//-------------------------------------------------------// Neither Day or Night /volume 1 -by MoonSketch- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// The Beginning chapter 1 Hello my name is Dusk, I lived in the Everfree forest with Zecora ever since I was a filly, I help her out and sometimes invent new brews but it wasn't always that way. I use to live with my mom BookSpell, we always had lots of fun together, we would bake pie, write silly stories and all kinds of other things but it didn't last long. This is my story, this is my life. It all started when I was 7, I lived with my mom back then and I still didn't have my cutie mark it was then where I discovered what I really was. "Mom are sure I'm an alicorn? Cause I look a lot similar to the pony in the news" as soon as I said that my mom turned around and turned off the TV "No sweetie your not like that pony, you were born as an alicorn and I'm sure you are" she said. I was still curious about the pony on TV so I went to my room and searched in the book Pony species but it wasn't there Is it in the book that mom hides under her bed? I thought so I sneaked into my mom's room and got the book but then I heard my mom coming into the room so I quickly hid under the bed. Soon my mom left so I just read the book under her bed just in case she came again. The room was dark so I tried doing a illumination spell that will light up your horn "Hrrnngg" luckily I was able to create a dim light with my horn. And so I read the title "Creatures of all Kinds hmm sounds interesting now lets see..." I flipped the pages of the book looking at the illustrations of the creatures hoping to find it. "Aha hear it is!" I yelled but then I covered my mouth and I read the biography of the creature Changelings. A creature known to take the form of others and feed on the love that the victim's loved ponies make. Changeling are dark grey with skin that feels like led, have holed hooves, fangs,long deer like ears that are torn, insect like eyes and wings, they also have a silky like mane and horn shaped like a thorn. reading that description I looked at the illustartion of one and immediately closed the book not reading anything else, walked up to the full sized mirror my mom had, and there I saw a dark purple pony,with orange irises, with pegasi wings, blue mane and tail, a thorn like horn, small fangs and holed hooves that were dark grey that faded to dark purple at my knee. I rubbed my hooves on my cheek checking if it felt like led and it did. I ran out of my mom's room and went to the kitchen "M-m-mom... Am I a changeling?" I asked she walked up to me and said "You read the book didn't you?" I nodded, she sat next to me and put her wing around me "Guess it's time I tell you. (sigh) Well Dusk your father was a changeling and at first we didn't get along but soon I fell in love with him. We soon started living together in secret but the guard found out about him and made him leave but before that we made you... You were also born in secret and no one knows about you or at least I don't think so. Anyway your not a changeling but only half the other half is a Pegasus just like me." I stared at my mom for a while trying to take it all in "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked "Because before you were to young to know." she responded "So I'm not an alicorn after all..." I frowned and lowered my head, my Mom held me up closer "No your still an alicorn cause you can use magic and Changelings can't." Mom smiled and went back to the kitchen "The pie is ready!" "Yaay!!" I ran up to the kitchen and stared at the delicious raspberry pie "It still hasn't cooled yet so go outside and practice your flying!" she said "Ok" I went outside and flew all around, I tried doing some tricks but all I was good at was circles. It was night time and I was getting ready to go to bed but then I got this weird tingly feeling in my horn like something bad was going to happen. After brushing my teeth I went to my Mom "Mom I think something bad is going to happen" Mom's ears perked up and looked at me with a worried face "Then go get your saddlebags ready, don't put to much stuff in it just a book, some food and a lighter" "Why?" I asked "Tomorrow if you here someone knocking at the door any unusual noises grab your saddlebags and fly as fast as you can to the Everfree forest that way" my Mom pointed south and looked at me with a seriouse face. I went to my room and did exactly what she told me to do except for the flying south part. The next day I was eating breakfast when my Mom and I heard some knocking at the door "Dusk go get your saddlebags and do as I told you yesterday" I looked at her hesitantly "NOW!" she yelled, I ran to my room and did just that but while I was grabbing my bags I heard some crashing noises and I looked outside of my room, I will never forget that moment, my Mom was holding of a stallion from the guard and yelled "GO DUSK RUN, NEVER