Zarbon, have I ever mentioned how much I adore the view of a planet before I destroy it?” Frieza asked his right-hand man. Over the years, he had proven himself capable of handling anything thrown his way. Because of this, he had become Frieza's highest ranking General.

“No, sir.”

“Oh, but I do. All the lowly peons down there. They have no idea what’s about to befall them.”

At that, the ceiling of Frieza’s room opened and his chair began lifting up, taking him along with it. Slowly, but surely, the tyrant made his way up. To him, this was always the best part of finding new planets. Sure, finding civilizations and pillaging them was enthralling, but killing all of the worthless peasants in one fell swoop was too much fun. He wasn’t quite sure why, though. Perhaps it was the thought of them all screaming out in horror at the same time. Or maybe it was the ensuing fireworks.

As Frieza stopped his ascent, he noticed a few stragglers had gathered outside of his ship. Not that there was any reason to worry, though. The worst these fools could do was tickle him. And so, he began charging up his supernova. The planet was of no use to him, as it wasn’t home to the coveted dragon balls. And since there was no reason the pathetic people down there should be allowed to live, he may as well destroy it.

As the ball forming on the tip of his finger suddenly began growing to an enormous size, the stragglers in front of him became stricken with fear. Frieza licked his lips in anticipation. Suddenly, without warning, he pointed his finger forward, launching the death ball at the planet. In an instant, all the stragglers who had gathered in front of his ship were incinerated. But as planned, the ball continued on its path before smashing into the planet. Slowly, it made its way towards the core, and Frieza began lowering back into his ship, content with watching the destruction through his window.

As his chair finally reclaimed its spot, he picked up a glass of wine and took a sip before replacing it on the table next to him.

“While I enjoy the show, I’d like you to set our course for the nearest planet, Zarbon.”

“Yes, Lord Frieza.”

As the door opened and closed after a few seconds, confirming Zarbon’s departure, Frieza turned his attention back to the planet in front of him.

“Yes, ma’am.”

Princess Celestia had just finish telling one of her newest guards his schedule for the week, and he was finally leaving her alone. It was time to relax. Getting up from her throne, she took notice of her younger sister trotting in quickly.

“You look eager, Luna.”

“What can I say? The carnival only comes to town once a year, and I never get to go.”

“Well, I just finished getting our latest recruit ready, so we can head out.”

Luna beamed at that, ecstatic that she could finally go to the carnival. Suddenly, though, her thoughts were cut off by a very frightful sensation hitting her like a brick. It sent chills up her spine, and Celestia felt the same way. After a few seconds, the chills stopped, and Celestia looked out a nearby window.

“Did you feel that, Luna?”

“Yes, but what was it, sister?”

“I’m not sure. It felt like millions of ponies crying out at once.”

Celestia was now pacing around the throne room of Canterlot Castle, her sister standing next to her, watching. Luna could tell that Celestia was troubled, and with good reason. It was as if millions of ponies had been wiped from existence in the blink of an eye. Very troubling indeed.

“What do you think could have happened, ‘Tia?”

“I’m not sure, Luna, but certainly nothing good.”

“Will the elements be needed?”

“No. At least, not right away. I’d like to see what’s happened first.”

“If you’d like, we could use my telescope, ‘Tia.”

The eldest alicorn nodded at her sister, and Luna began walking off, Celestia being quick to follow. As they walked through the many halls of Canterlot Castle, memories began to pour through them. They had defeated the likes of Discord, Sombra, and Celestia had even defeated her own sister in a mighty battle. But never before had either of the royal sisters felt so unsure of themselves.

Dodoria, I have a job for you,” Frieza told one of his higher ranking henchman. Aside from Zarbon, Dodoria was one of the most efficient soldiers at Frieza's disposal. The pink blob may not have looked threatening, but he was definitely a lethal soldier.

“What is it, Master Frieza?”

“It’s come to my attention that we’ve arrived at our destination,” Frieza informed his henchman without even turning to look at him. At the moment, he was looking out of the ship’s main window, staring down at the planet below. Even he had to admit that it was... stunningly beautiful.

“And that’s where your job comes in. You and Zarbon are to escort me to the planet below. Once there, our main job will be to verify if the dragon balls are there.

“What if they aren’t, Master Frieza?” his henchman questioned, making him smirk. Thoughts instantly filled his mind. Thoughts of the luscious planet below being reduced to dust. It made him chuckle at the absurdity of the question. “Let’s go, Dodoria.”

“That’s impossible...”

“What is it, Luna?”

“I just charted the locations of every star and planet in the galaxy last week. But it seems as if one of the planets has disappeared,” she explained, a large amount of worry now evident in her voice.

“Do you-- do you think it could have been destroyed?”

“I’m not sure, sister. But I know for a fact that a planet was there only one week ago.”

“Well then I think it’s safe to assume that the chaos we just felt came from that very planet.”

“And that can’t mean anything good, ‘Tia. That planet showed no signs of damage, so it should be impossible for it to have been destroyed by natural causes.”

