Twilight Sparkle trotted alone through the long hallways of the castle, as she and her friends had decided for the sake of time, to split up. As she went along through the labyrinth she continuously repeated Discord's riddle, trying to rack her brain for answers.

"An iron horse...flaxen tail...what in Equestria could that mean?" Twilight muttered to herself, bouncing potential answers around in her head. She soon came upon a large wooden door, she starred at it for a moment and tried to push it open; the door responded with a squeal due to poor upkeep and moved very little. She pushed it again, this time harder, the door made an ear splitting squeal in protest as it opened to reveal a colossal room filled to the ceiling with books. Twilight's eyes became dinner plates at the sight of the library, blood flew from her head at the excitement, causing her to stumble a bit before she could reassemble herself.

"There-are-no-words" Twilight said, awestruck at the magnificent sight before her. She began to delve into the contents of each book. about ten minutes later, she was horribly disappointed in the contents.

"There are no words!" Twilight shouted, the blood rushed to her now scrunched face as she impatiently flipped through another book to find it just like the others, completely empty.She glanced over her shoulder to see a book, sticking out of the shelf. She looked about then proceeded toward the bookcase, she grabbed the book and handled it clumsily with her hooves, as she usually manipulated objects through magic.Twilight flipped the book over and looked at the cover to find that the book actually had a title on the front, unlike all the others.

"Fifty Shades of Fabric, A Seamstresses Guide to Sewing." Twilight read aloud. She quickly flipped through it to discover that it also had words, unlike the others, she sat starring at the page in puzzlement. She wondered why that a sewing book was the only book in an entire library to have words, she closed the book and put it back on the shelf and turned to leave when another book fell from a shelf. She cocked her head to the side and meandered toward the book that lay open on the floor, she looked inside to see that it also had no words, but what it did have is a picture of some kind of symbol, a unicorn head facing off to the side with a red stone in the middle, there was more to the picture, but it looked as if the ink had worn from old age. Twilight felt something familiar about the picture, but couldn't place her hoof on it, she starred at it, waiting for an inspirational answer, she eventually she gave up the charade and trotted out of the room and down the hallway once more to continue searching for clues to solve Discord's Riddle.

Meanwhile, Rarity strolled through the hallways with her head held high, her tail and mane bouncing as she went along. She went around many corners and through many doors, all of which seemed endless to Rarity. Eventually she came upon a dead end. Rarity looked about for another hallway, but the only way was the long hallway behind her, which lead back to the main hall.

"Really, all these dreadful hallways just to end here." Rarity said gruffly. just before she left, something on the wall caught her eye, it was a brick, a brick on the wall that was a slightly darker shade of gray. Rarity approached the wall again and looked closely at the spot. Upon further examination she found that the brick also had no mortar surrounding it. Rarity tapped it out of curiosity, soon the sound of tumblers could be heard through the wall, not long afterwards the wall began to move slowly out of the way. This was a cleverly hidden doorway that would have fooled most ponies, but Rarity had an eye for shades of color, and this was no exception. The door slid away to open up the hallway into a large room, Rarity prudently stepped inside, she gasped at what she saw inside, she sat, paralyzed at the sight of a room with gorgeous velvet and rich purple tapestries that hung from the walls, the red carpet that covered the floors and the beautiful chandelier that hung from the ceiling, Rarity was dumbfounded at the majesty of the room before her. Rarity couldn't restrain herself from looking around and began to gleefully trot around the room, marveling at the decorations, and completely forgetting the task at hand.

"Oh my...these decorations are magnificent, just look at the Ponician Purple, and that beautiful chandelier!" Rarity admired out loud, completely distracted by the gorgeous decorations. Rarity gawked for some time at the ornaments, in the midst of her admiration she found a necklace that matched her tastes so accurately, that she took it and wore it around the room as she continued admiring the decorations. She was so distracted that she lost track of time before Twilight entered the room from a door on the left, Twilight looked around for a moment before she noticed something glittering in her peripherals, she turned her head to see Rarity sitting on a finely crafted purple pillow with gold trim. Rarity, however, hadn't even noticed Twilight, even when she had been starring in Twilight's direction.

"Rarity, what are you doing?" Twilight asked when she noticed Rarity was completely focused on something else. Rarity, gasped and jolted slightly like she had been startled, afterwards she noticed Twilight and jumped up in a poor attempt to look like she had been doing something useful.