FORGET ME AND KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU!!!" as soon as I heard those words I ran into my room and bucked the window and flew away with my bags. "It's getting away! Go get it!" the commander of the stallions pointed at me from outside and one of the stallions started flying up to me. As I saw him fly up I started flapping my wings as fast as I could and I flew south. During that time I never looked back not until I crashed into a Pegasus with a rainbow mane "Hey look were your going squirt!" she yelled, I kept on flying except a little slower seeing that the stallion wasn't following me anymore but the rainbow maned mare kept on following me "Think your faster than me huh?" another voice followed us "Rainbow Dash leave that filly alone and go to bed!" it yelled "Coming Mom, Ugh I can't wait till I turn 18, I'll see you later Squirt" the mare soon turned around and flew the other way. I kept on flying till my wings felt like they were about to fall of, I was starting to land and I was getting near a dark and creepy forest which I guessed was Everfree forest. It soon started to get closer and closer but the forest was so thick that there was no room for me to land and even worse my body started to collapse and my wings completely stopped flapping, and I was soon falling out of the sky. I didn't have any energy left to scream so I just fell and I quickly started crashing into the branches of the trees. Finally I hit the ground, I couldn't feel my body, everything felt bruised and my sight started to turn blurry and my eyes started to close, the last thing I saw was a gray pony walk in front of me then it all went black. Author's Note No sick minded comments please Dusk learned how to fly at the age of 6 Dusk and her mom live south of Cloudsdale Rainbow Dash is 13 at the time her family also live south of Cloudsdale //-------------------------------------------------------// Awoken chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Awoken chapter 2 As I regained consciousness I felt a horrible pain sear threw my body "Urggh" my eyes slowly opened revealing a wooden room with a cauldron in the middle of it "I see you have woken,but do not feel miss tooken for you are safe here" I turned to the sound of the voice and there I saw a very strange mare turned around, she had black stripes and her tail wasn't all fur she also didn't have a colorful cutie mark but I knew I that I've seen this type of pony somewhere. "Wh- who are you? And where am I?" I asked she turned around and looked at me for awhile then she approached me "I am Zecora and you are in my in my home which you are allowed to roam" My brain then started to function and I remembered where I've seen her, she was a zebra "Your a Zebra aren't you?" she smiled at me and said "I am a Zebra but you are only half pony and many would laugh" "I know..." I frowned and lowered my head "But do not worry for your mother left a note that it would be better if one took care of you" as when I heard those my ears perked up "Can I read the note?" the zebra nodded and went to my saddle bags which were across the room, she then handed it to me and I read it out loud "Dear Dusk I sneaked some stuff in your bags while you were sleeping. I knew this moment was going to come and I hope your safe sweetie... I heard there was somepony living in the Everfree forest so go find that somepony Dusk, give her/him this note so she/he can understand the outcome. To that somepony please take care of Dusk, please raise her well, I know she is part changeling part pony but even if she is, she has a very nice personality and she means no harm. Please I beg of her put your differences aside and take care of her. Dusk I love you so much and I'm going to miss you, I put a picture of us in your bags. " Tears were swelling in my eyes and i hugged the piece of paper. Zecora petted me "Don't worry I'll take care of you for that mare" I looked up to her and hugged her instead, she seemed surprised to my action but she smiled at me and continued petting me. After that sad moment Zecora went to a shelf that was filled with bottle's she grabbed one of them and put a little bit of the contents inside the big black cauldron, she soon started putting a whole bunch of other stuff. After she put all the ingredients in the cauldron she stirred with a big spoon, then she served it into a bowl and handed it to me "Drink, it will fill you with protein to help your healing so it will no longer sting" This Zebra likes to make things rhyme doesn't she? I thought as I drank the potion, I quickly finished it and I gave it back. "Rest" she told me as she walked to a sink were she left the bowl. I listened to her advice so I laid my head on what appeared to be a bed but I didn't feel like sleeping so I looked at my battered body and noticed a bandage on my left wing "Zecora I didn't break a wing did I?" she turned around and answered my question by a simple