Close Your Eyes, Open Them Another Time

I could hear the gunfire. Over all other, every sound, I heard the one gun fire. Everything and everyone drown out around me as the bullet whizzed through the air. Everything moved in slow motion as my eyes followed it, the bullet moved with little waves around it in the air, before hitting its mark.

They say when your dying, or about to die, your life flashes before your eye. Well I guess thats true but I didn’t see mine, I saw hers. I saw her sisters face when they first met, I saw her whole life change when she discovered her coy, when she learned to fly, when her and her sister first started teaching. I felt what she felt, saw what she saw, knew what she knew, heard what she heard. All the way up to the day she died. Just like this, a bullet flew through the air towards Rainbow and she was the shield. But this wasn’t just any bullet. This was a special bullet. One made of fire, corroded with hate and burning with envy.

It doesn’t make sense though. She died so long ago, why mourn her now? Luna wouldn’t want that!

The bullet hit its mark and blood flooded my vision. Before I hit the ground everything was fuzzy and pain was merely a numb feeling all over. I heard her scream muffled by the high pitch ringing in my ears. Saw her run over tinted red from either my vision, the cuts lining her skin, or from her stabbing him dead in the chest causing more blood to stain the ground and our close.

“Ice! NO!!!” Applebloom yelled as she caught me.

“I know I will see you soon, I see you n-now...” I whisper to her using all my energy not to falter before my eyelids become to heavy and my lungs completely deflate.

“Ice, no.” She cries as my life finally drains. I don’t know how, or why, I stayed alive that long but all I know is that I didn’t lie. “Goodbye, Ice Score.”

“What are you going to do with her?” I don’t cry. No matter how scared I am, I can’t. I’m to confused to cry.

“I-I can’t keep her...that won’t do any good for either of us.” I hear her sigh. Holding the tight bundle closer she looks up at the...I can’t see what she looks like. Either of them.

“I could put her into the system?” That voice is so calm but it’s so strange. Theres just a tinge to it that isn’t right.

“Yes, that sounds right.” She murmurs, obviously sadden by the fact that...what, that what?

“What’s her name going to be?” My name? I remember, I shouldn’t though. I died.

“Ice, her name is going to be Ice Score!” Yes, that is my name...
