//-------------------------------------------------------// Black Magic -by picachuyousayswhat- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 I shifted through the shirts in my closet as quickly as possible. "Ah ha!" I pulled out a midnight blue t-shirt with sky blue sleeves and tossed it over my shoulder. I glanced back to see I had missed my backpack by a good three feet. I let out a irritated sigh. "This is the third time today, come on Coral, you need to work on that aim." I shuffled over to my shirt and walked back over to my black backpack that had a purple outline. I put a finger to my chin and hummed a small tune. "Lets see... I have shirts, pants, bra, underwear, socks, and a pair of shoes. All I need now is..." I looked over to the lone wooden desk sitting in the corner of the room. I hopped over the large teddy bear that was owned by my younger sister and shuffled through the drawn on paper and books on the desk. I grabbed the hidden black camo notebook and a few of the pens scattered around the desk and the floor. I turned around and threw the items into the bag. Only the notebook and two pens made it. I let out a sound that seemed to be like a mix between a tired moan and a strangled growl and begrudgingly picked up the remaining pens and tossed them into the bag. I walked back over to my clustered desk and shifted through the rubble again. I then got on all fours and looked under the desk. I shuffled a few things around and let out a short burst of air. I got  up and turned towards the window that showed the front lawn. Outside there was a group of ten year olds in bathing suits throwing water balloons at each other. "CAYLA!" I hollered from the second story of the house. A few of the children seemed to stop and look up at me. One blond one hollered back. "WHAT?!" Cayla yelled back. "WHERE'S THE FLASHLIGHT?!" I scream/asked. Now all the children were stopped. One child was even comedically on one foot in the middle of throwing a water ballon at another child. Cayla paused and tapped her foot on the ground and rested her head on one of her fists. "TRY UNDER YOUR PELLOW!" Cayla recommend finally. I gave a peace sign to her and left the window as the birthday bash continued. I climbed to the top of the bunk bed and reached under the two pillows at the end of the bed. I felt a cold metal surface and I grabbed it. I then yanked out the cold object and discovered it was the small red flashlight I was looking for. "Nevermind I found it."  I paused and looked at the golden retriever stuffed animal that was within my grasp. I grabbed the animal and the flashlight and put them both in my bag once I got down from the ladder. I smiled as I thought of the sleepover at my friends house. I felt my grin uncontrollably widen as I thought of how my plan is going perfectly. XxxxxxxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxxxxxX The sound of laughter erupted through like lava erupting from a volcano. "So then this guy was covered in jelly and peanut butter then somehow there was who large pieces of bread his costume for Halloween was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!" I heard my friend, Josie tell us. I couldn't help but giggle at taking a bet where if you lose you had to literally dress up as a peanut budder and jelly sandwich for Halloween. Of course no one really knows that Josie is extremely athletic. If someone just saw her out in the hallways of school, they would assume she was one of the most popular teens in the school, but she decided to hang out with us less populars teens. Making her ok in my books. Now Josie being as athletic as she is, makes her also strong, of course I can beat everyone in a test of strength but Josie is a good second. Josie also is the second tallest out of the four of us, she has light brown eyes and brown hair that went down to her back. Josie also had on a camo green shirt and some short jeans. "And you used to date him? Big mistake if you ask me." My tallest friend Emily stated while crossing her arms. Now Emily is by far the lightest person you can pick up. I'm serious, she is extremely thin boned and skinny. If she put makeup that paled her skin and sparkles on her face, she could become one of those sparkly vampires I hear everyone talk about, I even tried to get her to do that once, but she said she hated the book that it came from. I didn't even know there was a book. Anyway Emily was sort of the negative type that loves to cook. Although she wanted to make food that is covered in icing and sprinkles... A little contradictory if you ask me... Emily has normal brown eyes and flat brown hair that went to her shoulders. She had on a violet shirt with a white stripe on the torso and some jeans. "Well, he was nice sometimes." Pipped my last friend Savhanna. Now Savhanna is sort of quiet, but when the time comes she will speak her mind. She is extremely resilient and will help you when you ask. Her hair is moderately brown with some natural highlights and her eyes matched. Savhanna had on a black and white spotted shirt with some frills at the bottom and some jeans that cut off at her calfs. "Doesn't matter now, he has been humiliated by Josie for taking a bet that he shouldn't of taken." I stuck out my tongue. I had dark brown hair that went to a little past my shoulders that curled a little at the bottom, and even darker brown eyes. I had on a blueish-grayish t-shirt that had in pale pink lettering NEW YORK. I also had on some long jeans that covered