The night was cold but warm as Ed sat near the fire. His watch was in his hand as he let it hang from its chain as he rested his arm on his knee sitting down. By his other hand was the stick he used to move the wood around and beside that was the gun. Ed had ventured a little into the forest before coming to a decision to wait it out somewhere safe till dawn. Luckily Ed still remembered the forest like the back of his hand from when he was just a kid and went to a nearby cave not to far from the beach. If he was going to find out why he was here he would either have to wait till morning or wait till someone saw the smoke and came looking for it. He put the campfire right at the edge of the cave and a safe distance from the trees. He didn't want the smoke entering the cave as it was his only exit plan if someone were to actually come and it wasn't a pleasant surprise.

Ed sat their thinking with many thoughts on his mind as he reached for the stick and poked the fire with it moving some of the bigger sticks around. Why was he here, did the pirates capture him and he managed to somehow escape? Is this all a dream and was he left here to suffer on this dreaded island again. Or was this fate telling him that he had one last thing to do for the island before he left it again. Ideas everywhere were flying in and out of his mind as he put every possible theory to test and solution to mind. But nothing explained why he was there. But their was something that kept ringing in the back of his mind. Something that kept itching deep inside of his head. As he felt himself become tired he looked up to the moon before hearing the words.

"Hello Elric"

Outside the Simulator

"Sister, we have a problem"

Princess Celestia looked between her younger sister and the images before seeing it. In a scenario were she would worry about Ed she would immediately stop the simulator, but in this case.

"Leave her, I want to see what she does and how Ed reacts to her"

Edward Elric

Ed blinked before slowly lowering his head and then freezing as he stared at whatever he saw before him. There sitting beside him on a rock with black fur and blue unique looking armor was some unicorn / pegasus as the creature had both wings and a horn. It was a she as Ed noticed the face structure and the rather large breast the lady was carrying along with the curvy hips. She almost looked human except for some little tweaks like fur and structure but overall she looked beautiful for whatever she was. She stared at him with her teal colored eyes and a curious look as Ed noticed that her hair was also sparkly like a aura hanging about.

"Do you know who I am?" She asked.

Ed just simply shook his head no as he looked the lady still wondering what she was. She was obviously part pony telling from both body parts she had but he didn't know what type. He let it go as he looked back to the fire wondering if he was crazy or not and if she was really there or just a figment of his imagination.

"I am surprised at how calm you are, very well, my name is Nightmare Moon" The lady said as Ed pondered on the name for a while before frowning.

"Nightmare Moon sounds to evil a name for someone so beautiful like you, how about... Night" Ed said looking to the mare and seeing the blush appear on her face causing him to grin.

"Still got it" Ed said to himself as he chuckled before he looked back to the fire and moved some of the sticks around.

"What can I do for you Night" Ed asked as he managed to get one of the bigger pieces to move.

"I'm just here to ask some questions if you don't mind" Night said as she got relaxed on her rock.

Ed just simply nodded. "Go right ahead but I want one question in return when your done"

Night looked a little puzzled at the humans sudden cooperation and request but then shrugged as she stood up and began walking around.

"What is your name?" She began.

"Edward Elric"

"How old are you?

"20"

"Do you have any family members?"

"No"

"Do you have any friends?"

"No"

"What happened to them?"

"They all died"

Nightmare Moon paused at this as she remembered him saying that he lost his friends and family, she didn't for one second think that they were actually gone gone. She felt bad for asking him these questions but wanted to help Ed somehow so here she was asking away.

"Did you kill any of them?" She asked as the question was in her mind but accidentally blurted it out. She was going to say something else but was cut off as he responded.

"I've only killed one of them, but to be honest... I have that one and two other deaths on my hands" Ed said as he gave a blank look at the fire.

Nightmare wasn't sure what he meant so she asked.

" Sorry but I don't really like talking about this to anyone, even if your part of my imagination or something I still don't like talking about it"

Nightmare just stood there by the fire before nodding and understanding if he didn't want to talk about it.

"I'm sorry for asking these questions... If you'll excuse me" She said as she turned and began to disappear.

"Wait"

She stopped herself from exiting the simulator as she heard the human speak.

"Yes?" She asked wondering what he could want as she turned back to him.

"My one question" He simply answered making the mare remember the little deal they made.

She cleared her throat as she felt embarrassed about forgetting such a little thing.

"Very well, the question then?" She asked as she looked at Ed.

