The Fullmetal Human : The Making of Friendship

Ed and M were in his room as Ed put up his calender and M was looking through all the games they had gathered when the human suddenly froze.

"...What the..." Ed said silently as M floated around with the games in her hand.

"What's wrong?" M said as she walked towards him no longer floating.

She came up behind him and saw that he was holding the calender in his hand.

"M... what year is it?" Ed said staring at the calender.

"2010 why?" M said confused.

"Hmm... it seems that coming here pulled me out of a space and time as well" Ed thought hanging his calender on the wall.

"Well it doesn't matter I guess" Ed shrugged as he went to see what else was in the bags.

M looked between Ed and the calender before she shrugged too. They both went about their business till there was a knock at the door.

"Come in" Ed said as he took out the console from its box and set it on the table in his room.

The door opened and Derpy came in "Time to eat Ed" she said as she stopped and looked at the console.

"Is that a Pony Genesis?!" Derpy gasped as she zoomed next to it and looked at it.

"Uh sure is, I'm fixin' it for M over here" Ed smiled as he pointed at M who was still looking through her games.

"Eh?!" M exclaimed as she hovered back looking at Ed as if he was serious.

"Who's M?" Derpy asked puzzled as she looked around the room where Ed had pointed.

"Our ghost" Ed smiled as he went and got something out of his bag.

"Ed!" M yelled at him "Regular Ponies can't see me remember" she said as she hovered around Derpy trying to prove a point.

"I know but maybe this will help" Ed said showing her a pen and notebook

"Huh?" The ghost said confused and Derpy was even more confused as the mare saw him talking to the air.

"Look M I know your a ghost and nobody can see you but that doesn't mean that I'm gonna ignore you like your not there when I'm talking to someone else" Ed said giving a soft smile "I want you to talk too in your own way okay"

M hovered there for a few seconds before sighing and snatching the pen and notebook. Much to Derpy's surprises she suddenly saw the pen and notebook hovering as it made motions indicating that it was writing something.

"Ed?" Derpy said still confused but Ed put a hand up telling her to wait as the ghost wrote something down.

Shortly after the ghost hovered to Derpy and put the notebook by her face. Derpy read what was on the notebook outloud.

"Hello my name is Mother, you may call me Mom for short, Ed calls me M and he's the only one who can see me, It's nice to meet you Derpy, I've lived here for a long time"

Derpy nodded and looked at Ed. "She's a real ghost" The mare said while Ed nodded back

"She doesn't have anyone to talk to or hangout with so I was wondering if you'd like to be her friend Derpy" Ed said as he looked toward M who didn't know what to say.

"Oh... Sure, I'll be her friend!" Derpy said smiling bright as she looked at the floating notebook.

M was floating there still for a few seconds until she came back to reality and smiled. She wrote something down and showed it to Derpy.

Derpy glee'd "Of course I'll play games with you M, that's what friends are for" she said smiling

M smiled like she just received the best gift in the world as she began writing something else. She showed Derpy her notebook and nodded.

"Sure let's go see if they have any in the store right now I already ate so we can leave right now" Derpy said as she began walking out the door while M floated close behind giggling in excitement as she did.

They were out of their room in no less then a few seconds leaving Ed to walk towards the windows in his room. He saw Derpy Home with M close behind with her notebook in her hand still smiling as she floated along. Ed turned around from his window and leaned on it as he smiled.

"Derpy took that pretty well... Well I wouldn't be surprised I mean they are kinda magical ponies and all"

He stayed there for a few seconds before his stomach growled saying "Feed Me"

Ed chuckled and started to head downstairs as he opened his door and walked into the hall. He closed his door and turned to move but was greeted by a Blue Haired Unicorn.

"Hey Edward how's it hangin" Viny said as she blocked his way downstairs.

"Um good... why?" Ed said knowing there was something the mare wanted.

"Just wanted your opinion on this new album I'm doing" The unicorn said as she produced what looked like an Ipod and a pair of earphones to match.

Ed took the device and earphones and started listening to the first song on the list. He could tell it was Dubstep but was already not liking to the wubs the song was producing.

He kindly smiled and took the earphones off. "You should get a second opinion" Ed said handing back the device.

Viny's smile twitched "But that's what the last pony two pony's said!" Viny said yelling into the air throwing her arms up.

"Really? Who were they?" Ed said wanting to know.

"Cherilee and Octavia" The blue haired unicorn said pouting. "Hmpf, at least Derpy liked it" she said folding her arms.

" Ya know Viny... I think she was just trying to be nice" Ed said scratching the back of his head.

Viny's arms dropped as she produced a sad and depressed look on her face. She then turned around and dragged her body back into her room.

Ed sighed and made his way downstairs to the kitchen. Right before he could go down the stairs he felt a hand stop him.

"You know... that wasn't very nice" Somebody said behind him. He looked over his shoulder and saw the mare with glasses with a disapproving expression on her face.

Ed turned around and looked in her the eye. "It was either 'break it to her lightly' or have somepony else say it sucks..."

The mare looked back at him for a short while before sighing. "Your right... and have it be somepony you know then somepony you don't I guess... anyways my name is Cherilee and you already know Vinyl and Derpy so why don't you go say hi to the rest of the group, there downstairs eating still"

"Sure... wait Viny isn't that one mare's name?" Ed asked sounding a bit confused.

Cherliee laughed "Haha no no, that's just what Derpy likes to call her" the mare said smiling.

"Oh... well off to eat and greet I guess" Ed smiled as he turned and started walking down the stairs.