my shoes almost entirely and my backpack was still on. "But he was only a jerk when he was having his period." Josie explained. "So he was always on his period?" Asked Emily. Causing me to laugh. "Oh wait I forgot!" Savhanna snapped her fingers and ran out of the room. Then just as quickly as she left Savhannah returned with a black book in hand and sat on the floor. Josie got up from Savhanna's bed and sat down on the floor next to Her. "What is it?" Josie asked curiously. Savhanna pointed to me and I rolled the computer chair I was on to the light switch and turned the lights off. Savanna then turned on a flashlight and pointed it at her face so she looked evil. "A book on Black magic!" Savhanna made some ghost sounds, then Emily turned on the light. "Black magic isn't real." Emily stated. "Then explain the mysteries of the universe." I looked at Emily and crossed my arms. "All of them have a reasonable explanation that we haven't found out about yet." Emily then got up from the chair in the corner of the room by the TV and sat on the other side of Savhanna. "But I'll bite, what can you supposedly do with this book." Emily did quote marks with her fingers at the word do. "Hey! Hold on don't do anything without me!" I got up from the chair that I was sitting on and hopped over to Savhanna. "So what are we going to do?" Asked Josie. "Well. "Savannah flipped the pages looking for so we could actually do. "How about this one?" I playfully asked while pointing to a page that said 'Mind Control' "No "all three of my friends said in unison. Savanna flip the page a couple more times as I saw spells like "animal power","time travel", and "psychology of newts". I paused from scanning the book and thought for a second... Newts can think? I shook my head and looked at the book again. I saw the page. "What about this one?" I put my entire hand on the page to halt Savhanna's page turning. The page read "Teleportation." Savannah glanced at the page and gave me confused look. "Why teleportation? "Ask Josie as she looked up at me. "Because it will be fun, of course." I paused "And that is least likely to not make us die and stuff." I explained calmly. "Wait... Did you say d-" Josie was inturupted before she could finish. "Let's just do this one if this does work." Emily looked up from the book to see me smugly looking at her. "I said if! It works then we will do something simple, then burn the book" "I guess that makes sense. Except the destroying the book part...." Savhanna hummed. I saw Josie looked at Emily suspiciously for a split second. "How about we go to Georgia?" Recommended Savannah. "Nah too boring." I quickly shook my head. "New York?" Josie Piped in. "Unoriginal." I responded. "France?" Emily asked with a sparkle in her eye. "...No...." I growled. "Canada?" Josie asked. "Bless you." I sit up. "Look, How about we just go to Equestria? I have heard it is quite nice this time of year." I gave out a wide smile and look at my friends. Josie and Emily glanced at each other while Savhanna just gave me the most dumbfounded look. "Equestri what now?" Savannah scratched her head in confusion. "Savannah do you know what my little pony friendship is magic is?" Asked Josie while placed her hand on the younger one's shoulder to ease the confusion. "My little pony isn't that like, I don't know, a cartoon from the eighties?" Savhanna pushed Josie's hand away. "Yah, but there was a reboot and it is AWESOME!" I quickly respond. Josie and Emily both give me a confused look. "Coral, Coral, Coral. You poor soul." Emily patted my back. "Don't Coral, Coral, Coral me! Equestria is a real place!" I snapped and folded my arms. "How about this, we try Equestria, and if we aren't teleported there, I will do whatever you all want for three weeks!" "And if we lose?" Savhanna asked politely. "We can't lose since Equestria is a cartoon." Emily stated. "When you three lose, and we are sent to Equestria, I want to be the leader when we are there!" I paused. "And Emily must be stuck with Pinkie pie, alone for a whole day" I stuck out my tongue at Emily playfully. "Alright. Fine. Now lets get this over with so I can kill two birds with one stone." Emily took the book from Savhanna and looked at what we would need. "Hey!" Savhanna yelled. "Hay is for horses." I pointed out. "Wait...If black magic isn't real, then you had no proof that Equestria isn't real. But if Equestria isn't real then black magic might be real." Josie stopped as Emily gave a frustrated glare. "Shut up." Emily snapped then looked at the book. "Ok so we need one candle for each person, A lighter or match, a b-" Emily was cut off when I grabbed the book out from under her nose. "Hey!" Emily shouted at me. "I'm the leader!" I stuck out my tounge and looked at Savhanna. "Savhanna do you have any candles in the house?" I asked. Emily gave me a pissed off look, then noticed Josie giving her a angry glare. "My mom has some in her closet." Savhanna left to room to go and grab the candles. "Josie." I pointed to her. "Yes?" "I saw a lighter in the living room, can you get it?"" "On it" Josie gave Emily another angry look and left the room. "Emily." I pointed to Emily. "What?" Emily asked with disinterest. "Can you gather all of our stuff?" "Fine..." Emily started picking up the scattered items from her backpack. Then Savhanna returned with a bundle of candles. "Where do I put these?" Savhanna asked. I looked down at the book. "I need some spray paint or something to write on your carpet