Harsh Memories

"Flitter!!" Rainbow Dash shouted, hugging her best buddy. It was seconds after the other ponies had apeared, and RD had leaped forward as soon as the hospital ponies had finished giing her a quick checkup.

"Dashie!!" Flitter Wing grinned, hugging her back. "Why are you here?!" The young pegusi mare added as she looked at Zecora, who was speaking to Nurse Redheart.

"Zecora told us where you were. She knew you were pregnant, she checked while you slept, and got the hospital ponies to come and check you up. You are ABUSED! Who did this to you?! How are you even PREGNANT!? Why are you even HERE?!?! This is the EVERFREE FOREST, Flitter!?!" Rainbow Dash asked, turning many heads, including Nurse Redheart's.

"I-I found an earth pony named Sweetcup who had run away from Apaloosa and re-named himself Stomper. He's grey, and he has a purple mane. His cutie mark is a flower, but he always paints over it to make it a rock. I was living in his apartment when I f-found that I was around 8 months in. He was really angry. He punched and bit me, then... then he kicked my stomach really hard, I passed out, and I awoke here." Flitter Wing wimpered, scared.

RD sighed. "Poor you! I can't believe someone could be so cruel! I'll get the equestrian police rounding up that horrible fella in no time!! I'm sure Fluttershy would help look after you!" The energetic pegusi mare leaped in the air, fluttering over to Nurse Redheart, and telling her the news.

The mare nodded, and helped Flitter get up. "Do you think you can fly?" She asked politely. Flitter Wing nodded. She flapped her wings. Suddenly a great pain fell onto her, the wieght falling of her shoulders and onto her hooves, and she collapsed in a great heap. Rainbow leaped to her side at once, helping her up.

"If you can't fly to Fluttershy's cottage, I'll walk there with you!" She pulled Flitter Wing's hoof over her shoulder, and took her best buddy's wieght.

"Rainbow Dash. I understand you completely. But she must have a checkup before she gets to go to Fluttershy's home in case she has broken any bones in her wings." Nurse Redheart explained. She carefully took Flitter's hoof off of Rainbow Dash's shoulder. Rainbow Dash leaped into the air, her eyes darting around, trying to look for something se could kick in fustration that wasn't a pony.

"You can go and and see your friends. We already have Rarity and Applejack's parents in hospital- they are around the same emount pregnant as your friend. I think they'll be delighted at the news of another foal being born." Nurse Redheart told her dismissing her. Rainbow Dash hesitated a second, as if she wanted to say more, but then zoomed out of the trees towards Ponyville.

"Now that she's gone, I shall break the news to you." Nurse Redheart sat next to Flitter, rubbing her back and leaning towards her as if she was about to be cried on.

"W-what news?" Flitter asked worriedly. She looked at Nurse Redheart. She stared into the nurse-ponies eyes. There she only saw worry, pain, ans sorrow. The news was obviously bad. Nurse Redheart, too a deep breath, and stsared back. What she saw was pain, like food poisoning in cake. But also some sugar. Sugar. Sugar was hope. The hope that burned in Flitter's sole, never dyig, which would be passed on the her child.

"Your foal will only be able to fly when she reaches adulthood."
