Reed said to her twin brother, "We have to get to Sugarcube corner, quick!" "I'm coming!" Eli said to her.. Eli and Reed both had white coats and blue eyes. Eli was a unicorn, and Reed was a pegasus. Their only difference was their mane. Eli a dark red one, and Reed had a navy one. They were both blank flanks. "Hi Eli!" a pink mare said, "Hi Reed! What can I get you?" "Hi, Pinkie!" Eli said, "How about some cookies?" "Alright!" Pinkie then went into the kitchen to get a fresh batch. While she was gone, the stallion standing next to the twins started talking. "Hmm." he said, "Blue eyes. Red and Navy manes. White coat. Unicorn and Pegasus." "What?" Reed said confused. "They couldn't be." "Excuse me, sir, what are you talking about?" Eli asked. "What are your names, children?" the stallion asked. "I-I'm Eli, and this is Reed." Eli said. "Eli and Reed. Who are your parents?" that stallion asked. The twin looked at each other. "We don't know." Reed looked at the floor. "We were raised in orphanages as long as we can remember." Eli added. "Two orphans, twins named Eli and Reed. With those colors, it's no coincidence." he looked at the children, "What if I told you, I knew your mother, father, and even you grandfather?" "Really?" Eli asked. "Yes." the stallion said, "I'm Shield Cross. Can you hang around for a few more days while I go get your father?" "Yeah!" Reed said. "Here you go!" Pinkie said, coming out, "Take as many as you'd like!" The twins took two cookies each, said goodbye to Pinkie and Shield Cross, and headed back to the orphanage. The twins shared a bunk. They sat there, getting idea about what their parents would look like. "Your parents don't want you." Silver Spoon said to them. "Our dad it coming back for us!" Eli said. "You just wait and see! We'll be gone in a couple days!" Reed said. "Stupid blank flanks." Silver Spoon muttered as she left the room "Dad is coming back for us." Reed said. The next few days went slowly. On the third day, the door opened. "Hello, ma'am." a stallion said, "A friend of mine said my children were here." The stallion was a white unicorn, with a red mane, and brown eyes. His cutie mark was a sword and a shield. "Right, names?" the receptionist asked. "Eli and Reed." "Alright, ELI!!! REED!!! PACK YOUR THINGS!!! IT SEEMS YOUR REAL FATHER HAS COME FOR YOU!!!" The twins packed what little they had into their saddlebags. They trotted downstairs. When their eyes met their father's, they instantly ran towards him, and gave him a hug. He hugged his children back. A tear escaped from their father's eye.
