Ed woke up in a cold sweat. He was dreaming about the night he walked home and was shot by a couple of thugs. Eyes barely open, he stared at the ceiling and put a hand on his chest to feel his heart beat racing as every second passed by. Suddenly it occurred to him that something was off, more like missing perhaps. Ed took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as he sat up and rubbed his eyes still half asleep.

Ed froze as he eyed his chest...

His chest was perfectly fine. Which bothered him a lot because last time he remembered he had a bullet hole there with blood pouring down his body. Ed started to touch his chest up and down searching for any signs of a injury or scar but no luck. He was shot in the back if his memory served him right and tried there, reaching behind his back in hope of finding something. But not a single trace on his body that felt like he was recently shot or even looked like he was shot at all.

“What are you doing if I may ask?” said a mysterious voice near him

Ed looked pretty stupid right now with one hand touching his chest and the other on his back looking weird. It only worsened when Ed screamed like a little girl and jumped 10 feet high, landing on his back with a loud thud.

“Oh my I didn't think someone so short could jump so high” the voice said laughing a little

Ed's eye twitched, he didn't like when people made fun about his shortness or even laughed at him for it. His mood switched from confused to full blown pissed off in a matter of seconds. Ed jumped up onto his feet and turned to face who ever owned the voice.

“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING SHORT YA FRICKIN-” Ed stopped when he realized who... or what he was talking to.

There sat a white human-like lady with wings a horn and a golden crown with a tail too. Who ever she was, she wasn't human but sure did look like one. She looked like royalty too, and no matter how you looked at it, yelling at someone who might be the Princess of a powerful empire wasn't really a wise thing to do...... Well unless she laughed at you and called you short but now wasn't really the time for Ed to start any trouble.

Ed cleared his throat and straightened his back.

“Um.. Sorry for yelling at you uh... your highness, I get a little heated when people call me short” he said rubbing his head looking down at the floor.

The woman smiled at this gesture and simply waved her hand “Do not worry Edward Elric I understand”

This gave Ed a nervous feeling. “ How do you know my name” he said a little to quickly

The woman grabbed something off the table next to her and held it between her fingers showing him. It was his ID, he looked at the table beside her and spotted the rest of his belongings that he had on the night he was shot, it even had a few specs of blood that were probably his. This made Ed very nervous and it began to show on his face as he stepped back a foot ready to run.

She saw this and quickly replied “It was important that I looked through your personal belongings because I didn't know if you were a threat to my subjects and I didn't know or not if that blood was yours or somebody else's”

This made Ed a little mad but less nervous to know that there was a reason she had his stuff. He still didn't trust her but decided to play it safe and ask a if her he was still a threat.

“Am I still a possible a threat to your subjects your highness?” he asked

She tilted her head and thought for a while before she answered. “Well that all depends on you doesn't it, Mr. Edward” the woman got up from her seat and walked towards him. Ed froze up not knowing what she would do but when she reached him she simply stood there and stared him in the eye.

“If you are a threat you will be taken into custody and thrown into a cell with no key to unlock it” she said with a dead panned face.

“And if your aren't then you will become a citizen of Equestria” she said smiling

Ed blinked a few times then spoke “What?”

The woman flinched as if realizing something. “....Listen Edward I need you to sit down for a second...”

Ed nodded and walked back to the bed and sat down.

The lady sighed and her horned started to glow and the chair she sat in levitated to her.

Ed's eyes widened and his mind couldn't comprehend what he just saw. He looked at the lady seating in front of him and saw her face was still with sadness.

“Look... Ed.... Your a long way from home...”

Princess Celestia started with her name and explained that he was in the world of Equestria and that the inhabitants here are called “Ponies”. They were similar to his kind from what he could tell, but these “Pony's” had light coats of fur and were referred to as “stallions” and “mares”. She said that she and her sister “Luna” were rare pony's called “Alicorns” and that they ruled over Equestria together side by side. She got straight to the point on how he got to this world and explained that her student had been working on a new type of magic and accidentally teleported him here and that when he arrived he was bleeding out from a severe wound in the chest. He was immediately teleported to the medical room to be operated on but they couldn't stop the bleeding because the wound spread throughout his insides and was impossible to operate on without magic. Celestia said that she was going to use her magic to try and close up the wound but the damage inside was too much and that he was beyond saving. That’s when her student stepped up and said that she would heal him despite what the Princess said. Her student ultimately saved his life and that he has been asleep for 12 hours since.

