Neither Day or Night /volume 1

3 years have passed since that rainy day, now I was 10 years old and still a blank flank. Nothing special happened the past years other than helping Zecora with her brews and reading tons of books since I didn't really have any toys to play with nor any friends.
I didn't really care about having toys, friends or even having a cutie mark I basically gave up on that.
Today Zecora and I are going really deep into the Everfree forest to look for a really rare plant that grows the seeds of truth.
The forest was getting denser and denser until finally a small clearing appeared a very colorful flower that seemed to be at the peek of it's bloom.

"Hey zecora I thought you said that the flower was white and pink..."
I looked at Zecora then back at the marvelous flower
"When a drop of friendship falls on to the crop instead of truth it will bloom filled with ruth"
I looked at Zecora confused
"How can it be filled with ruth?"
Zecora smiled and approached the flower
"Embrace it's grace and you will see"

I walked towards the flower and I gently touched it with my hoof and I felt a serge of emotions flow threw me.
I felt warm and fuzzy, happy and compassionate, I felt love something I haven't felt in 3 years.
Zecora didn't love me like a parent she loved me like a friend so this feeling of love I missed so much made me so happy,
tears welled up in my eyes and I hugged Zecora.
"Zecora I miss my family!"
Zecora was surprised with this burst of tears but all she did was to embrace me and pet my mane gently.
"Can you not see that I to am your family now so don't worry your with me now."
I looked up at Zecora
"Really?"
she nodded and let go of me,
"Now we shall just harvest the seeds not the flower"
Zecora gently tapped the petals of the flower which dropped some yellow seeds.
Zecora put it in a small pouch and back in her saddle bags
"Lets go"
She said as she walked out of the small clearing.

As I ran to catch up with her I her some heavy breathing
"Hey Zecora do you hear that?"
Zecora stopped and moved her ears around checking for any noises she shook her head and kept walking.
It's probably just the forest I thought when the breathing got louder and I started to smell something rotten,
my eyes grew wide as I recognized the smell
"Timber wolves" I told Zecora she stopped at the moment I said those words
"Run" she responded and we started to dash off when the creatures burst out of the shade snarling at them.

The biggest one made it's move and tackled Zecora, she fell to the ground trying to hold the creatures muzzle from getting any closer. I bucked the wolf of her knocking it out cold
"Run Zecora!!" I told her she shook her head
"No you must get away before you become there prey"
"What about you Zecora?" I asked as I dodged the runt of the pack's attack
"GO!" she yelled and bucked another one.
The one I bucked was regaining it's conciseness and immediately went after me, at the same time Zecora got pushed down by another one
"Run Dusk run!" she yelled as she tried to fight against the beast
I had no other choice, I started to run as fast as I could with the wolf at my heels.

The forest was dense filled with thorns and twigs that scraped my pelt but not my legs since it's part exoskeleton.
I felt blood oozing from shoulder as I crashed threw a thorn bush, I slowed down thinking that the wolf got stuck in that bush but then It jumped out bearing it's thorny teeth growling and getting ready for one last leap to capture it's prey.
My eyes were wide open I didn't know what to do, I watched as it launched it self to me and at last minute I put my hoof in front of my face hoping that it would hurt the wolf.
I saw it's mouth latch on to my hoof as it tried to bite me, one of it's teeth got stuck in one of my holes and it couldn't get it's self out so it started to crunch my hoof .

I couldn't feel a thing I just saw it and heard as it started to crunch my hoof, then the pain came as it reached my flesh.
I screamed in pain, crying and trying to get it off of me, I tried to buck it but it didn't come of so I just concentrated and sent a small blast of magic towards it. It's face started to burn so it ripped a little bit of my hoof off and swung it's head in pain.
I didn't care whether my hoof was ok or not I ran as fast as I could hoping to find a small clearing so I could fly away but I found none.
My leg was starting to feel numb as I jumped over a big fallen tree and when I landed I was outside of the everfree forest.
Behind me I heard loud barking so I looked in front of me a large orchard of apples lay ahead so I tried to fly but then I noticed that a huge thorn got stuck in my right wing making me unable to fly away.
The adrenaline rush started to decrease and I felt my bodies pain, I tried to run a little bit farther before all the adrenaline was gone but I only got as far as the fence.
In front of me was a large muscular red stallion starring at me, he showed no emotion and even though he was a pony that was probably afraid of me, I took my chances and I whispered

"Help... please..."

I heard the wolf howl and I looked behind me there it was the beast.
I fell to the ground in fear and pain I could barely hold on to conciseness, my eye sight started to get foggy as I watched a large red silhouette jump over me, it was the stallion, I watched him fight the incoming timber wolves, one of them hit him really hard in his waist.
Finally I gave out my eyes slowly closed as I watched him get up from the attack, then it all went black