nod, I frowned and thought My body may be as good as new in a few weeks but my wing is going to take forever... I should of at least tried gliding. I remembered the events of the past night and closed my eyes, I soon fell asleep. *** It's been a few weeks since my encounter with Zecora and just as I predicted my body was great but my left wing wasn't. I was laying down beside Zecora's bed and sighed "Zecora can't I help you make the bed? It's my bed after all" I stood up and looked at Zecora as she walked to the door and sighed "Very well but do not wonder around yonder" I rolled my eyes "You don't have to make everything rhyme you know" I walked up next to her. We were soon pretty deep in the Everfree forest and we soon reached a clearing were there was a very fluffly pink pony standing in the middle of it. "This is Fluffle Puff she will be able to give material to make your bed" We walked up to the pony and she turned to see us. She wasn't surprised at all to see us actually she didn't do anything else but smile. out of nowhere she took out a big bag and handed it to Zecora "Pffhht" she said "Thank you" responded Zecora, we then turned around and walked away but as we did I turned around to see that it jumped into some kind of portal that said Tumblr in big white letters "Hey Zecora were did Fluffle Puff go?" I asked "It's a mystery" Zecora answered When we got back to the hut Zecora pulled out a large basket and put all the contents that the bag had, which was pink fluff. "You will sleep hear so you can count your sheep" I touched the fluff in the basket seeing how soft it was, I looked at Zecora with a smile. I looked out the window watching the sun set, for whatever reason I always enjoyed watching the sun set so I just stared at it for hours until it finally went under the horizon. "it's bedtime so I'll see you at daytime" Zecora went over to her bed which I used to sleep in, I too went to bed. "night" I said as I closed my eyes. Author's Note Sorry if Zecora's sentences sometimes don't make sense and some of the words are grammatically incorrect but I'm not the greatest at rhymes so please bear with me. Also if you don't think some things don't rhyme say them out loud. Liked my reference? //-------------------------------------------------------// Monster chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Monster chapter 3 "Zecoraaaa!" I said with a pleading gesture "Can you please teach me magic like actual spells? Not just floating water..." I was standing in the middle of a pond with floating water around me, I've been doing that for the past 3 days. It was evening and my wing had already healed completely "Now fly, bring thy water up and keep your self dry" it was an obvious 'no'. But even if it wasn't new spells it was still magic which I quite enjoyed, so even though I was tired I flew up and tried but all the water fell down. "Sorry Zecora..." I flew back down and walked up to Zecora "It's alright for you put up a fight" When we got back home it was already night time. I took out the book I put in my saddle bags when I ran away and read it from were I left off Reflection spell #5 When you go up to a pond in a cave with a little bit of light the water will be reflected showing a beautiful display. You may also do this with the 'Reflection' spell, it can reflect any object other than water, it can also distort the reflection and show a much different display. To do this you must grab hold of the object with magic and try creating an invisible light of magic hitting the object creating a reflection. I thought about and looked at the jar beside me, I concentrated and grabbed hold of the jar then I tried sending an invisible light but my magic just created a bunch of sparks and left me panting. Zecora tapped my shoulder and closed the book, I put it aside and I closed my eyes. "Good night Zecora" I said and I was soon fast asleep. "Duuussk" my eyes suddenly opened revealing a dark room "Hello is anypony there?" nothing responded so I tried creating a light but my magic it felt completely different almost as if I was a different pony. The room revealed a dim light so I walked up to but I as I walked I felt so much heavier, I hesitated in going but then a voice called out "Duussk" it was my mothers voice so I got all excited and ran to the dim light. When I reached the light it got brighter then it revealed a a beautiful grassy field and on the hill before me I saw a white Pegasus "M-Mom?" I called out and the Pegasus turned to me "Duussk" "Mommy!!" I yelled and I ran up to the figure and there she was my Mom Bookspell smiling at me. I gave my Mom a big hug "Oh Mommy I've missed you so much!!" Mom pushed me away and looked at me with fear "Oh sweetie what has become of you..." she started to back away "Mom? I'm not a monster I'm still old me." I looked at my Mom and smiled "You monster get away from me!" she yelled and ran over the hill and soon I saw her flying away "M-Mommy!! No please I'm not a monster... I'm not a monster... right?" I starred at the sky and then everything turned dark and dead. I saw a pond in front if my I looked at my reflection and there I saw a changeling, an ugly changeling "N-no... it's not real, it's not real, it's just a dream, it's just dream I just have to wake up..." I closed my eyes and concentrated but when I opened them it revealed the same dead valley and when I looked once again in the pond I saw my self, my own reflection and it was old me but the I noticed I looked similar to a changeling. A voice in my head appeared and said Changelings are one of the worlds most disgusting and fearful creatures, they kill and destroy, they're monsters. The word monsters echoed in my head "Am I a monster?" I looked in the pool again and I saw myself "I'm part changeling, I'm part monster" tears started to swell up in my eyes. "NOOOOO!" I yelled and when I opened my eyes I was back in Zecora's hut I ran up to Zecora "Oh Zecora! I Had this horrible dream were my mom became afraid of me oh it was horrible!" Zecora rolled over to me "It was just a nightmare so just bare the dream and go back to sleep." I listened to Zecora and went back to sleep. Author's Note sorry this is shorter than my other ones but I just wanted to give you this chapter cause you guys have waited so long and all. There will be less updates on this story because of school and I'm leaving to Mexico for 10 days so please be patient for the next chapter. Also there has been little update in august because of school I start school early because of year round school. Thanks every pony :) Btw to those of you who have already read this I edited it just a little bit. //-------------------------------------------------------// Raindrops chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Raindrops chapter 4 I was still thinking about the nightmare I had the previous night and I looked at Zecora but I already knew what she was going to say "No you are not a monster" of course with rhymes in it but I just continued walking beside Zecora then she stopped at the pond I was at the yesterday "Today you shall display the art of water so put all your heart into it." "All right" I sighed my body was completely sore from the last few days of training "You shall ride and glide on top of a bubble of water to display a marvel of water" I have no idea how I was able to understand that but I was already used to all the rhymes so I just readied my magic, closed my eyes and walked on water. I felt the magic in the water and I lifted it up right under me, as soon as I felt air born I opened my eyes and let my magic which resulted into me falling into the pond obviously. "Again" she said so once again, I did the same procedure this time and when I got air born I held on to my bubble of water as is it was my most treasured possession. Soon i was up above the trees of the Everfree forest I stood up from the bubble holding my self with magic and I looked around to the east I saw a large old stone tower it looked like the ruins that Zecora talked about in her bedtimes stories and on the west I saw a small pony settlement That must be the place were Zecora goes every Friday but never gets her the things she goes to get... cause they're afraid of her I sighed at the sight I bet they'll do the same to me if I went their I looked back down and I saw Zecora starring at me waiting for me to do something pretty with the water. I flew of the bubble, closed my eyes yet again to concentrate and I surrounded my self with it making a ring around me and I spun around I felt my horn burning at the effort but I continued, I made the water into small drops and I flew down while I tried keeping them in the air. when I opened them and I saw the reflections of the water being made all around us by the sun, it was spectacular I remember it so clearly as if it was a video. once I hit land, I lowered the water back into the pond slowly and once I did so I looked at Zecora feeling a bit dazed after the use of so much magic "Spectacular you used the water as if it was a feather, you have advanced and enhanced your magic" Zecora smiled to me warmly Maybe this is my super special talent But then I remembered that changelings don't have cutie marks and even though I have both the advantages of a changeling and pony, I guessed that the only disadvantage of being half of both would be not having a cutie mark. Zecora said that was enough practice with magic when she saw the smoke coming from my horn "Ugh... Zecora my head hurts and I feel like I have a fever." I told her as we walked back to the hut "I shall make a medicine with nutrition, it will be ideal for you to feel better." Zecora smiled at and we continued walking. While Zecora was making the medicine I was reading the book I brought from home Home... I thought I've been here and living here for the past 3 months since the incident back at home I closed my