Chapters "Welcome to Equestria Labs Twilight Sparkle"
That's what she heard every time she came to the lab. She's been hearing those same annoying words for 3 years straight. "Huh" thought Twilight aloud, "it's really been 3 years since I’ve graduated from under Celestia’s tutelage." As Twilight thought about the years that had gone by she never noticed the griffon in the research and development labs looking over the newest of Equestrian weapons development. As the griffon was looking through all the different files and at all the hardware in the lab he never once thought about how drastic every little action he did truly was and how severely and drastically they would alter the future of not only Equestria or his own kingdom, but every other kingdom and land to be on the whole of Equis.
[POV Twilight Sparkle]
"As I continued to think and make my way to my office I couldn't help but think of my friends back in Ponyville. It's been such a long time since I've been able to see them. I just wish I didn’t have to be as far away as Fillydelphia."
[POV third person]
Twilight finally made it to her office and sat down to be met with a stack of paperwork 3 feet high and no coffee to be seen. "Celestia dammit where’s that fucking intern" Twilight swore. Just then a large explosion knocked her out of her chair and into the wall across the room. Twilight hesitantly rose from the floor and reached for her phone to call security. "You mind telling me what in Tartarus that was." Twilight screamed, on the other end of the line was an Earth pony named Steel Virtue. "We believe a spy may have infiltrated the base to acquire information and set off a bomb as a diversion in the weapons research and development labs." Steel clarified "I already have a squad of guards there who have confirmed it was a spy but we have no idea what race they are or if the suspect is even a pony." "Thank you Steel" responded Twilight, she then hung up her phone and slouched in her chair to try and keep calm. It was just then that Twilight remembered something.
[Flashback 5 min. ago POV Twilight]
"I can't believe it's really been 3 years since I’ve graduated I thought a loud". Out of the corner of my eye I saw inside the research and development labs what was strange about that is who I saw but yet what I saw. A griffon was in my labs, I didn't really pay any attention to it because an inspector was coming today so I brushed it off and hurried to my office to wait for him.
[Present POV third person]
"OH MY CELESTIA!!!!!!!!!! SILVER QUILL!! GET YOUR ASS IN MY OFFICE NOW!" She yelled at the top of her lungs almost rivaling a royal Canterlot voice. Silver Quill, Twilight's assistant ran into her office. "Y-yes Ms.Sparkle" stuttered Silver.
[24 hours later]
The next day Twilight had gotten a letter back from the princess explaining her sorrow for those injured in the blast and her curiosity and dread about what this meeting could hold. Twilight had just gotten to the train station when she heard her name being called. As she turned around she was caught off guard by a bone crushing hug from a certain captain in gold armor. “It’s so good to see you Twily" Shining Armor said to his little sister. "Can't breathe" is all Twilight managed to choke out before being dropped to the ground and helped up by her big brother. “Celestia dammit Shinng" yelled Twilight.
Well a mare does have to look her best like Rarity always says, "you never know when you'll meet your prince charming." Twilight suddenly felt a bit saddened thinking about her friends and how she's been away from them. She then thought of a brilliant idea, "on my way back from Canterlot I'll pop in for a surprise visit I'm sure the girls would love it.” She continued to think of what all her friends have been doing without her there and all the fun things they could do while she was visiting. As she thought she started to get tired and decided to take a nap, she got up and told her brother to wake her up in a few hours then quickly retreated back to her seat. "I hope this meeting with the princess doesn’t last too long and I hope I'll be able to see the girls again." With that last thought Twilight fell asleep while the train continued on to Canterlot.

A short chapter just trying to test the waters and see how everything can turn out.
Twilight awoke several hours later to see the train finally pulling into Canterlot, as she admired the view for the 1st time in 2 years her brother spoke up from the aisle next to her. “It’s feels good to see it again after all this time doesn’t it Twilight? Yeah it sure does Shiny I just wish it was under better circumstances that’s all.” As they got off the train the purple unicorn noticed that a lot more guards were roaming around the station platform than usual. “What’s with all the guards Shiny? She asked her brother, “After the attack at your lab the princess ordered an increase in security around the city so to make sure nothing else happens. And it’s not just in Canterlot, but every major city in Equestria has had the on duty guard numbers tripled”. Twilight didn’t say anything after her brother finished talking, “I can’t believe it, all this, it’s like my brother and Celestia are ready to go to war about this”. She thought just out of shock and bewilderment, as Twilight was making her way down the platform she didn’t see (for some mysterious damn reason) the 7 foot tall pure white alicorn with the flowing rainbow mane in front of her until it was too late. With a humph Twilight oh so gracefully fell on her ass, “oh my, Twilight are you alright?” asked Celestia. With a grunt of effort Twilight was able to pick herself up and while dusting herself off responded “yes I’m fine princess I must not have been looking where I was going. Well now that I’ve found you and the good captain, we must certainly make our way to the castle so we may discuss these most tragic of…….. events.” Said Celestia as she walked to a carriage just outside the station.
