The Girl In The Mirror
The Girl In The Mirror
Load Full StoryPinkie woke up with a sigh. She loved seeing her friends, but she hated the fact that she only got to see them at school. She missed Twilight too. However, another Twilight had appeared at school, and she was OK. She was a little stuck-up, but she was a good friend. No replacement for the other Twilight.
Pinkie sat up and got started on her hair. Even though it was curly, it still got tangles. She was staring at her reflection, and felt her heart drop a little.
"When can I see me? I'm only seeing this other girl who mimics my actions. I want to see me. I don't want to see her every morning when I wake up!" She thought.
She finished brushing her hair and went over to her closet, wondering what she would wear that day. She picked out a pink dress that had balloons on it, and a blue jacket, and some pink shoes. She walked downstairs and went out the door to school without eating. Sometimes the Cake's wondered how she could do that. As Pinkie climbed the steps, she pondered why people were paying attention to her for once.
"Hey Pinkie!" Vinyl called out.
"Hey sexy!" One of the boys called out.
Pinkie was shocked. No one ever payed attention to her. Or called her sexy for that matter. She walked inside where she met the others.
"Howdy Pinkie." Applejack greeted.
"Finally someone calls me by name." Pinkie muttered. She walked even faster over towards her friends, but was then stopped by Star Fall. Star was one of the new jocks that never payed any attention to her. Even when he was a new student.
"Hey Pretty Pie." He said.
"Uh it's Pinkie not Pretty." Pinkie responded flatly.
"Anyway," He said ignoring her, "You busy Friday night?"
"Yes. But not with you." She replied.
He slowly walked away to join his friends who were watching the entire time.
"Pinkie darling! You're popular now! You must treat those with respect!" Rarity scolded.
"Rarity, why the hell would I date him?" Pinkie asked, her hair slowly deflating even more. She hated when people did this to her.
"Pinkie, you're so not yourself today." Sunset Shimmer pointed out.
Ever since she was defeated, the other 5 ponies made a promise to become friends with Sunset, and show her the magic of friendship. She hangs out with them now, accepting their guidance.
"She's right." Twilight said.
"I just don't feel right today. Everyone keeps calling me pretty, or sexy, or beauty. Rarity scolding me, and telling me how I should act towards those idiot jocks doesn't help either." Pinkie replied, her hair now fully deflated.
"How about a party after school?" Rainbow Dash  suggested.
"Sure!" Pinkie said happily, her hair reflating.
Pinkie dreaded the entire day. She hated those jocks. She just hated them. Once school let out, she went up to her room for a bit, before she had to start getting ready for the party. Later, she headed downstairs and baked some goods. She opened up a closet, and starting working on getting some stuff out.
She set up some tables, and chairs, and set all the cakes up. Then, she walked upstairs to get ready. She pulled out some shorts, and a tank-top and starting getting dressed. She pulled her hair up into a pony-tail. She looked into the mirror and sighed.
"Please, let me see my reflection." She thought. She dreaded seeing this beautiful look alike before her. She was so beautiful. She hated seeing her everyday, knowing that she wouldn't ever get to see her real self. She studied the beautiful girl before her, and noticed that they were both wearing the same thing.
Pinkie got her stuff together and walked downstairs to where her friends would soon be arriving. She walked around her room and looked and the decorations. She couldn't believe that she could get all kinds of things all set up in only 20 minutes, without help of friends or her confetti cannon.
Soon, her friends were there, knocking at the door. Observing her work for the last time, she walked over to the door and opened it to see all 7 of her friends. Sunset Shimmer had a bejeweled Tank-top, and pink shorts, Rainbow Dash had a grey tank-top, and black shorts, Twilight had a purple tank-top and shorts, Rarity, white, Applejack green. She then noticed Fluttershy wasn't among them.
"Where's Fluttershy?" She asked.
"She's out sick." Sunset replied.
"Oh." Pinkie said.