book and looked out the window thoughtfully So I guess this is home now... Will I ever be able to see my Mom again? And go back to those fields under Cloudsdale? I starred at the dark green trees that were out the window. I looked at Zecora who tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a bowl, I drank the contents of the bowl and winced at the bitter taste, then I handed back the bowl to Zecora. I kept starring at the window for a while, when I saw a storm brewing from the Everfree forest and soon it started to rain. Even so I starred at the rain when I began to think In books the characters would usually stare at the rain and think about stuff,and the same thing happens in real life but why? I starred at the rain intensely trying to figure out why but then I noticed that I was starring at the trees not the rain so I started looking at the rain. At every drop I focused on trying to figure it out when the sun started to peek threw some of the clouds making the raindrops shimmer "It so beautiful..." I said and I starred at the magnificent view when I realized that the reason pony's stare at the rain even when there is no sunshine peeking threw the clouds it's because the rain is so beautiful, the sound calms you down, the sight makes you stare at it. For whatever reason I was so excited about the conclusion I came too Maybe the rain has something to with my cutie mark! so I ran outside and stood in the rain for a few minutes when I remembered that I couldn't get my cutie mark because I was part changeling, I frowned as I walked all wet. I sighed as Zecora threw a towel over me and told me to never do that again cause I could catch a cold. I dried myself with the towel and lied down in my bed and took a midday nap. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Other Side chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// The Other Side chapter 5 3 years have passed since that rainy day, now I was 10 years old and still a blank flank. Nothing special happened the past years other than helping Zecora with her brews and reading tons of books since I didn't really have any toys to play with nor any friends. I didn't really care about having toys, friends or even having a cutie mark I basically gave up on that. Today Zecora and I are going really deep into the Everfree forest to look for a really rare plant that grows the seeds of truth. The forest was getting denser and denser until finally a small clearing appeared a very colorful flower that seemed to be at the peek of it's bloom. "Hey zecora I thought you said that the flower was white and pink..." I looked at Zecora then back at the marvelous flower "When a drop of friendship falls on to the crop instead of truth it will bloom filled with ruth" I looked at Zecora confused "How can it be filled with ruth?" Zecora smiled and approached the flower "Embrace it's grace and you will see" I walked towards the flower and I gently touched it with my hoof and I felt a serge of emotions flow threw me. I felt warm and fuzzy, happy and compassionate, I felt love something I haven't felt in 3 years. Zecora didn't love me like a parent she loved me like a friend so this feeling of love I missed so much made me so happy, tears welled up in my eyes and I hugged Zecora. "Zecora I miss my family!" Zecora was surprised with this burst of tears but all she did was to embrace me and pet my mane gently. "Can you not see that I to am your family now so don't worry your with me now." I looked up at Zecora "Really?" she nodded and let go of me, "Now we shall just harvest the seeds not the flower" Zecora gently tapped the petals of the flower which dropped some yellow seeds. Zecora put it in a small pouch and back in her saddle bags "Lets go" She said as she walked out of the small clearing. As I ran to catch up with her I her some heavy breathing "Hey Zecora do you hear that?" Zecora stopped and moved her ears around checking for any noises she shook her head and kept walking. It's probably just the forest I thought when the breathing got louder and I started to smell something rotten, my eyes grew wide as I recognized the smell "Timber wolves" I told Zecora she stopped at the moment I said those words "Run" she responded and we started to dash off when the creatures burst out of the shade snarling at them. The biggest one made it's move and tackled Zecora, she fell to the ground trying to hold the creatures muzzle from getting any closer. I bucked the wolf of her knocking it out cold "Run Zecora!!" I told her she shook her head "No you must get away before you become there prey" "What about you Zecora?" I asked as I dodged the runt of the pack's attack "GO!" she yelled and bucked another one. The one I bucked was regaining it's conciseness and immediately went after me, at the same time Zecora got pushed down by another one "Run Dusk run!" she yelled as she tried to fight against the beast I had no other choice, I started to run as