Especially RainbowDash, she knew a big event was taking today. Fluttershy, however, didnt know. RainbowDash flew over to her cottage. Fluttershy was showing Discord how to properly feed the animals. A few weeks earlier Celestia said that Discord missed Fluttershy, and she came up with the conclusion to let Discord live with Fluttershy. "Ok Discord, remember, you cannot shove the food right at them, you just gently place the bowl (KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK) Understand?" Fluttershy asked Discord. "I have to place the bowl where now?" Discord asked scratching his head. "You place it right (KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK)." Fluttershy said. "Where exactly is knock knock knock?" Discord asked. "Huh?" Fluttershy said. She heard knocking. "Fluttershy! Open up!" Said a voice behind the door. "I'll get it." Discord said, approaching the door. Fluttershy nodded, hoping he wouldnt do something wrong. Discord opened the door. RainbowDash immediately went into combat mode. "Discord! What have you done with Fluttershy?! Did you invade her house again?!" RainbowDash questioned. She hadn't gotten used to the fact Discord was living with Fluttershy. "I live here, and it would be polite if you didnt use such rude positions!" Discord said using his finger to gently push RainbowDash to the ground. "Who are you to talk to me about being rude!" RainbowDash argued. "RainbowDash, is that you?" Said a voice behind Discord. "Ha! I knew it, you tied her up again, didnt you?!" RainbowDash again questioned. Fluttershy poked her head from behind Discord. "Oh hi RainbowDash, how nice of you to stop by." Fluttershy said. "How nice? I am here to defend you from this fiend!" RainbowDash said glaring at Discord. "Oh Discord's not a fiend, he lives with me. Were friends." Fluttershy said. "How could you be friends with THAT?!" RainbowDash questioned. "The same way you befriended a cloud when everyone ignored you." Discord said. "That was different! The cloud was nice and comfy! You are scaley and evil!" RainbowDash argued. Discord sighed and went back inside. "Discord can be very sweet once you know him well enough." Fluttershy said. "Well anyway, I was wondering if you knew what was going on this afternoon." RainbowDash said. "Pinkie Pie is going to try to read a coupon?" Fluttershy asked. "No...thats tomorrow...today is the great pegasi competition!" RainbowDash said eagerly. "Uhh...right...you see...I am busy later doing.....laundry...so I can't....make it...sorry." Fluttershy said slowly backing into the cottage. "Oh no you don't, Fluttershy, you have to attend, its required for all pegasi to compete, if you dont you will have to live in the Everfree forest for a month." RainbowDash lied. "I can stay with Zecora, she's nice." Fluttershy said. "Zecora left to gather more supplies, she won't be back for a couple weeks." RainbowDash lied again. "Oh dear, I don't want to live in the everfree forest." Fluttershy said quietly. "Then you must enter the competition! Even if you win last place, you will be able to stay in your cottage." RainbowDash assured her. "Well, I don't know, I guess I can-" "GREAT! Cya at the starting line in downtown ponyville, Fluttershy!" RainbowDash winked and flew off. "See you aswell." Fluttershy squeaked quietly. When she walked in the animals were eating and Discord was watching his tv he spawned. "Good job on giving them the food Discord." Fluttershy said happily. "No biggy." Discord said. He snapped and a pink cloud appeared beside him. He got himself a cup and held it under the cloud. The cloud rained some dark liquid. The cloud disappeared when the cup was full. "Want some?" Discord asked Fluttershy. "No thank you i'm....on a diet." Fluttershy said. "A diet? Really? Your skinny, cmon try it!" Discord insisted. "Ok maybe just a sip." Fluttershy said, taking the cup. She took a small sip. "That was good, what was it?" Fluttershy asked. "Coffee, I drink it every morning with sugar, milk, and extra caffiene." Discord said smiling. Fluttershy's eyes widened. "So I will get *gulp* hyper?" Fluttershy asked. "No you only took a small sip, nothing should happen, only thing is that you will see some things other people find hard to see." Discord said. "Umm...alright." Fluttershy said. "I have to get prepared for a competition that is gonna be held today." Fluttershy said. "Really? Can I join?" Discord asked eagerly. "No, its only for Pegasus Ponies. Fluttershy said. "Then I will cheer you on!" Discord said. "Oh you dont have to do that." Fluttershy said with her shy smile. "It only seems right to do it for the pretty pony Fluttershy." Discord said. "Oh stop it." Fluttershy said blushing. She gave Discord a hug. "Ok, I will see you at the competition." Fluttershy said. "Good luck!" Discord said happily. Fluttershy smiled and went into her room to change. "I hope I can make myself look atleast a little good for the competition, but I dont want to have stallions mooning over me, I just want to be good enough so no one will make fun of me when I lose." Fluttershy said to herself. "Alright, lets see, I could, no....maybe I could...no.....maybe if I...no... Hmm... (Some time of messing around.) "That looks perfect!" Fluttershy told her reflection. It looked exactly like she did before. "Well, I should get there early." Fluttershy said. She walked towards the living room and saw Discord already left. "Well I guess I will see him there." Fluttershy said, and she walked out of her cottage, on the way to ponyville. The Big RaceFluttershy casually walked towards Ponyville. She looked at the clocktower. The race wasnt supposed to start until 2 hours. She decided she would go see Twilight. While she was walking she noticed a lot of ponies weren't preparing for the race. She guessed they didnt know about it. Right when she was close to Twilight's home Pinkie Pie bounded in front of her. "Hi Fluttershy!" Pinkie yelled out loud. "Hi Pinkie." Fluttershy murmured. Pinkie could just spawn out of nowhere, that did get scary after a while. "So Fluttershy , how are you doing? How are the animals? Is Discord behaving? Did you two fall in love? Did you get less shy? Or did you become more? I think it might have been more, is it true? Huh? Huh? DID YOU DIE?!" Pinkie questioned. "Im doing just fine, and so are the animals, Discord is being nice, no were not in love, I didnt get less shy or