She invited her friends inside, and they all had a great time, that is, until Fluttershy showed up drunk nine minutes later with Star Fall.
"Fluttershy, Star Fall?" Pinkie asked surprised.
"H-hi." Fluttershy replied, suddenly realizing where she was. "It's not what it looks like."
"Yeah right. Get out!" Pinkie yelled, upset. She then ran upstairs to her room, and locked her door. She felt awful. First she was being hit on by people she didn't even like, next, she was lied to by Fluttershy, and then, she had a beautiful reflection that kept teasing her.
Pinkie lied down on her bed, depressed by what tomorrow may bring. Right now, she really hated her life. Pinkie laid in silence, until the darkness under her lids took over, and she was wrapped up in the peaceful dark.
When she woke up the next morning, she went through the same routine, but this time, she didn't bother to look in the mirror. She hated that girl in the mirror. She was no better than what Sunset Shimmer used to be. She dreaded going to school. This time she ignored everyone, and let her deflated hair cover her face. She ignored everyone all day, and just headed right home. She didn't care anymore. She cut herself off from everyone.
Later, she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." Pinkie croaked, barely heard.
The door creaked, and her five friends walked inside, and then Fluttershy followed.
"Pinkie?" Fluttershy asked.
"Are you OK Darling?" Rarity interjected, worried.
"I'm fine." Pinkie said coldly, glaring at Fluttershy. She moved her flat hair out of the way, so she could see her five friends.
"Pinkie, what's tha matter?" Applejack asked.
"Oh I dunno, how about the fact that one of my so called friends had lied and betrayed me? How about the fact that she got drunk and had the nerve to show up with a fucking stuck up jock that I hate? No I don't control her, but why the hell would a friend do that to me? I wouldn't show up to your party with someone you hate!" Pinkie almost yelled, still glaring at Fluttershy as she spoke.
Fluttershy shifted nervously. The others were still processing what they had just heard. Twilight walked over and turned on Pinkie's lamp so there was at least some light in the dark room.
"Pinkie, I know we haven't been friends for long, but I don't think you should take your sadness out on a friend." Twilight said.
"Friend? And why the fuck do you assume that she's my friend?" Pinkie hissed.
Everyone looked taken aback by Pinkie's words. Fluttershy looked sad, and walked out of the room.
"Sugar Cube, ah know you're upset, but ya don't have ta take it out on a friend!" Applejack said.
"GET OUT! ALL OF YOU! IF YOU THINK THAT I SHOULDN'T BE MAD AT HER, THEN YOU CAN GET THE FUCK OUT. INCLUDING YOU 'Sugar cube' " Pinkie said with a cold glare at Applejack.
Everyone walked out of the room silently, leaving Pinkie alone. She turned off the lamp and hid under her covers.
"I have no friends now..." Pinkie thought. She laid down, and hid under her covers for a long time.
When Pinkie awoke the next day, she got up, got dressed and went to school. She hid under her covers for a long time. When she got home, she picked up a knife from the kitchen and walked upstairs. She looked coldly at the mirror.
"GO THE FUCK AWAY!" Pinkie yelled at the girl. "GO AWAY!" Tears now flooded her eyes as she stared. She stabbed the mirror, and saw the girl unharmed. She finally looked down at her body. Tears flooding faster. She stabbed herself continuously, and finally looked up. She saw the girl, blood dripping down her body, her eyes full of tears.
Pinkie smiled. Now she would never have to see the dreaded girl ever again. Without warning, her legs gave out, and she fell to the floor, dead. Her face wore a smile. Now she would never have to see anyone ever again. She could live without that awful mirror. Pinkie thought she had just blacked out, and was having an out-of-body experience, but she didn't know that she had just died.
Pinkie's friends stopped by later to check on her, and had discovered her cold dead body. The hospital had taken her in, trying to revive her, but to no avail. Pinkie's ghost still lives on, still unaware that she is dead.
