Always Overcast

"He's gone? What do you mean he's gone?" I asked nervously

"He and a squad went back to Hill in an attempt to assassinate Twilight." Enclave said.

I was furious. An assassination attempt was damn near suicidal, and I would not let my friend die because of Enclave's ignorance.

I had to resist the urge to kill Enclave then and there.

"He'll be back soon, don't worry." Enclave said.

I began to walk towards the giant door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Enclave asked.

"I'm going back to Hill." I said.

"No." he replied "You have to stay, the AA activity is way to high right now."

I turned around and managed to punch in in his face.

"If you think I'm just going to sit here with my hoof up my ass than you have another thing coming." I said.

Enclave stood up, wiping blood from his face, "Not a bad punch," he said, "For a mare."

"ENCLAVE!" I heard a voice say.

A battered and scratched mare ran up to Enclave.

"We failed, and they took Meltdown and the others to be vaporized!" the mare said.

My rage began to build, Striker's was to, I could see it.

I ran over to the armory and slammed a bag of bits on the counter, "Give me the best weapons you have." I said.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Enclave said.

I didn't respond, I got my guns and trotted away.

I began to inspect some of the weapons, I had two pistols, two assault rifles, and a shit ton of ammo. Striker was following me to the opposite end of the station, where the tunnels continued.

"Is there a way to get into the vaporization chambers?" I said to a blue stallion standing at the door.

"Yes, but you have to go through several sub-tunnels that are filled with those, spider things." he said.

"I don't care," I said, "Just give me a map and open the damn gate.".

He handed me a small map, and began to turn a large crank.

I noticed Enclave standing behind me.

"You must know this is suicide right?" he said.

I turned to him, "Oh, and sending Meltdown to assassinate Twilight isn't?" I asked.

He said nothing, he just looked at me with a blank expression.

I turned back around. The blackness of the tunnel greeted me.

I turned my headlamp on, and began to walk, Striker right by my side.

It was time to strike.