fast as I could with the wolf at my heels. The forest was dense filled with thorns and twigs that scraped my pelt but not my legs since it's part exoskeleton. I felt blood oozing from shoulder as I crashed threw a thorn bush, I slowed down thinking that the wolf got stuck in that bush but then It jumped out bearing it's thorny teeth growling and getting ready for one last leap to capture it's prey. My eyes were wide open I didn't know what to do, I watched as it launched it self to me and at last minute I put my hoof in front of my face hoping that it would hurt the wolf. I saw it's mouth latch on to my hoof as it tried to bite me, one of it's teeth got stuck in one of my holes and it couldn't get it's self out so it started to crunch my hoof . I couldn't feel a thing I just saw it and heard as it started to crunch my hoof, then the pain came as it reached my flesh. I screamed in pain, crying and trying to get it off of me, I tried to buck it but it didn't come of so I just concentrated and sent a small blast of magic towards it. It's face started to burn so it ripped a little bit of my hoof off and swung it's head in pain. I didn't care whether my hoof was ok or not I ran as fast as I could hoping to find a small clearing so I could fly away but I found none. My leg was starting to feel numb as I jumped over a big fallen tree and when I landed I was outside of the everfree forest. Behind me I heard loud barking so I looked in front of me a large orchard of apples lay ahead so I tried to fly but then I noticed that a huge thorn got stuck in my right wing making me unable to fly away. The adrenaline rush started to decrease and I felt my bodies pain, I tried to run a little bit farther before all the adrenaline was gone but I only got as far as the fence. In front of me was a large muscular red stallion starring at me, he showed no emotion and even though he was a pony that was probably afraid of me, I took my chances and I whispered "Help... please..." I heard the wolf howl and I looked behind me there it was the beast. I fell to the ground in fear and pain I could barely hold on to conciseness, my eye sight started to get foggy as I watched a large red silhouette jump over me, it was the stallion, I watched him fight the incoming timber wolves, one of them hit him really hard in his waist. Finally I gave out my eyes slowly closed as I watched him get up from the attack, then it all went black //-------------------------------------------------------// The shack chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// The shack chapter 6 I wasn't able to feel my legs especially my right one. I started to come to my senses when I heard a pony open an old creaky door as I opened my eyes slowly I noticed that I wasn't in a hut filled with jars and a cauldron in the middle of it, it was an old small house that had dust everywhere and old unused items scared along the walls. A large red stallion came threw the creaky door and I realized I was discovered by a pony, something I wished never happen for I was afraid that the ponies would all be afraid of me but he showed no fear, anger, well actually not an emotion at all. I tried to get up but I felt a terrible pain on my side on my side I looked to my side and I saw a bandage wrapped around my wing and chest. I sighed, so I just starred at him for a while when I remembered that he was the one fighting all those timber wolves, that's when I noticed a bandage around his chest too... I just looked down feeling his stare, I felt bad so I looked back up to him and said "I'm sorry for causing you trouble and an injury" He didn't say anything and just nodded slowly showing that he appreciated the apology. We starred at each other for awhile, it was silent as the night but it got interrupted when I heard a mare call from outside "Hey Big Mac where in tar nation are ya?" Big Mac hearing her call went outside trying not to make the door creak so much as it did when he came in. "Oh there ya are Big Mac I've been looking everywhere for ya." the voice came closer to the door "what were you doin' in that old shack?" she asked I was very curious about who this mare was but all I could do was listen to there conversation even though she did most of the talking. "Well never mind dat' let's go to that hill over there and enjoy the scenery plus I've got somin' to say ta' ya' " both of them started to trot to that hill which made them go in front of the small window beside my bed and there I saw the mysterious mare. She was an orange earth pony, with blonde hair, she had 3 apples as a cutie mark and a brown cow girl hat. they kept on trotting a long a small path when she stopped in front of an apple tree "Hey Big Mac ya think you can still apple buck?" He went to the tree beside the mare and kicked it with one hoof, only a few a apple's fell out and he twitched a little bit "Nope" he said as he picked up an apple and walked back to the shack I was in. He entered