsewhere. Sunset never felt more joy then she ever had in her whole life. She was probably the happiest filly alive at that moment. Sunset crawled out of bed and did her normal morning things, like brush her mane, brush her teeth, and on. Then she started to roam the castle as instructed by Princess Celestia.
After Sunset found herself in the kitchen she started to introduce herself to the kitchen staff.
"Hello, I am Sunset Shimmer. Princess Celestia's new student," Sunset introduced. But everyone was to busy preparing a dinner for the governors from Saddle Arabia. But Sunset understood and wandered towards the archives. Which obviously she didn't know was the archives, but the guards explained to her that the archives were sacred and only the princesses and Celestia's student was allowed in the archive.
"But I am Celestia's new student, Sunset Shimmer."
"Well we haven't heard that news yet, so you are not allowed in," one of the guards replied.
"Oh well," Sunset thought, "I really don't need to go into the archives any ways." Sunset continued her palace search. She found the throne room, the dining room, the rotunda, and all of the guest bedrooms. She also had a conversation with Princess Celestia. It was just about her studies.
That night Sunset could barely get any sleep, she was just way to excited for her studies to begin tomorrow.

Welp, I'm back and a better writer! So, I've been gone for like a year but now I'm back and I'm going to edit and practically redo this whole story. Slowly but surely.

Studing with Princess Celestia
During the next few weeks Sunset learned more about magic than she ever imagined she would. Because of how her mother pushed her out the door into the air she was found by the princesses and taken under their wings. So her mother kind of gave this to her, but on the other hoove it was an attempt to kill her. Or get rid of her but same idea. Over those weeks that Sunset learned, she became interested in dark magic to take revenge on her mother and father. She already had a plan. She would cast a constant moving spell on their house before they got home from their work, so they couldn't get in, but when they do catch up she will transport, and explain how they ruined her life. Then she will put Cerberus in their house and lock the door behind her, to have Cerberus teach them a lesson. Then return Cerberus to his place. But of coarse Sunset will have to find a spell to control Cerberus.
When Sunset started studying Dark Magic, the magic started to take over her body. Then she decided she didn't just want revenge on her parents but to take over Canterlot... Then Equestria!!!! But luckily because she was Celestia's student she had more access to information than any other villain who tried to take over Equestria. Villain , she thought, I am calling myself a villain now?
Yes, Sunset, you are now officially a villain, a mysterious voice said.
"Wh- Who are you?" Sunset asked, she couldn't believe this was happening. Sunset didn't know the dark magic was soon going to completely consume her heart to turn it dark.
You will soon know me as yourself. I am a dark magic soul, I fill your heart with darkness. Until you succeed to rule Equestria, then I will leave so your heart will be fully evil without me, the voice said.
"No, I won't let you. I- I am good," Sunset struggled to say anything as trying to fight the dark magic took most of her energy.
There is no way to fight me, the more you fight the easier I can get into you, the voice explained. The soul had finally got in. After some weird feelings Sunset started to feel... Evil. She let out an evil laugh to start. It echoed the archives.
The guards barged into the archives finding that Sunset was the only one in the room.
"Is anything wrong?" Sunset asked innocently.
"No, we just, uh, thought we heard something," the guards explained.
"Well everything is fine here boys," Sunset said as she was putting away the books she had out. "Anyway, if anything went wrong I can protect myself," she said as she sashayed out of the room.
Over the next few months Sunset had gotten away with learning both good and dark magic. But when Princess Luna walked into the archive while Sunset was practicing Dark Magic it all crumbled then and there. All the trust Sunset had built between the princesses was now gone. Princess Luna called in the guards and asked them why they didn't stop her. But while they were having that conversation, Sunset transported from in front of her to by the door. Then Sunset ran as fast as she could until she reached Princess Celestia.
"Princess Celestia (huff huff) I am so sorry... I just wanted to get revenge on my parents," Sunset tried to explain. This was the last thing her good self said. Then Princess Luna ran up to her sister with the news.
"Sister," Princess Luna started. "Sunset Shimmer has been using Dark Magic in the castle. And she's has been using Dark Magic commonly."
"I can explain!!!" Sunset tried to explain, but Celestia didn't want to hear it.
"You have betrayed my trust. Sunset Shimmer you are no longer my student. You are banned to the Everfree Forest forever," Princess Celestia declared.
"NO! This can't be happening!" Sunset Shimmer ran out of the throne room away from the guards. Sunset ran and ran until she found herself in a closet.