Ed just sat there letting every word the Princess said rest in his mind. He didn't move or speak. He just sat there thinking. He wasn't home anymore, wasn't on Earth. The place he grew up on and lived on, the place where his family's home was and always would be. But something clicked, he died back on his home and somebody here in this world had saved him. He wouldn't had made it to the hospital back on Earth and no one probably wouldn't have even come out of there homes nearby to help him. Instead he was saved by somebody here in Equestria, somebody who didn't even know him, much less have anything to gain from saving him. Ed didn't know what he felt but all he could say right now was that he was touched at the sheer kindness of this person's actions...

“Hey Celestia” he said head down

“Yes Edward?” she said with a pint of worry in her voice

“Can I meet this student of yours?” he asked raising his head smiling bright

Celestia was about to object because she thought that he would be angry at her student for taking him away from his home but with the smile on his face now she wasn't sure if she should be worried or happy.

She thought it over for a second and nodded

“She's in the Royal Chambers, come I'll bring you to her” she said walking towards the door.

Ed got up and followed her out the room and to the chambers.

-5 minutes later-

Celestia stopped walking and said “This is it”.

Ed close behind her saw that the doors to the room where pretty fancy. Which meant that the “royal” part to the “chambers” weren't just for show.

Celestia walked up to the door and knocked a few times before getting a answer.

“COME IN” a voice said on the other side.

Celestia opened the door and walked in as Ed did the same. The room was full of charts and diagrams that strangely looked like him. Walking more into the room they actually looked like him and his belongings, no they were him and his belongings. Every diagram was detailed to the last bit and every chart descriptive in every way possible. He was impressed with the amount of work put into all this and in only 12 hour time or maybe even less. He drew his attention to a light purple mare with purple hair and pink highlights and a horn working on something at her desk. Ed slowly walked behind her and looked over her shoulder too see what she was working on. The purple mare was tinkering with his pocket watch which was pretty cute because she couldn't get it open.

Ed leaned over her shoulder and said “ If you want to open it, this button right here unlocks after you turn it counter-clock wise” pointing at one parts. The purple mare looked closer at the part and turned it, and to her surprise it actually turned.

“Whoa” she levitated a scroll and quill and started to right notes in a matter of seconds. She stopped a second and nodded as if confirming something and put the scroll and quill down and stared at the watch. She looked deep in thought and was going to press the button but realized that someone had just told her how to open it.

She turned her head and asked “How did you know-” before she stopped and answered her own question realizing who it was that told her.

Ed simply smiled and waved hi as he leaned on a wall nearby and watched her put the pieces together in her mind.

Celestia came to her students side and put a hand on her shoulder to let her know that she was there.

“Edward Elric, this is my student Twilight Sparkle” she said as Twilight put down the watch and rose to her feet to greet him

Ed walked toward twilight and held out his hand “Its a pleasure to you Miss Sparkle”

Twilight looked at his hand for a second then snapped back to reality and shook his hand.

“Oh, It's a pleasure you meet you too Edward and Twilight is just fine thank you” she said smiling

She still had her hand wrapped in his and didn't notice as she kept looking at him as she spaced off.

“Um... Twilight” Ed said as he felt his palm's getting sweaty

Twilight blinked and looked down to see her hand still holding on to his and let go blushing as she did

“Sorry Sorry, It's just that I've never seen your species before in any books”she rubbed her arm as she looked down on the floor trying not to look at his face then realized something.

“That reminds me” she looked up with a passive face “What are you?”

“I'm a human” Ed said answering her question

“Human...” Twilight said as he let the word seep into her mind

“How do you spell that?” she said a scroll and quill levitating in mid air.

Celestia butted in “Twilight don't you have to meet your friends back in Ponyville for lunch” she said with a motherly tone that would bring any child to attention

Twilight paused then face palmed “Oh my gosh that's right” she said in a worried tone

Twilight reached into her pocket and brought out her phone to check the time but didn't get a chance to as Celestia said “Its 8:23”

Ed glanced at the Princess who strangely enough didn't have a watch on her and over all had her eyes closed as she said it.

Twilight nodded and put back her phone and turned to look at the Princess.

“But Princess Celestia what about Edward” she said looking at her teacher

Celestia eyes still closed was already thinking about something and came to a solution as her eyes opened with a sparkle in them.

“Edward Elric, please stand” she said in a serious voice

Ed immediately stood before Celestia with his back straight.

Celestia looked into the eyes of his with a quiet seriousness that came when something important was about to happen.

“It is too my knowledge that you have arrived to Equestria with no knowledge of this land and no experience of the life-style here as well”

Ed nodded

“Therefore you are not fit to be a citizen of Equestria” she smiled “Just yet anyway”

Ed didn't know what she meant but stayed quiet because he knew he would soon find out.