“Which means that something may have attacked it,” concluded Celestia. “Come, Luna, we need to summon Twilight and her friends to Canterlot.”

“Zarbon, I want you to go fetch the scouters. Before we leave the ship, I want to see what kind of powers we’re dealing with here.”

“Yes, Lord Frieza.”

Frieza watched as Zarbon left the room to gather scouters for them. As soon as the door shut, Dodoria turned towards him and voiced his thoughts.

“Do you really think there’s gonna be anyone here strong enough to lay a hand on us, sir?”

“Of course not, Dodoria, but we’ll need them just in case. But for now, let’s discuss the mission.”

“Of course, sir.”

“Alright, from what we can tell, this planet doesn’t have very many inhabitants. We need to keep a lookout for any sign of civilization. From there, we’ll simply tell them what we’re looking for.”

“But what if they get defensive, sir?”

“Then I make an example out of one of them. Besides, only a fool wouldn’t know who I am,” the tyrant boasted.

“What about Vegeta?”

“What about him, Dodoria?” Frieza questioned right back, unsure as to what Dodoria was getting at.

“Has he been informed of the plan?”

“That Saiyan rat disobeyed my orders and went to some backwater planet. If I see him, he’ll wish that he hadn’t.”

His leader’s confidence made Dodoria chuckle, and it soon developed into full-blown laughter between the two.

“There, I just sent a letter to Twilight informing her of our need for she and her friends.”

“Sister?”

“Yes, Luna?”

“What kind of creature could destroy a planet? Why would a creature destroy a planet?”

“I’m not sure, Luna. I’m even doubtful about the elements being able to defend us if this creature decides to attack us as well.”

The royal sisters looked glum, and with good reason. If the elements weren’t capable of defeating a threat, what would be?

“Hmm, the highest power level in the general vicinity is a little over three hundred thousand, but that should be no trouble for me.”

“Shall we pay the unsuspecting citizens of the planet a visit now, Lord Frieza?”

“Yes. Zarbon, open the doors.”

“Yes, sir.”

All the citizens of Ponyville were in awe. What looked like a spaceship had just landed on the outskirts of town, and all of the ponies were clamoring about, itching to get a look at the amazing piece of technology.

Suddenly, though, a door on the front of the ship opened, and three silhouettes instantly became visible.

Enter Frieza

As the doors opened, Frieza couldn’t believe what he saw. Tons of colorful equines standing around outside his ship, smiling at him. Perhaps they knew who he was, and this was their way of greeting him?

In any case, he slowly began moving his chair forward, taking him along with it. As Zarbon and Dodoria walked alongside him, he began speaking to them.

“Zarbon, you speak to them for me. Dodoria, you two keep an eye out for any troublemakers. If anyone tries anything, kill them.”

“Yes, Lord Frieza.”

“Yes, Master Frieza.”

After a few more moments, the three arrived in front of the group of equines.

“Greetings,” began Zarbon, hoping to finish up with these odd looking ponies as quickly as possible. “I was wondering if you might be able to help us out.”

At this, the ponies’ smiles grew even larger. It seemed that these fools would be willing to do anything they told them to.

“What do you need?” one called out to him.

“Recently, I’ve gathered knowledge about a certain set of powerful artifacts. Do you have anything like that here?”

The ponies began whispering amongst themselves, and after a few moments, one of them spoke up for the majority.

“What do you need them for?”

“We’d just like to take a look at them,” he lied. Now that he knew they were here, the search could finally stop, and Frieza could finally get what he’d wanted since he was only a child. Immortality.

Then he could kill them all.

“Something is here, sister.”

“Do you think it’s the creature, Luna?”

“I’m not sure. Just focusing on it makes me feel like my head is going to explode, though.”

“Then it must be. I only hope Twilight and her friends will arrive soon.”

The ponies were beginning to advance on them now, and it looked as if Zarbon and Dodoria were about to act. But before they had the chance, Frieza lifted up a hand, gesturing for them to hold their positions. Soon enough, the ponies had him fully surrounded, and were asking questions like crazy.

He had never seen a group of peasants so willing to talk to him, and quite frankly, he found it annoying. So, he began to slowly survey the equines that had surrounded him. It was time to shut them up.

As he continued to observe the ponies that were pestering him with questions, he took notice of a peculiar grey one in the crowd. It had what seemed to be crossed eyes, and a blonde mane. As soon as the pony reached him, its wings lifted it into the air and it flew up next to him. The next thing he knew, the pony was poking him.

“Hehe, you look silly!”

Instead of responding, Frieza simply waited for the pony to fly away. As it did, he slowly lifted his hand, extending his index finger towards the equine. What happened next, nobody could predict.

“Bang.”

Before any of the ponies could even react, the grey one was frozen in midair, a pink beam going through its wing and making a hole. After a few seconds, the beam dissipated and the pony fell to the ground, its wing smoldering. The ponies began screaming in terror, suddenly afraid of the new arrival to their planet.

Frieza? He simply smirked.