more shy, and if I died would I be here?" Fluttershy said. "Hmm.....is that a trick question?" Pinkie asked. Fluttershy sighed. "I was going to go see Twilight until you stopped me." Fluttershy said. "Really? Well Twilight isnt home, she went to Canterlot, Princess Celestia said it was urgent." Pinkie explained. "Did Twilight tell you that?" Fluttershy asked. "Nope! I found out myself." Pinkie said. "Well I am going to go see Rarity." Fluttershy said, backing away. "Ok, bye!" Pinkie said, and bounced away. (Timelapse) "Thanks for everything, Rarity." Fluttershy thanked Rarity. "Your welcome, and remember! Try not to get dirty!" Rarity called. "I won't!" Fluttershy replied. Rarity had given her a necklace with an emerald on it. Fluttershy liked it. "All Pegasi ponies please come to DownTown Ponyville!" Said a voice. "Oh, I hope im not late." Fluttershy said, running towards the starting line. There she saw a whole bunch of pegasi ponies. Some where flying while others where on the ground, about to sprint. "Hi Fluttershy! Glad you could make it." Said a voice behind her. She turned and saw a pony she never saw. The pony was a mare, and a pegasus. "Oh hi, what is your name? If, of course, if its ok to tell me." Fluttershy said. "My name is Spitfire, I am the captain of the wonderbolts." Spitfire said. "Oh, it is a great honor to be in your presence." Fluttershy said. "I've heard a bit about you, that you became an expert with animals, and I decided to come here and see how you fly as a pegasus." Spitfire said. "And it is a great honor for me to be in your presence, after all you wield the element of kindness, which is a great deal. It is an honor to be in any of the elements' wielders presence." Spitfire said. Fluttershy slightly blushed. "Oh thats very nice of you, Spitfire." Fluttershy said "Ok everypony! Get ready for the race to begin!" Said the announcer. "Are you going to compete?" Fluttershy asked. "No, i'm just here to observe." Spitfire said. "I have to go, good luck Fluttershy!" Spitfire said walking towards the place where everyone is watching. "Bye Spitfire!" Fluttershy said waving. "On your marks!" Fluttershy bent down. "Get set." Fluttershy stretched open her wings. "3, 2, 1.....GO!" Fluttershy started running forward for a moment along with the other pegasi, when they started to fly, she started too. They had to follow a trail that goes straight into a nearby forest (not the everfree), it turnes slightly right, then sharply left, then forward for a bit then it goes left again, goes south for a while, bends around ponyville, and goes downtown ponyville for the finish line. Fluttershy wasnt in last place, she saw a few more ponies behind her. She smiled and kept going. After a long while of running she slowed down. She was a bit tired. She walked for a while. The ponies behind her passed by. "Oh well, atleast they wont be in last place." Fluttershy said. While she was walking she noticed it got darker and darker. She stopped and looked around. She saw a small trail in the forest. Something told her to go down the trail. As she walked down the trail she looked around cautiously. It was very dark even though it was the middle of the day. She closed her eyes and walked forward so she wouldnt have to see the darkness. After a little while she ran into something. She opened her eyes and saw four pillars forming a big square and in the middle was a platform. Fluttershy walked on the platform. She looked around and saw a sign on one of the pillars. She read it aloud. Thou shall not fail Thou has failed enough This time thou shall succeed And others shall honor thou. "Hmm...i don't get it." Fluttershy said. She was about to walk away until she saw blue lines forming around her, the blue lines got thickers and thicker until they all connected. "This is just a dream." Fluttershy said, shutting her eyes. After a few moments everything went silent. Fluttershy opened her eyes. She was near downtown ponyville. She looked behind her. She saw a faint trail of dust far behind her. Fluttershy began to fly towards the finish line. She glanced behind her, and she saw the pony that was behind her, RainbowDash. Fluttershy flew a bit faster. She closed her eyes until she felt something soft on her neck. It was the ribbon the winner would crash through. "Whoa look at that! Fluttershy won the race!" Said the announcer. Everyone was cheering. "Hooray Fluttershy! Congratulations! Good job Fluttershy!" Everyone was congratulating her. She rubbed her left hoof shyly and smiled. She walked out of the walkway just as the other pegasi flew in. After about a minute all the pegasi had made it in. "Yes! I won! Wooo!" Said a familiar voice. Fluttershy recognized that voice as RainbowDash. After everypony settled in, the announcer added 3 platforms, the one on the right was smallest, the one on the left was bigger, and the middle one was the biggest. They had their labels too. The smallest one had 3rd written on it, the left one had 2nd, and the middle had 1st. "In third place is: Dawntalon!" Once she said that a reddish orange pony came and sat on the 3rd place platform. "In second place is: RainbowDash!" RainbowDash flew into the air. "WHAT?! How could I lose?! Who beat me?!" RainbowDash yelled, and she sat on the 2nd place platform with a bummed face. "And in first place is: Fluttershy!" "WHAAAAT?!?! HOW COULD FLUTTERSHY WIN?! SHE CAN BARELY STRETCH HER WINGS!!!" RainbowDash yelled. Fluttershy sat on the middle column. "It's ok RainbowDash, atleast you got second." Fluttershy said. "Oh shut it." RainbowDash murmured. Later that day...Around 7:00p.m the party Pinkie was talking about started. Everyone came, even RainbowDash, but RainbowDash didn't want to play any of the games Pinkie had, she just read Daring Do. The party was huge, there were a bunch of games, loud music, bungee jumping, and other fun stuff. RainbowDash didn't do any of that. "RainbowDash? You feelin' all right?" Applejack asked. "Yup, i'm feeling just great." she said, not looking up from her book. "Well, Pinkie was hoping that you would do one of them sonic rain booms later today." Applejack said. "Well why don't you have Fluttershy do it? After all she is so fast." RainbowDash said, still not looking up. "Rainbow, you know she can't make a rain boom like yours, Pinkie said you should do it, you are the only one who can do a rainbow one, in fact you might be