the shack not caring about the creaky door, he starred at me a little bit then I heard the mare following him so I hid under the dusty covers of the bed. "Aw Big Mac did you rescue a critter' from the timber wolves attack?" I could see through the covers that she peeked threw the door "Hehehe always helpin' something, wonder which critter' you rescued this time?" Big Mac grabbed one of the bowls lying around on the floor, he blew the dust of and then cleaned it with an old rag that was lying around. He placed the apple in the bowl and crushed it with his hoof, then left it there. The mare came in the shack and placed the bowl in front of the bed smiling, that's when I felt something tingle in my horn it sort of felt like the feeling I felt with Zecora when we were grabbing the colorful flower. Soon both of them left, I stayed under the covers until I couldn't hear their hoof steps. I came out and starred at the bowl beside the bed, it looked really appetizing so I lifted the bowl with my magic and placed it in front of my hooves, soon I was devouring the crushed apple. A few hours passed until the stallion came back with some water and I was worried that he would maybe tell the mare so I lifted y head from the pillow and looked at him as he placed the water in front of me, "Um your name is Big Mac right?" "Eeyup" he responded "I was wondering if maybe you could keep me a secret cause I don't want any other pony knowing about me..." It took him a while to respond so my guess was that he was deciding whether or not to keep me a secret so I hoped he did. It felt like forever until he finally said "Eeyup" and left. I was thinking about him after he left and I was starting to wonder why he wasn't afraid of me when he saw me, Could he have seen another changeling before? Maybe he's just used to seeing monsters from the Everfree forest, then again I do sort of look like a pony since I'm half but either way I'm a hybrid and I look like a monster. I left it at that and fell asleep. *** I woke up hearing ponies talk "Hey Pinkie Pie don't you ever wonder whats in that old shack?" "Nope. Why?" "I don't know I just feel like there's something in their, like I know were supposed to be helping Applejack but something is bothering me about it and I don't like it" "Well why don't you just ask Applejack if you can go in there?" "I guess so..." The conversation was starting to get me worried What if Applejack let's them come in? Will I be able to escape? My wing wasn't completely healed so I couldn't fly back to Zecora's hut, but maybe I could get away at night, my leg was basically healed I just had a scab on it. So I waited till night time to get away but then I noticed 2 ponies coming toward the shack, it was a blue mare with a rainbow mane and a pink mare with a curly pink mane. The rainbow maned mare reminded me of the teen that wanted to race me when I was a small filly. "Ooooh this is so exciting!" said the pink mare as she bounced beside the blue mare "Ya I'm so glad Applejack let us go in the shack it'll be even better since it's at night" I had no idea what to do they'll defiantly see my glowing eyes if I hide under the bed, unless I close them... Suddenly I heard another set of hooves running towards here it was coming from the opposite direction that the 2 mares were coming from. And then they got here they were right at the door ready to open them "Bet ya the door is gonna have a creak!" "Oh look it's Big Mac!" "Huh? What's he doing here?" The other set of hooves was Big Mac's? Is he going to stop them from coming in? I looked around the room looking for another exit, my only choice was the breaking the window But wouldn't they see me? I don't exactly have have black fur but I do have dark purple fur! I could still camouflage maybe they'll see me but they won't be able to catch me I think It was the perfect plan, I was getting ready to break the window when I heard Big Mac talk "No pony is goin' in the shack" "Why not? Applejack said you wouldn't mind since you let her in!" he didn't respond. This was my chance to escape I broke the window, jumped out and started to run "So their was something in their!" I looked back and I saw the rainbow maned mare start flying towards me, the Forest was 5 meters away and she was coming fast. "It's getting away!" I tried to run faster but my injured hoof didn't let me so I tried propelling my self with my good wing Almost their... Almost their... I was so close but the mare was right behind just a meter away from catching me. Finally I made it into the forest. "It got away..." said the mare I started to slow down so I could rest my leg, I started to walk see if I can find the way to Zecora's hut but I couldn't recognize anything and I couldn't fly up to look for her hut's chimney. I was lost completely lost could their really be away back to Zecora's hut? Author's Note Sorry it took so long for me to get this chapter done it's just that I've been really lazy lately sorry guys :( I'll try getting the next chapter done faster. