Chapters It's Your Birthday Again!
You wake one morning to the sound of your annoying alarm clock. With a smile on your face you slam your fist down on its surface and happily jump out of bed. The blinds were closed this time, so you weren't blinded by the sun's unforgiving rays. You do a quick stretch with a content smile on your face as you quickly and fully wake up. The lazily painted walls don't bother you anymore. In fact, the paint could be chipping and the walls could be crumbling around you and you wouldn't care any less. You rush into the bathroom and get your teeth brushed and your hair combed before jumping back into your bedroom and getting dressed for the day.
"It's my mother fucking birthday!!" Your voice pounds against the walls and you chuckle, feeling immensely content. Today is your twenty fifth birthday. You and Pin Point had planned a for a special occasion last year and today was that occasion.
DEET DEET DEET
You pull your head down to your digital watch. 8:30 is repeatedly flashing and you a filled with even more joy as your watch has a spaz attack on your wrist.
"Yes!" You rush out into your living room and plop yourself onto the couch. "And now we wait..." You say to yourself. You wait in place for a few seconds before your watch goes off again. 8:34 flashes on the screen. "Cool. She'll be here any second... Oh, wait I forgot about-!
BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
"DAMN IT!!" You scream. But it goes unheard due to the fact that you had forgotten about the mind pounding sounds and blinding lights that came from the portal. The mindboggling sound only intensifies as you burrow yourself further into the couch cushion. You really wish you'd remembered the horrible lights and sounds that came with the portal; you would've stayed our of the room, or at the very least worn some sunglasses!
BANG!! BANG!! BANG!!
The light and sound slowly begin to fade as you regain your sight and hearing.
"Damn it, that's painful!" You complain. The couch gets a break as you lift yourself from it and stumble to the opposite side of the room. "Wall. That's a wall." You blink a few more times and allow your eyes to readjust before you try moving again. After a few seconds you are clearly able to make out your couch, television, and familiar blue and gold pony lying on the floor; she is unconscious, just like both years before; it must be some effect of the portal, you decide. "Alright. It's 8:40. Justin should be over in about twenty minutes. Pin Point!" You shout.
"*snort* Huh?! Wha?" She lifts her head from the floor with half open eyelids. "unnnn.... Five more minutes."
"No, come on. We planned this last year."
"ugh... Alright." She fully stands up and pushes her front hooves out and stretches. You've always thought that was weird; it was like watching a cat stretch. She shakes her head a bit and her mane swishes from side to side, revealing her horn completely. "Okay, so what all are we gonna do?" She asks.
"Well, first..." You smile as you look to your watch. "We have to wait for my buddy Justin to get here. He's bringing over his own pony."
_________
You made friends with another brony, Justin, about a year and a half ago. You were given a group project by your college professor and Justin happened to be part of that group. You guys became friends and eventually Justin showed you a picture that he took during his birthday, which just so happened to be the same as yours. The picture was of a relatively buff stallion. An earth pony with a light caramel brown coat and a Barcelona red mane. Bright blue eyes and a giant smile faced towards the camera and showed happiness in having his picture taken.
"Don't tell anyone." You remember him saying.
"Actually. I have something to show you ."
_________
"When's he getting here?" She asks as she picks her ears for a minute.
"About nine." You reply. You and Pin Point had planned a day to actually leave your house and go explore around a little bit to give Pin Point a little more sense of what Earth was like. Then, when you found Justin in the same situation, you two planned to go together. It seemed like a safer idea going as four instead of two and if no one got hurt, then it would really be a fun time as well.
Pin Point looks to the nearest clock, hanging above your television.
"Damn, an hour ?" She whines.
"Yes, an hour !" You mock. She walks over to your couch, jumps onto it, and circles a couple times before she lays down. She has a content little smile on her face as she breathes lightly. You take note of the bags under her eyes. "Did you sleep at all last night?" You ask.
"*snort* Wha?... oh, yeah... Yeah, I did." She drops her head back down.
"Where you excited or something?"
"Mmhmm..."
"So, was I." You smile. "But I did the smart thing and went to bed early."
"mmmm.... Fug yew...." She mumbles. You chuckle and let her sleep. You figure an hour of sleep would probably do her good. You whip your phone out and call Justin and make sure everything planed is still going on.
"BRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrr.... BRRRRRRrrrrrrrr.... Hello? "
"Hey, Justin, what's up?"
"Hey! Nothin' much, man. Hey, did Pin Point get there yet?"
"Yeah. She stayed up all night, so she's sleeping right now." You say, looking back to her.
"Ha! That's cute... Anyway, Dark already arrived and we should be there around nine, nine thirty. "
"Okay. See ya then."
"Alright. "
Once you're done with the phone call, you flop yourself down on the couch next to Pin Point. You grab the remote and are about to click the television on when you feel Pin Point snuggle up next to you. She has a peaceful smile on her face as she balls herself up, resting her head on your thigh. You place your hand on the top of her head and lightly scratch it. Her ear twitches a bit and she lets out a relaxed sigh.
"This is like having a cat that can do magic, talk, and cuss at you..." You whisper to yourself.
A knocking at your door startles you a little while later. You check your watch quickly and confirm that it is nine o' clock.
"That must be Justin." You say to yourself. You head to your stair case and jog down to the bottom where you swing open the door and greet your friend.
"Hey! What's up, man?" He says.
"Nothing much. How are you?"
"I'm pretty psyched about this!" Justin says with wide eyes. "We just gotta be careful."
"No shit." You say. "Hey, where's Dark?" Justin spins around and you are able to see a large backpack strapped to his shoulders. A familiar looking, brown pony sticks his head out from the bag.
"Wazzup?!" He shouts happily.
"Hey!" You two fist/hoof bump each other. You let Justin and Dark in then close the door before beginning your ascent up the stairs. Once at the top, Justin lets Dark out of the bag and the stallion does a quick stretch.
"Nice place ya got here." Dark says. "Looks a lot like my o-Whoa!" You see his head whip to the side as he eyes Pin Point. "Dude! That's the pony you were assigned?!" He asks me.
"Yeah?"
"Oh, dude. She's hot!" You look back to Pin Point and give a 'meh'.
"I guess she's good looking. But I'm not into ponies , sooo, I wouldn't really know." Dark rolls his eyes.
"She hot. You can take my word for it!" The stallion happily trotts over to the sleeping mare. You turn to Justin and discuss your plans.
"Alright. So you already got our breakfast place picked out?" You ask.
"Yeah. I looked up a Bob Evans on the other side of town."
"Why the fuck is it way over there?!" You demand.
"Hey! You said somewhere secluded and that place is about to go out of business. I think that's pretty secluded!" Justin smiles at you as you try to think of any other place that is closer.
"Fine. But you're paying for gas!" Justin throws his hands half way up and smiles.
"Done." He says.
SMACK
You and Justin flip your heads to the side.
"OW!!" Dark shouts as he stumbles to the ground, clenching his head.
"THE FUCK IS HE STARING AT ME FOR?!?!" Pin Point screams. You laugh as Justin screams at Dark.
"Dark! Back the hell off!" Dark picks himself up off of the floor and slowly walks himself over to his human. Pin Point gets up from the couch and stares at him angrily. This is all very amusing to you, but you hide your smile due to your pony's anger.
"I wake up and this creepy ass is two inches away from my face!" She shouts. Dark rubs the top of his head.
"Okay! We're all here, so let's get going." You shout.
"Yeah." You go to your room and emerge again with a large travel backpack in your hands.
"Pin Point. Climb into this." You drop the bag to the floor and the blue mare climbs inside. Once she is fully in the bag you zip it shut a confirm that she's able to fit entirely. "Alright, good." You let her back out. As she jumps back out of the bag, you head to your room again and come back out with a black hoodie about Pin Point's size. "Lastly, try this on." After a quick minute, you again confirm that everything fits your pony and that you are ready to go.
"Alright, let's go!" Pin Point decrees.
Once the four of you are outside, you lock the door behind you and make your way to your car.
"Oh, wait! I can just teleport us there!" Pin Point volunteers.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Justin says.
"I can do it!" She argues. Dark shows worry.
"You might hurt yourself." He says. Pin Point ignores him and takes a powerful stance in the midst of the group. Her horn lights up and glows very brightly.
"HNNNNNNNNGGGGGG!!!" You hear her grunting. A great flash goes off and you realize that you are about three feet away from your car, instead of the twelve before hand.