the only one who can actually do one." Applejack explained. "Fluttershy had seen me do them a million times, i'm sure she could do one." RainbowDash said, turning a page in her book. "RainbowDash, what's gotten into ya? Your acting as strange as a billy goat with a lame secret." Applejack said. "Well, i'm not convinced that Fluttershy is faster than me, you saw her last week, she couldn't fly fast when we all needed her to, I was the one who stepped in and helped." RainbowDash said, looking up at her, glaring. "That's what all this is about? Just because she beat you in that silly old race?" Applejack asked. "Not only that, she got to join the wonder bolts! the most elite fliers in Equestria! You know how much I wanted to join, I could never imagine a weak pegasus like Fluttershy to be a wonder bolt!" RainbowDash yelled at her. "Rainbow, your overreacting, all this happened just by chance, if Fluttershy is destined to become a wonder bolt, and your not, then so be it, theres a lot of things I wanted to do, and some pony who no one could ever imagine doing it did it, how do you think I felt? I didn't like it, but I just had to deal with it, Rainbow you must do the same." Applejack explained. "Hmph, whatever, i'll deal with it the way I will do it, who are you to preach to me your old western gossip?" RainbowDash asked, looking back to her book. Applejack smacked the book out of her hooves. "You listen to me and you listen good, I am your friend, I tell you all this 'gossip' because I don't want you to suffer, but if that is what you want, to suffer, then so be it. Your not being a very good friend here." Applejack said. She glared at RainbowDash for a little bit then walked off. "Amateur." RainbowDash scoffed, she got her book and continued reading. A little while later she felt a tap on her back, she turned and saw Pinkie. "Pinkie what do you want?" RainbowDash asked. "Well, since you don't want to do a rain boom I was hoping you would want to play pin the tail on the donkey!" Pinkie said, bouncing around RainbowDash. "I'm not in the mood." RainbowDash said. "Then lets do bungee jumping!" Pinkie said again. "Pinkie no." RainbowDash said. "Aww c'mon Dashie! Be more fun!" Pinkie said. "Why? Aren't I fun enough?" RainbowDash asked. "You can never be too fun!" Pinkie said. "Whatever, Pinkie." RainbowDash said. "Dashie whats wrong with you? You are acting wierd. Is it the food? I told Pound cake and pumpkin cake not to add too much pepper to the muffins." Pinkie said. "Its not that, it's just I am not convinced that Fluttershy is faster than me." RainbowDash said. "So the food is okay?" Pinkie asked. "I don't......yes it is." RainbowDash said. "Well, maybe you should tell Fluttershy how you feel." Pinkie said. "I dont know Pinkie, I guess i'll just do it my way." RainbowDash said. "Well good luck with that!" Pinkie said, and bounced off. RainbowDash continued reading. Eventually she got up to go to the bathroom. She didnt find one. She went to the nearest pony she could find. Twilight. "Uhh, Twilight, where is the bathroom I really gotta use it." RainbowDash said. "Oh I don't think there is one here, ask Pinkie." Twilight said, and went back to talking with other ponies. RainbowDash sprinted towards Pinkie's location. "Pinkie, where is the bathroom?" RainbowDash squeaked. "Oh I don't have one anymore! I found out toilets are overrated." Pinkie said. RainbowDash sprinted outside. She immediately flew as fast as she could to Cloudsdale. After 10 seconds she made it. She immediately flew to her house. She flew to her bathroom. She then remembered her bathroom didnt work. "AAAAAHHHH STUPID LUCK!" RainbowDash yelled. She flew out and back to ponyville. She went to the ponyville's public bathrooms. When she opened the door she saw a wet floor sign. It was being cleaned. "AAAHH STUPID BATHROOMS!!!" RainbowDash yelled. "What do I have to do? Pee on a tree? Wait a second...that's it! Why didnt I do that in the first place?" RainbowDash said, flying out of ponyville. She flew about a kilometer away. She was in a prairie, no trees. "AAAHHH STUPID PRAIRIE!" RainbowDash yelled. She flew back to ponyville. She hid in an ally. "Why is this happening?" RainbowDash asked herself. She couldnt hold it anymore. She looked at the entrance of the allyway. She didn't see anyone. She turned around and... "HI RAINBOWDASH!" Squealed Pinkie. RainbowDash leaped 12 feet in the air. "PINKIE! Dont do that..." RainbowDash barely manages to gasp. "Oh i'm so sorry! I saw you dashing around and wondered what you were doing." Pinkie said. "I'm trying to find a bathroom, i havent done my business yet, and ALL THE BATHROOMS I KNOW OF ARE NOT USABLE!" RainbowDash yelled. "Well, why don't you go right here?" Pinkie asked. "I can't. Your standing right there staring at me." RainbowDash said. "Sorry, your face is just so funny!" Pinkie said laughing. Something about that made RainbowDash feel uncomfortable. Her urge went away. "On second thought, I don't have to go anymore." RainbowDash said. "I'm gonna get some sleep." RainbowDash said. She flew away to her house in Cloudsdale. "Okee dokie lokie! Goodnight Dashie!" Pinkie yelled, and she hopped away. A day with SpitfireFluttershy woke up with a start. She had a nightmare where she was performing as a wonderbolt, but something happened and she saw everyone with angry faces. They started hurtling rocks at her until one hit her wing extremely hard. She was sweating. "Whew....it was just a dream." She sighed in relief. She saw Discord asleep on 'his' couch. She was careful not to wake him when she walked out of the room. She did her usual routine; brush her teeth, straighten her mane and tail, refill the food bowls for the animals, get herself some food, and just enjoy one of the comedy books Twilight gave her. A few moments later Discord woke up. He did his usual routine; drink chocolate milk, check his face for achne, sharpen his talon, mess with Angel, and turn on his television to watch his favorite show: Two and a half ponies. Fluttershy didn't like the show much, so he watched it when she was busy. "Oh ho ho! That was priceless! Ah ha ha! He got hit by a tomato ha ha ha!" Discord chanted as he watched his show. When Fluttershy finished reading she looked at the time. "Oh! I have to go meet Spitfire in 5 minutes! Discord is it okay if you teleport me? That is if your ok...of course." She asked politely "Sure thing! I'll stay here and- BAHAHAHAHA he fell down a hole!" He laughed then snapped his fingers. In a second Fluttershy was teleported to the resturant Spitfire wanted to meet her at. Fluttershy saw Spitfire at a nearby table. As she approached Spitfire saw her. "Hi Fluttershy, why don't you have a seat?" Spitfire asked. Something in Fluttershy's head was telling her she shouldn't be here, RainbowDash should've been the victor, she should've become a wonderbolt, not Fluttershy. Fluttershy should've just stayed at her cottage with Discord and her animals. Fluttershy took a seat on the little stump. "Ok, today you will start your training..." Fluttershy flinched. "You will have to do an obstacle course." "Um, Spitfire? Can I tell you something about what happened in the race?" Fluttershy asked. "Sure thing, what happened?" Spitfire asked. "Well, when I was walking, I-" Fluttershy was interrupted by a bolt of lightning striking the table. She looked up and saw Derpy peering from ontop a cloud. "Oh, sorry Fluttershy, got a little carried away." Derpy said, smiling nervously as she flew to a different cloud. "Anyway, when I was walking, I-" She was interrupted by an explosion behind her. She turned and saw Pinkie messing around with what looked like....fireworks? "Hey! You did it right Gummy!" She said to her pet alligator, that was gnawing on a firework string. Fluttershy turned back to Spitfire. "When I was-" She was tackled off her seat. It was Applejack. "Fluttershy! Fluttershy! Come quick! Rainbow has been injured! She wants to see ya right at this moment!" Applejack said. "But I was..." "No time! Just come on!" Applejack said, grabbing her hoof and dragging her to the pond. When they arrived RainbowDash was laying down, eyes closed. "Rainbow! Fluttershy is here!" Applejack said. "Come close Fluttershy. I want...to talk to you alone." RainbowDash said weakly. "I'll leave y'all alone." Applejack said, walking away. Fluttershy took a few steps closer. RainbowDash waited a bit, then flew into Fluttershy's face. "Now tell me, you little scamp, what did you do during the race?" RainbowDash ask fiercely, Fluttershy shrank back. "Your gonna sit there and spill the beans. What method of cheating did you use?" RainbowDash asked, glaring. "I....I was walking and then I found this trail that took me to a...well a portal. I read the...sign and it tele...teleported me to the...finish line." Fluttershy said, wide-eyed. "ARGH! If you dont wanna tell me! Then fine! But try not to lie! I will find out, and I will catch you in your little act, and I WILL report you to the wonderbolts!" RainbowDash said. Fluttershy gulped as RainbowDash flew away. Spitfire was waiting for Fluttershy when she came back. "Sorry, Spitfire, friendly problems." Fluttershy said, sitting down. "Okay, now what did you want to tell me?" Spitfire asked. "What I wanted to say is-" "That Fluttershy would LOVE to join the wonderbolts and do all your intense training!" Said a voice behind her. Fluttershy turned and saw RainbowDash. What is she trying to pull off now? Fluttershy thought. "Fluttershy told me that she would definitely become a wonderbolt, since it is indeed an amazing honor that anypony would be very happy to have." RainbowDash said, winking at Fluttershy. Fluttershy shyly rubbed one hoof with another. "Well, since you seem very interested in the wonderbolts, your in the wonderbolts, and you can forget the training, you'll have enough practice from our pre-preformances." Spitfire said. "Wait what?" Fluttershy and RainbowDash both said at the same time. Fluttershy, come to the wonderbolt academy tomorrow at 8:00 a.m, we'll interview you and see what goes on in your little head." Spitfire said. "Well, Fluttershy, RainbowDash, i'll see you later!" Spitfire said, flying off. Fluttershy and RainbowDash turned to each other. "I'll be watching you, Fluttershy. And if I see you betray the Wonderbolt Code, you will be sorry." RainbowDash said, and she flew off to a faraway cloud. "Oh what am I gonna do?" Fluttershy murmured to herself. Welcome, FlutterboltFluttershy was a little scared of everyone cheering her. She did have stagefright, and standing in a tall platform in frint of everyone else was frightening. She saw Discord cheering her. She was glad he could make it. "Alright everyone, calm down, a special pony will be giving out awards." The announcer said. "Please welcome, Spitfire!" The crowd went crazy as Spitfire casually walked towards the third place platform. "DawnTalon, for you getting 3rd place, I will award you with a bronze trophy and 2 tickets to the next wonderbolts performance." Spitfire said, giving DawnTalon his awards. DawnTalon nodded. "Thank you, Spitfire." "And RainbowDash, your award for 2nd place is a silver trophy and a day for you to be able to hang out with the wonderbolts when we are not busy." Spitfire said. RainbowDash managed to force a smile on her face. "Thank you." She said. "And Fluttershy, for your amazing results of 1st place, you will get a gold trophy..." She sat the trophy beside Fluttershy, and she sat a costume in front of her. Fluttershy picked it up. "Is this a wonderbolts uniform?" Fluttershy asked. Spitfire nodded. "Fluttershy, I was impressed by our results, so I must ask you, would you like to join the wonderbolts?" RainbowDash's mouth was wide open. "Oh, well, I am deeply honored, Spitfire, but this is a hard decision." Fluttershy said. "Take your time." Spitfire said. Fluttershy thought about it for a while. "Spitfire, I would be honored to join the wonderbolts." Fluttershy said. Everyone cheered. RainbowDash just let out a bummed moan. "Wait a minute everypony." Said a voice behind everyone. They all turned. "Twilight!" Fluttershy said. "I heard the news that Fluttershy won the great pegasus competition, and I wanted to congratulate her." Said Twilight. "Oh, thank you Twilight, I am deeply honored." Fluttershy said. The purple alicorn walked over to Fluttershy. "Good job Fluttershy, you too RainbowDash." Twilight said. "Oh so NOW someone notices me." RainbowDash said. Twilight looked at her. "I mean, thanks Twilight." RainbowDash said. "Guess what Twilight, i've been invited to join the wonderbolts." Fluttershy said. "Congratulations Fluttershy." Twilight said. Behind them a pink figure leaped into the air. "PARTY TIME!!!!" Yelled a familiar voice. It was Pinkie. She walked over to all of them. "We have to throw you a party Fluttershy, you totally aced that race!" Pinkie said. "Oh, thank you pink-" "AND EVERYONE IS INVITED!" Pinkie yelled. Everyone cheered. "I'll be seeing YOU at the party," Pinkie said, staring at Fluttershy. "I'll try to make it." Fluttershy said.

