Ponyville Hospital

Ed stood outside with the CMC kids and the other 5 of the mane six as they waited for the doctor to come out and give his analysis on Applejack, She had passed out seconds after Edward had made it out of the house. They rushed her to the hospital as the fire department came and did their jobs putting out the fires. When they had got to the hospital they bandaged up Sweetie Belles hand and the doctor said that she would be okay but to just leave her hand alone and make sure she didn't put any pressure on it.

So there they were all waiting for the doctor as Ed leaned against a wall with the kids sitting along it close to him. Twilight was pacing back and forth as Pinkie sat on the bench with Rarity and watched Twilight pace. Rainbow was tapping her foot rapidly getting impatient as time flew by.

Sweetie looked up to Ed and saw that his clothes were still ripped from before when he came out of the burning house earlier. She tugged on his shorts making him come back to reality.

"Huh? Yes Sweetie?" He asked as he noticed the filly tugging his short. He slid down the wall till he was sitting next to the filly.

"Ed, how did you get out?" Sweetie asked as she remembered back to inside the house where Ed had been pierced with a piece of wood that went through his body.

"I'd rather not talk about that right now Sweetie, I don't even know how I got out" Ed said as he brought his hand up and stared at it.

That man Ed had met knew something about his father, and maybe something about his family history too. But Ed was more concerned with the fact that he had somehow regenerated a part of his body and also had magical powers or something in him.

Ed sighed and looked at Sweetie. "Just don't tell anyone what happened in there okay" Ed told Sweetie who just nodded. He looked over to the other fillies who were listening and nodded as well.

Ed smiled then looked to the other girls. They were all to worried to overhear there conversation. Except for Pinkie Pie who was sitting next to him on the floor suddenly smiling at him.

"Okie Doki Loki" She said as she made some kind of zipping motion with her hand and mouth.

Ed chuckled as he patted the pink mare on the head and stood up. Now standing he stretched before hearing the door to Applejacks room open. The door opened and closed as a doctor came out.

Rainbow dashed in front him. "IsApplejackgonnabeokay!?" She asked in a blur.

The doctor was confused as he tried to understand what the mare had just said. Rarity came in and pushed her aside.

"What my friend said is, will our friend be okay?" She asked calmly.

The doctor smiled. "She's perfectly fine" He started as all the mares took a breath of relief.

"She just needs to rest that's all" He added making Ed sigh in the back.

"She's in a stable condition so she can have visitors anytime she wants" The doctor lastly said.

The girls thanked him and watched him leave to go attend other patients before opening the door to Applejacks room. They saw her sitting up in her bed looking better than before. She had an apple in her mouth as she slowly waved at the girls.

"Applejack!" They all said at once as they rushed in and gave her a hug all at once.

"I appreciate the hug girls but don't ya think its a little too much?" AJ asked as they all held her together.

"Nope" Pinkie giggled before hugging her even tighter.

"Were just glad your okay darling" Rarity said as she let go and stood back.

"Yah" Applebloom said still hugging her sister as the rest of the girls let go.

"Oh Applebloom, I'm just glad you and the girls are okay" AJ said sounding a little sad.

"Don't worry, Ed saved us" Applebloom said as she turned around and pointed at the human. Who wasn't there.

"Hey where did Ed go? Applebloom asked as she looked around in the room.

"He left when the doctor came out and said Applejack was okay" Pinkie Pie said as all the girls turned around and looked at her.

"What? Sweetie Belle went with him too" She added as they all then looked at Scootaloo now who noticed that her friend was gone.

"Where is that human?" Twilight said outloud as Applejack snickered.

'I don't blame him, he's probably mad at me" AJ said as she looked down at her bed sheets.

Twilight turned to the farmer and frowned. "For what? Applejack it wasn't your faul-"

"No Twilight it is!" She said angrily as she gritted her teeth.

"If I had listened to you, If I had listened to Edward... the kids wouldn't have even been in that fire in the first place" She said as she pulled her legs to her chest and hugged them.

"We understand that you left the burner running and that's how the-" Twilight was stopped by Pinkie Pie as she put a hand on her shoulder causing Twilight to stop and turn around at the mare who had a serious expression on her face as she nodded no.

Twilight quickly shut up and stopped talking as she looked backed to her friend.

"I even caused trouble through the town... I bet a lot of folks are mad at me right now" Applejack said as she put her head down on her knee.

Twilight was about to say something else but felt another tug as it was now Applebloom this time.

