Twilight Sparkle was searching through a pile of books that had just been shipped in from Canterlot. She was looking for the new Daring Do book, Daring Do and the Diamond Horseshoe, that a certain cyan pegasus was waiting for. She caught a glimpse of the book at the very bottom of the box, and used her levitation magic to fling it of the box so quickly, the rest of the books went along with it. In a matter of seconds, the surrounding floor was scattered with colorful books. Annoyed with the mess, but happy with her findings, she trotted out of the room, yelling to her young dragon assistant, Spike, to attend to the mess.
With a couple hours until her rainbow-maned friend would arrive, she decided to read the book out on the balcony. It was, after all, a beautiful, warm, sunny day today. When she arrived on the balcony, she got comfortable on the soft chair she kept out there just for days like this. She smiled to herself and admired the beauty of the day for a moment. The birds chirping, the sun shining, a brand new book to curl up with! What more could she want? Looking back down at the book in her lap, she flipped open the first page, and began to read the adventure book.
Rainbow Dash shot through the air, at seeming impossible speeds. Her mane and tail whipped in the wind as she swerved around clouds, leaving a faint colorful streak behind her. She quickly made a sharp incline, going top speed, almost straight into the air. Before too long, she was reaching ear-popping altitudes. She slowed to a stop and hovered in the air for a moment, checking her surrounding and quickly catching her breath despite the thinner air. Just as fast as she'd stopped, she began flying again, this time straight down towards the fields on the outskirts of Ponyville. At this point she was flying so fast the rainbow trail she left behind was so vibrant you could see it from the Canterlot Castle. She was flying with such force, that a barrier was forming around her. In order to continue this stunt properly she would need to fly hard enough to break clean through the barrier of air in front of her hooves. It was at that moment that she misplaced a wing. The barrier of air bounced back like a giant, powerful trampoline, hitting the cyan mare with enough force to fling her back towards Ponyville. She quickly regained her balance, leaving only an instant before she would have smashed straight into Twilight's library balcony. The same balcony the purple pony was sitting on.
"No!" The unicorn mare yelled, bracing for the impact that never came. She slowly removed her hooves from over her head and looked up to see a pegasus, holding back severe laughter.
"You should'a seen the look on your face!" Dash laughed, flying down onto the small balcony, to be face to face with the now annoyed Twilight.
"You were all like 'No!'" Rainbow said in a mocking tone, crudely imitating Twi's reaction to the near crash.
"If there was somepony hurtling from the distance straight at YOU, YOU wouldn't think it was so funny..." The unicorn said with a deadpan expression.
"Eh, wat'cha gonna do?" The pegasus shrugged.
"So, you got my book?"
"Yes. I just finished it." the still annoyed Twilight replied, levitating the book towards Dash, who greedily snatched it from the magical grip.
"Thanks Twi! You're the best!" The sky blue mare said happily.
Twilight smiled, "Anytime!" Dash turned to fly off, but turned back to Twilight instead.
"Hey Twi, today, I have a story for YOU!" For a moment the unicorn looked baffled. She agreed to let the winged mare share her tale.
"Ok, here goes nothing," she started, "Once there was a mare. She was smart and kind. A pretty mare. She was also a unicorn. This was no ordinary pony though, she was the bravest pony I have ever heard of! More brave than the bravest pegasus, besides me of course. Okay, maybe even more brave than me... She also had an adventurous side! She'd saved Equestria several times, defeated countless villains! She was a hero! Everypony knew her as a hero, but when she wasn't saving the world she was just a normal pony. She had great friends and a great family, though she didn't get to see her family often because she had recently moved away from her home town. She was caring, and loving, and a great friend to everypony! She always took risks to save the ones she loved, and put them before herself. She was very talented and knew lots of tricks and spells. She was an amazing, memorable, loving, caring pony! But she always put her friends above all, because her number one rule, is that Friendship is Magic! So Twi, do you know who this pony is?"
Twilight thought for a moment, "Clover the Clever?"
"No you silly filly," Dash laughed, "It's you!"
"W-what? How? I'm not brave or adventurous! I'm hardly a hero!"
"Then how do you explain SAVING EQUESTRIA from so much? Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, Sombra, everything!"
Twilight smiled warmly, "Oh Dashie, I couldn't have done it without you! And the rest of our friends!"
The two mares hugged.
"And we couldn't have done it without you!"