Discord asked scratching his head. "You place it right (KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK)." Fluttershy said. "Where exactly is knock knock knock?" Discord asked. "Huh?" Fluttershy said. She heard knocking. "Fluttershy! Open up!" Said a voice behind the door. "I'll get it." Discord said, approaching the door. Fluttershy nodded, hoping he wouldnt do something wrong. Discord opened the door. RainbowDash immediately went into combat mode. "Discord! What have you done with Fluttershy?! Did you invade her house again?!" RainbowDash questioned. She hadn't gotten used to the fact Discord was living with Fluttershy. "I live here, and it would be polite if you didnt use such rude positions!" Discord said using his finger to gently push RainbowDash to the ground. "Who are you to talk to me about being rude!" RainbowDash argued. "RainbowDash, is that you?" Said a voice behind Discord. "Ha! I knew it, you tied her up again, didnt you?!" RainbowDash again questioned. Fluttershy poked her head from behind Discord. "Oh hi RainbowDash, how nice of you to stop by." Fluttershy said. "How nice? I am here to defend you from this fiend!" RainbowDash said glaring at Discord. "Oh Discord's not a fiend, he lives with me. Were friends." Fluttershy said. "How could you be friends with THAT?!" RainbowDash questioned. "The same way you befriended a cloud when everyone ignored you." Discord said. "That was different! The cloud was nice and comfy! You are scaley and evil!" RainbowDash argued. Discord sighed and went back inside. "Discord can be very sweet once you know him well enough." Fluttershy said. "Well anyway, I was wondering if you knew what was going on this afternoon." RainbowDash said. "Pinkie Pie is going to try to read a coupon?" Fluttershy asked. "No...thats tomorrow...today is the great pegasi competition!" RainbowDash said eagerly. "Uhh...right...you see...I am busy later doing.....laundry...so I can't....make it...sorry." Fluttershy said slowly backing into the cottage. "Oh no you don't, Fluttershy, you have to attend, its required for all pegasi to compete, if you dont you will have to live in the Everfree forest for a month." RainbowDash lied. "I can stay with Zecora, she's nice." Fluttershy said. "Zecora left to gather more supplies, she won't be back for a couple weeks." RainbowDash lied again. "Oh dear, I don't want to live in the everfree forest." Fluttershy said quietly. "Then you must enter the competition! Even if you win last place, you will be able to stay in your cottage." RainbowDash assured her. "Well, I don't know, I guess I can-" "GREAT! Cya at the starting line in downtown ponyville, Fluttershy!" RainbowDash winked and flew off. "See you aswell." Fluttershy squeaked quietly. When she walked in the animals were eating and Discord was watching his tv he spawned. "Good job on giving them the food Discord." Fluttershy said happily. "No biggy." Discord said. He snapped and a pink cloud appeared beside him. He got himself a cup and held it under the cloud. The cloud rained some dark liquid. The cloud disappeared when the cup was full. "Want some?" Discord asked Fluttershy. "No thank you i'm....on a diet." Fluttershy said. "A diet? Really? Your skinny, cmon try it!" Discord insisted. "Ok maybe just a sip." Fluttershy said, taking the cup. She took a small sip. "That was good, what was it?" Fluttershy asked. "Coffee, I drink it every morning with sugar, milk, and extra caffiene." Discord said smiling. Fluttershy's eyes widened. "So I will get *gulp* hyper?" Fluttershy asked. "No you only took a small sip, nothing should happen, only thing is that you will see some things other people find hard to see." Discord said. "Umm...alright." Fluttershy said. "I have to get prepared for a competition that is gonna be held today." Fluttershy said. "Really? Can I join?" Discord asked eagerly. "No, its only for Pegasus Ponies. Fluttershy said. "Then I will cheer you on!" Discord said. "Oh you dont have to do that." Fluttershy said with her shy smile. "It only seems right to do it for the pretty pony Fluttershy." Discord said. "Oh stop it." Fluttershy said blushing. She gave Discord a hug. "Ok, I will see you at the competition." Fluttershy said. "Good luck!" Discord said happily. Fluttershy smiled and went into her room to change. "I hope I can make myself look atleast a little good for the competition, but I dont want to have stallions mooning over me, I just want to be good enough so no one will make fun of me when I lose." Fluttershy said to herself. "Alright, lets see, I could, no....maybe I could...no.....maybe if I...no... Hmm... (Some time of messing around.) "That looks perfect!" Fluttershy told her reflection. It looked exactly like she did before. "Well, I should get there early." Fluttershy said. She walked towards the living room and saw Discord already left. "Well I guess I will see him there." Fluttershy said, and she walked out of her cottage, on the way to ponyville.
The Big RaceFluttershy casually walked towards Ponyville. She looked at the clocktower. The race wasnt supposed to start until 2 hours. She decided she would go see Twilight. While she was walking she noticed a lot of ponies weren't preparing for the race. She guessed they didnt know about it. Right when she was close to Twilight's home Pinkie Pie bounded in front of her. "Hi Fluttershy!" Pinkie yelled out loud. "Hi Pinkie." Fluttershy murmured. Pinkie could just spawn out of nowhere, that did get scary after a while. "So Fluttershy , how are you doing? How are the animals? Is Discord behaving? Did you two fall in love? Did you get less shy? Or did you become more? I think it might have been more, is it true? Huh? Huh? DID YOU DIE?!" Pinkie questioned. "Im doing just fine, and so are the animals, Discord is being nice, no were not in love, I didnt get less shy or more shy, and if I died would I be here?" Fluttershy said. "Hmm.....is that a trick question?" Pinkie asked. Fluttershy sighed. "I was going to go see Twilight until you stopped me." Fluttershy said. "Really? Well Twilight isnt home, she went to Canterlot, Princess Celestia said it