"Crap, I called her Viny..." Ed thought as he mentally hit himself in the head.

As he walked down the stairs he saw the Drunk looking mare less drunk sitting with the violin mare. He approached the table and saw a salad bowl and some plates with forks. He got himself some salad and sat down with the two mares. As he began eating he looked over too the Violinist and saw her staring at him. Ed quickly looked down at his food and took a few bites.

"How am I supposed to learn there names when the mood is all tense like this" Ed thought to himself as he looked over to the other mare at the table.

The mare was eating the salad by the mouthful. She only stopped to take a swig of her wine... or "Smooth Berry" as it said on the bottle. She finally noticed Ed looking and smiled with her mouthful, she then swallowed her food and wine and wiped her mouth clean.

"Hehe The names *hic* Berry Bunch, I believe you already met my sis Cher-*hic*-liee" The semi-drunk mare said while winking.

"Huh" Ed said with a mouth full wondering why she winked. Ed then remembered how he first met Cherliee and started choking on his salad.

"*ack* I didn't mean for that to happen" Ed said while still coughing his food out.

"Hahaha no worries Edward~ I know you meant no harm" Berry said showing a soft grin.

"But if you ever do get rejected by my sis I'm always here" Berry said winking causing Ed to look away with a blush.

Berry started laughing as she got up and left the table. "Liven up Edward, it'll make your time here more enjoyable *hic*"

Ed sighed and turned back to the table to see the Violinist holding up a sign reading "Octavia" as Ed said it out loud.

"So that's your name huh" Ed said as the mare nodded and wrote something else on the sign.

"So she's one of those girls huh" Ed thought to himself as he watched the mare finish writing

She held it up and it read "Pleased to meet you Edward, I hope you enjoy your stay at Home"

Ed smiled "Its nice too meet you too Octavia, and thank you for letting me stay at Home" The human said before Octavia got up and walked over to Ed.

She leaned forward and starred Ed in the eyes.

"Umm Octavia what are you-"

"You may hide behind your mask for as long as you want, but the pain will never go away" Octavia said as she stood straight.

Time froze as Ed looked at Octavia. She had a solemn expression on her face as she turned around and started walking away.

Ed stood up quickly "I KNOW THAT" Ed yelled as he clenched his fist together.

Octavia stopped for a few seconds before walking forward again leaving Ed standing there.

"...I know that" Ed said as he looked down at his hand with a pitied expression on his face.

Outside

Applejack was walking back to her farm after a long day of follow the human. She rubbed her shoulder and yawned as she looked up at the sky. It was nearing dark time and she wanted to be home by dinner so she could get some grub in and a good night's rest for tomorrow. As she walked along the path too Sweet Apple Acres she heard something yell in the distance. She quickly turned towards the direction of the noise and stood there waiting. After a while she heard the yell again and began running towards the source of the noise. She ran for about a good minute before slowing down. She neared a opening and slowly came up beside a tree too see who was making the yelling. She looked around the opening and saw a figure standing in front of a tree.

"Wha in the hay are-" Applejack stopped as she recognized who the figure was and took cover by the tree.

Ed

"AHHHHHHHHHH" Ed screamed as he punched to the tree with his left hand.

"Dammit..."

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH" He screamed louder pounding his fist into the tree again.

"I can't do this again..." Ed thought to himself as he brought his hand over to his face.

He looked at the blood running down his hand and scoffed. He leaned towards the tree and let his head hit the hard wood. He leaned there trying to cry but no tears came out. He sighed and pushed himself up from the tree and stood there while looking up at the sky.

"All these pony's are too nice to me... I just want to pay Twilight back and go home where I can be alone again"

He brought up his right hand and stared at it.

"Would they still be my friends if they knew my past..." Ed said out loud as he heard a twig snap.

Ed turned around and saw Applejack standing there staring at him. They both just stood there silently till Applejack started walking forward towards him.

"STAY BACK" Ed yelled at the mare who didn't even flinch as she strode over to him.

"STAY-" Ed didn't finish his sentence as he felt the mares arms wrap around him.

Applejack hugged him and pulled him close to her as he tried to find words to say.

"It's okay Edward... I'm here for you" She said as she hugged him tighter.

Ed didn't cry but felt a tear go down his cheek. He hugged her back and stood there for a minute before each of them let go and stood across from each other.

"Don't tell anyone okay..." Ed said as he looked away from Applejack too ashamed about what she saw.

"I won't... ya gotta tell me what's wrong though" AJ said as she looked at him with a worried expression.

Ed stood there thinking over his words before he looked at her. "I've faced some terrible things in my life... It's made me who I am today... and it haunts me still to this very day Applejack"

The mare nodded at his words but was still confused. "What in tarnation was so terrible that it would cause you too do this!" AJ said grabbing Ed's left hand showing him his own bloody hand.

Ed looked past his hand and at the mare "I... I can't tell you" Ed said looking down away from her.

AJ got frustrated and grabbed him by the collar. "Damn it tell me Edward!"

Ed slowly looked up with no emotion in his eyes as he spoke "Your the Element of Honesty right... So tell me this is a lie when I say that I have nothing else to live for"

Applejack instantly froze as she registered what he just said. She let the human go as she backed up and saw Ed giving a sad smile.

"Our secret okay" Ed said silently as he started walking away leaving the mare standing there breathless.

Applejack watched as Ed disappeared from her sights as she fell to her knees and felt tears go down her face.

"Edward......."