"When you said 'teleport us there', did you mean to the restaurant or to the car?" You tease. Pin Point dizzily shakes her head and narrowly avoids smashing her skull into your car door.
"Where did we end up?!" Pin Point demands.
"The parking lot?" You answer.
"Well then, I obviously meant to take us to the parking lot now didn't I?!"
It's Your Birthday Again!
You and your group arrive at Bob Evans without the ponies being spotted. At first you wanted them to either lay on the floor or in the bags, but the rest voted against it. As you pull into the parking lot, you instruct the ponies to climb into their respective back packs. You and Just pull the bags out of the back seats and hoist them over your shoulders before you lock the car doors.
"So, this place is supposed to have good food?" Dark asks as he pokes his head out from his back pack.
"Yeah it's pretty nice." You say as you push Dark head back down into Justin's pack. You all enter the restaurant and patiently wait by the 'Wait to be seated ' sign.
"Smells good in here." Pin Point's muffled voice comes from your backpack. Minutes later, an older blonde woman approaches you at the waiting sign.
"How's everybody doing today?" She asks. She wears the traditional red uniform with Bob Evans embroidered near the pocket on her left breast. A name tag with Susan written on it is on the opposite side.
"Fine, how are you?" You reply.
"I'm great! How about I show you folks to your seats?" She waves for you to follow her and makes her way to your seats enthusiastically. Luckily, you were given a booth towards the back of the eatery, so you had less of a chance of the ponies being seen. You and Justin set the ponies on the inside of the booth just in case. After the bags are down you see the zipper on yours glow blue before flying open.
"*GASP* Holy shit it's hot in here!" Pin Point says. You put your hand on her head and shush her.
"Dude! We're in public right now! And even if they don't see you, they'll hear you and think that we snuck more people in with us." She crouches down back into the bag some.
"Alright, so what are we having to eat?" Dark asks as he sticks his head out of Justin's bag. Justin grabs one of the menus and places it in front of Dark with it open on the breakfast page. He looks over the choices as you hand Pin Point your menu. You and Justin agreed to let the ponies order what they felt comfortable with eating, and you would choose the drinks. In your peripherals, you see the waitress coming back your way.
"Shit!" You shove Pin Point's head back into your bag and Justin quickly catches on, doing the same.
"Alright, are we ready to order?" She asks with a huge smile on her face.
"Uh, yeah..." You say. You lean your head down to your bag. "I'll have the... whisper whisper ... Chocolate chip pancakes and toast." Justin leans his head up to tell the waitress his order. He was most likely doing the same thing.
"I'll have some biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon." Justin says. You shoot him a look. "Oh! Um make sure the gravy doesn't have any meat in it, please?"
"Fine by me! And what to drink?" You think a moment.
"I'll have a Mr. Pibb." You say.
"I'll have a coke." Justin orders.
"Alright! I'll be right back with your drinks and I'll have you your food in a few minutes." The waitress merrily walks away as Pin Point and Dark lift their heads from their bags.
"Cut some holes in this shit!" Pin Point screams/whispers.
"I will when we leave, alright?" You reply. Pin Point huffs.
"Hey, what's bacon?" Dark asks.
"Fried pig meat." You answer. Dark's eyes widen as he flips his head to face Justin.
"You eat meat!?" He asks with new found confusion.
"Humans are omnivores, dude." Pin Point says in a snobbish tone. You're beginning to think that she's purposely hating on the guy.
The waitress returns with your drinks and food a few moments later. Once she's gone, Pin Point and Dark emerge from their bags for the umpteenth time that day.
"You ever had chocolate chip pancakes?" You ask your pony.
"Yeah? I'm twenty one, man. It's not like I've lived my whole life without a single bit of anything good ." You ignore the sarcastic statement.
"Yes, but have you ever had Earth chocolate chip pancakes? Or more specifically, have you ever had American chocolate chip pancakes?" Pin Point shakes her head. You pick a fork up off of the table and hold it in front of her and as she grabs it, you point to the pancakes before you. "You will regret living this long without them." You say whimsically. Pin Point smiles and rolls her eyes as the magic enveloped fork lifts a chunk of the creamy cake into her mouth.