was urgent." Pinkie explained. "Did Twilight tell you that?" Fluttershy asked. "Nope! I found out myself." Pinkie said. "Well I am going to go see Rarity." Fluttershy said, backing away. "Ok, bye!" Pinkie said, and bounced away. (Timelapse) "Thanks for everything, Rarity." Fluttershy thanked Rarity. "Your welcome, and remember! Try not to get dirty!" Rarity called. "I won't!" Fluttershy replied. Rarity had given her a necklace with an emerald on it. Fluttershy liked it. "All Pegasi ponies please come to DownTown Ponyville!" Said a voice. "Oh, I hope im not late." Fluttershy said, running towards the starting line. There she saw a whole bunch of pegasi ponies. Some where flying while others where on the ground, about to sprint. "Hi Fluttershy! Glad you could make it." Said a voice behind her. She turned and saw a pony she never saw. The pony was a mare, and a pegasus. "Oh hi, what is your name? If, of course, if its ok to tell me." Fluttershy said. "My name is Spitfire, I am the captain of the wonderbolts." Spitfire said. "Oh, it is a great honor to be in your presence." Fluttershy said. "I've heard a bit about you, that you became an expert with animals, and I decided to come here and see how you fly as a pegasus." Spitfire said. "And it is a great honor for me to be in your presence, after all you wield the element of kindness, which is a great deal. It is an honor to be in any of the elements' wielders presence." Spitfire said. Fluttershy slightly blushed. "Oh thats very nice of you, Spitfire." Fluttershy said "Ok everypony! Get ready for the race to begin!" Said the announcer. "Are you going to compete?" Fluttershy asked. "No, i'm just here to observe." Spitfire said. "I have to go, good luck Fluttershy!" Spitfire said walking towards the place where everyone is watching. "Bye Spitfire!" Fluttershy said waving. "On your marks!" Fluttershy bent down. "Get set." Fluttershy stretched open her wings. "3, 2, 1.....GO!" Fluttershy started running forward for a moment along with the other pegasi, when they started to fly, she started too. They had to follow a trail that goes straight into a nearby forest (not the everfree), it turnes slightly right, then sharply left, then forward for a bit then it goes left again, goes south for a while, bends around ponyville, and goes downtown ponyville for the finish line. Fluttershy wasnt in last place, she saw a few more ponies behind her. She smiled and kept going. After a long while of running she slowed down. She was a bit tired. She walked for a while. The ponies behind her passed by. "Oh well, atleast they wont be in last place." Fluttershy said. While she was walking she noticed it got darker and darker. She stopped and looked around. She saw a small trail in the forest. Something told her to go down the trail. As she walked down the trail she looked around cautiously. It was very dark even though it was the middle of the day. She closed her eyes and walked forward so she wouldnt have to see the darkness. After a little while she ran into something. She opened her eyes and saw four pillars forming a big square and in the middle was a platform. Fluttershy walked on the platform. She looked around and saw a sign on one of the pillars. She read it aloud. Thou shall not fail Thou has failed enough This time thou shall succeed And others shall honor thou. "Hmm...i don't get it." Fluttershy said. She was about to walk away until she saw blue lines forming around her, the blue lines got thickers and thicker until they all connected. "This is just a dream." Fluttershy said, shutting her eyes. After a few moments everything went silent. Fluttershy opened her eyes. She was near downtown ponyville. She looked behind her. She saw a faint trail of dust far behind her. Fluttershy began to fly towards the finish line. She glanced behind her, and she saw the pony that was behind her, RainbowDash. Fluttershy flew a bit faster. She closed her eyes until she felt something soft on her neck. It was the ribbon the winner would crash through. "Whoa look at that! Fluttershy won the race!" Said the announcer. Everyone was cheering. "Hooray Fluttershy! Congratulations! Good job Fluttershy!" Everyone was congratulating her. She rubbed her left hoof shyly and smiled. She walked out of the walkway just as the other pegasi flew in. After about a minute all the pegasi had made it in. "Yes! I won! Wooo!" Said a familiar voice. Fluttershy recognized that voice as RainbowDash. After everypony settled in, the announcer added 3 platforms, the one on the right was smallest, the one on the left was bigger, and the middle one was the biggest. They had their labels too. The smallest one had 3rd written on it, the left one had 2nd, and the middle had 1st. "In third place is: Dawntalon!" Once she said that a reddish orange pony came and sat on the 3rd place platform. "In second place is: RainbowDash!" RainbowDash flew into the air. "WHAT?! How could I lose?! Who beat me?!" RainbowDash yelled, and she sat on the 2nd place platform with a bummed face. "And in first place is: Fluttershy!" "WHAAAAT?!?! HOW COULD FLUTTERSHY WIN?! SHE CAN BARELY STRETCH HER WINGS!!!" RainbowDash yelled. Fluttershy sat on the middle column. "It's ok RainbowDash, atleast you got second." Fluttershy said. "Oh shut it." RainbowDash murmured.
Later that day...Around 7:00p.m the party Pinkie was talking about started. Everyone came, even RainbowDash, but RainbowDash didn't want to play any of the games Pinkie had, she just read Daring Do. The party was huge, there were a bunch of games, loud music, bungee jumping, and other fun stuff. RainbowDash didn't do any of that. "RainbowDash? You feelin' all right?" Applejack asked. "Yup, i'm feeling just great." she said, not looking up from her book. "Well, Pinkie was hoping that you would do one of them sonic rain booms later today." Applejack said. "Well why don't you have Fluttershy do it? After all she is so fast." RainbowDash said, still not looking up. "Rainbow, you know she can't make a rain boom like yours, Pinkie said you should do it, you are the only one who can do a rainbow one, in fact you might be the only one who can actually do one." Applejack explained. "Fluttershy had seen me do them a million times, i'm sure she could do one." RainbowDash said, turning a page in her book. "RainbowDash, what's gotten into ya? Your acting as strange as a billy goat with a lame secret." Applejack