At Canterlot castle security was even tighter, the only reason Twilight was even allowed into the castle was because she was with the princess and Capitan of The Royal Guard. The group of three ponies finally made their way into Celestias private study, once they stepped inside both Celestia and Shining Armor started casting spells to keep anypony outside from listing into the private meeting or walking in and disrupting it. “So what is this about one of MY research facilities being attacked and having top secret documents stolen that outline our weapons capabilities and experimental project outlines? Celestia asked with a hint of annoyance and a face that said I’m pissed, W-well princess I believe a griffon is to blame for the infiltration of the facility. I assume this because that was the only employee that entered the R&D lab that day, and the time that he opened the door was only 5 minutes before the bomb detonated.” Twilight was now border line close to pissing herself after giving her statement and waiting for an answer from her idol and once teacher. “Hmmmmmm and who might this griffon be Twilight? His name is Black Talon a very gifted nuclear physics engineer who was working on helping us perfect binary fission to use to help power the nation or to weaponize. So what you’re telling me, is that we have a rouge griffon physicist who by our own fault is able to produce WMD’s and has details of our weapons capabilities?” Celestia yet again asked this time with a seriousness that could not be matched. “Yes princess that is correct” With Twilight done Celestia looked at her student with a calm face and then said the only two words she could think of to sum all of this up. “Well……Fuck.”
After the meeting with Celestia, Twilight was still trying to figure out exactly what had gone on. “Let’s see, after she said fuck Celestia pulled out a bottle of Applejack Daniels and proceeded to chug it all in under 10 seconds. Which I can say was impressive but extremely surprising, she then said she was going to tell Luna and for me to go to Ponyville and see all the girls.”
Twilight had arrived in Ponyville after a very hilarious train ride of pranking her escorts asking them dirty questioned like how big they were, and if they think they could fit and it ended with her running away from them in a fit of laughter leaving behind 5 stunned and slightly mentally broke guards. She finally made it to the library her old home that she missed so much, “home sweet home” as she pushed open the door she couldn’t help but smile as she saw a grown spike not fully grown in dragon standards but by pony standards organizing shelves. Twilight grew a smirk as she saw he hadn’t noticed her yet and decided to have some more fun, “YO BEYETCH WASSSUP” she yelled at the top of her lungs causing spike to drop the books he was holding and jump onto the light fixture hanging from the ceiling. “Holy shit, spike swore under his breath and with a pissed of death looked at the pony who caused him to have a mini heart attack. As he did he instantly dropped his pissed of sneer and grew the happiest grin he’d had in years. “TWILIGHT, spike screamed as he jumped down to hug her, I know you haven’t seen me in two years but sweet Celestia ya’ didn’t have to scare the piss out of me” Twilight then looked up at him with a smirk and said “ I just wanted to make my arrival a wonderful surprise.” Spike just chuckled and responded “that you did that you did, so what brings you all the way to Ponyville?” Twilight then proceeded to retail her story to spike whose face started out with look of curiosity, to horror, and then to sever anger but he was able to calm down after Twilight told him no one was injured and that they had a suspect. After she finished it was dark outside so she decided to stand and say goodbye to spike. “Well it’s getting late spike I should go find a hotel an…” before she could finish she was cut by spike telling her that she was staying at the library tonight. “Are you sure spike? Yes I’m absoluty sure Twilight I mean you spent over decade letting me live with you. It’s the least I can do and besides this will always be your home too no matter what.” With that said they both said their good nights and went to separate rooms. Twilight then lay in bed thinking about the day to follow, “I can’t wait for tomorrow it’s been to long since I’ve seen everpony and I just can’t wait” Twilight the shut her eyes and let sleep overcome her tired body dreaming of the day to come and the fun to be had.

Well here it is the first chapter and hopefully the first of many more. I'd like to give a shout out and thanks to my editor and dear friend TH4TGUY he is such a helper and such a good friend. Anyways thanks for readin bros and i hope you guys enjoy it.
Twilight awoke the next day in her old bed to the smell of pancakes and coffee, with that in mind she quickly made her way downstairs and sat at the kitchen table. Spike looked up from the stove where he was cooking another pancake and said “Just like old times ey Twilight?” Twilight just smiled and chuckled a little. “Yea and hopefully the still doesn’t taste like crap spike” She thought, after her inner monolog spike brought out a mug of coffee and a plate with a big stack of pancakes on it. “I really hope you enjoy it” he said, with that she took a sip from her coffee and cut into the pancakes and put a forkful in her mouth, “It’s delicious Spike thank you”, coffee still taste like she though.” After she was finished eating she got dressed so she could go try and find her friends. “Hey Spike wanna go see if we can find all the girls? I’m sure they’ll be super excited to see me after all this time. Yeah I’d love to.” With that they were out the door and on their way to have and day with their closest friends.