"HORY MUFFER FUNKING SHMITT!!" She shouts through a mouthful of pancakes. "DISH ISH SHOOO FUNKING GOOT!" You smile as you slap two pancakes onto her plate and two onto yours. Across the table, you see Dark slowly eating his biscuits as he watches Justin eat his bacon. Dark seemed to be both horrified and fascinated by the fact that Justin was eating meat.
"Alright, so where are we going after this?" You ask. You know exactly where you're going, but you want the next location to be a surprise for the ponies.
"We're going putt putt golfing!" Justin says with excitement.
"What if someone sees us?" Dark asks.
"Then we'll freak them out. I don't really see a problem with people we don't know seeing you. But I actually know this waitress." You say. "She's my ex-girlfriends's grandmother. So I don't want her seeing you and sending the FBI to my house." By this time, Pin Point has nearly finished off her pancakes and Justin seems to be in the same condition. You've always been a slow eater no matter how good the food was. Dark seemed to share that trait with you. Pin Point levitates the Mr. Pibb to herself and takes a sip.
"Dude, the waitress!" Justin warns you. "I think she saw the glass!" You quickly shove Pin Point's head into your bag and Justin does the same as your waitress approaches you.
"How were you doing that?" She asks.
"Doing what?" You counter.
"Floating that glass."
"What glass?"
"That glass!" She says as she points to the half empty drink.
"What about that glass?" You ask.
"How were you making it float?"
"Making what float?"
"The glass!" She shouts.
"Yes it is!" You reply. The waitress gives a confused and annoyed look, but shakes her head instead of continuing.
"I was going to ask if you all needed refills."
"No, we're fine. Actually, we need a couple boxes for the food we have left." You say.
"Alright. I'll be right back with that." She says with a smile again.
You open your bag a little, just enough to see Pin Point.
"We almost got saw!" You say. Pin Point giggles and you shut the bag again.
Your waitress returns moments later with your boxes. Justin and you both pack up your things and leave the restaurant, but not before leaving a generous tip.
"That was a pretty nice place." Dark says once you're back in the car.
"Yeah." You reply.

A dimly lit television screen flickers in front of a single person in a dark room. Various pictures of different ponies litter the walls and floor and footage of different ponies plays on the television. The man in the center of the room is interrupted in his pony studies by one of his associates.
"Sir?"
"Yes?" The man replies.
"We've located the source of the portal rift. We've got a very strong signal this time." After a few seconds of silence the man stands from his chair.
"Finally..." He says as he approaches the television. "I've waited years to get my hands on one of these pony-like creatures. I know that their powers can be harvested." He turns to his associate. "I've known that for quite some time now..."
"Yes, sir." He replies.
"Take me there." The man orders as he leaves the room. The door shuts and nearly all light leaves the room, making the only visible thing the television screen with a video of a blue and gold maned mare and a brown coated stallion walking through a parking lot with a couple of humans.

It's Your Birthday Again!
That part where it looks like you're going to get in trouble but....
Now, as much as you didn't really like the idea of being in public with the ponies, you thought that it would be a fun experience for them. The four of you pull into the parking lot and Pin Point and Dark crawl into their backpacks respectively. You and Justin hoist them over your shoulders and enter the main building at the front of the course.
Inside, a bored looking teenage girl is at the front desk wearing a blue uniform and a matching cap. She's sitting in a chair tapping her fingers on the surface of the desk. She tilts her head up and see's the two of you, then immediately perks up at the sight of customers.
"Welcome to Put-tastic Park!" She says with a huge smile on her face. You look more analytically at her and see that she is indeed faking it.
"Thank you." Justin begins. "We need four clubs, two in adult and two in children. And it doesn't matter the color of the balls." He says. You look back to the girl and see her smile has dropped a little and then it hits you. There are no kids with you.
"We're expecting our nephews shortly. We're brothers." You say quickly.
"Oh. Alright. I'll be right back with your things!" She says with the most insincere smile in the world. You think it's either because she hates her job, you two are incredibly ugly, or she thinks she's better than you. You decide to rule out the second guess as 'not in a million years or in any universe would this ever be fact'. A few minutes later, the woman returns with the clubs and golf balls and you take them from her.
"Alright, so four people, one game.... That'll be fifteen dollars and seventy five cents." Justin pulls the money out of his wallet and hands it over to the cashier; but as he does so, his sleeve slides up and reveals his Pinkie Pie themed wrist watch.