"We should let mah sis rest" The filly said as Twilight nodded okay and the girls began saying there good byes.

Once everyone left Applejack curled up in a ball and sighed as she laid there.

"Why didn't I just listen" The mare said as she closed her eyes and felt sleep take her.

Edward Elric

Ed was walking back to his apartment with a bag of apples that granny gave him before he left for helping out the apple family in there time of need, he also still had on a ripped shirt as Sweetie Belle came along to make sure the human was doing okay. Sweetie kept inspecting the human as they walked along, checking his back and front while annoying Ed a little. It got to the point where other pony's in the street starting whispering among each other as he walked along.

"That's him isn't it?!"

"I heard he's not a pony"

"They say he took out two stallions within 10 seconds flat"

"I wonder if he had anything to do with the fire?"

This is why Ed wanted to keep to himself, he didn't like attention, not ever since school. Ed just sighed before Sweetie spoke up.

"Why are they talking about you Ed?" The filly asked as Ed shrugged.

"I lit a fire and it grew, now everyone can see me" Ed said as he walked even faster trying to get back to the apartment faster now.

"What?!" Was all Sweetie said before jogging to catch up to the human.

Ed and Sweetie arrived at the apartment 5 minutes later.

As Ed walked through the gate and up to the door he called out for M.

"M!" He shouted hoping the ghost heard him.

"What are you doing Ed?" Sweetie Belle asked as she looked at the human confused.

"Calling my ghost" Ed said as looked to Sweetie and ginned. He suddenly felt a sudden hit from the back of his head.

"I'm nobody's ghost hmpf" M said as she hovered to Ed's side after hitting him.

"Hey M" Ed chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Let me guess you need the door unlocked?" M asked as Ed shook his head.

Ed clapped his hands together and put his head downward as he pleaded. "Sorry I'll ask the Princess for a key as soon as possible"

M sighed "Jeez you better be lucky I like you Ed" The ghost said before she floated away towards the door.

"Thanks" Ed smiled as he put his hands back to his side and then looked at Sweetie who was even more confused.

"Ed are you okay?" The filly asked as she went to Ed and put a hand on his forehead.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Ed asked confused as to why the filly was asking him such a question. Was it because of the fire earlier or- oh wait he knew why.

"Okay hold on" Ed said as he held one finger up gesturing her to wait a second.

"M you got another friend you can make here" Ed said out loud as the ghost opened the door and came floating out.

"Really? You don't mean this filly here right?" M said sounding a little unsure.

"Well she's good hearted and somebody I trust like Derpy so yeah she's good" Ed smiled as he turned to the filly.

"I still don't understand what's going on Ed?" Sweetie said even more confused than before.

"Don't worry, just know that there is a ghost that lives here" Ed said as he walked past M and entered the apartment.

"But... ghost aren't real" Sweetie said as she looked around.

"That's what you think" M said as she smiled and floated through the filly causing her to shiver.

Sweetie suddenly felt a little scared and quickly made her way inside of the apartment as M just giggled.

Home

"Welcome to Home Sweetie Belle" Ed said as he sensed the filly walk in behind him. He turned around and held his hand out showing her the living room.

Sweetie looked as she saw that the inside was just a little better than the outside. The paint on the walls were beginning to fade and most of the furniture was in decent shape. She didn't comment on the outside but at least the inside was okay.

"This is where your living?" She asked as the human nodded.

"Yeah, this is were I'll be staying until I can get a job I guess" Ed said as he walked walked towards the stairs as Sweetie followed.

"You say that like you don't wanna stay" A voice said up the stairs.

Ed already knew who it was and sighed. He looked up he saw Octavia standing there leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"Octavia Sweetie Belle, Sweetie Belle Octavia" Ed said quickly introducing each other as he walked past the mare.

Octavia was just about to say something but Sweetie Belle butted in.

"Hello Octavia it's a pleasure to meet you" Sweetie said bowing to the mare.

Octavia smiled a little at this and bowed back. "A pleasure it is Sweetie Belle"

Ed was already coming back with a new shirt on and a jacket as well as he walked past the mare again.

"Alright were leaving, by-" Ed was interrupted with a door to the face as it suddenly opened in front of Ed.

Derpy poked her head out and saw Octavia and a little filly hanging out in the hall.

"Hey Octavia who's your friend?" Derpy said as she walked out of her room and closed the door, totally missing the human standing there.

"This is Sweetie Belle" Octavia explained as the filly nodded.

