The Elements of Destruction

Discord yawned and stretched as he lazily drifted about in the sky on a pok-a-doted cloud. He stretched his arms and bent his body in unnatural angles and shapes and then reached into the unusual cloud and pulled out a poorly rolled letter. "Alright let’s see here." he said as the scroll unraveled its self. "Fixed the dam, closed the rift in time and space, and..." Discord raised his hands making quotation marks with his fingers, "convinced the Diamond Dogs to stop stealing gems from travelers. Well Celestials little chore list is all done. I guess it's time to have a little fun." Discord smiled mischievously and he rubbed his hands together. "I think it's time to cause a little chaos, but first" He paused and his smile grew, "I think I'll go see Fluttershy to see if she wants to join me, after all" he said as he brought out a whip and hit the cloud making it speed off. "What fun would causing chaos be if I didn't have my friend with me? Ahahahaha!"

Discords loud laugh echoed through the sky as the cloud continued to speed on until it came to a sudden stop, causing Discord's eyes to fly from his head and hit Fluttershy's window. His yellow disembodied eyes looked around the cottage as his body walked up to the window and swiped the eyes off tossing them back in his eye-sokets. "Oh Fluttershy! Fluttershy! It's your old pale Discord here wondering if you'd be interested in a little harmless, chaotic, fun." Discord cracked open Fluttershy's door and poked his head in. "Fluttershy?" he said as he looked around the empty cottage. "Hm that’s strange, oh well she's probably off in a field being boringly kind to some woodland creature." Discord looked around the room once again and shrugged, "I suppose I could ask Twilight Sparkle were Fluttershy is. She is a know-it-all, after all." Discord chuckled and turned away unaware he was being watched.

"Spike? Spike?!" Shouted Twilight in an aggravated tone "Spike where are you?!" Twilight sighed as she pulled books off the shelf’s reading the titles and placing them off to the side. She sighed and closed her eyes tired from her searching. "Oh what's the matter Twilight sparkle?" Discord said as he stepped out of one of the books Twilight had set to the side. "Did some pony not return a book?"

Twilights eyes narrowed at Discord "Do you need something Discord or are you just here to eat more paper from my books?"

"Well as hungry as I am I'm not here for a snack. I was wondering if you knew where Fluttershy was, I thought we could go out and have some fun with a little harmless chaos."

Twilight glared at Discord and continued here search for the book. "Did you already finish the to-do-list Princess Celestia gave you?"

Discord sighed crossing his arms. "Yes I finished her entire boring list top to bottom."

"Great, than before I tell you where Fluttershy is, do you think you could help me find a book?"

Discord raised an eyebrow and snapped his fingers. A pile of books appeared above Twilight and before she noticed they fell on her, leaving her buried under the pile. Discord laughed hysterically holding his stomach. Twilight burst from the pile of books her wings spread screaming, "Discord!" She stared him down angrily and Discord continued to laugh, his eyes closed and tearing. "I said a book! A book, that means one." Discord snapped his fingers and the pile disappeared. "Well Twilight Sparkle" Discord said tauntingly, "you should probably be more specific than a book. After all the quickest way to find what you’re looking for is to bring everything to you or on you in your case." Twilight glared angrily at Discord then closed her eyes and sighed calming herself down. She then looked him in the eyes and said in a calmer but still irritated tone. "I'm looking for the book of Ancient Pony History, the Equestria Volume."

Discord rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "And let me guess you have to read that boring and awful tasting book as an assignment from Celestia?"

Twilight continued to look through the shelves of books reading them then neatly stacking them next to the door. "It's not a boring assignment it's necessary for my lessons in being a- wait. Did you say awful tasting?!" Twilight looked at Discord her eyes wide. "Discord did you eat the book?!"

"Well I had to eat something. Do you have any idea how hungry laughing can make you, especially when it's something as funny as raining books." Discord grinned and Twilight glared at him angrily once again. "Oh fine Twilight Sparkle I guess I can just go hungry." Discord opened his mouth wide and reached in with his hand, pulling the book out. "You may not want to read this book with your nose in it." Twilight levitated the book from Discord and made a discussed face. "And now Twilight, Fluttershy?" Twilight glanced at Discord and rolled her eyes. "Fluttershy went to the meadows to watch butterfly’s. She's probably still there."

"In that case" said Discord with a grin "I think I'll be on my way. Have fun with your reading." Discord turned walking out the door, just before shutting it though he whipped his tail knocking over the stacks off books Twilight had stacked. Twilight sighed, exhausted by Discords mess making.

Discord hummed to himself as he walked up the small hill in the green meadows. He stopped and looked around the empty meadows and scratched his head. "No sign of Flutteshy at all, or those butterflies she's supposed to be watching. Where could she be?" Discord looked around again and put his hands to his mouth "Fluttershy! Oh Fluttershy!" he bent down and pulled the grass up as though it were a rug and looked underneath it saying, "Fluttershy are you under there?" He dropped the grass and stood back up with an annoyed look on his face. "Where is Fluttershy?" said Discord seemingly at a loss for what to do next. "I have an idea as to where your, um friend might be." said the nearby voice of a mare

"Oh good because I was getting so bored of just standing here." said Discord as he turned to see who he was talking to. The pony he was talking to was completely covered by heavy brown cowl. "Well?" said Discord crossing his arms impatiently. The cloaked pony only stared at Discord silently. "Are you going to tell me or am I going to have to make your life chaotic." said Discord as he narrowed his eyes angrily glaring at the stranger. "Oh well" he shrugged, "I suppose you asked for it." Discord grinned and snapped his fingers. When nothing happened he snapped his fingers again, and when once again nothing happened he snapped again and again. His eyes widened and narrowed again as his irritation became apparent through his angry snapping.

"Why in the wide wide world of Equestria is this not working!" said Discord angrily.

"Because" said the stranger "Your pathetic magic doesn’t hold a hoof to mine."

Discord raised his eyebrow and began to laugh holding his stomach while spinning in a circle and floating in the air. The stranger raised his head revealing in the light a large horn that began to glow red. Discord suddenly fell to the ground and when he arose he had a confused look on his face. A bright white grin showed on the stranger’s hooded face. "What’s the matter Discord did? Gravity suddenly turns back on? Confused?" Said the stranger tauntingly as he took a few steps forward and raised his head higher, his face still shrouded by the hood of the cowl. "Chaos is a powerful element by its self. However it is not nearly as powerful as mine." Discord raised his eyebrow "Element? What in the name of Celestia are you talking about?"

"The name of Celestia? Do you even here yourself chaos? You sound like one of those weak ponies. Like the element of kindness, she was so week she didn't even resist."

"The element of kindness?" Discord gasped "Fluttershy!"

"Yes that’s right chaos I have your dear friend locked away, and unless you do as I say, do what I want, and fallow my plan as I make it you'll never see kindness again."

Discord stood tall looking down at the stranger with his teeth barred. "If you hurt a single hair on her mane."

"You'll do what exactly chaos? We've already established my magic is more powerful, and if you run off to Celestia or tell anyone; well let’s just say it doesn’t take long to teleport to my castle."

Discord looked away from the stranger and frowned in distress. "So what exactly do I have to do in your plan." said Discord with worry in his voice. The stranger confidently walked to Discord. "For starters, chaos, wear this." The stranger levitated a black metal necklace, with a red swirling pendent atached to it, out from under his cloak. He put it around discords neck and the pendent began to glow a dark green. When the glowing stopped the pendent was a dull green.

Discord looked down at the necklace examining the pendent. "What is this?" he asked with an eyebrow raised. The stranger only turned and said in a sinister voice, "Come along."