"Oh! You're a brony?" She asks. Justin looks confused for a moment, then notices the watch.
"Yeah. I really like the show." He says.
"Oh, dude so do I!" She replies. "I have so many plushies! And I really like your watch. Pinkie Pie is best pony!" She says with much more enthusiasm than before. Justin gets a smug look on his face, then turns to you and winks. You have no idea what he's doing until he takes off his backpack.
"You, know. The child size clubs aren't really for our nephews." The cashier is confused by this statement. "I was wondering, do you have any in door courses?"
"Yeah?"
"Good." Justin sits his bag on the counter. "I would be really appreciative if you could let us play in there, and not let anyone else in until we leave. Would that be okay?" Justin gives the girl huge puppy dog eyes.
"I can't really do that. Why do you ask?" Justin unzips his bag and Dark stick his head out.
"I think he's asking because if anyone sees us, they might freak out." He says with a smile. The cashier takes a step back with her hand over her mouth just staring at Dark. You decide that the cat, or pony rather, is out of the bag and do the same with your backpack.
"Plus, it would be hard to explain away two very noticeable technicolor ponies walking around this place." Pin Point adds. The cashier is speechless. She slowly reaches out a hand and strokes it through Dark's mane.
"Whooaa...." She says. "You're actually the ponies! Like the ponies!" The four of you just smile back to her.
"So, if you wouldn't mind." You remind her.
"Oh! Yeah, go ahead! You can take course three." She hands you the keys to the in door course. "You can use the the thing all day if you want!"
"Thank you." You say. Pin Point and Dark slide back into their bags and you all take yourselves over to the small building and let yourselves inside. The entire place seems to be dark except for the black lights and glow in the dark paint everywhere.
The ponies crawl out of their bags and Justin lays the golfing supplies down on the floor.
"Alright, everyone come take a club." He says as he pulls the technicolor golf balls out of his pocket. "And while you're at it, come grab my balls." The joke gets a fit of extremely loud laughter from Dark. Pin Point just grabs her ball out of his hand in her magic with a quiet 'gross'. You take your ball and then Dark does while giggling. Justin drops his ball down onto the starting pad and preps his swing.
"CHOKE " You cough. Justin taps the ball a bit too hard and sends it flying over the neon perimeter and into the darkness against the wall.
"Dude, fuck you!" He says.
"Alright, that's what? A two stroke penalty?" You say as you write down the number. Justin puts the ball back onto the green and hits it, sinking a hole in one; or a hole in four rather. Pin Point chuckles as she places her ball onto the starting mat. She picks up her club with her magic and takes a swing at the ball. Her neon yellow ball follows along an almost perfect line down to the hole. Once it is mere inches away, it stops before moving again and sinking.
"YES!" Pin Point cheers. She runs over to you just to watch you write down a two next to her score. "Hey! What the hell?!" She shouts.
"Pin Point! I thought you were smarter than that! Your magic is bright when we're in broad daylight. What makes you think I wouldn't see you nudge the ball in when we're in a dark room?" You say. Pin Point looks at you with a confused expression until you nudge her.
"Okay, you got me!" She says.

"Sir, we're here." The driver of a black car says as he pulls into a familiar parking lot. His very sickly looking passenger nods and steps out of the car. The two approach a small house that the man recalls seeing on one of his monitors.
"Open it." He says. His agent friend lifts up a leg and kicks the door in with one strike before unsheathing a revolver pistol and rushing inside. The man follows moments after and is much slower doing so. He looks around the house at various pictures hung everywhere. A few articles of clothing are laid haphazardly across the floor and look as if someone had either thrown them there or that someone had evaporated into thin air, leaving just the clothes behind.
"Sir, this place is empty." The agent says as he emerges from the bedroom. After a long sigh, the man turns and heads back towards the door.
"Leave something for our friends." He says. "Just in case they come back." The agent stops briefly and places a small silver ball on the top of a coffee table towards the middle of the room. The orb blinks once then lets off a soft beep. The two leave the house and shut the door. The agent uses a special tool to push the door frame back into place, then locks the door.
The man and his agent assistant reenter the car and get themselves fastened in.
"Where to, sir?" The agent asks.
"We follow them." He replies. "We follow them across the globe if we have to."