As Spike and Twilight walked through Ponyville they both couldn’t help but smile at all the surprised and joy filled faces that spotted Twilight it only got better when she was tackled by a blur of cyan and rainbow. “Damn Rainbow, you think you could’ve not tackled me?” Asked a very annoyed and rather upside down Twilight Sparkle. “Are you fucking kidding me Twilight it’s been forever and I just couldn’t believe it was you” “Yeah it’s ok Rainbow and it’s really good to see you too, do you happen to know where the rest of the girls are at I’ve got some rather interesting and important news.” Twilight stated, Rainbow just kinda looked at her for a second then said “Oh yea we were all actually gonna meet at sugarcube corner for lunch I was actually on my way there now, come on.” With that they made their way to sugarcube corner, the whole Twilight was fighting one her famous freak out sessions about how she was going to break the news to her friends about the attack and possible war that they all might have to get involved in.
About 10 minutes later they made it to sugarcube corner with Rainbow telling Twilight to stay outside and wait for her to say something that would que her entrance. “Hey girls what’s up?” Asked rainbow after walking up to her friends table. “Oh nothing just wondering why you’re 5 minutes late Ms. Dash?” Said a rather annoyed Rarity. “Oh nothing just talking to someone,” with that Twilight and Spike mad their entrance and right when they waked through the door all the mares at the table jaws dropped to the floor seeing their friend so suddenly and unannounced. “Um hi girls long time no” before she could finish she was tackled yet again only this time into a rather vicious hug. “Well it’s good to see you all too” she was then released from the death trap of a hug to only b bombarded with questions. “Easy easy girls I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys sooner but I wanted it to be a surprise and I’ll be her for a few days before having to go back to Canterlot.

Twilight had just said the words no one ever wanted to hear, war a cruel device used to get the resource we want or push the beliefs of your own kind onto another. She was thankful and pretty sure her friends were thankful they would soon be fighting was not for these reasons, but thy all still held a sense of fear and undying sadness for the true reason. An attack, an attack on their home, an attack that could have killed their best friend, and an attack that held no real reason or purpose except to try and gt a reaction out of the Equestrian people which it certainly did.
The girls just stared at their friend in shock while Spike simply stared into the wall adjacent the kitchen in deep thought.
Transmission as follows:
Twilight could only stare in disbelief "How? How could it have come this quickly?" Shinning simply wrapped her in a hug and said "I don't know Twili but I'm to report to the Forward Operating Base in two hours but before I go I was ordered to get you to Canterlot by any means necessary." Just as he said that a convoy of armored vehicles stopped outside. "Here's our ride now you all take the front two those soldiers have orders to go straight to the castle if you try to convince them to deviate they will subdue you and take you there by force am I clear?" He only got head nods in response. "Good now I'm taking the other three with me to Manehattan" as he was turning around he was suddenly tackled to the ground by a purple blur. "Please please promise me you'll be ok BBBFF" at this point all she could do was cry into her brothers shoulder "I promise I'll be fine but I have to go. Commander please get my sister into her transport" Twilight was pryed from her brother and put into the vehicle she looked around and saw three of her six friends, Rarity, Spike, and Dash were in her armored car they all had tears in their eyes but Dash was only making it worse by trying to keep them from showing. As the vehicles pulled away and the friends sat in silence with only the occasional sob all they could think was how long would his last. But Twilight had another thought, would she see her BBBFF ever agian?

As you can see I am finally back. With each chapter Ill get out more diverse character dialogue from all 6 of our herons including spike and some special guest. But for now Ill leave you wondering while I contemplate the progression from this point.
Haven't really looked at this thing for a while now so I thought I'd attempt to get a few more chapters added in before i went back to school.
It was the worst trip to Canterlot any of them had ever takin. All they could think about was the future to come and the horrors it would hold. The cabin of the armored car was deathly silent, the only thing that could be heard was the occasional shift of the vehicles gears and the dull roar of the engine as they speed towards their destination. Twilight sat thinking to herself about what her and her friends roles would be in this war. She knew it wouldn't be good but she aso knew they'd be doing good for all of Ponykind.
3 hours later...
