Chapter1: the immortal warrior
The Everfree forest, the most feared area in all of Equestria, home to some of the most dangerous creatures and plants.
At the edge of said forest in the middle of the night a bipedal figure appears, its entire body covered in a cloak while its head was covered with cloth twisted around with bits of white hair sticking out. The only thing that showed were its lavender irises, and two slender swords that were strapped to its sides.
The figure looked to the north trying to get its bearings, it spots a small village and its eyes slide into a weary gaze. “how long have I been away?” the figure said in a slightly weary male voice, he then stares hard in the distance and shakes his head “she will be surprised to see me after so long, I still want answers and confronting her in front of everyone means she has no escape this time” with that said the man makes his way forward to the town as the sun makes its way into the sky.

The man had just set foot in the town when the sun rose over the mountains, he walked down the street looking at the buildings but paying no mind to the ponies that ran and hid in fear. another thing was that the ponies were humanoid but still retained most of their pony forms.
He was just making his way past a library that was inside of an ancient oak when he heard somepony call in his direction, he looked back to see a lavender unicorn mare standing behind him, she stood about 5'5", had a purple mane with a pink streak going through it, was wearing a white undershirt and blue sweater vest with a six point magenta star on the front and a blue jean knee length skirt and she was staring at him with a mixed look of fear and intrigue.
He stood there for a moment collecting her thoughts, when she said “um, excuse me but I've never seen something like you before, what are you exactly?”.
he raised an eyebrow but simply said “you wouldn’t believe me if I told you”.
She waited for a moment, thinking he was going to say something else but soon realized that he wasn’t so she said “um, ok so what brings you to Ponyville?”.
he looked right at her and said “so that’s what its called, I am just passing through to have a serious chat with a certain somepony, in a certain castle” the mare looked scared but he ignored it before he left he said “and what may your name be young one?”.
she was taken aback but she responded “my name is twilight sparkle and yours?”.
he turned around and said one word “Drizzt” with that he walked off towards the capital of Equestria, Canterlot.

As he walks through the gates of the city he notices that there are very few ponies out at this time of day which was unusual for such a large city, he was instantly on guard watching to see if there was going to be an ambush.
Halfway down the street he can see the large doors of the castle, there were four guards standing vigilant watching for danger, he made his way towards them when one of the guards spotted him. He was a few dozen feet from them when the guard said “stay were you are creature, or we will use deadly force to do so for you”.
he raised an eyebrow thinking 'hmm that twilight must of tipped her off' he then gave a serious glare and said “I request an audience with your princess, for I have a serious matter to settle with her”.
the guard looked hard at him and said “we only let those with a prier appointment see the princess, you shall not pass” the figure grinned under the hood as he watched the guards form a simple formation.
One that was far to easy for him to break " I tried to be civil but you leave me no choice, I will see the princess whether or not you allow me” he said and started walking forward.
"take him down!!" commanded the first guard, the guards sprang into action, two drawing swords while the other two used spears aiming for vital areas. As they got closer the man went into a blur of motion and stood behind the guards who had shocked looks on their faces “w-what w-was t-that?” said the first guard as they all fell to the ground unconscious.
the man sighed and just shrugged, walking through the doors saying "I warned them”.