first." I explained. Josie then returned with the lighter in hand. "Wait, you are not spray painting my carpet!" Savhanna hissed. "Relax! This will work. It will be fine." I explained. "How do you know this will be fine? Magic isn't real so you would just mess up her carpet!" Emily dropped all of their stuff into a pile and I got up to drop my backpack into the pile. "Look, if this doesn't work I will scrub the carpet until every speck of paint is gone." I got off the carpet and put out my hand. "Deal?" Savhanna paused and looked at my hand. "Well..." Savhanna then looked around. "I guess so... As long as you clean up after yourself, I suppose it won't hurt.." Savhanna then hesitantly grabbed my hand and I gave her hand a firm shake. I felt something whisper at the edge of my mind. "OK." I grabbed the candles from Savhanna. "Now, where is something I can mark your carpet?" I asked. "Um..." Savhanna put a finger to her chin. "I'll be right back." Savhanna then left the room quickly. I looked at the book, then at our materials. "Ok Josie and Emily, go and get some food and water and stuff as much as you can in all three of the backpacks." I stopped and saw Emily and Josie pocketed the lighter and crossed her arms. "Why?" Asked Josie. "How long are we going to be gone?" "If we even leave that is." Emily pointed out. "Oh, um." I can't tell them that I have no clue how much time will pass. "Just pack snacks that can last a long amount of time. That way they have no chance of spoiling when were gone! That way we have something to eat without spoiling!" I smiled stupidly. "Ok whatever." Emily then left with her backpack in hand. But Josie stayed. "You didn't answer my second question." Josie sat down her backpack and crossed her arms. I almost recoiled in fear. My eyes twitched and I looked around, avoiding Josie's gaze. She will find out everything! I must have this! "What question?" I squeaked. "Coral..." Josie gave me a hard look. "Ah- erm..." I looked down at the ground. "Well yo- no. um." I paused and looked up. That's it! "Look... Josie, I have wanted to go to Equestria for a while now. I've been studying for a few months now, and I think we can visit. All I want to do is visit. Can we please do that Josie? Please?" I begged. I puffed out my bottom lip while batting my eyes pleadingly. Josie stopped and looked at me. "Pleeease?" I put out my hands like a begging puppy. I heard Josie finally give a defeated sigh. I can't believed that worked... "Alright fine, I trust you Coral." Josie bent down and grabbed her backpack, Then started to leave the room. Quickly I realized something. "Oh wait Josie!" Josie paused and looked back. "What?" She responded. "Can you fill my backpack up with bottled water?" I asked while handing the backpack to her. Josie let out a small sigh and grabbed my backpack. "Alright, I will be back in a minute." Josie then exited the room as Savhanna returned with a black spray can in hand. "Here Coral." I grabbed the can and shook it for a few seconds. "Thanks Savhanna." I turned and sprayed a large number four onto the carpet. "Savhanna, go and pack some clothes and snacks into a backpack will you?" I then went to each corner of the four and sat down a candle. "Oh. Alright." Savhanna then went to her closet and pulled out a blue backpack that had a empty water bottle sticking out of the side pockets. I left Savhanna to gather her things as I stuffed my face into the book. "So is there anything else we will need?" Asked Savhanna as she packed some jeans into the backpack. "No, we are pretty much done. All we need to do is get the others and I will say some words and tah-dah we are teleported to Equestria!" I explained. Savhanna then grabbed her shirt from the closet and stuffed it in the backpack. "So what is Equestria like?" Savhanna asked. "Oh, well Equestria is a entire nation, but everywhere all the ponies are nice and there is no war and everyone is happy and such." I rotated my hand in a circle to show that the list goes on and on. "Won't it be strange to the ponies that we are humans?" Savhanna grabbed the empty water bottle and threw it in a trash can. "What?" "Well if this works, what would happen if one of the ponies started freaking out? Would the police be called? Would we be held in prison and interrogated? What would we do then?" Savhanna zipped up her backpack. "Well..." I paused and looked at the candle on each corner of the four. "You have to remember this is not earth. Equestria has many creatures  that can talk that are much stranger then us. So I'm sure we will be fine." I brushed off the doubt that ebbed away at my mask "Now go fill up your backpack with snacks and we will leave once your done." I smiled at Savhanna and looked back at the book in my hands. "Alright, I will be back faster then you can say sleepover!" Savhanna then left the room with much gusto. As soon as Savhanna's footsteps were no longer heard. I flipped through the black book and I paused. I heard A sound.      A voice...          No louder then a whisper...               