"It's a pleasure to meet you" Sweetie said in her polite tone.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, my name is Ditzy, but you can call me Derpy if you'd like" The pegasus said smiling at the little filly.

Ed finished rubbing his nose and turned to the three ponies. "Alright if were done me and Sw-"

"What's everypony doing up here?" Somepony said as Ed recognized who it was and sensed more ponies coming up the stairs.

Ed looked and saw Vinyl, Cheerilee and Berry Punch coming up the stairs.

Ed sighed. "I don't have time for this" Ed thought to himself as he looked back towards his room.

"Who's this?" Berry Punch asked soberly.

"One of your friends?" Vinyl asked looking among the group.

"Sweetie Belle what are you doing here?" Cheerliee asked as she instantly recognized her student.

"Hey Ms. Cheerliee!" The filly said excited to see her teacher.

"I came here with Ed too make sure he was okay" Sweetie said as she looked around but saw that the human wasn't there anymore.

"Okay...? Why did something happen to him?" Derpy asked as she became worried.

"Well..." Sweetie thought back to what Ed said about not telling anypony about what happened in the burning house. But that didn't mean she couldn't tell them about how he came and rescued her and her friends.

Edward Elric

Ed ran among the roofs of Ponyville as he made his way to Sweet Apple Acres. He slowed down at times to take a look at his location so that he would know which way is the faster route. The ponies down on the street where oblivious to the human on the roofs as he jumped from one to the next. Ed neared the forest which led to the farm and slowed down as he approached the last roof in sight. He came to a stop at the edge of the rood and looked out to Sweet Apple Acres. He couldn't see the farm from here from all the trees but he could see red from the apple trees he could see. He jumped down and started making his way towards the path.

He checked his pocket watch and read 8 o'clock as Ed walked towards the farm. He thought back to what happened earlier that day just a couple of hours ago. He had died but then somehow survived through this power inside him. He knew he wasn't dreaming from all the pain he was in and the smoke he smelled as he constantly felt his eyes burning. What was this power, what did it have to do with his watch, what exactly is going on.

He pushed his own problems aside and thought of Applejack. The mare had to harvest all these apples by herself because her brother was already in the hospital with a broken leg. And with what he heard from Pinkie Pie this harvest usually pays of their taxes and such for the land. With no one to do it who else is there? AJ and her brother were out. Applebloom and Granny Smith can't do it. That meant that someone else would have to do it.

As Ed neared the farm he sighed as he looked at all the apple trees their were to get and sighed.

"Well at least it's better than surviving on a dam island" Ed said to himself as he stopped in front of the fence to the farm.

"If only you were here teach, if only you were here" Ed thought before setting his jacket down on the fence and nearing the first tree.

"Pinkie said that taxes are due by the end of tomorrow, so I got till, tomorrow morning" Ed said as he gave a long sigh.

"Better get started"

2 o'clock in the morning

Ed had lost count after it hit around midnight and was sweating like crazy even though it was cold out. He moved on to the next tree after collecting all the apples from the last one and quickly kicked it making the apples fall into basket below. Ed had to pick up the few that didn't make it in and had to repeat this action many times. He was done with another tree and started moving towards the next before hearing a familiar voice.

"Why do you tire yourself out for a mare who has caused so much trouble" Moonlight asked.

Ed didn't even bother to sense her as he chuckled. "Just being nice I suppose" He said as he kicked another tree.

"But what purpose does that serve? Do you want a reward? Do you want to be the hero?" She asked as Ed began picking up the fallen apples.

"I doing it because I want to" Ed said as he made his way towards another tree, He wasn't tired but he was getting slower that was for sure.

"I don't understand" Moonlight said causing Ed to stop and enjoy the cool breeze.

Ed took a second before responding to the invisible mare. "Your right... I don't understand either"

Ed turned to where he thought the mare stood and looked at her. "But I do know that when somebody needs help, you just don't stand by and watch, you don't wait for something to happen, you help"

Moonlight sighed. "Right now it looks like you need help"

Ed chuckled "I got a few more hours, I think I can get a few-" Ed stopped talking as he looked at the rest of the apple trees he had to get and found that they were already harvested.

Ed turned back to where he thought the mare was. "How did you-" Ed felt a finger touch his forehead and suddenly fell asleep.

Moonlight laid him on the nearest apple tree and levitated his jacket on top of him.

"Sleep well Edward Elric, I hope to see you again soon" Luna said as she teleported away leaving Ed alone to sleep in the apple field

Short Chapter which I liked a little, felt a little rushed but I liked it.