'Finally' he thought. He had beaten many guards some were surprisingly fast as one was able to take the cloth from his head freeing his long white hair, pointed ears and ebony skinned face with a decent sized white beard. After making many guards go unconscious with no unneeded bloodshed what so ever he finally made it to the throne room, he put his hands on the giant doors and pushed.
On the other side were more guards, but his attention went past them and settled on the Alicorn behind them, she was wearing her royal regalia consisting of her crown, necklace and a white dress with gold embroidering, his eyes hardened and he strode forward stopping a few dozen feet from the first guard, looking straight at the princess.
He gave a slight chuckle as he said “well, well if it isn’t princess Celestia her self, you should really tell your guards to relax, I simply wished to discuss some matters with you” he said getting a raised eyebrow from the princess.
“And what matters might those be?, I don’t remember dealing with one such as yourself” she said.
He grew angry that she had forgotten him “you wound me Celestia, its been ages since we last saw each other”.
She looked at him with confusion “we have met before?” now he was getting really angry, but he tossed it away before it could manifest.
He gave a sad look at her then said “yes we knew each other very well, you could almost say we were best friends back then, but that was before the indecent” he said weariness evident in his voice, the guards were preparing for any sudden movements.
He looked at them and noticed that in front of the princess were six mares five with necklaces and one with a tiara, he noted that the one with the tiara was twilight sparkle the same one he ran into on his way there.
“You should remember that incident well, for I tried to stop you from making a mistake” he clenched his fists in anger now, the memory flooding back of that fateful day.
Shaking a little from his rage he continued "I tried to reason with you but you wouldn’t listen. I left for an important mission and came back only to find out that you SENT YOUR SISTER TO THE DAMN MOON” he was visibly shaking now and Celestia's eyes went wide with understanding, then her head fell with sadness.
The rainbow maned mare gave him a scowl yelling “hey nopony talks to the princess like that!” the man then gave her a penetrating glare, that of which could silence a dragons roar, which made her shut up real quick.
Celestia looked up seeing the cold fury in his eyes, “now I know who you are, how could I have ever forgotten” she said with a sad tone, he gave an emotionless chuckle.
“Well what do you know, the princess actually recognizes her own faults after a thousand years” she looked away for a moment shame clear upon her face, but looked at him again when he said “I left after that day, I didn’t want to look at you, I despised you for doing such a thing, the years went by and it wasn’t until recently that I wanted answers."
his face turned towards Celestia upturned in a snarl of anger, eyes locking onto Celestia's own "So here’s the big question, why Tia, WHY DID YOU DO IT!!” the rage and sadness in his eyes and voice showed that he wanted answers.
she looked down for a moment the six in front of her had there mouths open because they have only heard Luna call her such.
Celestia took a slow breath and looked at him with sorrow, “I did not want to, I really did not, but at the time while you were gone she had fully transformed into the nightmare. And it was all I could do to keep her in the castle without using to much force, she would not listen to reason and many guards suffered her wrath."
her eyes began to water as she told him of her failure, "I did not know how much longer it would take and by that time I had no other choice, I had to use the elements and imprison her in the moon, if I had known you were here I would have waited” she said this with a couple of tears going down her face.
The man stared hard and could see no lies in her words, he reached his hands to the sword grips on his left and right side and unsheathed them, showing everypony present the beautiful yet deadly forms of icingdeath and Twinkle, he swung them around holding the tips facing the stone floor then proceeded to stab both blades into the floor.
The guards instantly pulled their weapons but were bewildered that he disarmed himself in such a way, the six in front of Celestia also tensed not expecting the sudden action.
His eyes never left Celestia as he said “Tia, you know as well as I do that you cannot lie to me, and because of that I see no lies, but I also see that you are keeping something from me, so I will ask only once” he took a deep breath and bent to one knee and bending over in defeat, with his neck exposed and hands out in front keeping him off the floor saying “please bring back lulu, she was one of the only ones that truly understood me besides yourself”.
The guards and the mane six were dumbfounded, here was clearly a warrior who had bested many of the castle guards kneeling and begging, in a position that left his guard down for Luna to be free from her prison.
Celestia smiled and said “I can do better than that” she motioned to a guard to retrieve her sister, he saluted and left, 10 minutes later he returned with a tired Luna in tow she was wearing a set of star pajamas and she had lazily stuck her tiara on her head.
“Sister why did you wake me at such a ghastly hour, thou knows we need our sleep” she said as she walked over to the thrones.
“lulu, is that you?” she stopped recognizing the voice and looked around noticing the dark figure surrounded by guards standing in the throne room.
“D-Drizzt?” she asked hoping that it might be who she thought it was, he stood up shakily giving Luna a better view of his face
Luna looked for a long while then slowly walked past the guards toward him, tears flowing down her face “Drizzt is that really thee?”.
Her face then hardened as she said “if it really is, then we want proof that thou are not an imposter, for only the real Drizzt would know what we are talking about” her eyes never left his form as he reached inside his cloak bringing forth a statuette of a panther.
setting it on the ground he steps back and looking at Luna says “lulu, you really did like to play around with her”.
He then looks back to the figurine saying “it is time to say hello to an old friend Guenhwyver” a black mist surrounds the figurine making the guards raise their weapons and the mane six to gasp in fright thinking it was dark magic.
The mist then solidifies into the form of a great panther, making many of the guards eyes go wide in fear as it walks towards the mysterious Drizzt and nuzzles him.
Drizzt smiles at the panther “it has been a while old friend but there is another who wanted to see you, best not keep her waiting” Guenhwyver nods in understanding as she pads over to Luna.
The guards instantly jump in front of Luna, preventing the panther from getting closer but Luna scoffs and pushes through them to stand before the great panther, she brings a hand out and starts scratching her behind her ears as she purrs in contentment.
she smiled and looked at Drizzt and finally noticed some thing different “you know the beard doesn’t work for you drizzy” she said giggling at the fur on his face, he started with a chuckle then went to full blown laughter.
He eventually stopped and walked over and hugged the moon princess “it is good to see you again after so long lulu” he said Luna pats his back in comfort as they stand there with Drizzt letting a single tear fall from his eye.
