Vinyl Scratch had had just about enough of that horrible, horrible song. When people used to ask her how music had developed these days, the alabaster mare would always respond with something along the lines of, "Dude, it's a blast! Check out my wubs!" Now, however, things had changed. What was it about that song that made people listen to it repeatedly? Why had it topped Billboard 200? And why hadn't any of her songs?

What made it worse was the fact that they played it every single day on the radio. Every. Single. DAY!! When Vinyl had first heard it, her initial reaction was, "Meh, who cares?" Now, however, she was at her wits ends. It would be one thing if she had a job at someplace like the local sewage waste management like her friend Caramel, but this was too much. No matter how she'd love to work somewhere without a radio, a day job at the local radio station inevitably meant that her wait for the nightclubs involved listening to it for hours. And hours. And guess what? More hours.
The worst part was that once it topped the charts, Vinyl was stuck playing it at every single one of the nightclubs. By popular demand, the white unicorn was stuck playing that song repeatedly for the sake of her audience. And oh how she hated it! Why could anyone love something so utterly mindless?

If it didn't stop soon, the depressed musician would inevitably end it all with a bottle of Applejack Daniels. At this rate, Alcoholics Anonymous and the local liquor store would both be personally supported by her meager monthly checks. It just got worse and worse and worse. If that annoying sound didn't end soon, she couldn't be held responsible for her actions.
The radio blared on, repeating the same damn chorus over and over and over...Soon enough, Vinyl asked her boss if she could take a temporary vacation, unpaid of course. At the moment, she could really care less if the bills weren't paid as long as that song was out of her head. Oh, shooting the radio would be a wonderful way to end it, sure, but it would also have her not only fired (which at this point would be awesome), but also arrested (not so awesome).

As Vinyl walked down the street, it droned on, like some broken record that everyone seemed to enjoy having on repeat. It was almost as if the world were mocking her, shouting "You suck!" right in her face. And this time, there was no way her to follow with the tradition "And you swallow!" Nope, the young musician was stuck in the same rut she'd always been in. Oh, how she'd kill to get out of this!
And that's when it occurred to her. Maybe spending some quality alone time in the nearby prison wouldn't be such a bad thing...No! Vinyl wouldn't allow herself the luxury of an escape like that! Without further ado, the distraught mare continued to wander aimlessly down the street, heading vaguely towards her home as she meandered around.

That's when it hit her. It would be the best way in the world to get it out of her head! Without further ado, the alabaster mare strode right up to the closest window to a shop filled brimming with television sets. And right there, on one, was that blasted mare dancing on Rainbow Dash's head like she always did as the cursed song continued to drone its repetitive and mindless lyrics right into Vinyl's face. A smile slowly crept into her features.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
"Alright, everypony! Tonight we have a very, very special guest. Yes, you all know who she is!"
The crowd remained silent, hoping against hope that what Vinyl was about to say would be legitimate, and that she wasn't just shitting them. It grew so still that a single plop of drunken spittle falling out of Fluttershy's mouth struck the ground loudly enough for everyone present to hear it.
"Presenting the mare you and I have both come to wub, er, love, Fluffle Puff!"
The crowd roared in response, relieved that Vinyl wasn't featuring something as complicated and thought provoking as Octavia's symphonic pieces. No one likes to listen to something that actual requires a brain since most ponies these days got a frontal lobotomy at some point or other to eradicate complicated matters like thinking from their frontal and temporal lobes. It was really in fashion these days...
The music started playing as Fluffle Puff strode out onto the stage, bouncing as she headed towards Vinyl. The white mare managed to suppress an urge to hit her when she felt that pink abomination's wet sloppy tongue slide against the side of her face. Instead, she turned her head to meet Fluffle's tongue with her own. They started snogging each other right on the stage, full mouth on mouth in abundance. The crowd d'awwed at that.

Without removing her currently over-active mouth from the little pink thing, Vinyl used her magic to pull it the 1911 out of its case. The slider pulled back, reaching the end of its own length and exposing the barrel, before being released to chamber a round right into the breach. The .45 caliber ACP round was now ready to be fired, it's hollow-point tip ensuring that everything would be truly, truly messy.

The handgun drifted over towards the pair as Vinyl started snogging the other mare more and more enthusiastically. Fluffle Puff responded in kind, seeming to enjoy every moment of it. Without further hesitation, the latter of the two drew back, looking up into Vinyl's eyes with nothing but love and adoration. The gun drifted nearer, now starting to approach from close to the ground.

The music droned on, everpony either watching the scene or dancing to the splendid if repetitive sound emanating from the nearby speakers at full volume. Fluffle Puff's eyes seemed to gain a lilt, looking up at the pony who'd just kissed the hell out of her.
"You know, Vinyl, I wrote that for you."
She talks?!
"Hehe, thanks. You're an amazing mare, you know that?"
"Thank you, Vinyl, you don't know how much that means to me. I-I think I'm dreaming now or something. I mean, you've been an inspiration to me since I first started playing music. I mean, hell, the whole reason I started writing music was thanks to you!"
"You have no idea how happy I am to hear that, Fluffy!"
"Vinyl..."
"Yes?"
"I-I...I love you. More than I've ever loved anypony in my life."