"uhh...nothing...he he." Rarity said nervously as she bounced her mane with her hoof. Twilight shook her head in disapproval, but she couldn't really complain, as the library would have distracted her just as much as Rarity was, if there had been words in the books.

"Rarity, did you check that room?" Twilight asked as she pointed at the door across from herself.

"umm...no." Rarity said, a bit ashamed at being so easily distracted from the duty at hand. Rarity ambled to the room and pushed it open, she peered into a dimly lit room with shelves packed with sewing machines.

"There's nothing in here but sewing machines, and dust." Rarity said as she winced at the sight of the storage room. Twilight thought for a moment and suddenly lit up as if getting an epiphany, Twilight was beginning to see a pattern, but she had to be sure of her findings.

"C'mon, let's go find the others, I think I know what Discords riddle is." Twilight said as she left the room with Rarity.

While Twilight and Rarity wondered aimlessly through the maze of hallways, Pinkie Pie was traversing a room filled with confectionery treats from all over Equestria, from a fountain that spewed chocolate to a tar pit of taffy, nothing could compare to Pinkie's excitement and happiness at this moment.

"Oh my gosh! this is the best place ever!!" Pinkie exclaimed as she dove into a gigantic apple pie, she popped back up with a mouthful of pie filling, happily devouring as much of the sweet syrup and apple chunks as possible before finding another new treat to engorge herself with. Pinkie Swallowed her mouthful of pie and looked about the room, suddenly a shelf caught her eye, she focused on the shelf and gasped as she saw one of her favorite treats since she was a filly.

"Horsies Kisses!" Pinkie Exclaimed as she jumped from the pie and bounced over to the shelves, she wasted no time and grabbed a hoof-full off of the shelf and stuffed them into her mouth; when the rich milk chocolate and the cherry filling hit her tongue, she fell back in shock from the purely magical flavor. As she lay on the ground in bliss, Rarity and Twilight entered the room to find her on the floor covered in an array of fillings and sweets with a look of utter joy on her face

"Eww...Pinkie, darling, why are you covered in...muck?" Rarity asked as she backed away, realizing that Pinkie's coat was covered with many different types of melted sweets. Twilight however, ignored Pinkie's messy body and questioned her.

"Pinkie, was there anything in this room that was odd or out of place?" Twilight asked, raising a hoof in question. Pinkie Pie grabbed another kiss and chewed over her thoughts.

"Oh, there was a room in the back, but when I went in all i saw was an unfinished quilt." Pinkie said, the chocolate still in her mouth. Twilight thought about how it could be related to the other clues, but when nothing came to mind, she continued questioning Pinkie.

"Anything else?" Twilight asked, raising her brow.

"There was a sewing kit next to it." Pinkie said as she swallowed her treat, she then proceeded to grab several more.

"Ah-ha, I think I've got it!" Twilight exclaimed with excitement, "Let's go get Applejack and Rainbow Dash." Twilight said as she led Rarity and Pinkie out of the room and down the hallways. Rarity spoke up as they trotted down the long and confusing labyrinth of halls.

"Aren't we forgetting Fluttershy?" Rarity asked, raising her brow and cocking her head towards Twilight

"No, I think I know where Fluttershy is." Twilight said as they continued to canter through the castle.

"Oh, oh, look, this is priceless." Discord exclaimed as he began to laugh at Twilight's expression when she found yet another book that was empty. Fluttershy sat on a floating pillow next to Discord's throne and giggled at the sight.

"Oh my goodness, I've never seen Twilight so confused before." Fluttershy said with a smile. she usually didn't enjoy pranks and jokes at other ponies' expense, but she found that Discord's jokes on her friends were harmless and cute, so she laughed along.

"Let's check on what Rainbow Dash has been doing, shall we?" Discord suggested, Fluttershy, who was curious, and a bit nervous about what Discord had prepared, nodded in agreement.

Discord snapped his fingers and brought up a clip of Rainbow Dash Indulging herself with a Daring-Do novel that had yet to be written, giggling like a school girl as she read, Discord laughed at how odd Rainbow Dash could be when she wasn't brandishing bravado around. Fluttershy, however, wasn't very impressed, she found this joke to be a breech in her friend's privacy, rather than an innocent joke like the others, but she didn't voice this opinion, instead, she simply remained quiet and frowned. Discord noticed Fluttershy's discontent with his joke on Rainbow Dash and decided to try again at entertaining his friend.