said. "Well, i'm not convinced that Fluttershy is faster than me, you saw her last week, she couldn't fly fast when we all needed her to, I was the one who stepped in and helped." RainbowDash said, looking up at her, glaring. "That's what all this is about? Just because she beat you in that silly old race?" Applejack asked. "Not only that, she got to join the wonder bolts! the most elite fliers in Equestria! You know how much I wanted to join, I could never imagine a weak pegasus like Fluttershy to be a wonder bolt!" RainbowDash yelled at her. "Rainbow, your overreacting, all this happened just by chance, if Fluttershy is destined to become a wonder bolt, and your not, then so be it, theres a lot of things I wanted to do, and some pony who no one could ever imagine doing it did it, how do you think I felt? I didn't like it, but I just had to deal with it, Rainbow you must do the same." Applejack explained. "Hmph, whatever, i'll deal with it the way I will do it, who are you to preach to me your old western gossip?" RainbowDash asked, looking back to her book. Applejack smacked the book out of her hooves. "You listen to me and you listen good, I am your friend, I tell you all this 'gossip' because I don't want you to suffer, but if that is what you want, to suffer, then so be it. Your not being a very good friend here." Applejack said. She glared at RainbowDash for a little bit then walked off. "Amateur." RainbowDash scoffed, she got her book and continued reading. A little while later she felt a tap on her back, she turned and saw Pinkie. "Pinkie what do you want?" RainbowDash asked. "Well, since you don't want to do a rain boom I was hoping you would want to play pin the tail on the donkey!" Pinkie said, bouncing around RainbowDash. "I'm not in the mood." RainbowDash said. "Then lets do bungee jumping!" Pinkie said again. "Pinkie no." RainbowDash said. "Aww c'mon Dashie! Be more fun!" Pinkie said. "Why? Aren't I fun enough?" RainbowDash asked. "You can never be too fun!" Pinkie said. "Whatever, Pinkie." RainbowDash said. "Dashie whats wrong with you? You are acting wierd. Is it the food? I told Pound cake and pumpkin cake not to add too much pepper to the muffins." Pinkie said. "Its not that, it's just I am not convinced that Fluttershy is faster than me." RainbowDash said. "So the food is okay?" Pinkie asked. "I don't......yes it is." RainbowDash said. "Well, maybe you should tell Fluttershy how you feel." Pinkie said. "I dont know Pinkie, I guess i'll just do it my way." RainbowDash said. "Well good luck with that!" Pinkie said, and bounced off. RainbowDash continued reading. Eventually she got up to go to the bathroom. She didnt find one. She went to the nearest pony she could find. Twilight. "Uhh, Twilight, where is the bathroom I really gotta use it." RainbowDash said. "Oh I don't think there is one here, ask Pinkie." Twilight said, and went back to talking with other ponies. RainbowDash sprinted towards Pinkie's location. "Pinkie, where is the bathroom?" RainbowDash squeaked. "Oh I don't have one anymore! I found out toilets are overrated." Pinkie said. RainbowDash sprinted outside. She immediately flew as fast as she could to Cloudsdale. After 10 seconds she made it. She immediately flew to her house. She flew to her bathroom. She then remembered her bathroom didnt work. "AAAAAHHHH STUPID LUCK!" RainbowDash yelled. She flew out and back to ponyville. She went to the ponyville's public bathrooms. When she opened the door she saw a wet floor sign. It was being cleaned. "AAAHH STUPID BATHROOMS!!!" RainbowDash yelled. "What do I have to do? Pee on a tree? Wait a second...that's it! Why didnt I do that in the first place?" RainbowDash said, flying out of ponyville. She flew about a kilometer away. She was in a prairie, no trees. "AAAHHH STUPID PRAIRIE!" RainbowDash yelled. She flew back to ponyville. She hid in an ally. "Why is this happening?" RainbowDash asked herself. She couldnt hold it anymore. She looked at the entrance of the allyway. She didn't see anyone. She turned around and... "HI RAINBOWDASH!" Squealed Pinkie. RainbowDash leaped 12 feet in the air. "PINKIE! Dont do that..." RainbowDash barely manages to gasp. "Oh i'm so sorry! I saw you dashing around and wondered what you were doing." Pinkie said. "I'm trying to find a bathroom, i havent done my business yet, and ALL THE BATHROOMS I KNOW OF ARE NOT USABLE!" RainbowDash yelled. "Well, why don't you go right here?" Pinkie asked. "I can't. Your standing right there staring at me." RainbowDash said. "Sorry, your face is just so funny!" Pinkie said laughing. Something about that made RainbowDash feel uncomfortable. Her urge went away. "On second thought, I don't have to go anymore." RainbowDash said. "I'm gonna get some sleep." RainbowDash said. She flew away to her house in Cloudsdale. "Okee dokie lokie! Goodnight Dashie!" Pinkie yelled, and she hopped away.
A day with SpitfireFluttershy woke up with a start. She had a nightmare where she was performing as a wonderbolt, but something happened and she saw everyone with angry faces. They started hurtling rocks at her until one hit her wing extremely hard. She was sweating. "Whew....it was just a dream." She sighed in relief. She saw Discord asleep on 'his' couch. She was careful not to wake him when she walked out of the room. She did her usual routine; brush her teeth, straighten her mane and tail, refill the food bowls for the animals, get herself some food, and just enjoy one of the comedy books Twilight gave her. A few moments later Discord woke up. He did his usual routine; drink chocolate milk, check his face for achne, sharpen his talon, mess with Angel, and turn on his television to watch his favorite show: Two and a half ponies. Fluttershy didn't like the show much, so he watched it when she was busy. "Oh ho ho! That was priceless! Ah ha ha! He got hit by a tomato ha ha ha!" Discord chanted as he watched his show. When Fluttershy finished reading she looked at the time. "Oh! I have to go meet Spitfire in 5 minutes! Discord is it okay if you teleport me? That is if your ok...of course." She asked politely "Sure thing! I'll stay here and- BAHAHAHAHA he fell down a hole!" He laughed then snapped his fingers. In a second Fluttershy was teleported to the resturant Spitfire wanted to meet her at. Fluttershy saw Spitfire at a nearby table. As she approached Spitfire saw her. "Hi Fluttershy, why