As the car rolled through the gates of Canterlot Castle the girls and Spike looked out the window to see a truly horrifying and awe inspiring sight. Where ever they looked there were ponies dressed in camo, running back and forth between guard post dispersing weapons and setting up gun nest and anti air and early warning radar systems. Suddenly the car stopped and the doors opened. Two large stallions ushered them out and into the castle. "Princess Celestia is waiting in her private office for you all. My colleague and I have been instructed to take you straight there." No one said a word after that they just walked hoping to hear some good news like "we made peace" or "we've captured the terrorist now i can all be avoided." But they knew it was an impossible idea, but everyone needs a little hope in tough times. As they reached the princess' office they could hear the shuffling of papers and mumbling voices. "I do not necessarily agree with this plan you have suggested Duke Blueblood. It is too lose and wild for my taste... But my sister was always the tactical genius i shall run it by her and see what she thinks of it but if she says no then you will have to think of something else." Princess Celestia starred down at Duke Blueblood waiting for any witty or sarcastic retort he might have, but none ever came it was just a simple and polite "yes your majesty I shall meet with Princess Luna as quickly as I can. We need to have a plan of action as soon as possible if we have any chance in this war." Just as the Duke finished the doors opened to Twilight and her other five friends. "Twilight, thank the ancestors you made it, it is so good to see you. But how terrible you have to be here." Twilight looked up at her mentor, tears still glistening in her eyes, but she just couldn't bring herself to speak. "I think I shall be going your majesty you have a lot to talk about with the elements and I don't want to be a bother." And just like that he was gone. Celestia looked down at her former student. "I-i don't know what to do princess it's all s-so confusing.
As the city on the cliff was destroyed they all took a silent vow to fight till their last breath if need be and they wouldn't rest until justice was served. Especially one purple mare who had the knowledge and the will to do so...

Nothing could be worse. The city they all loved so much being destroyed just miles away. How could it have come to this? No one could've seen it coming. But everyone could hope and was hoping that it would end for it was too horrible to hear the bombs going off in the distance, just thinking of all those innocent lives being snuffed out in the blink of an eye. "We were not prepared in time... I just hope everyone made it to shelter and if not then I hope they felt no misery and had already made their peace." Princess Celestia finally broke the deathly silence slightly startling all that were in the room.
"That's what we all hope for but we know it's a false hope Princess." Said Twilight with a down turned tone in her voice, "Yes but hope is always in need in times of darkness. It gives us all a light to guide the way into better and safer times." Said the Princess although she knew it wouldn't cheer anyone up but she could always at least try.
"Is there anywhere we can rest for a bit Princess I'm sure everyone is a bit exhausted from all the stress this situation has caused." "Ah yes Fluttershy we have arrangements ready for the all of you so please follow me." As the group headed off to their living arrangements Twilight was simply a hollow husk walking and following is all she did. She just couldn't operate, the stress had gotten to her and her brain shut down. Unable to process very much at the time let alone try and talk about all the events that had occurred so shortly after they happened. As they approached they were stopped by Princess Luna as she walked out of the war room. "Oh hello everpony, I am most glad to see you all especially after what happened to the city. Dear sister we have developed a new plan with far less loose ends and a more tactical approach rather then a head on frontal assault. The armies are ready as well as our Air Force, Navy, and Marine divisions. All contingency plans are in effect including long range intercontinental ballistic missiles and all nuclear warheads have been armed and brought out of stor-" "Slow down Luna. First, put the warheads back I do not wish to start a nuclear war and destroy this planet. Second, I need a set time on when our troops can retaliate for we are officially at war. Lastly, we will go over your plan after I take Twilight and her friends to their rooms so they can get some rest." " That is a very good idea sister we shall meet you back here after you take them.. Yes I shall see you in a moment Luna." And with that Luna left them back to following Celestia. But in that time it had given Twilight enough time for her mind to get back up to speed. Then everything went black for her.
Later...
Twilight slowly awoke grabbing a hold of her head as it started to pound. "Ohhhhhhh my head... What happened?" She mumbled with her eyes still closed. "You collapsed and started to cry in the hall on our way to get you and your friends rested up for what is to come." "how long have I been asleep Princess?" "Oh about four hours but you needed every bit of it and maybe a little more too." Once she finished talking Celestia turned around and was about o walk out until a voice stopped her. "You know.. I never thought this would happen in my life time but her I am... I mean how bad do we have to screw up to get attacked by the Griffions? I'm gonna go ahead and get more rest Princess but i just want to let you know.. I've loved having you as my mentor and especially my friend and I hope that when we get through this we can be friends for many more years to come." Nothing was said by either of them after that. Twilight had turned over and fallen asleep and Celestia just sat there. Stunned on the verge of tears and the happiest she had been since Twilight graduated from her tutelage. Nothing made her feel happier then this moment at this exact time. And she would remember it for the rest of her life.

Really just a filler chapter tonight eh didn't really feel like writing since i have work tomorrow and didn't start till a little before 11 at night...