In the Dark Closet and Getting Caught (Again)
Inside that closet that Sunset originally thought was tiny suddenly became a huge dark abyss. She used the light from her horn to look around. She had found a lot of the princess' old things. It looked like a lot from when Luna and Celestia were young. And the most intriguing thing she found was a picture. It was of four ponies. It looked like little Luna and Celestia, but there was also two older ponies. Ones that looked a lot like they could have been the princesses parents. Sunset started to wonder what ever happened to them. But Sunset let it slip her mind when she kept wandering around. She had found a few nice blankets to sleep on, since she was going to have to stay there for a few days. And she also found some snacks. But the thing she found the most comforting was a mirror. Where she could see her reflection and talk to it quietly for company. She had talked about all sorts of things with it.
"You know what I don't understand."
What? she imagined the mirror saying.
"I decide to work my butt off to impress the princesses and then... Bam! I'm here. Hiding in a closet. Talking to a mirror."
Excuse me.
"No offense. But, gosh. Why does life have to be so...HARD!"
I don't know. But I bet life as a mirror is harder.
"You wanna bet?"
No. But imagine, I am just waiting for the day I get smashed.
"Man. your right. Life as a mirror is tough," Sunset said as sarcastically as possible.
After at least maybe a week of talking to the mirror (Sunset had to guess, seeing as it was dark and there was no clock) the guards had came storming in finding Sunset sleeping soundly on the floor with her pile of blankets.
"We are told to put you in jail in the name of Princess Celestia," declared the guard.
"But I didn't do anything wrong!" Sunset Shimmer shouted in reply.
"You used Dark Magic. Not only that but in the castle of the princesses of Equestria," the guard had explained. But then suddenly something had happened. The mirror it was glowing and started to swirl. Sunset didn't know what it could lead her to but what ever it was it would work, she would rule that land instead. Talking to the mirror all that time played off. Sunset Shimmer did a salute to the two guards that had entered the closet and leaped into the mirror. And that was the last of Sunset Shimmer... In Equestria.

The News to Princess Celestia
"Princess Celestia," the guard introduced as he bowed to the princess.
"Yes," Princess Celestia replied.
"Sunset Shimmer has escaped into a mirror," the guard explained.
"A mirror?"
"Yes, a mirror. A portal opened and she just jumped into it. No warning."
"She will not return is all we can hope for."
"Yes, do you wish for me to let Princess Luna know the news?"
"No, send her to me"
"Yes ma'am." Then the guard ran off to find Princess Luna, which gave Celestia time to think. She thought about all that had happened. She had to think about why Sunset would do this. She only had one bad thing her history. Her parents not wanting her.
"Sister, you wanted to see me," Princess Luna started.
"Sunset Shimmer has escaped from Equestria," Princess Celestia explained to her sister.
"I see," Luna thought about it. "How did she escape?"
"Through a mirror," Celestia explained.
"A mirror?"
"Yes, apparently a portal opened and she just hopped through the portal."
"Where is this mirror?"
"I don't know. Guards!" Celestia called over the guards that had found Sunset Shimmer. The guards came running over. "Show my sister and I to the mirror."
"Yes ma'am," the guards replied. Then they showed the princesses to the closet. Then into the closet they showed them to the mirror.
"This mirror MUST be destroyed," declared Princess Luna.
"No. If Sunset decides to come back I want to talk to her... see if I can change her mind," Princess Celestia explained.
"Alright sister. But if something goes wrong it is on you," Princess Luna explained.