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Water chapter 7 //-------------------------------------------------------// The Water chapter 7 I woke up with sound of a bird screeching, who knows what it was. But there I was little old me, under an everfree with no clue of how to get back to Zecora's hut. I wasn't even sure if Zecora was alright I hope she was or maybe I would of been alone forever. I sighed, once again I looked around hoping to find some sort of clue but of course there was none so I just wandered of in whatever direction I felt like going. After a few hours of walking I started to feel hungry so I looked around but other than unknown plants there was nothing. "Ooh, the one time I actually need help in finding my way out of something nobody is there to help, Horseapples!" I yelled in frustration. I sat down and starred at the fern in front of me or at least I thought it was a fern. I once again looked around and I saw a cliff just west of where I was, so I tried to find my way to it cause if I climb it I could probably see where Zecora's hut was! Even though my leg was injured I continued my way to it and when I finally reached it there was a huge cave entrance, my curiosity got to me and I went in. It was dark at first but then I saw a whole hoard of gems, And that meant: dragons. I started to smelled like fire wood and it was coming from right behind me, "WHY ARE YOU IN MY CAVE!!?" roared a green dragon "I-I..." I stuttered as I saw the ferocious dragon behind me "DID YOU PLAN TO STEAL MR GEMS!!?" "N-no! I-I just came in hear c-cause I was curious!" "LIES!!! YOU CAME TO STEAL MY GEMS FOR YOUR PESKY LITTLE NEEDS!!" even more smoke started to come from his nose. He was preparing to attack so I tried making a water barrier with the puddle that was near me but for some reason I couldn't grasp the water in fact I felt no magic at all instead I felt something different I felt something burning inside of me, it felt like magic yet it wasn't... Even so it was an emergency so I grasped that fire inside of me and led it to my horn and I started to see green sparks coming from my horn. The green dragon attacked and I just shut my eyes and let the fire take control, all I felt was a chill. When I opened my eyes again the dragon was shaking it's head in recovery, it had a huge black spot on his nose "YOU WILL PAY!!!" it roared in rage as it it got up Now I had nothing to defend myself with, I couldn't feel that strange fire anymore and I couldn't reach my magic. I took a step back, I splashed in the puddle and the I felt something come around me, it was the water. Suddenly I got submerged into the water, all I saw were bubbles and a transparent pony swim in front of me then I closed my eyes. *** I suddenly opened my eyes and in front of me I saw Zecora "Zecora? How did I get here?" "Are you alright? For it was quite a fright when I saw you unconscious at the pond." Zecora brushed my mane gently and smiled. I smiled back and gave her a hug. I saw some bandages around her neck "Are you ok Zecora? I'm sorry for leaving you behind like that... I should of stayed and helped you fight!" I felt guilty when I said that, I've always been a burden to her or at least that was what I felt. I explained to her what happened and she said that she just found me unconscious at the pond. As she was explaining to me what happened to her at the timber wolf attack, I recalled my memories that I was defiantly in the ferocious dragon's cave getting ready to be killed by the dragon but then I remembered that I stepped into the puddle and I drowned? Yet even though I clearly remember drowning in a puddle which made no sense I was still alive how did I do it? I asked myself After I chatted a little bit more with Zecora I went to the pond where she found me the day before, I starred at the water for a while but I couldn't see anything unusual, so I put my holed hoof in it and moved it around and I still couldn't feel anything wrong with the water yet I still had that feeling that something was there. After thinking about it for a while I just jumped into the pond for a little swim, that's when I felt it, I felt something that is impossible to explain in words it was like a feeling of joy, magic it was indescribable and then I heard an evil laugh of a mare in the distance it sounded rather strange so I ignored it. I continued to swim in the pond for a few more minuets and then I went back to my home in Zecora's hut. Huh. I never called Zecora's hut home I would just call it hut, guess I've just gotten used to this place. I wonder if I'll ever see Mom again... I can barely remember what it was like living in my old home, I hope it still there. But after I find my Mom would be able to go back home? I looked up to the sky as I said that suddenly having a great need to be with somepony so I rushed home and gave Zecora a hug.