Yet I heard it's alluring sound clearly. I saw my hands start shaking as the voice whispered to me. I heard the velvet voice tell me what I could do as my pupils dilated. The book fell out of my hands and onto the floor when the voice whispered how to do it. "~So much fun~" I heard my own voice tell me. My legs gave out as I fell onto all fours, my arms were in searing pain as they could barley hold me up. I gasped as my heart beat raced quicker then a rabbits. I clenched my eyes shut as I panicked. My happy mask was melted into pure terror. I had nothing once my mask was gone! The voice, I could hear the voice as clear as day. I flipped over as I looked for the source of the voice. As soon as I did the voice was gone like a whisper in the wind. I gasped and put a hand on my chest and felt that my heart was pounding. I gulped and let out a small nervous sigh. I then licked my lips and fell onto my butt. I shakily grabbed the book and hugged it as close as I could to my chest while I rocked slowly back and forth. I heard voices, I visibly flinched. Then I realized who it was. I mentally put on my mask and stood up as quickly as possible. "Hi guys! You three set to leave for Equestria?" I excitedly ask as Emily came in the room with Josie not far behind with Savhanna. "Equestria isn't real..." Emily stated while she put on her now full backpack. "Emily what did I say to you in the hallway?" Josie put her hands on her hips and looked at Emily. "Right, right...." Emily cleared her throat. "I support this idea of going to a fake cartoon land.... Coral." Emily said sarcastically. Josie glared at Emily while I smiled even wider at her. "Aw! Thanks Emily I knew you would come around!" I skipped over to Emily and squeezed her as tight as I could. I heard a small choking sound and I felt I tap on my shoulder. "Hm?" I looked over to see Savhanna. "Coral, your choking Emily." Savhanna explained. I looked up to see my red faced friends struggling to breathe. I quickly let go of her and backed away a good two feet. "See?! This is why I don't approve of anything she does! It always ends up with me being squeezed to death by someone!" Emily gasped and rubbed where I was squeezing her. "Basically." I agreed with a nod. Emily took a deep breath and looked at the four on the ground. Josie then tossed my backpack me and slipped on her own. I didn't really prepare myself for the weight of who knows how many water bottles and so the backpack so I was pushed onto the carpet painfully. I held up a thumbs up to show everyone I was OK. "Can we get this over with already so we can clean the huge four on the ground?" Emily sighed. I hopped up from the ground. "Oh, OK! All you need to do is grab each of your candles and light them where you are standing at. Josie do you have the lighter?" I asked. Josie then slipped her fingers into her right pocket and took out the lighter. "Alright I have to light last so everyone light theirs first." I went to the top of the four and picked up my candle. Josie meanwhile went to the right line of the four that stuck out and grabbed her candle. After that Josie flicked the lighter on and lit her candle. Emily then walked up and retrieved the lighter from Josie. Emily went on the opposite side from me, grabbed her candle and lit it while I opened the black book to the correct page. Savhanna got the lighter next, walked over to the spot opposite of Josie and was having some trouble getting it turned on. Savhanna kept pressing the button but the flame wouldn't spark. I closed the book and put it between my arm and my body then walked over to Savhanna. Savhanna sheepishly smiled at me as I opened my palm for the lighter. Savhanna didn't put up a fight and placed the lighter in my hand. Then I proceeded to click the lighter and the flame emerged. I held it to the candle and the flame jumped from the lighter to the candle with ease. I walked over to the light switch and flipped the lights off. I felt my eye twitch for just a second as a small voice spoke to me in the back of my head. I mentally shove it as far away as the voice would go. I walked back to the four and lifted my candle, then lit it.  I opened the book with one hand and scanned the page. "Alright you all ready?" I asked. Savhanna glanced at Josie fearfully and Josie gave a sympathetic look. "Yes were all ready, now hurry up." Emily adjusted her backpack. "Alright, sheesh hold your horses..." I bit the bottom of my lip as I noticed the voice had gotten slightly louder with anger. "טלפורטציה לפני ולפנים. טלפורט ארבעה עד Equestria להתחיל חדש!" Saw the four I drew start lighting up with a blinding light. The light spread from the middle until it consumed the enitre floor. I looked at my friends frightend faces with a smile plastered on my face. I giggled as the sounds of teleportation started up. I saw the light brighten up the room until I couldn't see my friends no more. The voice was screaming at me, the gentle cooing from before was no more. The voice was hollering, screaming, begging for attention. I just stood there smiling blankly at the white light and the looping sounds of the teleportation rolled around me. I fell on my knees as the voice started crying. I felt the voice clutch it's head and start braking down into a crying heap. I felt the tears stream down my face as the voice cried out. It asked why it did this. Why did it have to bring along it's friends. They will most likely be hurt along the way to ponyville. I can't have that happen! If they are hurt it will be because of me! I will never see my family again! All because of this stupid idea! Then I noticed that the voice was my own. I felt the wind rush past me as I started shaking. I saw myself rush past a cloud as I clutched my head as my own voice screamed in fear. In fear of hurting. In fear of losing. In fear of never coming home. I watched with terror as the ground rushed up to meet the new addition to the land of Equestiria.
