Prologue: An Incredibly Dramatic Opening
Darkness, that's all he saw when he was walking, just a pitch eerie black. "Where is she?! I must find her! Where is she when you need her?!" he thought frantically to himself as he sought to look for his person of desire in this place of nothingness.
He wanders around in this blackness in a mindless walk, aimlessly looking for what can only be found here in the dream state of his mind. As he's walking around, he suddenly hears the frantic sound of multiple voices shouting at once behind him, they sounded like they were a million miles away yet they were like they were right there next to him.
"We're losing him fast!" one voice shouted
"His heart rate and blood pressure are steadily dropping!" said another
"Give me a two hundred volt charge on the respirator STAT and one hundred ccs' of adrenaline!!" a clear male voice shouted out, a frantic reply from one of the other people around him that sounded like a "Yes doctor!"
He looked around abit for a second, confused as to why doctors would be shouting like that to him but then he suddenly remembered that this was only his dream state and that his real self should be on the way to the ER on a stretcher bed lead by a group of doctors and nurses. His eyes went wide in fear as he started backing away slowly then stopped and broke into into a full on run in the direction he was heading, screaming to himself. "No, not yet, I can't wake up yet, I still need to find her!' His mind was in an absolute panic as he continued to search for the person he came to look for before the doctors could revive him.
"Please, please show yourself! I must go back, there's nothing left for me there anymore!" he shouted into the darkness before he felt himself collapse hard onto the floor from a sudden pain in his chest.
He laid there on the ground, his breaths coming out short and shallow and his chest feeling like it was hit directly with a sledge hammer by a professional body builder who swings sledge hammers for fun "Damn...the hell just me...?" he wheezed out, wincing as he shakily stood back up onto his feet, his entire body feeling all tingly and numb, like it was threatening to give out from under him.
He brought a hand up to his chest to try and numb the pain just a little, but he sees that it was starting to blink kinda like a light bulb does when its about to burn out. He looked down notices that its also happening to every part of his body, his body blinking like fog caught in flashing stage lights. It took him a moment to realize that he was starting to fade out of the dream state and back into the real world , indicating that he was running out of time and fast. Back in the real world, his body jumped from the high voltage charge, but his heart rate is till at a low and is steadily but surely, starting to rise up again.
"Its not enough, we need to hit him again, a five hundred volt charge should do it!" one of the doctors shouted out.
The other doctor in the room contemplates his assistants decision as he thinks about how the spiked up charge might be to much and may accidentally kill him instead of restarting his heart. He lets out a worried sigh but decides that his worries should come second to saving a patients life, so he nods towards the nearest nurse and says "Prepare the five hundred volt charge and just in case, keep the adrenaline shot on stand by," The nurse nods and prepares the defibrillator and the shot "May God look upon this man and judge him for his actions today instead of the past." the doctor silently prayed to himself as their patient is rolled into ER.
A doctor picks up the two charged handle and presses them against the mans barely rising chest "CLEAR!" He shouted as once again his patients body is hit with a high amount of electricity to try and restart the mans heart.
"No please not yet...I still need to find her..." he panted out from his short breaths as he groaned in pain, his knees buckling under him from the pain in his chest and the fact that his strength was starting to fade away along with his body. Tears filled his eyes like a flood and poured down like rainstorm. "I couldn't find her in time...she wasn't there when I needed it...just like I wasn't for the people who needed me..." he thought to himself as he collapsed to the floor from another painful jolt shooting through his body like lightning is running through his veins.
He lays there on the ground, his strength stolen away by the fact that he was fading back into consciousness but he somehow musters enough strength to cry his eyes out in a defeated manner right there on the spot where he laid "I'm so sorry everypo-" he whispered to himself but never got to finish for he passed out on the cold dark ground and is just about finished up fading back into the real world and his old body and life again, but before he completely faded away from the dream state, a few more tears rolled down his cheeks and splashed onto the ground. Suddenly a bright light shines through the darkness like an oasis in the desert and forms around his nearly unconscious and faded body. Next to his face, his eyes can barely make out the dim shape of a crescent moon surrounded by night sky forming in the bright light. "C-Could it be...? Is it really her coming to call me back again..? he mumbles out excitedly with tears of happiness now streaming down his face as he then passed out with a relieved smile on his lips. Then, just like a heavy weight over water, he starts to sink through the ground and disappear from his dream like state to the other place that awaits him through the other side, where he has no intentions of leaving again while taking his remaining life force and conscious with him through the portal of light as well.
Meanwhile, back in a patients room in the ER of a hospital, his body jolted from under the voltage charge of the defibrillator, but it still wasn't enough. True his heart rate did increase little but it was quickly falling down again, even faster this time as his conscious and life force was sucked out of his body and into the portal where his dream self was pulled into. His body lets out one more silent breath of life before it slumps farther into the bed, his eyes close for the last time in his life but there was a peaceful upon his lips, and the heart rate monitor slowing down its beeping till it finally lets out its long dreaded bbbbbbeeeeeeeeppppp . The team of doctors and nurses turn away from the sight of the now deceased man with looks of absolute grief and anger with themselves for not being able to save him from his fatal wounds. Tears swell up in their eyes and drip down their cheeks as they cry quietly to themselves and say their silent prayers for his soul that is now in the afterlife, or so they think. The lead doctor turns off the heart rate monitor to stop its annoying and now angering long beep sound and casted the room in a dark and saddening feeling as they all sniff and wipe their tears away. The head doctor turns to look back at his team with the same saddened and grief filled look as the others have then speaks in a shaky and heartbroken voice "A-as all of you can see, we failed to save the patients life in time.... I want you all to know that none of this was your fault.... You all pulled an amazing effort and did the very best you could...you should be proud of that." he said, trying to find light in this very dark and gloomy time, but it was obvious the loss of the patient hit them very hard.
The doctors loaded up the mans body into a body bag and had it moved to the morgue so the family can come and decide what they will do with it and possibly talk about which undertaker they should visit. For the doctors, nurses and the family, it was the loss of a life of a loved one, but for the man, it was the birth of a new one, a fresh start. As his conscious and life was pulled from the world he left, he felt himself being transformed into the being he felt like he was supposed to be. His shimmering body was changing as he fell through, the bright glow still enveloping him as he changed, his hands and feet turning into hooves, and on his head he felt his cranial structure change as a horn grew on his head and changed into the structure of a pony. As he was falling, his body was no longer shimmering and began taking on a solid shape of a pony, where his skin grew fur and his hair extended and changed color while a tail also grew bearing the same colors. It felt