"Alright Fluttershy, this is why Celestia wont let me stay in the palace anymore." Discord said with a grin as he snapped his fingers and pulled up a clip of Celestia waking up in the morning and heading for the bathroom. Celestia entered the bathroom and cased a bucket of water that had been on the doorway to fall on top of her head, dumping all of the water onto the floor, the video revealed Discord and Luna in the background laughing hysterically, Celestia, who wasn't amused at all, removed the bucket and turned toward them, glaring at the mischievous pair with her brow low and a scowl of disapproval. Discord gave a strained laugh as he relived the moment once more.

"It was worth it to spread a little chaos." Discord said to himself.

"Oh my..." Fluttershy said,covering her mouth with her hoof, astonished at what she had just witnessed.

"So tell me my dear, where in the world did you get that little temper of yours?" Discord asked, referring to her recent outburst.

"Well, I don't know, I just get really upset when ponies are mean to one another." Fluttershy said lowering her head and burying her face in her mane.

"Well, that's one way to end an argument, it most certainly worked." Discord said. several seconds went by before he heard hoof steps down one of the hallways. "It looks like your friends have figured out the riddle." Discord added as the ponies came rushing into the throne room. Discord stood before them, making random sounds by clapping his hands together.

"Well well well, did you solve my little riddle?" Discord asked with a smirk.

"Yes we did, the iron horse with a flaxen tail is none other than...a sewing needle." Twilight said as Applejack dropped a pack of sewing needles on the floor.

"Yes ladies, that was the answer, you win. ask me anything." Discord said standing up and taking a sarcastic bow. Rainbow Dash didn't waste a moment after he finished and spoke up.

"Why can't you just end this?" Rainbow Dash asked with some irritation in her voice.

"Simple, even my powers have their limits, you see I couldn't defeat him without help, and his own amulet was all the help I needed to oust him, you see, he always wore this amulet that stored all of his stolen magic, he may have had more raw power than I, but he was no match for my sheer cunning, as he never expected to be turned into magic, thus trapping him in his own necklace. After I assumed control, I took it and hid it away somewhere I expected it to remain. Although I didn't expect Celestia and Luna either, so somepony found it...what was that name of it?" Discord pondered for a minute on his question, he rambled names under his breath before remembering what he had forgotten, "Oh yes, the Alicorn Amulet." Discord said nonchalantly, the ponies gasped at the mention of the infamous name.

"The Alicorn Amulet was a prison?" Twilight asked, fraught with worry.

"Yes, anypony that wears it is corrupted, but granted unimaginable power, he was the magic in the amulet, and anypony that uses it, releases him a bit more, eventually releasing him completely to conquer and rule once more if enough ponies wear it. I assume it was worn recently?" Discord said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, it was worn by Trixie to get revenge on us, " Twilight said. Remembering the magic duel with Trixie a few months prior.

"Then I suggest you waste no time and find the amulet before he does." Discord said as he sat back down.

"But if he was in the amulet, wouldn't he already have it?" Applejack asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

"No, no, you're thinking about it wrong, he was trapped as pure magic, little pieces would escape every time somepony cast a spell, they would all rally somewhere, restoring him back to the pony he once was." Discord explained.

"And where, exactly, would somepony like him go?" Rainbow Dash inquired sternly.Discord pondered for a moment on the question and replied.

"Knowing Malignis...his Palace in the Everfree Forest." Discord said tapping his fingers on the arm rest of his throne. Twilight thought for a moment about what to do next, whenever her thoughts were organized she spoke up.

"Alright girls, we're headed to Zecora's place." Twilight announced.

"Why Zecora's?" Rarity asked.

"Because Zecora is the last pony we left the Amulet with, remember?" Twilight said. She began to leave the castle when she stopped, like she had forgotten something. She turned around and looked at Discord. "Thank you for the help." Twilight added sincerely.

"Glad to be of assistance, ladies... I will leave you and all of your friends with a parting gift, as a thanks in return for being such good sports." Discord said as he snapped his fingers, a bright flash blinded everypony for several seconds. When everypony could see again, they found themselves on the edge of the Everfree Forrest.

"Well that was useful, saved us some time." Applejack said.

"Alright girls, let's use the time Discord saved us and get in there!" Twilight announced as she trotted in, the others followed her closely.

Author's Note

Oh man, Reformed Discord's character was tough to nail down, and the pacing was also pretty difficult, but I think it turned out pretty well. I hope you do too, enjoy the new Chapter, I should have a new one up within a week!