don't you have a seat?" Spitfire asked. Something in Fluttershy's head was telling her she shouldn't be here, RainbowDash should've been the victor, she should've become a wonderbolt, not Fluttershy. Fluttershy should've just stayed at her cottage with Discord and her animals. Fluttershy took a seat on the little stump. "Ok, today you will start your training..." Fluttershy flinched. "You will have to do an obstacle course." "Um, Spitfire? Can I tell you something about what happened in the race?" Fluttershy asked. "Sure thing, what happened?" Spitfire asked. "Well, when I was walking, I-" Fluttershy was interrupted by a bolt of lightning striking the table. She looked up and saw Derpy peering from ontop a cloud. "Oh, sorry Fluttershy, got a little carried away." Derpy said, smiling nervously as she flew to a different cloud. "Anyway, when I was walking, I-" She was interrupted by an explosion behind her. She turned and saw Pinkie messing around with what looked like....fireworks? "Hey! You did it right Gummy!" She said to her pet alligator, that was gnawing on a firework string. Fluttershy turned back to Spitfire. "When I was-" She was tackled off her seat. It was Applejack. "Fluttershy! Fluttershy! Come quick! Rainbow has been injured! She wants to see ya right at this moment!" Applejack said. "But I was..." "No time! Just come on!" Applejack said, grabbing her hoof and dragging her to the pond. When they arrived RainbowDash was laying down, eyes closed. "Rainbow! Fluttershy is here!" Applejack said. "Come close Fluttershy. I want...to talk to you alone." RainbowDash said weakly. "I'll leave y'all alone." Applejack said, walking away. Fluttershy took a few steps closer. RainbowDash waited a bit, then flew into Fluttershy's face. "Now tell me, you little scamp, what did you do during the race?" RainbowDash ask fiercely, Fluttershy shrank back. "Your gonna sit there and spill the beans. What method of cheating did you use?" RainbowDash asked, glaring. "I....I was walking and then I found this trail that took me to a...well a portal. I read the...sign and it tele...teleported me to the...finish line." Fluttershy said, wide-eyed. "ARGH! If you dont wanna tell me! Then fine! But try not to lie! I will find out, and I will catch you in your little act, and I WILL report you to the wonderbolts!" RainbowDash said. Fluttershy gulped as RainbowDash flew away. Spitfire was waiting for Fluttershy when she came back. "Sorry, Spitfire, friendly problems." Fluttershy said, sitting down. "Okay, now what did you want to tell me?" Spitfire asked. "What I wanted to say is-" "That Fluttershy would LOVE to join the wonderbolts and do all your intense training!" Said a voice behind her. Fluttershy turned and saw RainbowDash. What is she trying to pull off now? Fluttershy thought. "Fluttershy told me that she would definitely become a wonderbolt, since it is indeed an amazing honor that anypony would be very happy to have." RainbowDash said, winking at Fluttershy. Fluttershy shyly rubbed one hoof with another. "Well, since you seem very interested in the wonderbolts, your in the wonderbolts, and you can forget the training, you'll have enough practice from our pre-preformances." Spitfire said. "Wait what?" Fluttershy and RainbowDash both said at the same time. Fluttershy, come to the wonderbolt academy tomorrow at 8:00 a.m, we'll interview you and see what goes on in your little head." Spitfire said. "Well, Fluttershy, RainbowDash, i'll see you later!" Spitfire said, flying off. Fluttershy and RainbowDash turned to each other. "I'll be watching you, Fluttershy. And if I see you betray the Wonderbolt Code, you will be sorry." RainbowDash said, and she flew off to a faraway cloud. "Oh what am I gonna do?" Fluttershy murmured to herself.
Welcome, FlutterboltFluttershy was a little scared of everyone cheering her. She did have stagefright, and standing in a tall platform in frint of everyone else was frightening. She saw Discord cheering her. She was glad he could make it. "Alright everyone, calm down, a special pony will be giving out awards." The announcer said. "Please welcome, Spitfire!" The crowd went crazy as Spitfire casually walked towards the third place platform. "DawnTalon, for you getting 3rd place, I will award you with a bronze trophy and 2 tickets to the next wonderbolts performance." Spitfire said, giving DawnTalon his awards. DawnTalon nodded. "Thank you, Spitfire." "And RainbowDash, your award for 2nd place is a silver trophy and a day for you to be able to hang out with the wonderbolts when we are not busy." Spitfire said. RainbowDash managed to force a smile on her face. "Thank you." She said. "And Fluttershy, for your amazing results of 1st place, you will get a gold trophy..." She sat the trophy beside Fluttershy, and she sat a costume in front of her. Fluttershy picked it up. "Is this a wonderbolts uniform?" Fluttershy asked. Spitfire nodded. "Fluttershy, I was impressed by our results, so I must ask you, would you like to join the wonderbolts?" RainbowDash's mouth was wide open. "Oh, well, I am deeply honored, Spitfire, but this is a hard decision." Fluttershy said. "Take your time." Spitfire said. Fluttershy thought about it for a while. "Spitfire, I would be honored to join the wonderbolts." Fluttershy said. Everyone cheered. RainbowDash just let out a bummed moan. "Wait a minute everypony." Said a voice behind everyone. They all turned. "Twilight!" Fluttershy said. "I heard the news that Fluttershy won the great pegasus competition, and I wanted to congratulate her." Said Twilight. "Oh, thank you Twilight, I am deeply honored." Fluttershy said. The purple alicorn walked over to Fluttershy. "Good job Fluttershy, you too RainbowDash." Twilight said. "Oh so NOW someone notices me." RainbowDash said. Twilight looked at her. "I mean, thanks Twilight." RainbowDash said. "Guess what Twilight, i've been invited to join the wonderbolts." Fluttershy said. "Congratulations Fluttershy." Twilight said. Behind them a pink figure leaped into the air. "PARTY TIME!!!!" Yelled a familiar voice. It was Pinkie. She walked over to all of them. "We have to throw you a party Fluttershy, you totally aced that race!" Pinkie said. "Oh, thank you pink-" "AND EVERYONE IS INVITED!" Pinkie yelled. Everyone cheered. "I'll be seeing YOU at the party," Pinkie said, staring at Fluttershy. "I'll try to make it." Fluttershy said.
