Forty years after the famed “Discord Events,” Equestria remains in an era of peace and prosperity.

After the royal wedding fiasco and the subsequent counter attack by Princess Luna into the Changeling Hive resulting in the capture of “Queen Chrysalis,” Celestia called for reformation of foreign policies. As such it was determined that Discord would be released and brought to the side of good; his ever-alert empire would soon follow in his conversion. Not long after, Princess Luna brought Chrysalis’ hive into the fold in the first royal matrimony between two mares and the royal family was expanded with the coronation of Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Yet all was not perfect in Equestria. Rouge changelings who seemed to deny the Hives integration with the ponies , began terrorist attacks against the Equestrian people. They disguised themselves and then sacrificed themelves by overloading their magic, destroying everything within a good radius of around them.

It was during this time that Discord, now a scientist for theories of chaotic and normal magic, proposed an idea to stop them. A breed of test subjects he needed permission to make. A breed of mixed hybrids between any of the two pony species: unicorns with pegasi, pegasi with earth ponies, earth ponies with unicorns.  This would allow him to make and train elite soliders far better than anything Equestria currently had.

The project was approved. With the template of an alicorn of unknown orgins named Soverign for the first 300 ponies of this project.

These ponies in kind would be genetical altered for pure combat, made and refined to fit the war in the shadows.

The project ended in colossal failure. Out of 300 bred canidates, only 5 survived. The project was officaly closed down. But behind closed doors these fivewere taken in and trained by discord and Soverign. Though most of their mental abilities outside of combat were questionable their scores in all forms of combat and combat operations were fenominal and their powers frightening.  Equestrian had its silent, elite warriors.

The project was marked with black ink, its soliders didn’t exist and neither did their files (though these files would be turned over to the public after the programs official shutdown). Over the course of 20 years, these warriors integrated into society as normal, everyday ponies, operating silently and swiftly without mercy eliminating the threat once and for all.

Some of the members gained renowned fame - the team leader Soverign became a famous DJ trained under the famous “DJPON3” she rose to starhood and fame. Others like the second-in-command, Screw Ball, became a well-known baker and eventually married.

But after wards, things were looking bleak for the continuation of the project, until it was officialy shut down. Only days later, a war broke out between the Discordian Empire and the Equestrian Empire. In the end the Equestrian Empire came out on top and Discord was resealed into stone.

The members of the project fled into shadows. Some rumors say they joined something called The Dark Order.

But what is known, is that our Equestrian nation is safe and forever protected under the immortal princesses.

“Heh,” soverign said quietly. Her sunhat was turned down so no one could see her face or horn. To everyone around her she was a normal pegasus. She flipped the page of the newspaper looking for more knowledge from the article, being ever-so careful as to fold the page so she knew where she looked her fingers doing the deft action subconciously. Across from her sat a quiet and lovely looking mare, who was tapping her fingers on the table impatiently her light bubble gum coat matching the wall next to her the sun was setting making the day cooler despite the fact the two were under an umbrella at a luxurious outside cafe.

“How long?” the mare asked quitely.

“An hour or so” Soverign responded just as quietly as a peculiar product in the ads caused a brow to raise in interest she lowered the newspaper to watch as guards patrolled the perimeter of their target building.

“We've been waiting so long! Can't we just storm now and be done with it?" the mare questiong impatiently, leaning back in her chair, her own sunhat casting a shadow across her face it hard to recognize.

“And lose the advantages we gain by waiting? No thank you, I'd rather not,” soverign replied with mild harshness.

The mare let out a soft sigh. “I just really miss him” she whispered.

“I know. The others do too.” soverign sighed.  “But patience is important for this mission,” she continued.

“Yeah... but are you sure it'll work? How do you know it will?”

Soverign raised her hat a touch so the other mare could see her eyes. She smiled reassuringly “Have I ever been wrong?”