Ed stopped poking the fire as he thought of his question before feeling the ringing in the back of his mind again. He smiled as he had no idea what he was asking.

"Who is... Twilight Sparkle..." Ed asked as Nightmare Moon suddenly became wide eyed.

Outside the Simulator

"But that's not-!?" Luna blurted out as she snapped out of her sad trance after hearing Ed's answers.

Everypony else snapped back to reality as well as some had tears in their eyes and the few that truly knew Ed just smiled.

"I thought you said he couldn't be able to remember anything?" Celestia asked causing Luna to panic.

"He shouldn't!? I just tried right now to erase your students name from his memory but it didn't work, it's like he's refusing to forget it" Luna exclaimed.

Twilight Sparkle on the other hand felt her heart beat a little faster at this news. Shining Armor just smirked at this knowledge while the mom and dad of Twilight grinned ear to ear at this news. The moment was interrupted as Celestia barked some orders.

"Pull Nightmare out now, she's going to ruin everything!" She said semi-loud.

"First you want her to stay now you want her to leave, make up your mind" Luna said as she messed around with the simulator.

Edward Elric

"Twilight Sparkle is-"

And then she was gone, Ed just blinked before getting up and walking to the spot she faded from to try to see if she was till there as he swung his arm around place she stood. He did that for a good couple of seconds before sighing.

"Maybe I am losing it" He said to himself as he threw his own stick in the fire as he wanted to get a least a couple of hours of sleep when the fire died.

Outside the Simulator

"Well that was close" Celestia said as she folded her arms letting a breath out.

"Princess whats the point of this test?"

Handcuffed and sitting on the ground were two sisters, both assassins from what Ed and the two mare themselves told them. Except one was an outcast for not killing kids supposedly.

Lily was the one to speak. "All we know now is that he's friends and family are dead, and he's 20 years old, oh and his name is Edward Elric" Lily said the last part with a little sass as she wasn't too happy that she was tied up.

Celestia just gave a cold stare causing Daisy to freeze up but Lily just to roll her eyes getting a glare from everyone else in the room. Lily noticed and just scoffed.

"Oh bite me" She said rudely huffing a bit.

While no one liked going the way the assassin was treating Celestia she did have a point. It was Lyra from her group with Pinkie Pie, Octavia and Granny Smith that spoke up.

"What is this test supposed to accomplish your highness?"

Derpy stepped up from sitting as she spoke next.

"Ed's a good pony, he rescued me from bullies once and beat them up" Derpy said trying to sound serious but only ended up sounding cute instead.

"He's rescued me" Spitfire stood up.

"And me" Trixie followed as she stood up as well.

"Let's not forget our sister's" Applejack said getting Rarity and Rainbow Dash to nod as well.

Celestia just looked at all the pony's Ed had by his side and also counted the little Diamond Tiara filly as she was probably one of the hardest saves Ed has done if she was correct. But then again their was one more pony who Ed rescued that beat them all.

"And I owe him my life"

All the pony's turned their attention to the pony who spoke. And boy was everyone shocked. Twilight looked, as her brother stood up and gave a serious look as he eyed Celestia. He wasn't happy that Ed was in this simulator he would have switched spots with him gladly but couldn't as this was his test and not his own. Twilight was confused as was her parents as they began to ask questions but was only denied answers as Shining spoke.

"If you want to know then ask Ed sometime, it's a story that I remember everyday of my life but if anyone's gonna know it I want Ed to be there when I tell it" Shining said stern and proud.

Twilight just gave up on trying to figure out what had happened and turned back to Celestia as she asked her the question.

"So back to the question, what is-"

"Celestia we have a problem!" Luna yelled as everyones attention went back to the images and Celestia went to Luna.

"What's wrong, is he waking up!?" Celestia asked worried.

"That's not it! I can't control the simulator anymore!" Luna said as she used her magic to try to pull Ed out but only got shocked in return sending her stumbling back into Celestia.

Celestia quickly caught her sister and helped her regain her balance as the younger Princess grunted.

"Gah! I can't even shut it down!?" Luna said as she rubbed her head from the shock.

Everyone looked at the images as they were really gonna see what Ed was capable of.

Ladies and Gents, I have had the worst winter break, followed by other dumb things which led me to put the whole story on hold but alas I am back. Don't worry no one died while I was gone, if anything I had to kick my brothers drunk ass to the grass and some other people too. :3

But if anything I am back and sorry for the delay.