“Twilight Sparkle, please stand” Twilight stood before Celestia with her back straight next to Ed

“As bearer of the Element of Magic, and personal student of mine, I feel as though it is time to give you another task to handle”

Twilight nodded with a hint of excitement in her eye

“The task is for you too help Edward Elric adjust to Equestra life while he stays with you in Ponyville with the other Elements of Harmony”

Twilight’s eyes widened and she nodded at the task she was given

Ed just said “huh?” while tilting his head

Celestia turned to look at Edward and gently smiled “Edward it has come to my attention that you are not from this world and may wish to return but there is no spell that I know of that can get you back”

Ed was about to say something but immediately stopped as Celestia held up a hand

“But that does not mean that the spell doesn't exist, Twilight teleported you here on accident which means that you can probably be teleported back but not the same way she did it”

Ed started to get the gist of what she was saying “So you want me to adjust to the life here because I may be staying here for a while, correct?” he said hoping he got it right

Celestia smiled and said “More or less”

Ed nodded and said “Okay then, I'll go with Twilight to live in Ponyville” he said smiling

Twilight jumped in the air yelling “YES” but then realized that she did that out loud instead of in her mind and started to blush.

Celestia and Ed both looked at Twilight for the random outburst which only made Twilight redden even more.

“Imgoingogetmystuffberightback” and puff she was gone in a flash as she teleported to her room to get her belongings.

Ed just blinked as the mare had just disappeared in mid air and thought

“I swear if this place has a talking dragon I'll fricking kiss my logic goodbye”

He snapped back to reality and remembered that he needed to gather his stuff as well if they were going to leave soon. He turned to the table where Twilight sat and picked up his pocket watch and put it in his pants. Upon further inspection he needed clothes, because the pants he had on know had a few spots of blood on it and he needed a shirt and some shoes too.

“Hey Celestia” he said as he turned to look at her “Is there any chance that you may have some clothes for my size”

Celestia smiled “I already had them sewn and ready in the drawer back In the guest room” She closed her eyes and opened them again “But since your going to be leaving in a half a hour or so I might as well teleport us there just to save time”

“Wait what?” was all Ed said before he felt a split second of falling and suddenly appeared in the same room he woke up in.

Ed felt like he was going to throw up but held it in as he glared at Celestia and he barely stood on two feet

Celestia saw the expression on his face and could tell that he was having a hard time keeping his stomach from throwing anything up.

She smiled and levitated the clothes out of the drawer and laid it out for him on the bed.

She then grabbed his stuff on the desk nearby and said “Hey Edward I’m going to clean these up real quick, do you think you need anything before I leave”

He thought for a second about some medicine but he knew he would be fine. He then remembered how Twilight had pulled out a touch phone to check the time and had a idea.

“Yes actually, do you think can somehow get my phone to work without erasing any of the stuff on it so I can call and text... you know with magic and stuff” he said to the Princess

Celestia thought about it and said “I'll see what I can do” before teleporting away to give the man his privacy.

Ed took out his watch and laid it on the bed as he began to dress. The outfit Celestia gave him wasn't half bad and actually looked pretty dam cool as he looked in a nearby mirror checking how he looked.

Ed put the watch back in his pocket and looked around the room to see if he could find some way to contact Celestia but was soon interrupted as the Princess herself popped in behind him and scared him 10 feet up in the air landing on the floor again with a loud thud.

Celestia was gonna start laughing before Ed got up and said “Don't you dare you laugh or call me short again you got that” as he stared down Celestia who was trying really hard not to laugh.

Edward sighed “Please tell me you somehow got my phone to work” he said feeling tired already.

“Not only that but I got the blood stains out of your stuff and here's your new ID” she said as she handed him a card with his picture on it that he took for his driver's test but had a different description on it that said -Edward Elric- -Under Royal Protection- -Human- and looked like one of those premium cards that rich people get that was platinum gold or something.

Ed guessed it was for the best if he just kept it with him because it would probably come in handy one day. He got his other stuff from Celestia like his wallet, his keys and lastly his phone.

“I haven't tested it yet but it should work just like any phone but with slight tweaks here and there” Celestia said proud of her work as she smiled

“Thanks Celestia” he said as he smiled back and put the phone away in his pocket.

Celestia closed and opened her eyes again and said “It's time to leave if you wish to fly to Ponyville in time to meet the other Elements”

“.............Flying?”

So I redid the chapter because I felt like I could make it better so I did :3

The costume design is being drawn right now so you can get a better look at Ed's clothes and such

I took some suggestion's from the old chapter and use it here to make it to people liking so tell me how I did ^_^

Also I didn't have any of my editor's read it so its not going to be perfect ok ;__; because and I qoute "Were only Human"