The gun drifted nearer, now approaching from the ground so as not to alert the crowd as to what was going on. Fluffle didn't notice it either, her eyes locked adoringly to Vinyl's own. And yet...it started to quaver. This was not exactly what the alabaster mare had been expecting. All she'd ever seen was a mindless video of a hair-brained mare dancing on another idiot of a mare's head. This, this was not what she'd been expecting.
"Vinyl..."
"Yeah?"
"W-will you be my special somepony?"
Abort!! Abort!!
Vinyl didn't respond, instead electing to draw nearer to her companion, a gentle kiss of her's drawing across the other mare's lips. She could feel Fluffle's heartbeat racing when their bodies drew nearer. Bon-Bon was sitting right on a table nearby, letting out yet another d'aww at the sight. The handgun almost dropped from her grip at that.

Their heartbeats started to pump in time with each other, one for the love she felt and the other for the nervous tension that was splashing through her system. It was almost too much to bear, the way she felt herself go out for this mare. IT wasn't like it was Fluffle Puff's knowledge as to what this song had done to her. Hell, with the good intentions now realized, it was starting to almost sound good...
I c-can't do it. I can't do this...
The gun moved right nearby, and as the new couple kissed, there was an audible click as Vinyl forcefully switched the safety off. Startled, Fluffle Puff turned to look at the gun before starting back in surprise. She looked sadly into Vinyl's eyes, not a look of fear or anger, but hurt betrayal.
"Vinyl, I-"
"Sorry, kid."
*BLAM!!*
Time seemed to slow as the round tore its way through the pink mare's face, blasting off the expression as it tore out the other side. Gore and worse splattered all over both Lyra and Bon-Bon as the hollow-point did its grim work, destroying Fluffle Puff's head entirely. The now-splattered body slumped to the ground, the intact fur keeping it almost on its feet. The pistol shook in Vinyl's magic as she turned it towards the crowd. Everypony stared in shock at the body of the mare that had not moments before made their day with her cute affection. The lyrics droned on, completely oblivious to what had just happened.

"Please Celestia...no."
Recognition started to don the crowd's face as their brains finally started to catch up to what had just happened. Soon their eyes told of their emotions, confusion being replaced quickly with fear. Vinyl didn't even hesitate to do the only thing that was in her mind at the moment.
*BLAM!!BLAM!!BLAM!!
Bon-Bon's body shuddered as the bullets ripped entirely through her, tearing out her innards and spraying blood and viscera all over the place. Lyra stared at the body of the mare who had only moments before been kissing her square on the lips, planning out a life with each other that would never be.
*BLAM!!BLAM!!BLAM!!BLAM!!
The next few bullets tore into the already screaming crowd. Raindrops fell like a pile of bricks as a round blasted its way through her spine, killing her instantly. A young stallion, barely old enough to enter the club, cried out in pain as another round placed a gaping hole in his right flank. The other rounds whizzed by, slamming their way through the walls into Celestia knows where.
*chck*
The gun clicked without any ammo left to unload on the ponies as they fled. Soon the room was devoid of any life other than the crying stallion and Lyra, who sat forlornly looking down at Bon-Bon's lifeless eyes. All the love she'd ever known, all the care she'd ever felt, died at that moment. Tears streamed down her face as she met her lovers glazed expression.
As another clip slapped into the weapon, the saddened unicorn looked up to see Vinyl's cold eyes, as dead as others' before her save the fact that her heart still beat. The gun started to level itself with Lyra, and she was surprised not to feel sad about what she knew was coming next. Without Bon-Bon, there really wasn't much point in going on anyways. All she had left in her was one simple question.
"Why?"
"Maybe because I'm tired, Lyra. Oh, so very tired."
*BLAM!!*
Lyra's still form slumped over Bon-Bon's, the lovers now embracing each other in death much as they had in life. Even to the end, the two still loved each other, something that many would never know themselves, and therefor would never understand. Vinyl sighed at that, looking at the floor as her adrenaline rush settled down.

The music still continued to drone on, no more noticing what had just transpired than anything else. Inanimate objects were incapable of noticing what happened in the world around them. Vinyl's pistol soon took care of that, however. The speakers blew loudly as her shots rang true. Soon, there was no sound left in the room.
The young colt drew one last gaping breath as Vinyl walked on by. While he had only sustained a wound to the hip, the lack of medical attention or staunching of his blood didn't bode him well, and he too soon joined the other still bodies in the room. As Vinyl left the building, she looked back to stare one last time at the club that had once made her life.
"Goodbye, my old friend."
Equestria hadn't had capitol punishment since the Nightmare Moon incident, a law which was upheld despite the violent protest of everypony present. As much as the death of the sadistic mare would please them, even a crowd such as that could not always get their way. Soon, Vinyl was being moved to a maximum security prison with a life sentence and no hope of parole.
The guard roughly shoved her into the padded cell, trying nothing at being gentle with the calm killer he had escorted. "I hope you burn in hell someday," he muttered as the door was slammed shut behind him. Vinyl simply stared at the wall, no longer sure as to what to do. Her task was complete, and it had all ended rather nicely. If the mare had ever had a soul, it was long dead by now.

"What the fuck?!" Vinyl screamed through her cell bars, wondering where that sound could possibly be coming from. There were no speakers or any way for her to be forced into hearing it, so why did that sound ring in her ears? The answer came soon enough.
"My dear little pony, seeing as you have chosen to do something so heinous and I have no form of capitol punishment to give you, I decided instead to let you think things through. One can't think without music, can she? Don't worry, I've made sure to extend your life so that you may think in peace for as long as it takes. Enjoy..."
